Problems adding neighbors on iPad

how come i can't add neighbors with my ipad city story app? I only have storm8 user id's and the only option to add neighbors on thsi app is text or email - both of which do not work on this app via my ipad.

Go to "Social" then "Invite Friends" and you'll be able to add Storm8 IDs.
