At this point, I have no idea how many battles I have actually had against glasswing, as my game seems to glitch after every single battle. I am pretty sure that the last battle didn't record, as whilst the battle arena tells me I have to wait an hour, my Diamond dragon is no longer exhausted. Unless the game glitch gives me an unprecedented win against glasswing, I'm betting that loss won't be being included in their statistics. I have been inviting random strings of characters after every single battle just to try and ensure the result is pushed through to the server, and that time it glitched during that time. Currently it seems like every time I harvest food, it somehow is updating my goal book, and that update is rolling back the last several actions I've taken. Prior to that, it was that flipping "x-other s8 game please play" pop-up (cos making the one game I want to play unplayable is totally the way to convince me to play another game I would only dream of playing for DS gold) and it is happening currently EVERY SINGLE HOUR!!!

I pitted my 12 Mithril against the Mithril and it was tight but won.

Looking at the roster for this tournament, I decided it was finally time to raise my Glasswing to 15.

The investment in the Ophiuchus was redeemed, satisfying a Bingo challenge for a Zodiac win. My lvl 7 Ophiuchus put down the lvl 15 Illusion nicely, with one M.

Disposable Fire Strategy: Use whatever your best dragon is (Diamond, Infinity, etc) and then while that one is healing, use a level 1 fire dragon. Costs 100 coins to buy, has as much chance as almost every other dragon in the game against Glasswing, and instead of taking 2 hours & 500 coins to heal, takes 100 to buy and 8 seconds to hatch a new one each time. I have just beaten Glasswing with a level 1 Fire dragon, and this is not the first time against Glasswing, and I also use it against other tough to beat dragons whilst my top fighters are healing. Another plus to this strategy is no long spa queue. Just remember it will take on average about 10 battles, and that does mean sometimes it might take 2+ days to beat, because it is the toughest dragon in the game.

ETA: Forgot to say, not my strategy, shared from a genius :)

Is it just me or is this tournament much harder than usual? Last one I ended up finished way early and only had to heal a handful; this time around, almost every match is taking down my best fighters regardless of level and I still haven't made it to round 10! It's getting a little ridiculous.

Keep trying, it can take a lot of tries. That's why the fire 1, because it costs 100 to get, instead of 500 and 2 hours to heal each time. But you are working on a low probability, so it can easily take upwards of 10 tries. Good luck, hope you beat it soon :)

The Glasswing beat my lvl 15 Glasswing twice. It also beat Helios, Achilles, and YingYang. At that point I was stuck on Bingo, and needed either a Coral Dragon or a win from a Music Dragon to move forward. Since my attempts at getting the Coral had just given me two Nights, a Penumbra and a Night Imp, I decided to cut my losses and give my Music an ultimate victory.

The Dark Orchid also beat my lvl 15 Glasswing but not my lvl 12 Harmony Knight.

I usually don't try for the tourneys cause I've yet to get one of my dragons to lvl 15, but I really liked this one so I'm trying (plus sadly at lvl 183 & I'm just learning to lvl up my champions for these tournaments lol) *thanks to finally doing research & you all being so helpful! Anyways, I thought I would help since Glasswing wasn't terrible for me:

Glasswing - (lost with Glasswing12 bmb), beat with Harmony10 bmb :)

Disposable Fire Strategy: Use whatever your best dragon is (Diamond, Infinity, etc) and then while that one is healing, use a level 1 fire dragon. Costs 100 coins to buy, has as much chance as almost every other dragon in the game against Glasswing, and instead of taking 2 hours & 500 coins to heal, takes 100 to buy and 8 seconds to hatch a new one each time. I have just beaten Glasswing with a level 1 Fire dragon, and this is not the first time against Glasswing, and I also use it against other tough to beat dragons whilst my top fighters are healing. Another plus to this strategy is no long spa queue. Just remember it will take on average about 10 battles, and that does mean sometimes it might take 2+ days to beat, because it is the toughest dragon in the game.

ETA: Forgot to say, not my strategy, shared from a genius :)

Sorry in advance for the ranting but MAN, I am super frustrated. As many others are in the same situation, I am now on Day 3 of battling that piece of poo Glasswing.

I have gone through Diamonds, all my Champions, Sphinx (since it was mentioned earlier), Little Hero, The Dark One several times, Fires at least 7 times, etc

This is doing the arena EVERY bloody hour as much as possible, for now onto 3 days. No player should have to spend this much ridiculous time on a SINGLE dragon.

If it were a bit closer to the final boss round, I would consider an ultimate at this point because this is just mind-boggling. But I would have 6 more rounds left and don't want to get stuck yet again, wasting that ultimate for nothing :/

BAH. Sorry guys. Just so frustrated because this always seems to happen when I try my hardest to do a tournament and 90% of the time, come up empty handed and completely run out of time.

a_beautiful_day, you might try maturing a few dragons to lvl 13. That has a pretty good return on investment, oddswise, I think. I had almost 2 million apples. Getting my Glasswing to 15 and Huntress to level 10 took about half my stores...Grrr... and has yielded marginal satisfaction over their previous levels.

Can the mods please bring tournament battles up seriously with the Dragon Story team? Everyone is beyond sick and tired of this. Every single tournament there is one or 2 champion or diamond high level dragons that can take up to 30 attempts to beat. This is top level players using maxed level dragons with the best chance of 25%. This is not confirmation bias. It happens repeatedly... it's a pattern. A pattern of taking advantage of players. Enough is enough. Please do something about it. Either the team is complicit in this and the mods are getting fed a line or there is bad code somewhere.

FINALLY beat Glasswing after over 72 hours with Guardian Angel lv 12 but that was about my 6th try with that dragon...
Hope the rest of the tournament goes smoothly but not looking forward to battling Barbarian!

Sorry to hear it Heather. It unfortunately happens to everyone. I use nothing but the dragons with the best chance (lvl 15 Diamond, Infinity, Passion, Soccer at 25%) against the lvl 20 champion dragons in the tournaments. I've had loss streaks of 30+. The math doesn't add up. We've tracked it over long periods of time across several accounts. It's unfortunately a mechanism of the tournament's and we can only voice our problem with it. There is a similar issue with trying to breed goal dragons for Bingo and Dragon Tales. It's unfortunate because it only puts people off and affects the overall health of the game.

I agree, chuckyt888, the numbers don't add up. An average number of the owners of lvl 15 dragons should be reporting success within a few matches, against these lvl 20 Guardians. I shouldn't have zero super rares with 20 boosted breeding cycles, just trying to get a stupid Ice Breaker out of five possible outcomes. I keep level four, common, one color, breeding dragons, and get a half a dozen high-hour super rares just trying to breed a common Coral for Bingo.

I've pretty much lost track of all the dragons I've tried against the Barbarian...Achilles, Diamond, Ignis, The Dark One, Valiant...are some.

Either nobody is listening, nobody cares, or they think we are stupid.

After defeating Glasswing last night, was disheartened when Barbarian kept beating me today - fortunately with 35 minutes to go Guardian Angel did the trick for me (just like against Glasswing!) so I paid 2 gold to speed up the timer. Jungle dragon is in storage now :)

I know the feeling of losing 30 or more times to one dragon and it's not right at all. We already lost the 5 or 10 gold for beating said dragons and now they're made purposely harder. No one should be stuck more than a day on one dragon and something definitely needs to be done about it. It's not like the majority of the people that play this game have exotic dragons to beat a Glasswing or a Dynasty. However, I have a compromise on that issue - Why not lower the healing time to 30 minutes or lower the healing time to 10 minutes like in Fantasy Forest Story and lower the time between battles to 30 minutes instead of an hour?

Good suggestions! I would vote for lowering the healing time even if it's just by 30 minutes. I think that might actually motivate people to spend a few gold bars to speed up the battling rounds since they have their best fighter ready to go at it again. I know they reduced the amount of gold to speed up the healing, but if I'm going to spend gold on healing too then I might as well just ultimate the dragon and get a guaranteed result. As such I've never spent gold to speed up healing.

I also didn't take this tourney seriously since I had Easter plans and it's impossible to juggle both. The dragon looks pretty mean, but not pretty enough to make spending gold worthwhile for me. Strangely I managed to beat Glasswing on my first try with a Diamond 15, however by the time I got that far up there was only a few hours of battling left.

I think they should incrementally lower the price for the Ultimate with each successive loss, (to a particular opponent, and resetting to 30 with the next opponent), so that even the most frugal players can practically earn their way to the end of the tournament with a little time spent between matches. About 2 bars per loss, seems fair, or about the same rate that you earn Rushrooms.

that's a very unique and different idea... but that would be harder to implement than just changing existing variables for the healing rate. It does sort of indicate that hard work can win out, but going from more than 24 loses, to a maximum of 14 losses... not sure that s8 would like to make it that much easier. it also takes away some of the incentive to get these special battlers for the arena
