If you're doing storybook you'll need to do the tournament, it gives bday cake as reward round 3 that I'm sure is for SB :)

I've been wondering...does battling in the battlegrounds area tire out your animals for the tournament area? What do you guys think? I know the 'animals getting tired' thing is still speculation, but I really think it happens. If they get tired in both areas, I'm going to hold off on the battlegrounds during tournaments.

NEW OBSERVATION: i started battling on the battlegrounds to try to get more food, but i noticed I started losing a lot more in the tourney. Not sure if it was a coincidence...maybe the tourney just got harder at that point, but I'm not gonna take a chance, so I'm stopping all battleground activity while the tourney is going on

I wish a tournament that is tied to the Storybook had an original animal. I don't mind repeat animals for tournaments. It gives people who don't have that animal a chance to get it. But it should not be a requirement for those that already have the animal. If we have the GI Joey already, it should count for the Storybook steps (but it doesn't)

The cakes don't show up in storage, but you have it, and you will definitely get credit for it

I don't remember ever seeing the arena item needed for stoybook in inventory but they do get counted when SB asks for it

I know it's frustrating. You're doing the right thing but just need some luck. No one can really help you and you just need to keep trying. This tournament is featuring Nature/Fire animals. Rainbow is strong against both so Rainbow animals are supposed to be the best. Otherwise, use animals with either a Fire or Water element. My fighters are all level 15 and super rare apart from 4 which are ultra rare. I don't think being ultra makes much difference. The important thing is to fight with the right elements. Remember that what works for others may not work for you. Write down your results so you can form a strategy. Good luck!

Oh gosh, almost every events need apples, the leaderboard need apples, the zodiac goal need apples, Storybook need apples, world events sometimes need it (your choice), the tournament need much apples to level up some super rare animals too, I think they should have some relax day b?tween every events to grow money, apples up, at least 2-3 days relax are so good for me. I've play this game for 6months.

I've managed to take down most rounds with Pyro Pony or Frostfang. Think I've only used a super rare or rare animal once or twice, so it can be done without leveling up to many super rares.

I am stuck on Harvest Hedgehog though. I usually get stuck around thus many levels in so no surprise haha.

I've been wondering...does battling in the battlegrounds area tire out your animals for the tournament area? What do you guys think? I know the 'animals getting tired' thing is still speculation, but I really think it happens. If they get tired in both areas, I'm going to hold off on the battlegrounds during tournaments.

NEW OBSERVATION: i started battling on the battlegrounds to try to get more food, but i noticed I started losing a lot more in the tourney. Not sure if it was a coincidence...maybe the tourney just got harder at that point, but I'm not gonna take a chance, so I'm stopping all battleground activity while the tourney is going on

Since there's no time limit on the battleground, there's no reason to worry about it for now. Those creatures will always be there, but the limited tournament ones you may never get another chance at.

I could be wrong, but my observation was that the first 18 rounds all included a fire element, which is weak against water and fire. I easily beat all those rounds using mostly water animals, no "special " fighters. Starting with round 19 it has been leaf animals, which are weak against fire, so so far I'm using fire element animals. I mean, I think there's a pattern and they aren't trying to make this tournament overly difficult.

Yep, you're absolutely right about this. I just got overly excited by your suggestion to use BS, so I used Pearl Pony (water/BS) on GI Joey and of course it didn't work bcuz of the water. Unfortunately it's the only birthstone animal I have though :( #noobproblems

I'm so lucky because I only have 2epic animals (sunfish/seamonkey) but lucky that most of those animals in the battleground, I always take critticle hit to them, anyway, my lv14 CU is still helpful to me, I never want to feed the super or ultra animals unless the event need to feed animals. Every events they add legendarycombo animals, so I need dark but my strongest dark animal is twillight troll level...12, so I always fail with those legendaty animals, but this battleground, the legendary aniamls is quart quelzaqot (I don't remember the name lmao), I can use my sunfish to defeat it.

Yes bs is strong against elec, but you're discounting the secondary element and it absolutely plays a part. I've explained it in the post you quoted the best way I know how..

This tournament is beyond annoying. I'm right now stuck again in round 17. Always fighting with animals of the right elements (strong attack), lv 15, super or ultra rare, and I make maybe one critical in 10-15 attacks, if that. What's the point of leveling up animals when they constantly lose?

Usually it takes me 3/4 tries to win. The most was 7 tries. Both accounts are on level 42 currently. It's a very difficult & super long tournament. The last few have been very difficult, but please S8 these 48 rounds are lethal! :mad: Too close to quit now, but my babies are all panting hard.

Thanks for this super easy trick hun! :D Much easier than visiting a neighbor as mine are all level 150 plus and my game crashes. I have been doing the troll battleground alongside the tournament because I need the food for the SB (have collected over 32K in 72 rounds so far) and have not noticed any diminished performance in the tournament. My tournament has actually gone much better than the last one did.

I'm on round 32 in the tournament now and have won every round with Lost Crow (except round 27 Arboar - after 3 losses with crow, I used Tye-Dye Tiger for win). Many rounds were critical hit on first strike with crow. I had losses on 6 different rounds, but then won in next attempt. At this point it's now a strange quest for me to see if I can do the whole tourney with the same animal!

So yep, I think you're right. Just used Daredevil & got critical in the tourney, then immediately used him on the battleground and hit critical again.

Sunfish level15 good luck. Use fire or dark element. You can even use your pearl pony as well. Birthstonr/dark are strong againist

For the tournament. For weak player like me (under60) only need to lv up at least 3 super rare animals to lv 15 devided by 6 normal elements. For examples: 3 animals to lv 15 are thorrilla (L/E), vinotaur (F/N) and aqua fox (W/D), only need 3 animals because super rare animals cost so much apples, try to lv up only for the food schedule C animals. All elements are needed for strong attack, strong attack have highest chance to take critticle hit

Rainbow are strong againist both nayure/water. Legendary (gem) is good againist nature too. Lightning and spring are also good againist the aboar. I only use the simplest thing: lv 14 CU and get critticle after 1 times. Anyway I hate water and nature animals because my CU haven't reached lv 15 (30000 apples will fly away 😝😝 )

Around battle #40 I started to get 200 apples pr win until # 47 was 300 apples and # 48 u win 1000 apples and the prize G.I. joey. I hope that S8 will continue apples instead of coins which after a while are pretty much useless. When we get up and closing in on 4 + hundred thousand the coins just don't matter much. I just whish we could buy more useful items with the coin like ruines. Or if S8 would expanding the habitats that are bought with coins.

Do you have lost crow? If not, then as Elspethwood said, just keep trying your best dark/fire, should work eventually. i had to use lost crow a few times before it worked

Do you have beast? He's usually great on QQ I prefer dark on it but u can try fire or BS (garnet pony) bs/fire

That's chance. Element is tge mksst important. Higher lv/rarity-higher chance to take critticle hit. Don't use rare animals if you have another super/ultra rare animals. I use crystal unicorn lv14 and defeat maid maireen by only 1 hit, well it's about chance, lucky too lol

Rarity doesn't matter so much it's mainly element . My common lightning leopard has won battles against UR or SR when my high rarity animals fail, if u base the battle on element and what it's strong against you'll do well in battle

So if I use lost crow or beast to defeat gems hybryd animals in lv 20 is okay too? Does it take too much battles times to defeat lv20 gems hybryd by lv15 rare animals?

Nobody can tell you how many tries a round will take, an animal hitting critical is random, but yes I've used lvl 9 lightning leopard on high lvl gem/water hybrid and won first try after high rarity/lvl animals failed. Lots here use commons when their main ones fail. I use skyger too. So just be sure element is strong against enemy and if you're failing try a common single element animal!

I feel sad that for now, GI egg iss still in the storage, it haven't been hatched because there are still23hrs to the hatch of the GUC and ******s/dragon have finished breeding an animals but I can't put that animal on the nest too. I'm jealous with u guys that you guys are all have 2nd nest. I may have to stop breeding for a day. Anyway, the another event haven't started yet, that's fine for me😌😌😌

aw, sorry will :( try to save up for the 2nd nest. it took me a long time to save enough for it, but when I first started playing I knew I wanted the 2nd nest, so that's all I was saving for. I didn't use any gems for anything else and I finally got it about a month later. It should be easier to save now that this event is over!

Haha what a bummer. It happens to me too ones. Next time when you almost finish something keep in mind you need to fill your nest. Sometimes I just buy a egg for coins (Pyro Pony for example). In this case you know for sure the animal you just won will go in storage.

"Should" start today when the pattern was tues & Friday but they've changed things up, so hard to say if they'll start it today or throw in a filler til Friday with possible birthstone pony or Leo zodiac release? We shall see, but always ck Tuesday and Friday ;)

Try ******s (using rainbow) GreyT! He's a beast in the arena (well the 2x I've used him) and perfect elements to bring down GI Joey. I actually tried Rainbow Dragon first, because in theory fire should be strong against nature, but I've found that nature as a secondary element works better with elec/nature creatures. Not sure why.

Almost as bad as being stuck on round 48 - I'm stuck on round 47. :P I've tried at least half a dozen times, but I just can't beat it. With three hours left, I think I will just call it quits on this tournament, because I'd rather save my gems right now than spend them to get the prize. At least I got what was needed for the story book. :)

Well, I'm ashamed to admit this but I actually gave up on this tournament. I was stuck on peridot for so long, I just thought no more!
Bit sad as I never give up! Even when I know there's not enough time left to win, I battle for the rewards but....just cldnt face it this time.

I did some speed ups at the end and finished the tournament! I only did one Ultimate attack, and that was way back there - like on the Eagle Beagle or something. I very much appreciate everyone posting strengths/weaknesses and what they used to win.
