Will this be a battleground animal or just a regular tournament?

I like the animal and I am hoping it will be a long tournament. It starts on the 23rd and I won't be able to play much on Christmas Eve and Christmas Day. I may have to use a few gems to get a head start on it to compensate for not being able to play for a couple of days, though I hate to do that.

Maybe it's just wishful thinking but I do believe this will be a battleground animal. In the thread heading the word 'Battle' is used rather than 'Tournament'. Again, maybe that means nothing.

Oh it is beautiful, but I have been having problems with accommodating these lovely animals. I do not come up with expanding land and always need the habitats where we can buy with gems. Now again a beauty more in the storage. :(

You are so right, but to make matters worse, there's a storybook too! I really like the dragon and the storybook animals look good too, but l don't know if l can cope with it. I wish they had started a week later.

White elephant is Xmas/elec .. Earth is critical on that I beat it one shot with big bad wolf, so try one of your earth animals :)

We didn't have a zodiac animal this month yet either. I wonder if it will start on Tuesday? IMO it's a very bad time to be aiming for a zodiac during a storybook. Hopefully the storybook will auto start on Monday, at least giving us a small window to try for the zodiac. Or maybe this is number 13 and they are doing something totally different? I haven't missed one yet, but this time I just may have too!

It's true that it's pretty easy for early rounds. I'm stuck at Round 31 (Sapphire Cthulhu) (see post #8). What puzzled me was the irregularity of the the performance of Ultra Rare vs. Super Rare fighters. I found some simple, inexpensive super rare, such as Sapybara, Vinotaur, Flyerfox, Grassquatch, Cactus Kitsune, etc., performed very well. They often rendered critical hits in first try and sometimes gave two critical hits in a row. In contrast, Some Ultra Rare (or expensive Super Rare animals) performed extremely poorly. For example, I tried my Cerberus 5 times so far (combination of Dark and Lightning) and failed them all. From the probability perspective, it doesn't make sense.

Thank you to Cardinalpsy, Supermaay and all those who posted results, although, most of the animals you used did not work for me but your postings are a good guide.

I found the tournement easy to start with but then became very hard. The Saphire Cthulhu was a dream, 1st try one hit, but
I was stuck on the Party Penguin, Tortiglu, Snow Possum, and many others for ages, but have now completed it.

45 rounds in 12 days was much less stressful than 9 or 10 days.

wow,got the snowflake drake on the first try. I meant to use earth but I accidently selected my level 15 shockatoo. So I went for it, got him ont he first hit with electric. That was very lucky!
