Yep of coarse restaurant story gets a wintery, well developed update and we get an off season, random update. I wish s8 would stop favouring restaurant story, I don't get why they do. Does it earn more money or something? Of coarse I don't mean to be rude and it's all speculation, but I really wish they'd be more even with both games and put the same amount of effort.

What's even worse is that this may be our goals. That means 2 goals in a row for us that aren't seasonal related yet 2 in a row for RS that are. Dissapointed.

I think, by the time we hit Spring, we will finally get Halloween goal and in early Summer we will be getting Thanksgiving stuff. I am really hoping (as I was also hoping for the entire month of November) that S8 will unlock for us the OLD GOALS. S8, PLEASE RE-LAUNCH FOR US THE OLD THANKSGIVING AND CHRISTMAS GOALS FROM 2011-2015! Whoever wants to do them, will do them. At least, we will have an option to stay in season. Besides, there is still over a week left for the Alice in Wonderland goals, and even if we don't get Christmas, there are other themes the BS team could do for December (ex. Hanukkah, New Year's Eve, general winter theme, etc.)

I wish we could have gotten something similar to Fashion Story's update though :( I would've loved to see a rainy day update here.

If we're not getting Christmas goals this year I hope we're at least going to get the 2012 Christmas goals. I know people have said it was a hard goal to do. I'd love the chance to do it.

This is my fourth Christmas playing bs and the first time without Christmas goals. I have tons of Christmas items in my bakery but of course I would have liked more. I feel so sorry for the new players though. They won't even have tiles or tables and chairs. I wish there was a way to help them out. :(

This update is awful for this time of year please release old Christmas goals or new Christmas goal and some old Christmas tables and chairs and wallpaper and floor tiles newer players do not have much to choose from for Christmas decorating. We have enough snowy/frozen items. By the time you give us Christmas goals and we finish cooking and get
the prize it is almost time to put the Christmas decor away.

wait, 9 days? really? weird. i'm going to actually leave my desk (miracle of miracles) and go look at the game in the middle of the workday.

i wonder if this is in response to people who were complaining about there being too many goals at once (those who didn't do the older goals first time around and had simultaneous goal problems)? so this one is just something you can finish quickly (and that's why they spent no design time on it), and then next week they re-release the 2013 christmas goal? or maybe next week they'll release the old xmas goal for new players, but also bring out something really tough, but only for lvl 99 because they may have already done the old goal (and if they haven't, are capable of doing 2 at once)?

i'm just having trouble accepting that this is all we'll get for december, so i'm choosing to believe next week will bring something better.

I think, the idea of offering us a 9-day mini goal would be a great success today, IF the goal was seasonal (winter, holiday related) AND both the appliances and recipes were uniquely designed for that goal and not bluntly copied from RS (not funny at all!) I am REALLY REALLY DISAPPOINTED in this week's update and, at this point, not even hopeful that we could get anything we expect next week...

Wow... I really hope these are mini-goals, and that we get actual wintry/Xmas/New Year's/other December holiday-themed goals next week.

It's an interesting concept, to be sure, but I'm not sure how positively I feel about it :/ The really short-duration recipes make it hard to check in every now and then, and the copy-and-paste from RS into here is really off-putting. At least the recipes are still bakery-themed and not full-on burgers and fries.

I hope that isn't a sign of what's to come in 2017 :(

Everyone keeps saying they hope for a Christmas goal ... but the closer we get to Christmas the busier most people get ... and with Christmas activities the less time we have to do goals. I would much rather have a Christmas goal now while I have time to do it and have longer to enjoy it. To put it up against the actual holiday gives us no time to either do it or enjoy it.

I wish they would think about "real life" as well when putting these things together.
This goal would have been ok in June, not so much right now.
And doing Christmas at last minute is stressful more than fun.

It seems that staff has been allocated to the newer games, and they are doing rushed & half thought out ideas here just to put something up.

Thank you for pointing that out. I didn't even notice that! I don't recall a goal ever requiring gems. I am a long time player that left for a year because I was fed up. I recently came back hoping things have changed. They are worse than when I left, didn't think that was possible. I really think that they are trying to get us to migrate over to Bakery Story 2. I can only speak for myself but that game sucks. I am going to play through Christmas and hope that this magically changes.

I haven't seen anything in the goal where we have to buy wallpaper. We usually have to buy the wallpaper when we buy the tiles right at the start of the goals. Hopefully it's just there so that we have a choice to buy it if we wanted it to match the other items. Personally I don't like the wallpaper anyway. I wouldn't buy it even for coins unless we had to as part of the goal.

The way I'm looking at these goals is that it's an easy way to earn 12 gems from mastering the ovens. Especially with very short cooking times. It's 12 gems that could be useful in a (hopefully) Christmas sale.

I honestly don't think it's a mistake... I feel like this goal/update is so disappointing that unlocking an item worth 48 gems but not actually being rewarded one automatically is just part of the crappiness.

Also, I feel like if it was a mistake or glitch they would have realized "oh hey, that dance floor that's worth 48 gems is supposed to be a prize" and fixed it last week... especially after dozens of players have questioned why we didn't receive one. But also this is S8 we're talking about and they haven't been too impressive lately.

I don't think the advent calendar will work. I think old goals will appear in restaurant story and new goals shall appear in bakery story. If I remember well, the decorations from 2013 goals were slightly rubbish. I will not be surprised if there would be no christmas sale in both restaurant and bakery story as they didn't even bother last year.

The 2013 goal prize - the magic of Christmas - is my all time favourite Christmas deco though. Not a big fan of Christmas lights but they weren't bad at all when compared to what we had last year. Not that I hate the 2015 deco - it's just that they lack variation.

S8 did surprise us with an old Halloween goal, half priced boxes and surprise sales in 2016 so I hope we'll also have them in the last month of the year :)
