Got it after about 1/2 hour.

Started with Infinity and Fire. Switched to Diamond and Fire, got it about the third try. Diamond temple is active.

Woo hoo ... 41 hrs :) I just used diamond and fire .... took me about 15 mins, though i do have the diamond temple active. Just keep trying .... good luck :)

I guess it will double the chances of people who don't already have a Crusader for getting a Red Diamond hybrid. Too bad it's not something that we need like a pure Egypt type.

Activated Diamond temple and got Crusader after 40 or so tries with Diamond and fire. First try after finishing Crusader I got a 41 hour breed! Heck yeah!

Anyone have tips on snowflake type dragons for Artic isle? I've tried lots of breeding combinations with no luck. Also there is a mine on the lower level, is there a trick to get into it?

Breed the Abominable Dragon with any Ice Age-type Dragon to get a Blizzard Dragon. Do that until you get two Blizzard Dragons. Then, breed those two Blizzard Dragons together to get the other blizzard-types (snowflake symbol). Or, you can also breed Blizzard X Diamond to get the other blizzard-types.

The Arctic has been abandoned by the developer. The mine was never opened, so it's basically just decoration now.

Seems to be a trend. After update, I also activated temple & 2nd den & also got 2 crusaders. I wish someone would answer if the Dragon or just the Sale is Limited?

EDIT: it looks to me that it's JUST THE SALE IS LIMITED. Otherwise it would just be labeled limited. Let me know if I'm wrong. Good luck to us still trying for Ridgeback✨

I recently hatched my 1st crusader (only took almost 10 fire fails) and now we've got this new red-diamond hybrid... it's cute! I hope I get it quickly like I did when trying for crusader

Took me over an hour non-stop. Got an Infinity (Crusader x Crusader). Then 15 minutes later a Crusader (Infinity x Fire) on the other roost :(

Tried around 7 times with crusader/playful then switched to crusader /fire.....Yeyy got 41 hrs after around 10 fire fails.
My 2nd isle got crusader after 15 fire fails,with same combo.
My 3rd isle got 41 hrs after 9 fire fails, with same combo. Then came here to confirm Ridgeback is 41 hrs. Hav'nt paid as much attention to ds lately so wasn't sure if another dragon had been snuck in for that combo lol.
Takes me back...wayyy back to being so excited trying for crusader and quetzel, fast pace, breed sell breed sell. Sooo much easier now with rebread button.

You definitely have a crusader not a Diamond. Diamond isn't a possibility with Diamond and fire breed. Only fire, crusader or ridgeback.

I have a second account like that. I've tried for hours in the past and still don't have a crusader on it. Tried for another 45 minutes last night, still nothing. There's a reason I don't keep it too active - its's the unluckiest account ever!

After more than 100 attempts on each of 2 breeding dens with Fire/Playful & Diamond all with Fire fails, I finally got a 44 hr & 41 hr timer on the 2 dens! A Ridgeback & another Crusader will tie breeding up on my island. Activated Diamond Temple to try to breed the last 2 hybrids I need.

Yay, I got my 6th Crusader trying to breed for this. I don't get upset at all when I get a diamond hybrid fail. It's actually fun to try and breed for this one because Fire fails are quick and Crusader is still ultra rare so I still win, lol.

Am I right thinking that Crusader x Diamond ought to be a combo for this one as well? I still need infinity, and normally I would breed diamond x Quetzal for the shorter ultra fail time, but with this as a possibility as well, that makes this a better option now!

Crusader/Diamond is definitely a combo for this as well.

After trying about 70 odd times with the temple active, using both Diamond & Fire, and Diamond & Playful, I got a Crusader :(

Now to decide what to do with him, given he's my second one. Do I keep him, sell him, or feed him up and trade him? I kept my second Quetzal, but not sure whether I want to keep all my diamond hybrids. What does everyone else do with their duplicate diamonds?

I've got Infinity on my other den too, so it'll be a while before I can try again...

Right now I have about 9 Diamonds, 6 Crusaders, a couple of Quetzals, a couple of Golds, 3 Dark angels, 2 Anubises, 2 Unicorns and various others and each one has their habitat. I love em all.

After a full day and then some got it with playful and infinity. Diamond temple was on, because of the sale. Never got a crusader (thank you ds gods) which I was worried about. Back to my search for glimmer. She's avoiding me like crazy.

Saying 'not to bad' would be the understatement of the year...

Got Ridgeback on my main account yesterday, 23rd try with Fire and Diamond. :D Was actually fearing for a lot more, still knowing that my first Crusader took a staggering 503 tries :eek:
So, very happy, activated a 10x boost, paid the remaining 32 gold and put it on a nest. Now it will be ready about two hours before the fleaderboard ends, will give some good points ;)
With the boost still active, I put Diamond and Humming in the den for a bingo task. 20 hours, another 12 gold: Spell, new :D

On my second account I have only two nests and a Sulfur hatching in one, so had to wait a little.
Just been breeding Crusader and Infinity, wouldn't mind a duplicate from either of them ;)
Only 16 Fire fails later: 41 hours :eek: can't believe it :cool:

Oh, by the way, no diamond temples active. Not waisting my gold on those anymore :rolleyes:

Wow, that's quite a collection you've got! If we could buy the Shimmering Shrine habitat for coins, I'd definitely consider keeping all my diamond type dragons too. But I don't want to spend the gold, and I don't want a whole heap of Little Diamond Field habitats either.

I tried again today hoping that I don't get crusader, but surprisely got Ridgeback after 4 tries with crusader and diamond(currently breeding).

I bred it without a diamond temple, so it's possible for those that don't have a temple. I also wanna say congrats to all who were able to breed it.

So far one Crusader fail and an Infinity (new to me!) fail. I hope to try again in a day or two when I free up some nest space. I had no idea you could do this until I saw this thread! In the Fantasy Forest game, if you breed diamond and fire but get a fire fail, it takes an HOUR to breed (or 5 gemstones) and not 10 seconds like in this game.

I didn't keep track of the number of fails except to say they were all fire dragons. I used Playful and Infinity and I got 41 hrs. This was accomplished without a diamond temple. I've never used one. Happy to have this one on my island. ;)

That's smart. My whole plan was to get Ridgeback fast and then use the rest of the time for the temple to go for other hybrids, as I only have a few (only got my diamond dragon a little bit ago). But now 4 days down, with the 2nd roost, and I still don't even have the new Ridgeback. 17 more hours and I can try again...it may be smart to go for something else and wait to go after Ridgeback after the temple is done, as you're doing. But I'm also deciding if I still want to play...I wasted what little was left of my gold in this endeavor, and the game keeps frustrating me more and more (and yet I keep putting more and more time into it to try to keep up). This may just be my sign to hang up the cleats and move on with my life.
