boosts not working

just tried them for the first time ever and none will work.i click on them to activate but the options are like greyed out (cant describe it any other way) so wont allow me to do anything

Did you earn any boosts to use? If you don't have any boosts, then you will not be able to activate any in the boost menu. Keep in mind, you can earn boosts from the Adventure League!

its all new to me the whole boost thing.i just assumed everybody got them with the picture being in view.so i have to play this adventure league to get them do i?

My food boost x2 isn't working. The x5 is working fine. I have 5/8 boost available
