Hints for success in Season 7!

1. Read the Monster Hunt thread in the Hub - all information is linked above for convenience.


2. Where to collect from to get a beast:

* Glimmer Golem - all horses, clydesdales, (not horses from Baron's Tent)

* Blue Dire Boar - dead tree (once a day)

* Flyger - cows, pigs. Gem cows seem to have a much higher spawn rate.

* Fangbeasts - all normal animals (cows, chickens, pigs), Hot Pepper, Carrot, Trees, some Buildings (stable, hatchery, farmhouses), Fangbeast Trap (5 gems), Glimmeregg Bunny, Season 5 Training Dummy

* Level 5 Jousting Arena - spawns a random beast at collection - skunkupine, fangbeast, dire boar (they all drop silver tokens once defeated)

* Season 5 Training Dummy - spawns a fangbeast (not every time)

make sure you scroll all the way down in your to do book. there are loads of challenges, including a daily challenge. the novice challenge is just fangbeasts this time. it used to include skunkupines.

S8 you did good. The energy package with 15mins (not 5) was brilliant. I spent the coffee money and was happy - and you guys got my $$ AND I will do it again because:

The spawn rate is excellent - please please dont change it. And this is speaking as a player who always gets shafted with drop rates.
The trades are achievable

I just spent a happy 30mins tootling around my kingdom slaying beasties and doing a couple of trades.

I am happy. If it stays this way, then I will come back and play more AND I will spend consistent $$.

I just spent my unlimited 15 minutes of energy battling trolls and found that every single one of my horses spawned the Glimmer Troll. The only exclusions were Fairy Horse and Sleigh Bell Horse.

I do not have the option of the mythic research centre; I've only played since late last year and this is my first monster hunt. Does this mean I will never get the option to trade for it and craft one of the new unicorns?

The text on the goal has been altered: it?s only fangbeasts that count, skunkupines don't count at all.

There was an issue where it mentioned Skunkupines would count towards it, but it's just Fangbeasts. We fixed the text.

You should only get it if you have the Adept Challenge active in your Kingdom Goals. Once you complete it for the day and it's no longer active in your Kingdom Goals, you won't spawn it.

I bought the $4.99 package and loved it! One tip for anyone who's planning on getting it: go for the horses and knock down a few purple golems.

I made the mistake of chopping rocks, hatcheries and cows, but wasted time and didn't always spawn. Horses always spawn and the golem drops a LOT of troll coins. By the time I'd had 8 minutes left, I decided to stick with horses and was able to complete about 4 or 5 gold trades from all of the coins I got from them.

The monster hunt already started in my game. Good news is, the old tokens you may have in storage from previous monster hunts are still eligible for trades in this event. Flygers come from cows and pigs so bring as many of those animals out on your board. I collected around 3-4 flyger tokens from slaying one flyger. Collect 200 tokens and you can craft your own flyger in the trade wagon. I did one silver hunt trade and it gave me apples, oranges, dark seeds, more tokens, and 2 marble walls. Not bad for a start! Skunkupines, dire boars and fang beasts also gave all sorts of tokens.

My personal opinion is to go for the research centre.
The cooking camp doesn't give you anything new - just another place to cook items we already have.
And with the disappointment of the Baron's tent recently, and the randomness of the appearance of alicorns etc in there, the research center is a better option to get daily alicorns, as you know that once you have enough gold tokens , you can craft them. It doesn't rely on luck, as the tent does.

That was the first thing I bought with the gold troll tokens. There are 7 things it doesn't make that the kitchen makes. The First item and the last 6 items are not in the Cooking Camp. It's great for making feast for the adventures.

There's a max on tokens. I think 120, so it's a way to gain more tokens and other items while you build up staff token supply for the gold trade. Staff token drops are not as plentiful. Check first page post on all the trades.

Don't park your Trade Wagon near any beast slaying activity. You could easily lose out on many tokens. Happened to me several monster hunts ago. If you're close to maxing out while slaying beasts then you'll be able to do a trade.

For me, the only advantage is to spend some of the tokens if I've reached the max on two of the three. For example, if I've got plenty of shields and swords, but not enough staffs for the gold trade, I'll do one of those trades so I can keep hunting without 'wasting' tokens. This happened more in previous hunts, when staffs were hard to come by. Since I purchased the beastbane display, I have plenty of staffs.....now I seem to be mostly waiting on shields.

I would suggest to consentrate on collecting from the cows. they spawn Flygers which you need for the Flyger Token collection and also spawn Fangbeasts. That way your're doing 2 goals at the same time with the same energy.

Cows are great.. but you need about 20 of them out. I wouldn't consider it a waste as the Flyger Tokens are needed as well. Players love the design of the Flyger as they have been introduced before in other events. There was a request if we could keep one as a pet in our kingdom.. and kindly.. S8 has made this possible. (Thank you!)
Princess Lorelei's Fountain drops also Gold Tokens but not every time and ONLY during Monster Events, with a 5hr timer.
Beastbane Statue is the only source that gives the possibility of Gold Token drops when Monster Hunts are finished, once a day.

It's on purpose as crafting the Gold Tokens with the supplies collected out of season.. there is a shortage of Shield Tokens as many are needed and max number of 120 in storage finish quickly.

I am enjoying this event. My only goals are to finally clear my Loralie goal and hopefully get a Flyger.

Currently, with the spawn rates, it looks like everyone is in charge of their own destiny here.

I'm level 39 with no extra energy sources so I am very happy to have a goal that is attainable while other players also can work toward something they want. If I get the fountain early enough, then I'll work toward making gold tokens for the next monster hunt; always looking ahead :).

Just adding my thoughts.
1) Thanks S8 for this monster hunt. Thanks for bring back the energy crate reward.
2) I am having fun so I purchased the energy pack and had a blast for 15 minutes. I may just do it again.
3) I also decided to purchase some gems and get the beastbane ( this also prevented me from losing earned gems while madly running around my queendom)
4) Time will tell if I wish the event was longer than a week. Right now I think it will be too short because the hunts are just too far apart.
5) Consider keeping the trades in the trade wagon open outside of the monster hunt. This could lead more to purchase the beastbane.
6) Consider having a monster or two drop tokens outside of the hunts. That way we can earn tokens and use the MRC outside of hunts. I still have many creatures to create.

Just as a side note, I keep my beastbane display thing out all of the time and collect from it daily. Sometimes nothing, sometimes a silver token of some sort, but I also get gold tokens. I actually started this monster hunt with 55.

Don't park your Trade Wagon near any beast slaying activity. You could easily lose out on many tokens. Happened to me several monster hunts ago. If you're close to maxing out while slaying beasts then you'll be able to do a trade.

Used the few energy from the 40 that was over to do some things with my kingdombuildings. No time to harvest, no time to visit all my animals and slay some fangbeasts and flygers....
Only able to get 4 trolltokens for ?5,49.... And no coffeebreak, I clicked as fast as I could, but the game was sooooo slow and the timer was sooooo fast!

Is this what everyone calls fun? Or what are the usual results and what did I wrong?

The gems are to craft Lorelei's Fountain. Go to first page of this thread and click on link to Fountain. The locket is for something we haven't reached yet. The Fountain has a random drop of a gold token only during the monster hunt. So far I've gotten 3 from 4 collections which is better than average. Last hunt I think I got at least 10. Beastbane is also worth it if you have or can buy the gems. Mine dropped at least 20 gold tokens and I maxed on sword and staff tokens in the time since the last hunt.

That was the fastest 15 minutes I've ever spent. Lol!
I chose to spawn flygers until I ran out of cows, then I fought a few purple golems. I'm not sure how many gold tokens I crafted, but I was happy with my results. I have crafted my flyger and a unicorn, so now I'm concentrating on the daily challenges, and maybe crafting another flyger.

I do find that the dire boars and fangbeasts are rather scarce. But IMO the fangbeast challenge doesn't reward all that much anyway, and the ability to fight extra purple golems gives me most of the tokens I need for trades, so I'm happy with the flyger tokens and energy crates.

I don't think there is any wrong way to monster hunt, that's the beauty of it for me; everyone can choose what exactly they want to try to get and work towards that. I bought a value pack yesterday and today, here's what I do:

When my horses are ready I buy the value pack and tap a horse, after defeating the golem I quickly tap on the trade wagon. If I don't have enough to do the gold trade, I do the bronze trade then after collecting I quickly go and defeat another glimmer golem. Doing this today I was able to defeat 8 glimmer golems and 1 blue dire boar. This resulted in me getting 7 gold coins.

If I were going to use the value pack for general tending of my queendom I would tap all my buildings then pull down my notification bar so I didn't have to wait for my character to walk to all the buildings and all the drops would be gathered in one fell swoop.

I hope this was useful, but more than that I hope you keep going and discover your favorite way of monster hunting so you can get the full joy of it!

I have both, haven't noticed any big difference in energy part, both drop energy every day 4 or 8, 10---etc, in super rare cases even 100.

Thx for your tip about the notification bar! But now I think my game really was slower then it used to be too. I did the same thing after every monster I checked for possible tradings and did 3 glimmer golems less then you did. And now everything in the game (like the walkings), still seems to get so much slower then usually...

Bought the bundle and used the endless energy. I must have the Flyger and already have 109 tokens in just 4 hours. By the end of the day, I will use gems to get the rest of the tokens I need to get the flyger. Probably will not have Internet access for the rest of the vacation, so I must do what I must do.

Just so that y'all know it: When you update the game to the mermaid version, you'll lose the ability to buy sword tokens and staff tokens with gems. The only way to get those tokens now (outside the hunt, of course and the beastbane display) would be to buy shield tokens with gems and do bronze and hunter trades.

Looks like you're right, I'm sorry. In the mermaid version, the green tick marks have disappeared indicating you have enough of the item. This confused me. Apparently, when you don't have enough of an item, the button to buy with gems is still visible.

Adding my voice to those very happy. I am really enjoying that i can chose what I want to do to get monsters. I find that very freeing.

Bundle did disappear before time was up, but I was surprised by how many energy crates I had so may not have bought it anyway. I am slowly working my way through those, want to extend my fun over the whole week!

Biggest decision is how much energy to use to clear trees etc from the new expansions - but as I said, I like having choices :)

Yes. This caused a bit of confusion (in this thread) earlier on as they weren't in the trade wagon. And in the adventures, the ticks don't appear for crafted items but do appear for coins, which is more confusing.

They might (???) have done this to make the gem button (for things we don't have enough of) more noticeable but , if so, it just looks somewhat odd.

something similar happened to me while cruising in Alaska. sit out on a balcony whenever you arrive in port and perhaps "borrow" internet access from an unsecured wifi ... restaurant, etc. likely has this. best wishes and enjoy Alaska! it is incredibly beautiful!

I have all three, and they have never dropped anything, and there is no timer on them now.

There are 3 types of Hunt-related statue's
* Skunkupine-, Fangbeast- and Direboar-statue. These have a 22-hour timer and drop tokens during monster-hunts. These were (if I recall correctly) obtainable during the first 3 Monster-Hunts.
* the Season 5 Training-dummy, which during the hunt has a chance to spawn Fangbeasts. Also a 22-hour timer.
* 4 statues called Season 1, 2, and 3 Slayer Statues and Season 4 Baron Statue. These don't have timers and don't have drops.

Hope this clears something up.

I've been here before the first monster hunt (tho tbh I didn't really participate as I was in school and I didn't want another kitchen) but I'm finally all in this event!! After seven seasons lol. I only collected once, but mine only dropped 4 energy + spellbound dew, no token, so I guess the token is not a guaranteed drop.

If I were going to use the value pack for general tending of my queendom I would tap all my buildings then pull down my notification bar so I didn't have to wait for my character to walk to all the buildings and all the drops would be gathered in one fell swoop.

You don't even have to use the notification bar. On IOS, I just press the home button and immediately restart the app. You can also press the 'social' button within the game, although that doesn't work all the time.

There are 3 types of Hunt-related statue's
* Skunkupine-, Fangbeast- and Direboar-statue. These have a 22-hour timer and drop tokens during monster-hunts. These were (if I recall correctly) obtainable during the first 3 Monster-Hunts.
* the Season 5 Training-dummy, which during the hunt has a chance to spawn Fangbeasts. Also a 22-hour timer.
* 4 statues called Season 1, 2, and 3 Slayer Statues and Season 4 Baron Statue. These don't have timers and don't have drops.

Hope this clears something up.

On iPhone or iPad, you can swipe from the far low of your screen up to half way, and get a iOS menu-thing. This triggers Castle Story to finish all planned tasks at once.
On all devices, when you plan your actions (tap everything you want to collect), then go to menu, then go to social, everything is collected at once too. (Unless you just loaded the social screen a moment before, then you need to go from "community" to "neighbors" to have immediately collection).

My game really is faster today, so that 15 minutes was at the worst time and not only a feeling because of the timer! But that was only 1 thing....
I don't have many energy-givers, so I hate it to use my energy for an event on anything that doesn't give me anything for my main game.
And I love to work on different things, not a week only on 1 thing!
I had (needed) crops ready that had a chance for skunks, but I don't need skunkupines this hunt! And the others crops are maxed!
I can use a lot of milk! And the cows gave me nearly every cow a Flyger, so after the 2 big monsters for day 1 I only fighted Flygers. And more Flygers.... And after a day I wanted to do something else, but the only interesting thing now is Flygers and if I'm out of the Shieldtookens I tap on a horse and next 2 or more hours of energy I can't do anything else then slaying against that 90 points thing that always shows up every horse!
Fun for me is using energy partly for harvesting, for water, for animals, for petals, to fight a monster if it shows itself, just a little bit of everything... But now I click 1 or 2 times and I have to fight another monster all day! So maybe I have to stop after a limit every day and do something else to enjoy the game too...

I'm so glad you found the solution! And also bummed that I didn't think of it sooner....it's been too long between hunts.
This was a common problem during some of the earlier hunts and after your post about storing them, I remembered the forums advising people to place them in storage and take them back out in order to get the timers. Please, SW could you add this tip to page one?

The statues were also offered for gold tokens in the trade wagon for a brief time. (I remember some players buying them accidentally!)
I wonder if those purchased ones work the same as those that were won?

I know that, but I wanted 1 flyger, and you never know if they do anything about the chances to get one. 😉But I was so surprised why everyone talked about fun! I understand everyone (me too) is happy that it's easy to get the things during a timed event! But I can't say this is fun... For me this is the worst work you can give me on a workingday: 1000x doing the same simple thing! (Just like the 1000 stones and trees we have to shop most events...) First hunt I was able/had to do more different things to get the dayly quests done.

Not sure I've seen this mentioned so posting this for others as unobservant as me!

I didn't realise the cap on flyger tokens was 200 (ie the same as the number needed to craft one) and was holding off crafting one until overnight as it takes 4 hrs

So just realised I have been fighting a few flygers and not getting tokens. Hope this may help others avoid doing the same thing. My flyger is now being crafted :)

I have been inundated with goals related to the trade wagon, yet there is no trade wagon available for purchase or otherwise anywhere on my game board. I'd like to know if I am just spinning my wheels and wasting energy points accomplishing different tasks related to the trade wagon, if there is no trade wagon available to me.

My goals are to craft 1 Flyger and 1 unicorn then collect gold. I purposely avoid the cows and horses when I don't want to see monsters.
I assume there is a cap of 99 gold tokens.
I would craft another unicorn, but I don't want to deplete all my spellbound dew right now.
I have actually been able to do elven trades during the hunt.
So I guess I choose to choose my battles.

I guess I see hunts differently - as something that can add value to normal game play given we can get to the stage to craft daily alicorns in the research centre that give energy.


And I love to work on different things, not a week only on 1 thing!
I find this hunt gives me the opportunity to do different things as there are lots of ways to spawn beasts - and lots that don't when I want to do other things.


I had (needed) crops ready that had a chance for skunks, but I don't need skunkupines this hunt! And the others crops are maxed!
Skunkupines may not be required for the daily challenges but they still drop tokens, so could still be useful to fight. So no need to hold off planting/collecting those crops necessarily.

I think what others have suggested, have a monster parked when you collect from horses etc, would work well. You can then defeat it when you are ready to try and spawn more.
