Tips about the Event
1. It's not that you have one day to complete a chapter - it's that another chapter won't UNLOCK until the next day.
2. If you finish the chapter early, you have to wait for the remainder of the time to expire before the next chapter starts. You have to complete a chapter to begin the next chapter.
3. If you take longer than a day to complete a chapter then the next one will start sooner.
4. If you gem skip a chapter, the next one doesn't start sooner (you will wait even longer!).

5. ??? There are be 2 sets of requirements for this event - Low level is 15-30 and High level is 31-50





Given we are nearing the end of the event, the poll has been added. I've incorporate the questions that have been posted in the thread. I've used all 13 spaces available...

Chapter 4: When Gemma touched the orb she opened up the gateway to a darker realm. We must be wary of what has made its way into our Kingdom. Keep a look out for strange sights.

Note: If the adventure is locked, you need to clear one of your crystalized trees. Chop one and the adventure should reopen.


Chapter 5: Thurston: These beasts are posing quite a challenge! We're going to need a stronger blade. Don't worry Gemma! We're coming to save you!

* The Onyx Boar spawn from farmhouses.
* The Onyx Boar has a 4 hour collection time and seems to drop everything a normal Boar drops and drops 2-3 energy and scorched Fur so it's very useful for collecting more Scorched Fur without tapping on farmhouses.

I'm maxed or close to that on all of them and have so many places to get this resources.

Even tho the drops are pretty basic I still think the dragon looks cool enough for me to do the event. I also saw a cool looking building on a screen that popped up to inform me about the event so I'm in =)

One big Q for S8 ~ Where do the Wild Onyx Boars spawn, besides using the trap in the market???

I've finished the first chapter and nothing spawned one ... is a separate goal gonna appear for them or are they only spawn-able after we hit a specific chapter?
With the craft for one in the workshop, I'd think they would be able to spawn *somewhere* now.

The boars spawn from farmhouses after Day 3 of the stage event. :) You will see a new quest for the Wild Onyx Boars when they arrive under the influence of the mysterious Summoner's Orb.

Step 3 of Day 2 is to collect from Rustic Well 12 times which drops a Crystal Shard. Since there is a fast collection time of 5 minutes not a huge need to have a bunch... But seeing as the rustic well is in the bundle, I'm guessing we will need a lot of crystal shard. So if you're bored waiting on day 2, you might want to build extra wells.(if not already in storage) :)

RealGoblinKing - would you or someone else from S8 check on this? I used my larkspur flowers to make the larkspur shrubs. It seems that any larkspur flower should work shrubs or individual flowers.

Step 1 and 2 were "read through" goals that are just dialog without even going to a location.(talk to character x, blah, blah) ;-)

I lied... Now I recall one of the steps was place the Onyx Temple you get from the market.

Step 4 is to chop 2 Cystalized Trees you buy in the market for 2000 coins each. Each requires 10 chops and drops Wood and Crystalized Wood.

Day 2 Step 5 is upgrade Onyx Temple to Level 2(Requires 15 Crystal Shard and 15 Crystalized Wood)


Oh BTW... Max on everything so far is 99 so unless they are going to change it during the event the max you will need for any one upgrade is 99. :)

Calm down just buy another one and collect from it 15 times or buy 15 collect from them not S8 fault you don't have any right now. All part of game use up all of your resources or stockpile in case you "might" need it sometime. We all have this at one time or another.

I have learned that I can visit the same kingdom about three times before the list refreshes so that helps. I also try to visit young kingdoms because they don't use as much memory to load.

You should not delete the game, will make it worth. You must force close it, or/and reboot your device. I have the same issue, just pick low level kingdoms. My experience below level 25 I have little issues, below 20 none.

Anyone having issues buying the Onyx Temple? My Quest goal says "Place the Onyx Temple (Buy this in the Market!)" but the item is marked as locked by goal in the market.

I've re-started the game and checked my inventory, no temple.

1 Talk to Old Thomas, quite a long conversion just click talk. Got another invisible book;
2 Buy Onyx Temple, in the Market, 1000 coins, level 1 needs 10 jewels, 30 stones, 20 iron ores, 20 coals;
3 Attend Rustic Wells x 12, can collect Crystal Shards;
4 Attend Crystallized Tree x 2 (10 chops each), in the Markets, 2000 coins, get crystallized woods.
5 Upgrade Onyx Temple to level 2 ...... Don't have any stone for level 1,so don't have the requirement for this.....Gonna listen to the advise not to rush this one, collecting from all my wells now.

I really hope the onyx boar drops boar tusks. That's like the one thing I don't have a consistent drop for without defeating monsters. I've got plenty of stuff that drops boar pelts, fur, rat tails, etc. but it feels like I'm always in need of boar tusks.

Whilst waiting for dahlias I can still collect shards from Wells, scorched fur from boar onyx,scorched petals & wings from scorched rose and scorched mountain adventure is still open.

I bought some crystalized trees and was storing them but got a freeze screen and when movement returned all the trees I stored were back on the board BUT I could no longer store them. Tried restarting but no go. Luckily I can use them but will not buy huge amounts in one go in future. Imagine being stuck with 50 trees in your kingdom that you can't store!....oooo shiver...

But goals still let me go through attending rusty well. So what can I do? I restart the game and also delete install again. And still not there.

RGK - I've already received Feral Magic from the Onyx Boar... Can you please check to see what the permanent drops for the Onyx Boar will be AFTER the event as well? It would be awesome if the Onyx boar dropped regular boar pelts(instead of the purple one's it drops now), feral magic, boar tusks after the event.

Better to relearn this on chapter 2 because Crystal Shards are very easy to "catch up" on later. In future chapters you will want to be sure to hold off upgrading and keep collecting petals(from what ever Scorched flowers you have) because these are MUCH slower to recover from unless you purchase extra flowers with Gems or as a part of the bundles.

Chapter 3 the adventure step bugged for me. I started adventure 1 of 3 and then collected 2 stone blocks. 1 from the tinker camp and 1 from a workshop. It completed the step as if I had done 3 adventures instead of just starting 1. So bugged in my favor and doesn't prevent me completing the storyline, but I don't think is supposed to be doing that.

That's what happened for both Chapter 3 and 4 when going on the Adventures for me... Send one adventure, start collecting unrelated stuff from workshop or Magic Forge and the Adventure goal completes(adventure is still out) and you can go onto the next step.

Onyx Boar has a 4 hour collection time and seems to drop everything a normal Boar drops and drops 2-3 energy and scorched Fur so it's very useful for collecting more Scorched Fur without tapping on farmhouses.

When the Crystal Realm Chapters are active and you unlock the items, the Onyx Temple has a chance to drop Crystalized Wood, Crystal Shard, Scorched Fur, Scorched Petals, Scorched Wings, Onyx Petals, or a Crystalized Tree. Keep in mind certain items unlock later in the story event.

Once you unlock the items, the Onyx Temple also has a chance to drop Glimmerbulb, Purple Dye, Scorched Dahlia, or Scorched Rose. These drops are during the event and after the event is over. If you get the Onyx Temple to level 10, it has a chance of dropping Enchanted Block, Enchanted Beams, or Mithril.

I haven't unlocked the scorched rose yet. I'm still on day two. So that's a 'mistake'. Not that I'm complaining, you understand! :-D

You might need to try force closing the game and reopening it to see available upgrades to the Onyx Temple. You can also try tapping away from the building and back to it.

I was thinking along those lines too. My only complaint about that Spring Dragon is how it makes all my other dragons look wee tiny so I'm glad to get another larger dragon.

If we consider them a 'different race' of dragons and not compared to all the other jumping dragons, whose drops are simple and completely different, they become unique and worthwhile judging their appearance and particular drops.
Let's hope the Purple Dragon has drops like the Spring Dragon ;)

Day 3, had already done 6 boars I thought but I'm back awake again so I **** a few more because I can! I didn'/t collect frm my castle today, but i have from farmhouses and a few building-stuff type buildings.

Ol' Thom says stuff and gives me some roses. I go from step 2 to step 4, skipping the adventures listed that others did.

I had no rose until I force-close and restart then there it was, but I missed out on getting to do adventures. :(

My bros are out until about 6pm EST because they're on a 1 day regular.

Will I still get to send them?

The armored ice and fire dragons will occasionally spawn a Naga. The event where we got those dragons was the event that introduced the Naga monsters to the game. I too had one drop tokens the day after the hunt ended. I collect from my dragons daily, and keep hoping to spawn another one to see if it will happen again, but so far no luck.

I haven't chopped any dead trees, but I am collecting from my lucky clydesdales (1000 coins each!) and they have not spawned a glimmer troll since the hunt ended. I wouldn't mind fighting the monsters, if the tokens still dropped. Lol!

For me, the worst parts of these storybooks are the forced downtime and the suspended drops during that downtime. Very frustrating!

Chapter 3 the adventure step bugged for me. I started adventure 1 of 3 and then collected 2 stone blocks. 1 from the tinker camp and 1 from a workshop. It completed the step as if I had done 3 adventures instead of just starting 1. So bugged in my favor and doesn't prevent me completing the storyline, but I don't think is supposed to be doing that.

Oh dear! I thought I was the only one with this problem. I scoured the forum in search of someone with the same problem as mine! I feel so much better now, knowing that I'm not alone in this.

My adventure glitched too. I did my first Scorched Mountain adventure, moved to other coin buildings to collect drops, then ... voila ... a pop up showed that I moved to the next goal. Scorched rose was suddenly in my storage and my gems were deducted as if I skipped the entire adventure goal! I didn't speed up my game nor skipped with gems! No way! What's the point of skipping this goal when we need the drops to progress in the event?

I quickly sent a report to Storm 8 but I'm not sure if they respond to these bug reports quick enough for me to proceed in my game. So do I continue collecting from the scorched rose? Or do I wait for Storm 8 to fix the glitch? Does this mean they'll give me my gems back but revert my play to the start of goal 3, so I lose everything I've collected thereafter? I'm really confused!

A friend of mine just told me she found 2 scorched roses in her inventory, the item appears to be unlocked if she decided to buy more, her adventure step got autocomplete, no gems got deducted. I do not have any scorched roses in my inventory and I am on my second adventure now. Is that a reported issue that Storm8 is working on? Are we all getting free scorched roses and when?

Add me to the club of people who had the glitch. I already had a regular adventure out, then collected some blocks from workshop and suddenly a pop up saying I completed the task appeared. I'm perfectly happy with the auto-complete too. I won't mind if it hangs around a long time. Lol! I would be upset if I was losing gems though.

I'm still behind for my personal goal for the day because my rose wants to drop more regular petals than burnt ones.....and my temple hasn't been generous at all. It just keeps trying to drop glimmerbulbs. :-(

Well, it seems obvious, the adventure glitch is a hit or miss....All of my Scorched adventures have finished at 2 hrs. I'm holding off upgrading to level 4. Collecting the max on required items. I see that Chapter 4, Goal #2 requires chopping 2 crystallized trees...I have 2 waiting with only 1 chop left. The temple has only dropped glimmerbulbs and a few coins. I hope those kingdoms who had gems taken from them are reimbursed! Good Luck!

It is from the Scorched Dahlia, however you can get more of them through adventures, the Onyx Temple, or they are available in the store.
I've been collecting from Temple and adventure since Thursday and still haven't seen a Scorched dahlia drop.
Since it takes 15 for chapter 4, 15 for chapter 5, and 20 for chapter 6 and 2 hour collection time the math just doesn't add up.

The complaints will start adding up quickly when the people who started on Thursday reach Chapter 4...

Even the single Scorched dahlia I have seems to only drop a single petal only about 75% of the time and burnt wings instead the other times.




Update: Finally after 4 days, got a Scorched dahlia to drop from temple.(unfortunately after waiting 2 hours for 1st collection just got Scorched wings) :(

Sometimes I get the onyx boars every 1-3 farms, and twice I hit farms 8 times with no OB. So I tried a few different things...

In the very beginning of the event, the O Boars came constantly every 1-2 farms... then after 10, less so. Not sure if this helps, but my luck seems slightly better if I just finish slaying one boar, I wait 5-10 min before hitting another farm. It may be coincidental, but it seems better to me. But again, can be coincidental.

Am I missing something or is this physically impossible?

I am about to start day 4. This will require a minimum of 2 hours on adventuring (assuming you have an adventure ready to collect, which I don't, it will be about an hour yet). Then the dahlia: one petal every two hours appears to be what's listed on page one. But the upgrade to complete the day requires 15 petals, taking a minimum of 30 hours. Plus the two adventuring. How many hours are there in the S8 day?

The Scorched Mountain adventure says Inventory Full? I was meant to start that adventure however when I finished a regular adventure I had out, the goal auto completed. That would be fine but now I can't do the Scorched Mountain adventure at all. Is this happening to anyone else?

No loss of gems, though. I got the dahlia, with almost enough time to collect 8 times today. But if it only gives 1 petal, I'm going to be defeated. I can't stay awake all night or avoid going to work just to not miss a collection.

I wish. The problem for me is that I'm never able to actually send out the stinking adventure because it's locked. I've got my fingers crossed that the Onyx Temple will be very kind in its drops cuz I really don't wanna pay gems for flowers.

Two thoughts. One - boars, I usually go two to ten or three to gen the. Zero to ten. So overall my boat rate is about 5 to 1, with some ferocious beasts thrown in. Two- flowers. Love the new flowers but 100 gems is to rich for my blood. 10 gems each so I could buy ten, sure. They look better in groups after an event.

Great idea, designs and colors for the event. Like the size of the boars to the dragon, good proportion. My adventures are glitchy too. Keeping an eye on my gems now. Won't complain because I do t know for sure, but I have have experienced it in the past and it's a bummer. Good luck to all!

You are correct. If you gem start chapter 'x', once you finish it, you'll still have to wait until day 'y' for chapter 'y' to start, unless you gem start it also.

The quote above lists sources for the onyx petals. Although, I believe they will only drop from the dahlias when they are needed in a chapter, it is possible to get them in advance from the temple or adventures. I have one that dropped from the adventure, before I reached chapter 4.

Reminder: it's a good idea to hold off on upgrading the temple until the end of your day when possible, as many items stop dropping between chapters. (For me, each chapter day starts in the middle of the night, so I upgrade last thing before going to sleep, that way I keep the chapter open to collect materials ahead for the next chapter.)

My 1st drop was 2 onyx petals...happy for a moment as it means probably can get 15 by the 8th collection. Alas my 2nd collection was the wing and no onyx petal. Means that it may take more than 8 collections to get the 15 onyx petals for the upgrade of the temple. OMG!!!

Unfortunately, I can't come up with any ideas to help with the onyx petals other than consistently collecting from the 3 sources - the dahlia, the adventure, and the temple. This might be a quest geared towards gemmers. It's going to require a lot of work to succeed without using some gems. The Chapter 7 upgrade is even harder. Good luck, everyone. Luck will definitely be necessary.

When the adventure gave me the onyx petals, the game reset and the onyx petals were gone. Bad luck...if it continues, may stop this event and focus on mermaid quest instead. Good luck to all on the onyx petals...

I wasn't impressed either. I've collected I think 4 times so far, I did wake up later than normal today but only 3 onyx petals and one was from an adventure. I'm not going to start the next chapter on time, don't think that's ever happened to me. How we're supposed to get 20 in a following up grade, and at this rate to get 15 to upgrade this chapter might take me into the last few hours of the second day when I should be finishing chapter 5!

Ditto! I have willingly spent both other times unlimited energy was offered. Not because I felt I 'needed' to, but because I wanted to play a little faster and get ahead. And because the events were fun!

This time, energy is not an issue. The dahlia has a two hour timer and my first drop was a purple petal :mad: (For 2 hours and at a 100 gem cost, onyx petals should be a guaranteed drop. The fact that it is not, is why I will not be buying one.) The temple timer is 7 hours 45 minutes at level 3, and the adventure takes 2 hours. I don't need that much energy to collect from those things. (Plus the limit on crystals and crystal wood is 99.....no need to chop frantically for 15 minutes, those items max quickly.)

It feels like the last few months where we were pressured to spend to get ahead. I have said it before and I will repeat.....I will not spend money on this game when I feel forced to do so. I have proven to myself that I can ~~ Let It Go ~~ if need be. I'd like to get the dragon, but I won't be 'buying' it.

The temple has actually dropped 2 rose plants since my post yesterday.....let's see if this one will bring a few dahlias. If not, looks like I'll be getting a few pet boars and a rose garden this time around. Good luck everyone!

I personally like the looks of the purple boar, so I've crafted many. The drops are good. I've been getting 2-4 energy, troll horns, along with normal boar drops and scorched fur. For players who can't see themselves finishing the main quest, onyx boars are a decent consolation prize.

The glitch seemed to start immediately for me. The key is to do stuff around your kingdom to trigger the autocomplete glitch. For me, I started a workshop boost which triggered the adventure to autocomplete. Another time, I was collecting from buildings when it happened. If you start the adventure, then leave the game for 2 hrs., it probably won't glitch for you. You do have to keep the game open and tool around your kingdom. Also, collecting from the coral castle made the adventure autocomplete once. I'm fairly certain the glitch will be fixed tomorrow during regular work hours, so chop-chop, folks, while you can...

You can make them easily, make as many as your energy will allow and you'll be able to use them in the future to keep all the hard to obtain boar parts like feral magic, tusks, pelts maxed out AND best of all can be collected every 4 hours and actually give you energy... That's a triple win in my books.

Considering that petals are playing such a big role in these goals you would think the prices would be a bit cheaper. I accidentally bought a rose bush for 50 gems but have been super careful since.

Thankfully my temple has been awesome and dropped multiples of each bushes and even a few trees! That temple is my only saving grace for this event, no way could I get the petals needed without those drops.

Everyone should be able to upgrade the temple to level 6 which is when the purple slab becomes a nice looking building at least. I'm sure with so many days remaining, most of you will get farther than level 6 however. Good luck!

Your math is correct, however, you'll also get some of the petals from the adventures and from the temple. It's still tight, but the next chapter is fairly easy so spending more than 1 day on chapter 4 won't be so bad.

I got one scorched rose and one dahlia in those adventures. I checked inventory and no e there. I see they can be purchased for 100 gems. Too rich for my blood. I am at level 50 and a friend at level 30 got 2 of each in the adventures. Hmmmmm.

thanks everyone for letting us all know the steps. FYI I find it very useful to have the tips, but I noticed some were lost as new data was added - such as not collecting last goal of day or the reminder of the cap on the crystallized wood. perhaps this information could remain?

Yes, that's how it been for me also with the scorched adventure trips. I'm one of the players who is NOT getting the glitch...I have 2 dahlia plants. The dahlias are never consistent....the second collection I got 2 onyx petals from one plant, the other dropped 1. The next collection, I got scorched wings from both plants....ugh! I would like to speak to the creator of this particular part of the event....if you're not a gemmer, I guess they expect players to stay in the game 24/7.

I only needed to tend 4x is that because of a lower level? I am a level 26 and when are you considered a high level?

The dahlias will drop scorched wings instead of petals part of the time so you will not have as many petals as collection times.

I'm not having a very good drop rate on the Dalia, the temple has only given me scorched wings and glemmer balls and the adventure trees! At this rate it doesn't look good for completing this event!�� I will start working on the dire bores if things don't change!

goal 3 - Go on 3 adventures (Scorched mountain) requires 1 pelt,5 water, 5 roast chicken takes 2 hours, Drops crystallized tree and random burnt petal or wings.
goal 4 - collect from scorched rose (10 minute timer) that was reward for goal 3 10 times.(drops burnt wings or petals)
Goal 5 - Upgrade Onyx Temple to level 3, requires 20 crystal shard, 20 crystallized wood, 20 burnt petals


Remember to not finish last goal each day if you want to collect additional items(like crystal from the rustic well)

Does that include slaying boars also after you upgrade temple? If I upgrade last thing before I go to bed, will the time before next chapter starts be less because I waited? Thanks.

Not sure about the boar but it does not hurt to wait to upgrade till bed time. The waiting time will be less for sure :)

I believe the boars are always available, at least in my experience.
And yes. The timer on each chapter lasts 24 hours. If you complete a chapter in 2 hours, there will be a 22 hour wait until the next chapter. If it takes 12 hours, there will be a 12 hour wait. If it takes more than 24 hours to complete a chapter, the next chapter will have already started.
