Hi there about the kitty photo, I took it a little while ago but I'm pretty sure I used a macro lens. Also, he was in an undercover area that wasn't shaded but had filtered light. I also photoshopped it a little with a high pass filter, not much though. Yes, it can be hard to get a good photo when they are black & white can't it.
