Sorry for the delay. I typed this out originally in the box, but managed to delete it all. I wrote this one in my Note Pad. BTW, it says it auto-saves like every minute, does anyone have a clue to restore the post?
I think daily goals are great, but my first order was disappointing. I had to give three items (which I rapidly gave, not seeing what the reward was) and was appalled that the reward was COAL! I am hoping this new Order fulfilling will not be geared mostly for newer players the way that sales (not of just gems) are usually are presented.
The items that call for coal are Earth Wisps that can become Wisp Lanterns, Alchemy for Jewels and on occasion, Black Dye. Most players with any tenure in the game will probably say a chunk of Coal is almost worthless unless you are a Blacksmith ( I had a friend who made armour and he searched for fallen coal from the side of the train tracks). You can obtain Coal (or Earth Wisps and Wisp Lanterns) from a few places. They are Mines, Deep Mines, Kingdom Inns, Feed the Baron Kitchen Craft, Sir Piggie (he usually gives me Bacon or Truffles just like the other pigs I simply bought without having to complete any quest) and Adventures from your Castle or Barracks. There may be a few more, but none come to mind.
I rarely use my forge to make Jewels from Coal. It is time I can better spend crafting items to go on Adventures. Also I am not likely to make too many Earth Wisps. I have 2 Kingdom Inns that give 1 each when harvested.
Having played this game from the beginning, I have learned that it is easiest for me to "pay" what I can for expansions as soon as they are available. I put money and the required Earth Lanterns into each expansion therefore needing just the necessary Expansion Permits. I have not come across any that require more Royal Points than I currently have in my Kingdom. If necessary I can place things from my Inventory.
That said I really do not need coal much with the exception of needing Earth Wisps for potion making and always have the necessary coal from daily harvesting.
I have an idea for Daily Orders. I know not to expect Gems each day as I do in Fairytale Wonderland Story since Gems are more valuable in Castle Story. What about giving some sort of In-Game currency? The currency could be used in an exchange for items that players may find needful. Items that are discontinued, ingredients and items that usually are obtained from Adventures would make great exchange items. I know a lot of newer players would love to have the chance to get a Love Shack! There could also be levels of items that are on sale for a day, a week and a month based on the amount of currency needed. Players who cannot get items could know their item would go back on sale after the completed rotation of items. I do not believe it would be necessary to introduce an Exchange Broker, but if you are thinking of adding a new character (after you bring in my Weaver character I have been asking for these past 3 or so years) this could be a chance. Perhaps the Baron would be interested in the Exchange. He is always strapped for cash and I am sure he has cast offs to contribute. These could be exclusive to the exchange. There are so many opportunities here.
A different type of item that could be sold in the exchange is Time-Off vouchers. How many times have we wished to speed up things without using precious Gems! It would be nice if the vouchers can be for one hour increments and be able to be used at any point in the craft/growth. IE. A craft for 6 hours could go down to 5 hours without having to wait for the last hour to use the voucher. Timing can be tricky.
I will not say this idea came to me from nothing. I have seen games that have ways to earn and spent currency. Monopoly Bingo has you able to earn Monopoly Money and spend it on Keys for the Community Chests or added bonuses for the game.
I know this is lengthy, but I feel pretty passionate about making the Daily Orders the "Coolest Thing About Castle Story!"
