Royal Games Prize Information

The Leaderboard works like this:
* Rank #1 - you get the major prize + milestone prizes.
* Points also drop from the Royal Games tree (choppable), Royal Games tent (all new decorations).
* There will be three different tier levels:
Low Level : Level 17-26
Mid Level : Level 27-45
High Level : Level 46+
All prizes are the same for all tiers.
* There are only 20 players in a group, randomly selected around your level
* Remember you can use the boosts from the Apothecary to help speed up your workshops and kitchens!

Dialogue:
Ruler: Hey Ivy, what're all these people doing here?
Ivy: Haven't you heard? The Royal Games are here!
Ruler: Royal Games?
Ivy: Yes! Kingdoms from all over compete to climb the ranks and win awesome prizes. I'm going to try and join this year. The grand prize is the CUTEST Jousting Steed!
Ruler: Hmm, I see. Maybe I'll give it a try. Where should I start?
Ivy: There's all kinds of things you can do to gain points. You can tend to your daily activities around the Kingdom, or you can fill special deliveries just for the Royal Games to gain even more points!
Baron: *Ahem*
Ruler: Uh-oh...
Baron: I hear you're considering competing in the Royal Games.
Ruler: Wow...word travels fast.
Baron: If we're to complete, we must rise to the highest of ranks! The people won't want to pay taxes to live in a Kingdom that isn't a winner.
Ruler: You said if WE'RE to compete, does that mean you're going to help us?
Baron: Sure, I'll be rallying you on from the stands. Best of luck!

How to get Royal Points:
1. Complete royal games deliveries | points displayed on screen | HIT GIVE! for points to count. note that Honey Cake deliveries are rare and allow you 4 hours to deliver the item. If you don't want to, this trade will expire and be replaced with a new delivery. There are also rare requests for long swords. They are worth 40 points and also have a 4 hour timer.
2. +15 points per hour | Collect from the Royal Games Tent
3. +4 points per chop | Chop Royal Games trees
4. +1 point | Chop trees
5. +1 point | Mine rocks
6. +1 point | Fight monsters
7. Win Mystery Chests | points will be displayed when opened

I noticed there are three new items to cook in the kitchen including pork loins and honey cakes and one other, I started those two, hopefully it was not for nothing, it was before seeing the update and I figured I needed them. Incase it's like previous trees (that you'll want to store later), don't forget to store it right after you place it - before you just leave it out as deco. (Unless you just chop it ofcourse)

You're only competing against the people on your list, so if your friend is not on your list your won't see them.

Figured out my problem was that it wanted beef stew (pic looks similar to pork loin) but when you click gather in the goal, it takes you to the kitchen on the first item which was pork loin. Needed to scroll to third item on list which was beef stew. Don't know if this is the case for you?

no.. being maxed doesn't matter neither in wood nor stone.. mine keeps increasing anyway while chopping. I would simply suggest to turn off device and let it rest for an hour. eventually when u turn on again and it's the same.. call for 'help' in bugs. it's an emergency.. lol!

I'm glad you said this. I was just coming back to mention that players might have to actually go to Facebook to log out of the game. Really, for those who want to remain logged in through Facebook, it should default to the game icon and make using a profile pic optional. I'm sure there are thousands of players and former players who are unaware that their Fa(r)cebook (nice one, Lorrainne! ;)) profile pics have suddenly been posted on Castle Story.

I'd also like to know are we actually in competition with other players or is it just to encourage you to get Rank 1. I suspect a lot of people if we are in competition with each other are going to lose out because those that gem through will always get the top prize.

Don't think possible for all to make agreement.. my first place of the group is more than a 1000 points ahead of all. Seems intentional to win final prize today! I don't like it either and for the same reason. I love the sense of community in CS and this event is contrary to the very structure of this game. I am not going to compete with the community. I will either stay well behind the leaders or I will just skip this entirely. It seems unfair to have us visit community kingdoms one week then be pitted against them the next week.

I think S8 made a big mistake in including leaderboard events in this particular game and I hope they don't bring this back again.

Whoops, look like I misread the numbers. Must have been 2/1. Only one was delivered. I crafted two lances and just now delivered one of the two. The card switched to the pork loin and the 1/1 was marked deliver, so I did. That card is again asking for a porkloin but kitchen is still busy with beef stew.

I too am sorry to see this event here. Both Dragon Story and Fantasy Forest have gone to OVERLAPPING leaderboards, community events, and/or storybook (chapter) events. The does go against the feeling of camaraderie and helpfulness that has been so much a part of this game. The kingdoms on your list are real, you can go visit them by pressing on the kingdom name.

There are 2 tiers to the leaderboard: 1. earn enough points to get the Royal Games Castle (you compete against yourself); and 2. Rank 1 or 2 to get the Jousting Steed (compete against your group). Whether you want to continue playing is your decision :)

Thx for the reply! It's on a timer, but I didn't check it when I put it out. Checked it just now and it's 21 hrs before it drops (whatever?). The castle itself is ok. It takes 9 squares of space, it's got a moat in the back with a drawbridge. HTH!

When a boost is active it affects all crafts. Doesn't matter if you started the craft before or after activating a boost. Also, you can see the timer going twice as fast so it doesn't immediately show.

Yes, items in inventory do count. I made an extra jousting sword and it counted the next time I needed one.

Don't think possible for all to make agreement.. my first place of the group is more than a 1000 points ahead of all. Seems intentional to win final prize today! That simply kicks everyone else out of the way. I saw that second place is not far behind the first.. so that means all the rest of the group can just stop where they are.
Tomorrow I study the case better.. to see what possibilities for others.. without gemming uncountably ahead, to this I don't agree. It's a mean fight and I don't feel comfortable where I am.

I'm not a fan so far. This kind of competition in a game that I have always viewed as being community focused, bothers me. I play this game to relax, visit with neighbors, work together to benefit all. Is this type of event so successful in the other S8 games? I know I don't have to participate. I do find it a shame that the things we've asked for over and over again are ignored though people have indicated that they would spend more real money on the game if we had them? Expansions, monster hunts, expansions, story line, expansions. Giving us a chance at decorations that take up space without giving us options to expand is ridiculous. Competing with other players, especially some who may have a total advantage from the beginning, is ridiculous. Purposely creating haves and have-nots within our community sounds too much like real life situations. Not enjoyable.
Ok, rant over. I hope the new jousting steed at least gives energy like Rouncy and Destrier do. The leaders will have earned it.

You open the chest and if you get an item, it goes in your inventory.

I just received some great advice from one of my neighbors. Play like it's a community event trying for the castle and see where that lands me. This isn't a long event. I'm not gemming and I'm not stressing to be first. Just going to play. For fun.
Another positive: we have a chance to meet new neighbors and make new friends.

I have a lot of energy, so I chopped about 200 rock outcroppings which earned me 10 points per rock. I had to drag out my energy crates that I've been hoarding plus wore out all of my alicorns. I also received 4 royal trees as prizes which give a lot of points if you chop them.

The bad news is that the castle dropped 1000 coins for the first collection. :confused:

Does it offer great prizes? No - the lucky few get the prize horse (and given the amount of carrots needed for beef stew, of which I have TWO clogging up my task list, that pony had better be farting carrots every 20 minutes). The rest get... Energy, which we've wasted, and trade tickets which we could have earned by spending the same effort on milk and eggs.
Does it have a grand building at the end of it? No, the rather unexciting looking castle available to those who make the effort appears to be... Deco(???) so no drops at all!

And the race to the finish to be in the high rankings has, of course, a site time which just happens to be midnight GMT. So some of us will be asleep for the last few crucial hours anyway.

Seems to me like S8 have decided who the Important players are - North Americans who spend lots of money - and sod the rest of us.

This has rather changed how I feel about the game. My commitment level has dropped considerably - and with it my willingness to spend a few pounds when I can. :(

I have been thinking pretty much the same thing. I plan to stop at 3000 (if I can even get that far). I am rooting for my group, and will ask them to tie for first place. If they don't want to, that's their choice, but won't it be the same prize if there is a tie, as it would be if there is only one winner?

I like stopping at the 3000 points thing, but you always have that competitive sort that doesn't; even if all agreed, one might accidentally earn a point by clicking on a tree or rock when trying to click something else on the map and earn another point.

I don't know if they're set prizes or random so I thought I'd post Incase.

First chest was a royal beam, second chest also.
Third chest gave me a +25 energy crate (mid-level).

SW, just noticed at the beginning of post #2 it says +15 points per hour instead of 2 hours from the tent. ;)

It will be the one with highest score where people are on different scores.

My previous comment about who reaches 3000 first being the winner - this was only in relation to discussion around wanting to be fair and working with the others in their league so everyone just gets 3000 points. I think, in this specific case only, it will be whoever gets that score first that gets ranked as number 1.

Remember there are 3 levels to this based on your game level. Low, mid and high and all have diff milestone point counts. 3000 is only the high level castle milestone....

I am another who is not impressed with this new style event. In past events as long as you were at a high enough level, the top prize was achievable for all players if you were prepared to put in the time, effort or money. With this event 90% of players WILL miss out on the top prize irrespective of the time, effort or money put into the game.

Not a good way to incentivise me, nor many other players.

Why don't we have a wheel or something else to have a chance to get more points?
Why are the tasks that give points things most of us shouldn't do on a dayly base?
I guess most of the players are maxed out on wood and stone for a long time because I see this in nearly all the other events...
In DS it's easy to get points (not to the final, but at least halfway) only doing the things you always need to do. In CS terms I think about tasks that most players give something useful to choose from (maybe 1 point per hour for the longer tasks);

I got ur idea. It will be better IF we got point from HOW LONG we craft something or cook something. Or deliver. Or adventure. So we can gather points while we doing things in our kingdom. While most of all continue our main story.

This is happen in DS an FFS. Its so rubbish when you cook or craft something and it dissappear only for point. BUT if we cook something for our adventure or our future use. Well. It will be much better.

AND just some reminder. Maybe this is not the last time S8 make leaderboard event. (But we can hope that this is the only leaderboard event regarding most people hate it), in the next Leaderboard you will be take group with people who hit the same milestone point.

Example: When this is over, you only hit second milestone. You will be onthe group who all people hit second milestone.

(but this can change. If CS leaderboard system is different with FFS or DS)

I accidentally made 2 pork loins when the game was asking for beef stew. When I collected, nothing registered and they went into my inventory. I figured out my mistake, made the beef stew, and everything went fine. Now the game is asking for 1 pork loin. I have one in my inventory, but the game won't accept it. It still says gather, and takes me to the kitchen when I tap "gather". Does this mean we can't make anything ahead of time? Is there a way to get the game to accept the pork loin that sits in my storage?

after a week what happens to this? does it end up like the fortunes teller tent? closed for business? will the barons tent disappear? same pet reruns , do the elf trades vanish? i am not that excited about this because i feel like this is just another gem cash cow, and after a week its all bye bye and into storage.

i quess it could be fun if i dont remember all the good times i had with this game, but im fading , and really desire more from the game i loved and invested into for years. just my two gold

I have had no issues with it accepting the things I have made ahead. When it wants something I already have in inventory, there is a big green check over the item and I just have to hit deliver. Maybe double check which dish is in inventory? Unfortunately, all three look very similar.

This is sad.. only coins? another Deco to be stored? Really high level players don't need coins anymore.. there is no use for them.

Is there any explanation why 1st position on team went to almost 4,500? Is it a way of saying "back off"? It's said 3,000 were enough to gain castle.

This type of competitive event is created to put the players under pressure. Only the players who are willing to spend the most money on gem items and/or have the most energy resources stand a chance to survive the onslaught and win the end prize.

Unlike any other event, the collection timers are completely irregular. There are many different items to collect with different crafting times making it difficult to get into a rythm. The boosts make the timers even more unpredictable. I feel very uneasy after a day of trying to play this. I don't want to have to check the game every 15 minutes because "something" is ready for collection. This is just too crazy.

I see that ranking board in my game too but none of my points are being recorded at all. The My Points slot still shows zero when I sped up the pork loin for 5 points. Force closed & my point total is still zero. SMH!

It might be looking for beef stew, not the pork loin... that happened to me too until I realized that I needed to make the beef stew and not the pork loins for the first gather...

I'm thinking I'm done with this game. Played from the beginning obsessively at times. It was fun for a long time. I played because it was different from the other S8 games. There was more to it than just mindless tapping and collecting. No more. Now all the games are the same just with different graphics. I was hanging on with the endless timed events that followed the exact same pattern, but this leaderboard is as far from the original Castle Story as anything could be (and this is from someone who is way ahead on the leaderboard, still not fun). People make suggestions for ways to make it fun again, but in the end, there must be a lot more people spending a ton of money on the boring, tedious events because things just get worse and worse. I'm sad.

Or they have 100 or so alicorns. I chalked up lots of points hacking rocks as I have a number of alicorns and if you use the knight's nobility boost for 25 gems, you get twice as many points in a 2 h period.

This is quite interesting - every second grass gave me point. I cleared 10 grass and gained 5 points.

It's not necessary to spend gems.. what you need is tons of energy!
I'm at 1000 points and I have stopped for now. I did use tons of energy using alis, daily alis, all other energy means.. and I have NOT spent a single gem, NOT bought the tent NOR tree. All you have to do is CHOP!
Go to the last page of the leader board.. there you can see other ways you can gain Royal points: chopping trees, dead trees, old logs, Icy Willows, chopping all kinds of rocks, outcropping, rich or whatever. Usually every third chop gives you a point. Just keep on and on and on. Yes.. very monotonous ..but FREE.

I AGREE!!! This WAS a community friendly game, that's what I liked about it and why I play it. It's what made this game different from the rest. Now it's just the same as all the others! If I wanted competition, there are a lot of better games out there to play! There are so many other options S8 could have gone with instead. I have never had a request for cakes either. Pork loins are just 5 points. And carrots and cabbages take so long to grow. My supply is dwindling. That probably encourages spending gems on the special trees and the special boosts that have high yield of points. I have not spent gems on this event.
Well I guess I'm in a low point group too. The top 4 or 5 are really close. I hope that means players aren't spending tons of gems on this competition just to stay on top of a stupid leaderboard. Oh wow. I'd love to get the steed, but there's no way I'm going to end up that far up the leader board. I've just used up all the energy I could get together from wizard schools, beasts and some energy crates and have chopped my way up to 500 points but others are doing much better - and I can see someone in this thread saying they were on 1,000. Not for me! I'm not in this for the competition with other players. I'll keep going more casually for a bit to see if I can replenish my supply of energy crates and concentrate on those expansion permits and improving the look of my board instead.

Personally, I don't think they'll get rid of them even if they KNOW that the majority of people hate them. As long as the $$$$ keep rolling in, we're stuck with leaderboards. And the top 2 in my group have over 6 thousand and 3 thousand points respectively. I'm In 6th place with 670-ish. (And I'm just playing casually, no gems...not even the tent).

Ps. Add me to the list of players who has never been asked for honey cakes either. My knights have an insatiable appetite for beef stew. But they're about to starve cause carrots and cabbages take a while to grow. I predict I won't be in 6th place much longer. Lol. Good thing I really don't care, the only reason I am participating at all is because there haven't been any new storyline updates in ages and there's nothing else to do.

You won't win unless you spend gems - that's the problem. The person who gets the horse and the expansion permits is the one who spends the most gems.

In past events as long as you were at a high enough level, the top prize was achievable for all players if you were prepared to put in the time, effort or money. With this event 90% of players WILL miss out on the top prize irrespective of the time, effort or money put into the game.

Actually it's even higher: 95% of players (19/20) will be out of first place within their group.

I'm normally not a competitive person, but, I actually like that side of this! And I like that we were grouped w/similar leveled kingdoms. I finally got on later last night so I feel kind of behind though; the #1 in my group is over 500 points ahead of me already.

I was kind of enjoying this to start but then spent some time analyzing the competition rules.

First: as a level 29, there is no way I can compete with a level 45. Most of the things that boost or give extra energy are not available to me yet.
Second: After mainly focusing on the event today, I am at 140 points. I won't be able to reach the 2300 points needed for the castle. I was able to log in most of the day with my energy hardly ever completely reloading.
Third: at this point, we have to assume the prizes aren't worth it. S8 is not telling us what the top prizes actually do. Even at my level, I don't need a coin drop building or a plain old horse.
Fourth: I haven't been playing long but I understand the community this game created and appreciate how the majority feel this is bad for CS.

This could have been a fun event with just the goals/points portion (with a few more levels ;), as a completionist, already knowing I can't the castle makes me sad)

Even less reason to play then! I was going on the basis that the top prize is the horse and that is awarded to the top two in the group, but you are correct, in future it may well be restricted to first place only and I really don't like those odds.

Rather than getting caught up in the end prize, I just want to say that the prizes we get along the way are good. I like the Royal games walls and gates and the RG trees are really cute with the ribbons hanging down. The artwork is very good and the items all grouped together is very Castle Story-ish. If players would concentrate on just getting the RG Castle and other prizes that come as you play, you might start enjoying this event. I have no interest in getting the steed but I'm glad I just competed with myself to get the other prizes.

Does anyone know what the red point banners mean? And the 4 hours? My theory is either the point amount is good for 4 hours, or the request expires in four hours.

Yeah, S8 isn't very generous with info on these things. :( But based on our theories, it sounds like it might be a good idea to have at least one each of the longer crafting/cooking items on hand, for those wishing to cash in on the extra points.

1st position: 4,922 points and not stopping. level50, has Alis, but not more than I do.
2nd position: 3,500 points.. level 50, NO Alis!
I'm working hard all day, not wasting time, but NOT spending gems.. I have the advantage of energy from my Alis. My points are 2,000.. the rest of the group working even if slowly.

When I reach the Castle... I WILL STOP!!!!! I wont craft even one more dish! and keep my goods.
Don't care about about the 'horse auction'! it doesnt even drop energy! and don't like leaving group too far behind.

If they wish.. they tie with me.. if they prefer.. they can move ahead.
1st and 2nd place will be unreachable, as gems are used.
(It's still to see if 2nd place stops when reaches the Castle or does like 1st place... goes way over total necessary)

Honestly.. I don't call this an Event.. it's stress playing and NOT relaxing at all.. BUT each has their choice.

Advice to fellow players: save your gems and buy yourself an Ali, which will give you energy as long as you play and not horsehair, if you're tempted to spend.
