I have not seen a thread where they said are giving back the gems on clock tables, the only one I have seen is getting gems back for buying wrong roses on the farm goals.

You can only recieve 20 gifts per day (including makeup counter parts).
Try sending everyone a request for the drinks, then you should get your 10 drinks back.

You can only send out requests to nbr every 24 hours.

You can also try deleting your game an redownloading it from the app store. This will refresh you data with the servers.

I went ahead and turned in a bug report on this too.
