I have been trying to get on my game for 6 hours now. Its ridiculous. I've force closed. I've shut my phone down. I've even taken Mt battery out. This is bull. Fix this please. I'm getting really tired of this happening. Every time u have a tournament.

My fire and air dragons are lvl 15 and they do well in tourneys, even against champs.

A lot of people just use the first element to pick an opponent but I factor in all the elements of a dragon. For example: if I'm battling a Laserlight (White, red) I would use Apprentice or Beast (Purple, blue) because purple beats white and blue beats red. A lot of the times that kind of strategy will not be in the battle calculators.

I use the battle charts to help me pick an opponent. A lot of people just use the first element to pick an opponent but I factor in all the elements of a dragon. For example: if I'm battling a Laserlight (White, red) I would use Apprentice or Beast (Purple, blue) because purple beats white and blue beats red.

I like to try and make sure the magic of the dragon I use is strong against the magic of the other dragon, but I agree with Starship412, often the type charts give the best results. I'm using the suggested updated charts which take some of the newer types and treat them as if they were the colours of their magics. So, for example, treating Champion as black type. (This would explain why Metal has good results, as it uses light magic which is strong against black) So when I was looking at the last dragon, level 10 Huntress didn't seem such a good option against a white/green type, both of which are strong against black; and I went with level 13 Ignis instead, which won in one hit :)

Well thank you, but dragons I choose was also chosen with chart - but just didn't work as expected :( Some others choosen next worked, but it should not happen so often on same dragon - in our case Darkwing - Glasswing level one more, champion and rainbow to use against black and red - and nothing - that should not happen.

I would've chose a high level white/yellow dragon against Darkwing. White beats black, yellow beats red. Too many times one would think a champion would win in those circumstances but surprisingly they lose. This is why I have a bunch of champions but rarely use them.

Tell him to try a high level Forest. I've beaten Battlesteed in the past with a level 10 Forest more than once.

This has probably been one of the most easy going tourney's I've had. I actually had set my mind that I probably wouldn't finish as life was busy the last few days, but managed to finish just now. It was nice not seeing an Ultra Champion L20 near the end. The Rare L20 Champion was a relief. Good luck to all those still battling!

I'm glad Forest worked for you. I think I was between level 50 and 80 when I used it in the past. Back then I didn't have any Diamond Dragons and Forest was a shot in the dark.

That Sentinel has fought off my Achilles, Passion, and Diamond. I'm really looking forward to getting on with finishing this blasted thing. I need a battle to close out my Bingo card, so I don't have to breed even more pointless dragons.

I beat Sentinel in 2 tournaments with Night in one and Air in the other. At that time as well, I didn't have any Diamond Dragons nor any exotic dragons so I had to use the basics. Night beat it with 2 shots of magic and Air beat it bash, magic, bash.

I'll sure give those a try. Hybrids and Ultras are not faring very well. :/

The fun is over when the best that the game has to offer, that you developed with great effort and expense, won't make a dent in one of these steroidal tournament mutants. I decided to Ultimate out, and get back to my regularly scheduled regimen of breeding common dragons to sell for Bingo and failed attempts at breeding something new for a change.

I just want to get past this and put this dragon in storage where it belongs.

Yep, the 22 rounds made me suspicious and it interferes somewhat with the current Adventure Leagues / Bingo round.

I'm at round 17 (and have a "Win 10 Battles" task activated as well), and thus far in the tournament, I have experienced well above the average number of losses when compared to my other tournaments. I've also noticed when you are ahead in your Adventure League, more often than not, I would lose the first battle for that task. I've had 9 losses so far in the 17 rounds using dragons between 75 to 90% win probability. This tournament is definitely rigged for particular players that fit a profile. An example would be the L13 Darkwing where I used an 85% dragon followed by an 80% dragon and lost both times, and winning on the 3rd attempt with Rainbow Sentinel L15. Statistically with those win probabilities, the chances of losing 2 battles in a row is a measly 3% (i.e. 0.15 x 0.2). So, obviously it is not following the normal pattern / battling algorithm. Good luck with it. :-)

Finished yesterday. Battles seemed pretty average for me. Not having to beat a L20 Champ was nice as those are my usual hangups. The L19 one only took me two tries so I guess I was lucky there. Has anyone heard a reason why this new 22 round tourney? Especially for just a White/Green SR combo.

I just finished the tourney about an hour ago. Overall it wasn't super rough. The only dragons I had minor issue with was Feathered, Villaness, Ranger. I guess that was my "punishment" for not having issues with the champion rounds lol, which to my surprise went very well. My level 1 mystic on the 1st try beat the 2 champion rounds I put her in (that surprised the heck out of me). She might be a little champion-slayer and I hope she does well in future tourney rounds against champs if I choose to put her in. My Light Mother also did well for her 1st tourney as a epic level 10 dragon. My results are on page 2 if they're of any help. Good luck to everyone else still fighting!

I hope that I wasn't too harsh about the annoyance factor of a dragon that just won't go down. It wouldn't be bad if we had a separate arena to play these in, and it wasn't holding up my daily 5 minutes of breeding and hatching and 24 hours of waiting for something else to do.

The disparity from regular play is very amusing. I just had 3 Diamond types in a row. A Black Diamond 13 went down to an Angel 10 with one magic. A level 10 Valiant took one magic from a level 10 Achilles to drop. A level 13 Prism took one magic from a level 7 Crown Jewel to bite the dust.

Well last try this morning - kid with Dark One 6 took down Feathered. Light mother 10 and 8 took down Nature on main and secondary. Pitty that we hadn't more time this weekend :( but it was fun, despite unusual loses.

I feel for you. I did manage to finish the tournament with 3 hours to spare, but it took me 5 attempts before I was able to take this L19 Sentinel down, which hasn't been the case for me in my long battling history.

I suspect that the S8 designers have changed the tournament battling algorithm, starting with the 4 day Jaeger dragon tournament that started on 17th Feb. There was also a longer time between tournaments diverging from their previous patterns (i.e. a nice 10 day break) before S8 started this 4 day tournament. For both these tournaments, I suffered unusual losses (i.e. both in dragons used and the higher number of losses sustained). My win/loss records for these 2 tournaments were 18/9 and 22/14 respectively. Previous to this, with the utilization of my battling methodologies over the last 2 years, I have consistently been completing all tournaments (whether 12, 18, 30) with usually between 0 to 4 losses only.

The only exceptions were tournaments where L20 Glasswing dragons were involved. This, to me is an "anomaly" dragon introduced by S8 in October 2016 at round 46 of their first 48 round tournament to win the Dark Prime Chrono. In that tournament, I eventually had to ultimate out after 23 losses, and my win/loss record for this new type of tournament was an uncharacteristic 48/28! The Glasswing dragon when presented since has continued to be difficult to defeat (requiring a minimum of 4 attempts on 2 occasions and plenty more on others). Obviously, this is all rigged to extract as much gold as possible to complete tournaments. Anyway, hope you find this useful and good luck on future tourneys. Lookout for 4 day and 48 day tournaments as these to me appear to have been designed to be more challenging!
