Hey there! 40 Energy is max energy cap, it never gets any higher than that. There are a few places in the game where you can get more energy - for example, the Wizard School and Alicorns drop energy, and the Fruit Trades and Meat Delivery in the Royal Exchange will give you energy. If you gain energy, it can sometimes exceed your 40 Energy cap, like when you level up, but the cap never raises beyond 40 - that is, Energy will never replenish beyond 40 Energy. I hope that helps!
