I thought it was just my game that did this with the World Games items which is why I rarely use them. The Poseidon Fountain, Ring Fountain and even the goal recipes only show as unlocked...

There are generally never guaranteed drops in events. I've found some of the Pink cake dragons drop multiple Cake Dragon Eggs during battle and others none.
