I wasn't around when they were first introduced, but I was able to acquire a Sphinx Dragon awhile back on a Spin to Win. Hey S8, can you bring them back for a little while along with the habitat?

I'd love to see the Ancient Egypt theme revived for a Leaderboard event, with a couple brand new dragons as grand prizes and the Mummy, Cleopatra, and Sphinx or Pyramid used as the milestones, as well as the habitat. The old deco could be used as prizes on the wheel. All of those dragons and deco are very attractive and I'd love a chance to try to win them. I have long admired them while visiting friends.

Yes new Egypt types would be very cool !!! Still would be nice to see the older ones and the habitat, not just for new players but for those of us old players who just couldn't get them because of the platform we choose to play on

Thanks for the info! I did not know that. I never tried breeding egypt before since there was nothing special to breed. Makes me wonder if I should try now to see if anything mysterious pops out onto the nest... :rolleyes:

I suspect the soccer/football dragons will return next year for the World Cup in Moscow. I have Germany and Brazil but no habitat. Hoping for the habitat and maybe a New Russia Dragon.
It would be perfect for the Egyptians to come back this year. There are so many options for new dragons too.

No, they were part of a World Event that also had the habitat as a prize. From memory, you couldn't actually breed or buy them. I never bothered to put them out so all, including the habitat are still in my storage.

Look under the 'All' section of storage. :) It's easy to skim right on by stored habitats because they look smaller in the storage unit (and the lack of any coherent order or consistency in storage doesn't help with locating items, either- wish they would do something about that).

I'm not happy with this change at all! I'm so mad that I fed him up to a 12, thankfully I didn't have the food to go further. What a needless change for something that was working just fine. And yellow, of all the colors to add - why not black or pink or I don't know, red. Anything but yellow (or white)!

I raised my Pyramid to 15 because everyone said it was great in battles. I guess I wasted a ton of food on a useless fighter. Please change it back to a pure Egyptian-type!

I can think of a Quick and equally Brilliant fix for the problem that they created by making the Pyramid Egypt\Yellow. Just give every Champion, Diamond, Olympus, Passion, and Soccer dragon a Pink or Black element to balance what they took.

That won't work. The specialness of the ADIPPS lies in the fact that they are pure, super- or ultra-rare, sub-minor types (Achilles fights like a pure diamond-type because the olympus-type in it is a null). Adding ANY color to these particular dragons (other than a null-type) dilutes the purity, which dilutes their unique power against the Champion-type.

This also explains why the Metal Dragon is not in this group- it's only a rare.

Something I think a lot of folks don't understand about the ADIPPS is that they aren't some sort of 'super fighters.' They have one, specific purpose in battle: fighting Champions (especially at level 15, where they get a 15% boost in odds). They are just average fighters when up against other types of dragons (except Diamond, Infinty, and Achilles- they are great against diamond hybrids, of course).

What I don't understand is, after all of the nice posts that people made, thanking them for bringing back the Pyramid, why would they cripple it like this, instead of just putting the habitat on sale for a couple of hundred bars of gold?

I can't believe they made the Pyramid into a hybrid. I was one of the people that leveled up to 15 as soon as I earned it from the last leaderboard.

If so many people were having problems with finding or having sold their Eyptian habitats why not just add the habitat to the market for purchase instead of changing the dragon completely? I'm so disappointed- disgusted really. I want that food back that I wasted thinking I had a dragon that was a champion fighter.

Agreed! All because some people can't figure out their storage, they take something great away from everyone else, without warning. Changing the dynamics of a game that some people have spent real money on. This is probably the most dissapointing thing they have done (and there are lots).

Fix the root cause of the problem - storage! Add a tab for habitats or make the only option all. Don't nerf the game because some people just don't get it.

I agree. My suspicious nature leads me to thinking that the change has less to do with the habitat issue and more to do with the strength it had in the arena.

If the habitat was the issue and people were foolish enough to sell it, a habitat bought with gold or coins would be an easy option for S8.

Even giving them the benefit of a doubt, they've hurt far more people than they helped.

I'm not even sure if they still have anybody on staff who could repair a blunder of this magnitude. Recent performance in the staging of events would indicate not. At best they have somebody running the show who doesn't understand us or the game.

How could they restore Pyramid now that they have allowed people to place them in Yellow habitats? Even if they released a legacy, Egypt-only Pyramid, we'd still be out the time and food to raise them again. By their own standards of pricing, we've lost hundreds of dollars worth of value.

I don't think that they will quickly hear the end of this, either. It will be noticed by a lot more people come the next Tournament. I'm not sure that even our best intentions and advice are going to save this company from themselves.

Well, I'm voting with my pocketbook. I'm not going to try in this week's Bingo or the Leaderboard, and I don't care about another rigged Tournament. The arrogance and dismissive attitudes are difficult to take. This is my last S8 game. When I finally abandon it, it will be the end, for me. They should check my expenditures and take note that I'm not talking about an insignificant amount they will lose.

I really like a lot of the dragon designs. They have some great ideas for extras, I like the tournaments, and the dragon tales, and the world events. It's a shame they're created by a company who fails to understand the value of good customer service.

They did the same with Amazon quite a while back. It was a craftable Champion dragon so lots of people had it. It was about the same time they introduced Bingo. They made it a Red Champion hybrid instead of pure champion. I thought it helped with wining battle with Red dragon type goals in Bingo, but now I see how it also changes a previous precedent.

I agree with this. To go even further, my suspicious nature tells me they have changed the rule so that Passion dragon is less effective in the arena too. I have two Passions, which is ADIPPS as you know, and both did poorly in the last arena and this one. I couldn't figure it out, but I think they have randomized this dragon even more so that it loses more. Just my feeling but it's been frustrating putting it into battle and see it lose over and over.

Food is the scarcest resource other than gold, and lots of people 'wasted' in the last few weeks on what they thought was a wise choice on a premier champion-fighter... and Storm8 just snapped their fingers and took away the champion-fighting value (and all those eaten apples) with no warning.

I spent real money on the Leaderboard, Farming, and Adventure Leagues to get the Epic Egypt-only Pyramid Dragon, his family and habitats. I see no acceptable reason why I should ever have been put in the position of needing "compensation" for actions that were none of my fault.

I can't use the Egyptian habitat as an example since mine has been placed since the event, but I did just recieve an important item from an event: the Pillar from the World Event (the one that gives points). I went looking for it in storage and it took a few minutes to find. It was near the bottom, in the 26th row out of 31 rows of items. Why? Why was it placed so randomly? Why was it so far down and buried in the enormous number of items in my storage? That makes absolutely no sense.

Idk. It's not like the ADIPPS give that much of an advantage that the developer would intentionally nerf one (and only just one? so far, at least- but, if they start nerfing the others...) At level 15, the pure Pyramid only had a 25% chance of winning against a high level Champ. That's not terribly impressive and, because of the way the battle algorithm works, it can still take 20+ rounds to hit the odds jackpot against that Champ. Sure, 25% odds are better than 10% odds, but it's not really a game changer. If the pure Pyramid had a like 40+% chance of winning, and players were just mowing down level 20 Champs, I could see the developers wanting to nerf it. But, that wasn't the case.

I think this is more of a bumbling, lazy mistake, and not a nefarious plot. It is very possible the developers didn't understand the significance of the Pyramid's typing. When they made the Pyramid, it was simply the pure dragon of that limited type (every type has a pure dragon or two), and I doubt offensive battle odds were on the designers' minds back then. Plus, the layoffs. How deeply do the employees currently working on DS really understand the game? Judging by the all the strange bungling of the events in the past few months, I'd say not well.

If tournament revenues are indeed declining, I'm inclined to think it's due to event fatigue. I'm a long time player and stopped trying to complete the tourneys a couple months ago. It's just too much with all the other high-stress events. Something had to give. For me (and several of my neighbors) it was tourneys. I don't need any more Champs, I have enough of them and habitat space is limited. The recent non-Champ bosses have been nothing special, imho. The gold rewards disappeared, too. Because of all this, I have zero incentive to complete tourneys- and I'm sure I'm not the only one who feels this way. I do the easy rounds to complete Bingo tasks and to collect pieces for the crafted dragon, but that is it. And I don't miss the tourney-stress one bit.

I am glad newer players have a chance to win Champs. That's really the only positive thing I can think of to say about the current state of tournaments. If a boss comes along who really knocks my socks off, I'll complete the tourney...but sadly, that hasn't happened in a long time. :(

I chalk it all up to laziness and impatience. Some players couldn't be bothered to look around at what they had, and sold off their prizes before they understood the long-term benefits. We have another Egypt type dragon coming from the current World Event, so the whining about only having one dragon in the habitat doesn't hold water either. They could have gotten more Egypt types if they were so inclined, anyway, or just have left Pyramid and the Hidden Oasis in Storage for a rainy day. Then S8 took the easy route to appease those people, penalizing the rest of us, without a second thought, apology, or attempt to rectify the situation.

I've been opting out of many things since they did that. It's not something that is easy to forget.
