Load/save function

After months of effort completing all the other gem bonus games and collecting the occasional one every few days I'd saved up almost 200 gems.
Been very careful not to double tap anything or fall asleep and accidentally tap them away as the iPhone falls on my face.
Today my finger slipped during an expansion when I was trying to load wisp lanterns (which I already had) and bang goes 180 gems. Bummer.
I'm sure there will be more chances to accrue free gems in future but I'm left wondering why there is no save/load feature to this game (as there are in many others)?
I doubt this would be too hard to implement.
Had the gems been purchased I would have been upset and the cynic in me would be wondering how much revenue is generated through accidental purchases.

The games are saved on the TL servers and not your device. This keeps your progress safe even if something happens to your device.

I'm sorry that this has happened to you. I will pass your suggestion on to the community managers.
