Seems like they're taking an idea from FFS, with battling the prize dragon at specific intervals. It doesn't make much different to the difficulty since the lower levels are write offs anyhow, but I guess it helps "advertise" the dragon as you get to see it in all it's forms. It's a nice touch I think. Same deal advertising the LB dragons in the tourney.

Looks like they're tweaking the difficulty in a different way. It's a 5 day tourney instead of the usual 6. Am going to fight harder for the dragon though since it's a nice design.

I'm surprised that even works effectively. I never throw one of my champions against another champion. it just seems a waste to send them to the spa, when they would be very useful to have available after I clear that champion round.

So far, I beat every one up to the Second Limerick with one application of Magic.

The Second Limerick fell to mB from my lvl 7 Skull.

The Mithril took down my lvl 10 Crusader and Diamond Prism, so I'm not totally convinced about that chart on the first page. I finished the Mithril off with my lvl 10 Achilles, mB.

The Mythic was no match for the lvl 12 Gentle Knight.

The Cornucopia took down my lvl 12 Gentle Knight. I'm waiting the 2 hours to try that one again, because it made the least sense of all. *The Cornucopia beat the Gentle Knight again, so, because I needed an Olympus win for the Bingo, I set my lvl 10 Achilles on him, and he went down with a single M.

For the Pterodactyl, I needed a Stone win for Bingo so I hit him with a lvl 10 Prism, winning with Mb.

The Garnet Dragon fell to my Diamond-Air hybrid, lvl 10 Gold Dragon with a mB.

Yup my Passion KO's about half the time. Only once has he has to go three rounds. He's well worth the two years trying to get him.

If you have Prankster then use it against itself. If not, I would use a dragon with a black/green combo like an Artifact, Troll or Hunter or a white/green like a Fuzzy, Pegasus, or Elder.

Just beat Highland with my level 14 Lost Love. If anyone has trouble with that clown then I suggest using a heart type (some used Passion) like Passion, Leftheart, Rightheart, Lost Love, Cutie, Love Letter or that ultra rare one from Dragon Tales.

For the Good Luck Dragon, I needed a Cosmic win for Bingo. I used my lvl 10 Stellar Aurora and got it with Mb. I'd call that "synergy".

The Rogue went down with mB from my lvl 10 Passion.

The Night Bloom fell for my first required Green win in Bingo, with my lvl 12 Harmony Knight...M

The Harmony Knight then provided my second Green win against the White Bengal, with a mB.

I needed 2 Black wins for a triple Bingo so I used the lvl 13 Prankster against the Prankster, for a mB victory.

I let my lvl 12 Glasswing remove the Moon Petal from my path with a Mb.

The Henna went down for my second Black victory, with a mB from my lvl 10 Circuit.

My lvl 7 Amethyst dropped the Nordic like a rock with a single M.

Sigh, sadly another rigged tournament. The last tournament to win Glider was uncharacteristically tough with a 30/14 win loss using tried and tested methodologies. With this one, I currently on a 24/14 win loss and since round 20, it has gotten markedly tough with a 5/10 win loss record so far. Feel like I'm one of those profiled players that they want me to ultimate out. Really don't want to and didn't really want to play this tournament. Just wanted to get through and finish it so that I can battle normally for Bingo and other objectives. TL is really taking the fun and relaxation out of this game. Many of us play to relax outside of work and don't play this game full-time. I'll keep on going with one day left to see what happens. Time to stop supporting Storm8 and find a more relaxing game.

It was fun up until the Battlesteed, and then it just turned into boring loss, after loss. Up until then, I thought I was making some intelligent choices, and taking a few risks on some novel combinations. I tried like types, unaffected types, and types strong against Black magic, but the results were always about identical, against that lvl 20 Guardian. By the time I got past it, I wasn't even interested in the Tournament anymore.

Did this really end yesterday? I don't remember seeing it counting down the hours until it was done. I thought I'd have today to finish. I'm so bummed. Can someone please let us know if this is correct?

★ think they made it end earlier. It might be exactly 3-days but I seemed to find the overall time shorter than usual.. cos it's almost 10 drag battles a day for a total of 30 drag opponents lol ★ thought it was 5 days previously .. ★

★ just sidetrack a bit .. we also used to get gold reward for winning against Key milestone battles, such as champions .. now there's nothing lol ★

There was no countdown timer. It said 1 day last night and a few hours later it was gone. Did they do this on purpose? Is this another type of Gold Trap using trickery? I hope not..
S8 has made some poor decisions in the past, but this would be an all-time low.
Hope they fix it. Or give refunds to the people that used gold..

Yep, the duration of this tournament was shortened to 4.5 days as compared to previous 6 day 30 round tournaments and certainly I feel some rigging has been done to make it tougher from previous ones. I managed to finish with 2 hours left without having to use Ultimate and an all time high win/loss record of 30/19. In particular from round 20, the win/loss record for me was 11/16. Certainly takes the joy out of playing. Hope you were able to finish the tournament.

Why did some people not get a count down timer on the last day?

They normally finish in the morning my time, having started at 6:30pm. Not sure exactly when they finish as I normally finish them before, but they finish hours earlier than most other events, which normally finish about 18:00/6:00pm

Can't really say for my own experience. Life was getting a bit busy so I speed up a few earlier rounds just in case. Limerick is a pretty dragon and wasn't going to risk not getting it. Now that there are no more GPDs for me to collect, I can afford to spend a bit of gold here and there for convenience. I pretty much speed up the early rounds until I hit a loss and had to send a dragon to the spa. Kept my spa going full time. I finished up a few days earlier thanks to that.

Thanks for the reply Elsa, but why did people not get a count down timer in the last 24 hours?
On 4/8 the timer still said 1 Day for myself and apparently a lot of other people too. I only had two battles to complete. Thinking I would have a whole day to finish I didn't try to speed up anything.

Hrm...looking at it, everything on the back-end looks normal. If there was an issue the timer it would be the same with Glider and Fir since their start and end time were the same.

I was taken by surprise when I looked at the timer and it said that I had 2 and a half hours left, and the Highland Dragon was kicking my butt. I had to ultimate past him and I finished off the Limerick with the same lvl 7 Skull dragon that I had used all along on him.

I had fun during the parts where I could roll my Bingo challenges into the tournament. It gave the whole thing a bit more character.

I think we need more weapons, more armor, and co-op play if we are going to keep getting lvl 20 guardians. Call of Dragon: Island Warfare, anybody?

I will document this the next time with pictures if it happens again. Since others are reporting the same issue this seems to be a problem. I didn't spend gold, but it's unfair to the people who did...
