Troubleshooting!
If you do not want your facebook picture showing on the leaderboard ranking screen, (in your game) go into Settings and turn off Facebook. There is no reason to have this feature turned on anyway as Castle doesn't have a FB interface. Any problems, please post in the Bugs Forum, not in thread.

Leaderboard Information

* There will be three different tier levels: (Levels are correct -Pika)
Low Level : Level 17-26
Mid Level : Level 27-45
High Level : Level 46+
All prizes are the same for all tiers.
* There are only 20 players in a group, randomly selected around your level
* Remember you can use the boosts from the Apothecary to help speed up your workshops and kitchens!

How to get Royal Points:
1. Complete Spring Faire deliveries - craft items in either the Workshop, Potion Shop or Magic Forge and sell them for points on the leaderboard screen
2. +15 points | Gain 15 points every time you collect from the Serene Circle (2x2)
3. +4 points | Gain 4 points every time you chop Cherry Blossom trees
4. +1 | Gain 1 point every other tree chop (includes dead trees, ferns, patches of grass etc)
5. +1 | Gain 1 point every other time you mine rocks (all rocks counts)
6. +1 | Gain 1 point every other time you fight monsters
7. Win Mystery Chests
8. Collect beads from rock outcroppings
9. Collect dried flowers from Iceland Poppies. (Poppy shrubs work too, but not every time)

Spring Tea, 1 hour - 1 dried flower, 10 white petals, 5 water | +20 points

Workshop
Fur Satchel, 4 hours - 4 beads, 4 fur, 1 super glue | +10 points

Magic Forge
Nature Amulet, 15 minutes - 2 beads, 4 sap, 3 jewels | +x points

The more points you gain, the further you move up the Goal slider. If you reach certain milestones, you get a prize.

S8 can't remove you.. you have to do it yourself as you are publishing your own photo through FB. Go to your FB and sign off.

Sigh. I'm not a big fan of these competitions, but I wouldn't mind so much if they changed up what we had to do at least. We just finished an event that required a ton of rock chopping so I'm already maxed on stone and blocks, and I hate chopping trees because you have to grow the darn things first! I'd much rather these events focus on things I do anyway - collecting from stables and hatcheries, ponds, animals, even some of the other buildings. And I'm not going to spend 150 gems on a circle of rocks that will be useless afterward and looks too much like the mushroom circles- if it was something really cute or unique, I don't mind spending the gems. As much as I like dragons, I'm probably just going to collect whatever points I happen to during my usual play and leave it at that. I appreciate having something new to do but it's too much like what we just did for me to get really into it.

Don't know if I'm in or not. Started a little but I want to wait until goals are posted to see what is involved & how much is needed. For sure if I play I won't be first. That place is taken by someone who already has almost 1,000 points. It shows a boost next to my name nut I didn't get one. If resources needed are anything like last event, I'm out for sure. Complete [] that our games tent doesn't drop points for this event and they want is to spend ANOTHER 160 gems on something that will be useless after this event. I bought the games tent because I thought it would drop for every event. Sorry S8. I will not be spending 160 gems on your serenity circle. And I will probably only be halfheartedly playing this event. Although the graphics seem cool the last event prizes were severely disappointing and nowhere near worth what I spent on gems to achieve them.

As a very long term player, I'm really disappointed with the direction Castle Story is going in. I really wish the developers would stay true to the original concept of the game and bring back the STORY. The main story line has not received an update since last August (that's over six months). I REALLY hate these new leadership board events a lot. For me Castle Story should be relaxed... about going at my own speed and designing my kingdom. At least with the community events, even though they are timed, you get to work together with other kingdoms to solve a common goal. Even though it stressed me a bit because I have a lot of work to do (and not a lot of time to play), I loved the funny frog story line so much for Ivy that I invested in some gems to make sure I got the frong. I love the witty dialogue and funny characters of the game. Some of the recent game additions like the Arboreum are really cool. I want to know what is going on with the Fairies. What are we going to do about those Elves who have been robbing us blind with unfair trades all these months. What about the Baron? And Thomas and Agnes. What is the Young Ruler's true identity? There are so many areas to be explored. THESE are the things I want to spend my money/gems on. I do not need more random decorations that I do not even have room for in my kingdom because I am still land starved. And I definitely, do NOT NEED these competive events where I have to fight with other players to get the top prizes. It is completely unfair because of the the unlevel playing field between players. Even though I have been playing a lot, and have a number of white alicorns. The top kingdom in the last round had 3x as many Ali's as me, not to mention purple alicorns and other resources that I don't even have. Many of the kingdoms that did worse than me did not even have as much resources as me. It's silly and ridiculous!

I am officially not participating in the fair. I am satisfied to get the one permit and the end. Saving my time, and my resources (read: real money) for castle story events that are FUN!

First off.....good luck to all those who are choosing to compete in this one. The dragon is really quite cool looking. And the crafts seem to be much more reasonable than last time.

The following statement is my personal opinion only, and is meant as feedback on the Castle "Story" game. It is very likely it will be interpreted as a complaint. Sorry about that, but I do promise it's a one and done thing. I feel S8 needs to know why I choose not to support the game financially as long as it is on the present course.

The last leaderboard was obviously a money maker for S8. What a pity, because now we're stuck with them.


I am participating to the same extent I participated last time. I will try to make it to 3000 points in order to get the personal prizes. And the ONLY reason I'm participating at all is because the story line has been abandoned and there is literally nothing else left for me to do in this game. For me it's either play under protest or just quit the game all together. (I'm not quite to that point. Yet.) However, I will not spend one dime or one gem on this event or any like it.

Also....I seriously wish whoever loves programming rock and tree chopping for Every. Single. Event. would quit. Please find a new job elsewhere. Might I suggest a gold or diamond mine? Or maybe the forestry service?

If you click on the picture for the leader board in your game... It actually explains how to do everything..to get points. By collecting from rocks and Iceland poppies... You can craft things that they ask you for in the points section. There's a point section, a rank, a prizes, goals, shop and then a how to.

I noticed players in my team who had 0 points last night, have been removed and replaced with other names this morning.
Thus I assume.. if you don't want to participate in the group you have been listed.. all you have to do is keep your points at 0, and you'll be moved somewhere else.
It's to discover if you continue to keep your points at 0.. if your name keeps moving in different groups during the week.. or eliminated all together?

If you want/have time to read through the last LB event in forum.. there were posts explaining how to remove your FB pictures. I remember posts of players who were successful in doing so.

In DS I have to start the tasks for Bingo, but the LB points in the events come with nearly everything I do, can't stop that. IN CS the LB points only come by things I usually never should do.
I guess you mixed the Bingo(leaderboards) and the Leaderboard events in DS...

I am not a big fan of LB events, but lets be honoust that dragon really looks neat. It will be great having a new kind of dragon in our kingdoms. The old ones are really old :-). My heart sank again when I opened my game last night not only because it was another leaderboard event but because 2 hours earlier I used all my energy. I'm going to do what I did last time and work to finish the 3000. Then decide where I am in the leaderboard to see whether I'll continue. Based on progress so far I expect I'll be way down unlike last time. But I did buy the Serene Circle. Not because of the points it can give but it'll be my very own stone henge. The sorts of directions I love. A reason I started playing Castle story in the first place. My favourite buildings to look at are the Tabernum and the Glimmergate. Now I have a third. The only thing I won't be doing is. Speeding up my shops with runes. I've barely got 50 since the last event. So nowhere near back to where I was. So I suspect I'll just manage the 3000 if I'm lucky we will see.

Plus, I REALLY HATE THE IDEA OF COMPETING AGAINST OTHER PLAYERS! So, despite all the negative feedback that we posted and posted for the last event, we got the same kind of event right back. I now think that the only way to fight that is NOT PARTICIPATE IN THE RACE! I will stop right at 3000 points just to get a satire friend for the one I already have. DONE!

I honestly don't understand how ppl don't know how to play this. It's probably to most straightforward event there is. All you have to do is read all the tabs in the event.. Collect the things they tell you to , they also tell you where! Make the crafts that the green gather button asks for in the points tab), then press the quite obvious green "deliver" button to get your points once you crafted what they're asking for... In the points section... Want to see your prizes and how many points you need... Go to the prize section! Same goes for your rank! Just click that tab!
I just wish ppl would start looking through things a little before asking questions that are plain and obvious.

And to get one so quick after the last, it looks like we're destined to get one every month or so. I think the problem is that there are so many participants that we saw having tens of thousands of points. My grouping had me at 4400 ish and I came in second. The leader had around 5000. But I know mine was positively easy. But clearly many people spent serious money and the proof is this event is back so quickly. I think the first event (sun stones collection) we had didn't show as much money as the next was Halloween that's 3 months. So clearly this brought in money. Just checked. It was this time last month. Yes it brought in money.

Ok that knocks my strategy out then if they change players on each of our boards. Oh well...I don't like competing against my own neighbors but it is a relaxed event if you just go for the prizes up to 3000. It is a super cool dragon but I think I will still pass Just to take a breather for the next event. I do like to be able to opt out like this without missing part of the story line or a nice building.

I am sitting this one out - as i did the last time. The timed events/leader boards etc. do not interest me. If i want this kind of thing their are loads of games out there - better organized and better suited to it.

What attracted me to CS 4 years ago was that it was essentially unique. The quests, the story lines, the sheer pleasure of achieving long term goals to develop your own kingdom made it quite addictive. Now it is rapidly becoming a run-off-the-mill boring game like so many others. I am rapidly loosing interest. For the moment i will keep tending my kingdom, building up my stocks and hoping for better times... however unless S8 have a change of heart and bring CS back to the game it was, i will eventually throw in the towel and give it up. It is such a shame!

Rock circle appears to be about the same size as a pond. Too bad. I'm just not excited about the goal prizes. Overgrown fountain to go with my overgrown benches. Sheesh!

the forum is designed as a place for asking questions when you don't understand something. please try not to be negative here. in fact, if you go to the "how-to" tab and click on "spring faire deliveries", it does nothing. it does not bring you to the tab where you see the deliveries. in the last event, i assumed deliveries meant the elven deliveries because there was no other obvious place asking for deliveries. so i would say this is not plain and obvious. if you don't want to take the time to help someone by answering, that is your choice here in the forum. but it is always nice to be respectful of others and their questions, as you would be in real life. i hope.

I got that wisdom stone thing a while ago. Struggling to see what the point of it is. It's nicely drawn, but not something I'd want on my board and you can't even chop it. I keep pecking at it in the vague hope that it might turn into something. Has anyone found a use for it? Hope the rest of the prizes are a bit more interesting. I wasn't impressed to get just one of those trees in the first mystery chest.

I guess this gives those of us who've completed the story something to do apart from endless trades to get expansion permits, and I'm sort of enjoying the crafting bits - if only the drops from the iceland poppy weren't so measly.

I have a question: are the individual rewards random? Meaning if I reach a chest will it have the same drops as everyone else or are the drops random?

Not participating. So far all my points (18) are from monster battles and I needed those for a quest.

Has anyone figured out if it's an actual dragon like the others or a special dragon that isn't worth the effort?

But I did buy the Serene Circle. Not because of the points it can give but it'll be my very own stone henge. The sorts of directions I love. A reason I started playing Castle story in the first place. My favourite buildings to look at are the Tabernum and the Glimmergate. Now I have a third.

I hate LB event WITH PASSION and so I am not participating in this rat race but I really loved the circle and consider buying it for the same reasons. Could somebody please post a screenshot. I'd be vary grateful as I cannot make up my mind.

It kinda looks like a mushroom circle until you zoom in unfortunately. And it'd be nice if you could put the wisdom stones in the center. :)

As a very long term player, I'm really disappointed with the direction Castle Story is going in. I really wish the developers would stay true to the original concept of the game and bring back the STORY. The main story line has not received an update since last August (that's over six months). I REALLY hate these new leadership board events a lot. For me Castle Story should be relaxed... about going at my own speed and designing my kingdom. At least with the community events, even though they are timed, you get to work together with other kingdoms to solve a common goal. Even though it stressed me a bit because I have a lot of work to do (and not a lot of time to play), I loved the funny frog story line so much for Ivy that I invested in some gems to make sure I got the frong. I love the witty dialogue and funny characters of the game. Some of the recent game additions like the Arboreum are really cool. I want to know what is going on with the Fairies. What are we going to do about those Elves who have been robbing us blind with unfair trades all these months. What about the Baron? And Thomas and Agnes. What is the Young Ruler's true identity? There are so many areas to be explored. THESE are the things I want to spend my money/gems on. I do not need more random decorations that I do not even have room for in my kingdom because I am still land starved. And I definitely, do NOT NEED these competive events where I have to fight with other players to get the top prizes. It is completely unfair because of the the unlevel playing field between players. Even though I have been playing a lot, and have a number of white alicorns. The top kingdom in the last round had 3x as many Ali's as me, not to mention purple alicorns and other resources that I don't even have. Many of the kingdoms that did worse than me did not even have as much resources as me. It's silly and ridiculous!

I am officially not participating in the fair. I am satisfied to get the one permit and the end. Saving my time, and my resources (read: real money) for castle story events that are FUN!

I'm with you. I love the story elements. I detest all the crazy monsters that don't fit the story and take so many taps to ****. I love the low key elements that just take time and some dedication to move through the story. When I have time I can play more, when I don't then so be it.

Also, I would like to see some of the important buildings come back into use. I wouldn't even mind recycling some events so other players could finish them.

As for the poppies, I have 10 out and I average 1-3 dried flowers per collection. Pretty sad drop rate imo. Working on my 5th individual prize. First two chests gave energy crates. One 10 and one 25.

Don't forget the stupid roost.
I almost regret opening that area because the roost takes up the whole square, isn't used at all outside of the ONE quest and can't be stored at all. :mad: I hate it so much. I have zero use for dragons and manticores after that one "hatch a dragon" quest is done. It's so dumb.

the forum is designed as a place for asking questions when you don't understand something. please try not to be negative here. in fact, if you go to the "how-to" tab and click on "spring faire deliveries", it does nothing. it does not bring you to the tab where you see the deliveries. in the last event, i assumed deliveries meant the elven deliveries because there was no other obvious place asking for deliveries. so i would say this is not plain and obvious. if you don't want to take the time to help someone by answering, that is your choice here in the forum. but it is always nice to be respectful of others and their questions, as you would be in real life. i hope.

It is the 1st tab (POINTS) on The Spring Faire! page. You earn the points by filling these deliveries. Hope that helps.

I am sitting this one out - as i did the last time. The timed events/leader boards etc. do not interest me. If i want this kind of thing their are loads of games out there - better organized and better suited to it.

What attracted me to CS 4 years ago was that it was essentially unique. The quests, the story lines, the sheer pleasure of achieving long term goals to develop your own kingdom made it quite addictive. Now it is rapidly becoming a run-off-the-mill boring game like so many others. I am rapidly loosing interest. For the moment i will keep tending my kingdom, building up my stocks and hoping for better times... however unless S8 have a change of heart and bring CS back to the game it was, i will eventually throw in the towel and give it up. It is such a shame!

I keep wondering why do the prizes include trade tickets when we haven't had any expansions for months & months??!!?? Could we please have some, S8? All these items in every goal that take up so much space & end up in storage after it's over....SMH.

Also, I'm hoping this dragon isn't just a bush as pointed out by another poster earlier in the thread & then just drops varied colored petals!!

I still have lots of land to expand but if they were smart they'd open up that area with the mysterious building. That would make people happy. But I was expecting a monster hunt when they sold those troll tokens back in January and it never happened. I don't know what I would have done with only ten gold tokens - I need the armored ali and he's 15.

This one finally drove me to delete the game. They have lost the story line. Events are boring and repetitive. But mostly, they are just a blatant gem grab--without giving anything of value in return. I'm going to miss it.

Another Leaderboard - whatt!?
First of the last one was the first event I didnt do. I kinda like LBs in FF cause you can get great milestone prizes by playing normal. But I was always glad cause I thought: At least they cant start LBs in CS - was wrong there. I dont know how this ,version' of a LB should be fun. Doing the same useless stuff over and over again - I hate this event!!! Especially since I didnt finish the last event - I really wanted the frog :( (lv 50 player) I like the last milestone but I have no idea how some of you already got 3000 points, I tried for the tree and it costed me 100 energy - stopping there because that was energy consuming and boring as hell -.- maybe until the next treasure but for sure not by chopping!!!! I hope S8 stops this stupid events again and brings an update on the storyline (yes what about the building standing there and waiting to become useful) or a troll hunt. I finally want the alicorn! And Im still short on some coins.

If I remember correctly, as this problem occured last LB event and players were able to change their picture.. you have to go to your FB and sign out your game there. Sorry if I don't know more.. it's just what I remember from last LB event.

The chests are not the same drops for everyone.. they are random. I have compared my drops with a nbr and they were completely different. As for the Dragon, like the Steed, I guess we'll have to wait till the event expires to see what it drops.

I have noticed much difference in the LB contest compared to the last time, at least in the group I'm in. We kind of wait for each other.. and if above in position.. just by a few points. We're actually taking turns in 1st place.. only by a few points. No crazy race, no wild spending of gems, just playing with what we craft or chop. I must say it's quite enjoyable this way as even not knowing each other.. do play the same way.
Maybe after more LB events.. we'll all play with the same idea.. all place in 1st position with the same points.. all to receive the 1st prize. That would be fun and a great laugh.

This one did it for me. I have been around since the beginning (before Thurston). I buy 250 gems per month. I have never missed a goal. I have completed most of Shibuyacloth's advanced goals. There used to be a story and a sense of progress. Now it is just being endlessly chained to the device on time sensitive and energy intensive goals for uninteresting rewards. I have over 100 Alicorns and even I run dry on many of these recent quests. This game used to be about relaxing, not competing. On top of that I can't play the game on my iPhone 4s during the day without storing every single non-essential item, so my kingdom is a mess and I have no power to provide my residents with an aesthetic experience. It is no fun any more. So I deleted Castle Story from both my devices yesterday. Today I had so much free time I didn't know what to do with myself. May Storm8 treat those of you who remain with respect. Goodbye. I am free!

I'm the same no actual buying of gems for me. I spent a bunch about 200 on valentines items I couldn't craft and have already made abut 100 of those back in questing and trades etc and yesterday got the serene circle just because it will be my very own stone henge. Lol. But I'm pleased to say so far it appears my game is going the same way as last time all going through the motions no apparent excessive gem spending. Leader is on nearly 1100 I'm just around 950 in fourth place. Anyone's guess how it will end its pretty identical so far a few potentials for leader etc. Let's see what the next few days bring.

One thing I do do is hold back on the trees. I want to keep one for decoration after the event so only chop one of the two I get from the goal point. If I get more I hold those back and wait til the last few hours to then chop those.

It would be fun if everyone would choose to do that. My current group is very different than my previous one (I was with the overachievers last time. I wasn't one of them :rolleyes:) 1st place had well over 60k.
This time has been exactly as you described until this morning. We suddenly have a front runner with a pretty big lead. I just hope they aren't wasting their money on a prize that isn't worth it. I certainly have no plans to challenge them.

I would love to see the result of a true cooperative group where all 20 pick a set number and stop. It doesn't even have to be 3000. Wonder what S8 would do with 20 players who all stop at 100? :confused:

My group definitely seems to be more along these lines as well, having had the last group who were miles ahead with thousands of points. It'll be interesting to see what happens when we all reach the 3000 marker, I for one intend to stop then either way!

I think the requests are really random again. That makes it very hard to plan ahead.
I haven't NOT had requests for any of the crafts, I've used them all. But I've had several requests for those masks (yuck), the spiritual beads, 10 plain beads and 5 dried flowers. Not as many for the necklace, tea or the fur pouch. And no timed ones at all...so far. (Someone mentioned getting one for glimmer dust)

First, can points from special items such as the Cherry Blossom Tree be carried over to the next contest? For example, if I were to save the Cherry Blossom Trees I already have will I be able to chop them and still receive the extra 4 points they give or will they become regular trees after the contest is over? Also, will the special items that you can collect from every few hours or so still work for the next contest? No, each leaderboard has stand alone items and their points are only for the current leaderboard.

They become regular trees. They won't give you points next time.

No. same as point 1. the Serene Circle will revert to decoration at the end of the leaderboard. It won't be any good next leaderboard.

And the first in my group has made his first move. Last night at 11pm I was in first place on about 1400 (about 6 of us have been vying for 1st place) and 6 hours later a guy that had less than 500 yesterday in 16th place is now on over 3000. No message on my wall stating (s)he's stopping there so guessing we've got at least 1 gem spender in my group so will see if any more heavy hitters make their move. If another comes running and they start going nuts with gem spending I'm definitely out with 1st and 2nd place maybe even further. But I may continue as the trade tickets can come in handy as I've still got squares to open up. Think I'm nearly there with them but these events are definitely helping with that. Let the game continue.

Not making the same mistake as last time. I've been playing this one but I am not using any of the boosts from the elves as I don't want all my silver that I saved up since to vanish again. I'm in the middle so far and fine with that. Happy to take some tickets. I don't mind looking and making the items a few times a day but by no means am I playing obsessively.

I still wish we had the monster hunt instead and do hope they come back. I remember all the people who complained about it but I always enjoyed those and I have an inkling those who complained, most would rather take that one as the lesser of their two evils.

Maybe the game is reaching its end. Everything good has a point where new ideas run out and this game has been running a long time. I sure hope that's not the case and what is good is that there is enough to keep the game going even if new ideas are gone, but we still have a few loose ends to tie before it would become a game that just ran.

So far I've been between 2-5 in my group. I'm only playing to get to 3000 and the female satyr. And I agree with an earlier poster, if I don't think the individual prize is worth it, I'll sit the next one out.

All pretty laid back in my group. No one is going crazy, and probably half are not bothering to play this at all.

I'm just playing normally, just doing the occasional delivery to get extra points, no way am I going to waste gems on this event. I'm not planning on finishing first or second for the dragon or a silly cup, or even getting enough points for the Satyr. I'm only aiming to collect a few energy crates to store for future worthwhile events such as a monster hunt, so looking to just be in the top 12 at the end.

Anyone who doesn't wish to take part in this event can do what I did during the first LB event - Delete the Valentines edition of CS from your device and use the Castle Story Winter Edition instead.

Me too, much more requests for spiritual seeds and masks as well as dried flowers than tea and fur satchels. I also had requests for glimmerdust, living wood, wisps and sap, I think. The fact that no matter how fully stocked up you are, you start running low on glimmerdusts, fur, living wood and sap etc... so you can't keep stocking up on deliveries and delivering them all at one go. It will be difficult for people to suddenly jump tens of thousands of points with a single boost in the last 2 hours when they deliver loads of items. Unless of course they buy lots of cherry trees and have dozens of alicorns.

A few on my leaderboard use boosts daily, I noticed points suddenly increasing by 2000 in a boost per day have decreased to 1000 today so deliveries must be reduced due to lack of resources.

So this is the first time I've really participated in the LB event (I took a break from the game last year and I'm just back a few weeks) I love the look of the over grown fountain and I really love the Satyr, I've no interest in the dragon, it only looks okay and I certainly don't want a trophy?! I think it's strange that's even a prize or am I missing something there? Anyway, I've quit already...lol. This isn't for me.

I buy and spend gems but not on this kind of event and never 'against' a fellow player.... if they want something bad enough to gem it all the way to 9,000 points they've got it. I don't like being lumped into a group with a player like that, it's just not an even playing field. It doesn't make me competitive or make me want to buy gems, it just bores me. I had decided to stop at 3,000 points as other players here have suggested... I only really want the Satyr too, but I won't even make it that far, the living wood is my problem. I had 99 when I started this event and I'm now down to 29... I decided to stop. I'll never replace them as quick as I'm using them and they're so hard to get to begin with, I just couldn't keep using them. I'm getting a lot of deliveries for the masks, some 4hr timed deliveries for living wood - which I did once and regretted it - 10 living wood for 30 points...meh. Maybe for a hundred points. I'm currently building the Royal Maze Garden so I need those living wood.

Without delivering the masks I won't make it to 3,000 points. I'll keep delivering the easier stuff as I have time and see how it goes but I'm not pushed about it now. If I'm not gonna get to the Satyr there's no real point giving away all my resources, nothing I'm doing is helping the community either, it's all just for personal goals so it just doesn't interest me or make sense to me to babysit my iPad for this kind of event.
A community event with these prizes would have been nice.

Yeah the trees aren't bad, if at the end of the event the Satyr is within my reach (after casual play) I'll chop the two free trees I got, I'd consider buying a few more if I needed them because I'd really like to get her. On a plus, I just got 181 points from a chest so I'll at least reach the overgrown fountain. Currently 936 points, my delivery is still looking for living wood from me.

I'm not sure if I'll make it to the satyr because 3000 shields is a lot to do and I'm not half way there yet. I might use a few gems to get a boost towards the end if I'm nearly there - I've still got a tree to use up (though I'd quite like to keep it and have it out on the board) and might try a bit of stockpiling or lining up three 30 shield trades ready go, but think that it's a bit risky. It's hard not to run out of the other things needed to make the items. Trying not to use any gems though - better to save them for something I really want.

It looks as if everyone in my group is playing a similar game at the moment. Almost everyone is participating, but no-one has gone crazy with the shields.
It's annoying that most of us won't get the dragon, but if you ignore this divisive element I'm actually quite enjoying this challenge and making the different items. I'd still prefer us to get story updates though. Or even a monster hunt - and I can't believe I'd EVER wish for a monster hunt!

I like the quests where the final prize is possible for all players who are willing to put the time and effort and even gems to get it. S8 needs to see that most of us players probably feel that way. If it costs a little real money for say a giant golden hummingbird sundial, it's still WAY WAY less then in real life lol so for you virtual landscape enthusiasts [like me] I care more about decor value than function ;)

Is anyone else finding the points are acting wonky? Last night I had 1784 points, I collected from a maple tree and nothing else, and when I checked again I had 1785.
Earlier today I had one energy left so I chopped the cherry tree and it gave me 8 points. As soon as I had more energy I chopped again and it gave me another 8 points then when back to giving 4 points a chop. And just now I chopped an entire rock outcropping and got 7 points. (Started with 1953 and ended with 1960)
I know I read that rocks are supposed to give a point every other chop, so it should have been 10 points.

I'm not complaining because I did get the extra from the cherry tree. Just very confused.


Ps. It's nice to know the dragon is a real dragon and not a topiary. I may be in the minority, but I like its unique look. It's a shame it's not available for everyone. I would definitely consider spending gems for it if it were in the market or part of a real update, but I won't use gems to beat out other players for it. Plus, I refuse to financially support these types of events. #playingnotcompeting

I haven't been watching the actual points but have noticed something strange with the leaderboard itself. Last night when I went to bed, I was in fourth place. Magically while I slept, I jumped to second without acquiring any points. I am now back to fourth which is normal since I can't do much while I'm at work.

Is it possible that a couple players deleted their game and others were rotated in???

How do I submit a ticket? I just acquired 2008 points and got the mother tree. When I tried to place it, my game refreshed and it disappeared. It's not on my board and not in my inventory. I did force close my game twice.

I'll wait for you... it should take you a couple of minutes to do. Delete your app, go to your history and reinstall. It's quite safe - you won't lose any progress.

It was a prize from the Midsummer Pyre Festival, a world (community) event in August of 2015. And for sale during last year's Black Friday sale. It's very pretty, but huge!

The individual prizes, fountain and mother tree, from this LB are very pretty too, (and they have royal points!) but finding space for large items is becoming quite problematic. I'd like to decorate more, but the useful items with needed drops are more of a priority for me personally. We sure could use some expansions to put the permit prizes to good use!

Yes my. Kitchen and workshop aren't as busy I keep a couple of those crafts in inventory and once that has happened I don't make anymore. And no, no boosts to speed up forge. Maybe this is S8's way of getting more gem spending! I did notice the only crafting building not to have a speed up was the forge who had 3 items to craft. I currently have 2 masks to make and 1 spiritual seeds, 1 mask clearly isn't being made.

If I have at least two obvious gem spenders I wouldn't go further than the 3000, I might continue to get as many trade tickets as possible after all, doing this can give light relief from collecting from cows and chickens every 2hours for the milk and egg trade all the time, but I wouldn't be competing with gem spenders. So far it seems both my groups from these events are going at a usual steady pace I thought there was a gem spender but think i'm wrong there. They've not increased their margin by any high standard. Of course it could all change in the last few hours. I just managed with my last mystery chest to get the two cherry trees so I'll chop them in the last few hours, see how that changes things but only because I want 1 for decoration - still got one of the free ones from the first goal prize and you can't store them so I'll ensure I keep one and chop the rest. The trophy is for decoration some might say for a show off, as I got 2nd last time but I wanted an area with the walls Castle and horse etc. I'm hoping to amalgamate my prizes from this event in to what is turning into my 'All Seasons Garden' but I need the time to move certain items to make way for some of the gorgeous prizes from this event. It's the trade tickets I really want would like as many of those as I can get. If I get 1st or 2nd and the dragon gives energy, great. If for the second time it doesn't give anything useful then I will seriously consider my time for the next of these leaderboard events. I might just park a troll every 8 hours or so, so I can't get any other monsters - I do the troll/monster trade a lot' we'll see.

I suspect s8 won't confirm this as it won't be good for the games economy but you can but try. At least if you do find that everyone does get the 1st / 2nd prize. Then you can pass the message on to everyone you compete with in future that message then gets out.

I have a few thoughts on the recent transition to competitive gameplay:

1) The employee(s) that came up with this idea deserve(s) a raise or bonus representative of their contribution to the bottom line. I suggest that you title this bonus: "blood money" as my current leaderboard is a bloodbath.

2) An example of bloodbath: I stopped to have breakfast and lost my nearly 7000 point lead.

3) As an accountant, I would **** to see your books. I get it. It's business, not pleasure, and you have investors of some kind to keep happy, including, possibly and hopefully the one reading this. I think that you are going about it with a little short sightedness that I will discuss in another point.

4) I've replaced my slacker honorable knights with the angry mothers of my fallen Amazons. There is, has not been, and will never be Honor in these games.

5) There will only be one, maybe two, out of your top spenders happy, and the rest left bleeding and disappointed. To put it in monetary terms to retain your attention; You might make a windfall now, but your long term and future will suffer. The accounting concept is "going concern." Allow me to explain. I was first place in the last competition, and by the grace of my blessed life born into privilege, and through hard work and smart use of personal funds, I WILL come in first this time as well. Please notice that I did not use the term, "win," because I in no way feel like I've won anything. I'm fairly certain that you feel you've won, however.

6) So back to the bloodbath that you call a leaderboard... I can almost certainly say that the obviously serious spenders on my board are going to lose this battle (even possibly the two that get a dragon) and become disenchanted with their once pridefully maintained empires. We, the Blessed, don't like reminders of failure like a second place silver trophy, or "Relic of First Losers," and will no longer be your top spenders to avoid being brought down. We will regret our time and money spent and only be driven to spend by our competitive natures again maybe once or twice more, and only if we get the shiny gold trophy called, "The Rest of you Losers Should Just Give Up Before You Even Pathetically Try HAHAHAHA LOSER." As you can see, I'm being pretty blunt and honest about where this is headed because after reading a whole lot of people posting how content they are with last place to make their point, I felt that you should also hear from someone not wired that way, determined to get the gold trophy, and yet still not left satisfied after the war.

7) I used to play, and spend money; a disgusting, disgraceful, embarrassing amount of money, on competitive PvP games like Left for Dead and Diablo. Appropriately named Diablo, because that's what the top echelon was, and I was one of them. I forced myself to give up competitive gaming because I realized that after a really long day at work, my choice of relaxation was actually not only more stressful, but keeping me more awake at night than my actual high stress job. Think upper five digits in the disgraceful money range. I stressed at work, while playing, while trying to sleep, always in the off-chance that someone else found a better combo of gear and surpassed me while I was away. I became a snob with who I would group with, and rage-played with the rest of them on the mic. One misstep and you are no longer top and life ends. Obviously, people like me should not play these games.

8) Top spenders in a game like Castle Story have a genetic need to compete. Until these games, I spent money to compete with myself to see if I could always get the top prize. If possible, for the sake of a challenge, I'd win it twice. I would leave happy and content that I spent money, got what I wanted, and won. I left happy with the game and myself, and was happy to return and spend more money, even if my style of gameplay has all of my useless tokens of pride tucked away in my inventory so that only I could look at them and chuckle happily at myself. I didn't even display my gold trophy from the first games until the middle of these games today, for intimidation. I even considered bringing out all of my past personal wins so that everybody knew who they were competing against to cripple enemy morale. I previously kept them to myself so my neighbors didn't feel badly. I like that me. That me wants to spend again. I thought that I was supposed to have friendly neighbors, and not bloodied enemies in this game. I really don't like what this leaderboard is bringing out in people. I even posted jokingly medieval trash talk on the boards of anybody looking like a contender. I have a few thoughts on the recent transition to competitive gameplay:

1) The employee(s) that came up with this idea deserve(s) a raise or bonus representative of their contribution to the bottom line. I suggest that you title this bonus: "blood money" as my current leaderboard is a bloodbath.

2) An example of bloodbath: I stopped to have breakfast and lost my nearly 7000 point lead.

3) As an accountant, I would **** to see your books. I get it. It's business, not pleasure, and you have investors of some kind to keep happy, including, possibly and hopefully the one reading this. I think that you are going about it with a little short sightedness that I will discuss in another point.

4) I've replaced my slacker honorable knights with the angry mothers of my fallen Amazons. There is, has not been, and will never be Honor in these games.

5) There will only be one, maybe two, out of your top spenders happy, and the rest left bleeding and disappointed. To put it in monetary terms to retain your attention; You might make a windfall now, but your long term and future will suffer. The accounting concept is "going concern." Allow me to explain. I was first place in the last competition, and by the grace of my blessed life born into privilege, and through hard work and smart use of personal funds, I WILL come in first this time as well. Please notice that I did not use the term, "win," because I in no way feel like I've won anything. I'm fairly certain that you feel you've won, however.

I can almost certainly say that the obviously serious spenders on my board are going to lose this battle (even possibly the two that get a dragon) and become disenchanted with their once pridefully maintained empires. We, the Blessed, don't like reminders of failure like a second place silver trophy, or "Relic of First Losers," and will no longer be your top spenders to avoid being brought down. We will regret our time and money spent and only be driven to spend by our competitive natures again maybe once or twice more, and only if we get the shiny gold trophy called, "The Rest of you Losers Should Just Give Up Before You Even Pathetically Try HAHAHAHA LOSER." As you can see, I'm being pretty blunt and honest about where this is headed because after reading a whole lot of people posting how content they are with last place to make their point, I felt that you should also hear from someone not wired that way, determined to get the gold trophy, and yet still not left satisfied after the war.

7) I used to play, and spend money; a disgusting, disgraceful, embarrassing amount of money, on competitive PvP games like Left for Dead and Diablo. Appropriately named Diablo, because that's what the top echelon was, and I was one of them. I forced myself to give up competitive gaming because I realized that after a really long day at work, my choice of relaxation was actually not only more stressful, but keeping me more awake at night than my actual high stress job. Think upper five digits in the disgraceful money range. I stressed at work, while playing, while trying to sleep, always in the off-chance that someone else found a better combo of gear and surpassed me while I was away. I became a snob with who I would group with, and rage-played with the rest of them on the mic. One misstep and you are no longer top and life ends. Obviously, people like me should not play these games.

8) Top spenders in a game like Castle Story have a genetic need to compete. Until these games, I spent money to compete with myself to see if I could always get the top prize. If possible, for the sake of a challenge, I'd win it twice. I would leave happy and content that I spent money, got what I wanted, and won. I left happy with the game and myself, and was happy to return and spend more money, even if my style of gameplay has all of my useless tokens of pride tucked away in my inventory so that only I could look at them and chuckle happily at myself. I didn't even display my gold trophy from the first games until the middle of these games today, for intimidation. I even considered bringing out all of my past personal wins so that everybody knew who they were competing against to cripple enemy morale. I previously kept them to myself so my neighbors didn't feel badly. I like that me. That me wants to spend again. I thought that I was supposed to have friendly neighbors, and not bloodied enemies in this game. I really don't like what this leaderboard is bringing out in people. I even posted jokingly medieval trash talk on the boards of anybody looking like a contender. I broke down and played but I'm not spending one gem. Going by my leaderboard no one else is either. Maybe the top person spent some. Some people are still at zero. They shouldn't have done this competition again. And I assume the dragons give off useless dragon scales.

That was a really interesting read from Ellie! Was wondering if the competitive players were enjoying this event.

I was able to get first in the last leaderboard as I have massive fomo but I felt INCREDIBLY guilty... it was a horrible 'win'. The sour taste of that victory was actually worse than my OCD of wanting to have everything. I couldn't bring myself to do it again, so like many I am sitting out of this battle. @elliejagh, thank you for sharing from your point of view. I often wonder what makes us play the way we do. I'm very non-competitive and even I get a little thrill seeing my name at the top of the leaderboard....followed by immediate guilt for getting there to the detriment of other players. I'm a mostly play-for-free player who used to spend a small amount each month to get new or helpful items that I had missed out on (since I didn't start until about 18 months into the game) but I won't 'reward' S8 by spending on these type of events for the exact reasons you stated. This is not the friendly little easy going, very unique, and whimsical game I fell in love with. Ever since we started getting timed event after timed event, it has felt like a blatant money grab, and I resent feeling like I'm being 'forced' to spend. So I stopped spending. (Oddly enough, their business plan had the opposite effect on me...shrugs.) Then along come these LB events which totally go against everything this game used to be about. I decided last time that I would play only for the individual prizes with no intention of competing against anyone but myself. So if I ever "win" one of these it will be because literally everyone else in my group did not play.

I took a screenshot of your post in case it gets edited or removed. I think S8 would do well to read it and take note.

For me this would be more okay IF they were using that money to continue to develop the game we loved (story line, expansions etc) along side these events.

But that does not seem to be the case.

So although not playing the event, I ended up with some points after restocking wood, stone etc after a few elven outpost deliveries and not having my troll parked, as I needed beasts for horns and tusks etc.

Was close to 100 points so chopped a bit more, hoping to maybe get more of the trees in the mystery chest just because I could (they are not the prettiest ones for sure ...) But just got points for the leaderboard instead :(

As others have said, if normal activity played a part then I might have been tempted to participate more and try for the fountain (only prize I like the look of) but will just enjoy looking at it when I visit neighbours kingdoms.

Someone had posted earlier in this thread that their leaderboard group did that the last time, tied for 1sts and all got the same prize. BUT there's no guarantee that this time, S8 hasn't change the rules so that just the first person to score the top score wins. It's a risk.
Something has been changed since last LB competition.
Last time I would be able to move up into 1st position and tie with the first player, exactly the same total, and see a 2nd, 3rd, etc.
This time when I move and tie with 1st position.. I see the 2nd position disappear and leaves 3rd, 4th, 5th, etc. Practically tying for the 1st position.. the 2nd place doesn't exist anymore.

The former competition I played was way up into unbelievable figures.. demonstrating clearly gems were used.

As there are spenders competing.. there are also players who just pay attention to getting the most out of their game by crafting and being stocked.
It would be very interesting if S8 put all the spenders in the same group. This I can already imagine, would have great returns for the company.. lol!

In my group, no one is even trying for 3000. It appears no one is actively participating and only receiving points from normal play. The top score is about 860. I'm in 13th with a whopping 232 points (half of which I received from a prize crate).

Ellie, thanks for your insight from a "spender". I understand your desire to finish first and now that you've started on this event you need to see it through. Next LB, you need S8 to see this isn't the way to earn money in CS. IMHO you shouldn't purchase anymore gems (after this event;) )so S8 isn't rewarded for completely changing Castle Story.

For those saying if you don't like it, don't participate...(I've said this before) we are forced to either participate through normal play or ignore the game for the duration of the event. I've got a lot left to accomplish so ignoring my game for seven days every few weeks doesn't seem like a good strategy for S8 to develop loyal players.

I think it's to cover any issues from the US changing to Daylight Savings Time not a scheduled maintenance. Yes they might use the time to do that, but from what I think I've read in the past it boils down to make sure we DONT have problems playing while the US time springs forward.

Fabulous! Absolutely fab! I too have a competitive streak but I also love the community spirit this game has. There are a few examples in real life where the people clearly have power to change things.

1. X-Factor Christmas number 1's one year the British public bought in a huge number a Rage Against The Machine single to keep the X-Factor hopeful from getting the No.1 spot for the 8th time in s row or whatever it was.

6. This I think will be part of the problem I came in second last time i don't buy gems, think I sped up a building or two, but for anyone buying and still losing. My god I don't know how I'd feel.

I noticed the ties in the last competition too. I was never anywhere near the top, but the middle of the group had ties, so there were say 3 people in twelfth place, then the next place was 15th.

I've often wondered at the mindset of S8 concerning generating revenue. I've mentioned before, I spent money for things I wanted but didn't have (harvest pergola, glimmerbat habitat...because I started playing too late) or couldn't win anyway (beastbane, golden mines).
It seems to me that offering an opportunity for more people to attain this dragon (or whatever the 'grand' prize may be in the future) would generate more income than deliberately excluding the vast majority of players. Based on the comments here, most people, after seeing the top spot reach tens of thousands of points, will not throw gems at it knowing there's no way to reach the top.

Same thing with offering former quest items.....I'd be curious to know how much money S8 could generate if they offered the Love Shack, The bountiful tables, the witches cauldron, etc for gems. People beg for these things and yet S8 chooses instead to alienate huge numbers of players with these leaderboard events. Some people pay once or twice, but eventually even they will get disillusioned.

S8s strategy reminds me of the story of the barber who offered a little boy a choice between a dime or a nickel every day. The boy always chose the nickel, and the barber thought he was stupid. When the child was asked why he didn't take the dime, the boy replied "as soon as I start choosing the dime, he'll stop offering them and I won't get a nickel a day anymore. I'd rather get 5 cents a day than 10 cents one time"
S8 you're getting lots of dimes today, but just think of all the nickels you're no longer getting.

I stopped at 3011 points. I have my satyr, let the chips fall where they may. I'm currently in third place, but I don't expect to stay there. Honestly, I don't care. The trade tickets are a joke...it would take less time and effort to earn them by doing normal play, like collecting milk and eggs. I'm fairly certain this is my last LB event. It wasn't fun and depleted my resources, but I didn't spend a single gem. Ha, take that Storm8!!! Now I'm free to go back to normal play, hooray!

I've been playing for the Satyr too. This morning I got her but I accidentally went over 3000. So I ended up with 3100. I have been second almost from the beginning and knew I'd drop once I stopped at 3k. And it didn't take long at all! Lol. I'm currently 3rd and really hoping someone else passes me up before this thing ends, I'd rather finish father down. IMO 3rd place is the worst place. No dragon, which I never expected anyway, but also no energy crate either. (Trade tickets are of little value when you have plenty in storage and no expansions left.)
3rd place really gets *****ed. :(

Not one gem spent either!! Woohoo! (In fact I've crafted 15 of them in the exchange thanks to all the rock chopping. :cool:)
