Their main purpose isn't really for Halloween, but to earn corrupt crystal to craft The Dark One. Tbh, I wish they show up as much as possible (at least more than 35 times (need 35 crystals to craft the dragon)), b/c some people including myself missed a crystal or two due to not being able to get pass a certain dragon (in my case a high level champion) or they missed a battle due to life or technical issues.

As for people who are having a tough time defeating corrupt dragons, I find that dragons from the Tales with white type helps most of the time (ex. Lvl 14 Chronicler, Whiteglass, Glasswing, Light Mother, etc)

They are in the tournaments to collect the 35 crystals needed to get the vegetable corrupt. I would say that we will indeed be able to breed corrupts and starting with those two (counting Prime Crorrupt).

At a 15 I have skeletal knight, passion and metal available, diamond is getting ready to come out before the next battle. Some of my light hybrids are at 10 (leopard, winter, old watcher) and the most are 7's or 8's. This is so frustrating, especially when my son just won on his third overall try with a level 12 diamond and others are successful with what I'm using. There had to be some sort of "balance" in the tournament.

FURIOUS with this game! I have now lost 12 times to Immortal. Except that I won 3 battles ago. I won with Infinity 15 Mm. The game gave me a sapling, ran the entire length of the hour-long timer to get to the next battle, and DID NOT require my Infinity to visit the spa. I get back after an hour and I'm on Immortal again. Seriously hate this game. Storm8, if you're going to jack with players, code for these shiesty tactics, and count the dragon used as having WON THE ROUND (i.e. doesn't require the spa), at least don't make us wait an hour to find out. :mad::mad::mad::mad::mad:

Diamond is my go to champ destroyer. Don't be surprised if you hit a wall against champs though. Highest record I've seen someone post was 40- something losses.

Finally got Immortal down after 16 losses. I decided to level up Ice Giant from 11 to 14 early (an upcoming tales task) and threw him in the ring (Mmm). Thankfully, he didn't disappoint. It doesn't always work, but sometimes leveling up a dragon immediately before a battle helps secure a win. It also seems that several of the tales dragons seem to do well in battle.

Onward and upward! Already had one loss to The Dark One and I'm just super excited for yet ANOTHER champ after him!

So over this game. Really wondering why I even play anymore. 16 losses to Immortal, 5 losses to Light Mother, and so far, 4 losses to White Bengal. There is nothing fun about this. It's stressful and annoying. And I read on another thread that a person made it past the tournament and while on the battles for the tales, ran into Huntress in the arena!

This may help some with getting past the champions in this tournament, Firestorm Lvl 10. Stop laughing! I know this seems a weird choice but it does work.

This is true. Firestorm can be very effective against later round chumpions (misspelled on purpose). Lately I've been picking dragons that would shock me if they win as opposed to using my ineffective high level diamonds.

I'm extremely happy that I got through that tournament, it was pretty difficult to say the least. I just really hope we don't have to get all the other corrupts the same way, but I have a feeling that may be the case. In same boat against Bengal. This is day 2 of Bengal hell, round umpteen-million, all my level 15 & 14 dragons are dead, many multiple times, I am ready to delete this game once and for all. Have used Infinity 15 (multiple times), Guardian 15 (multiple), Glasswing 14 (multiple), Bronzetalon 14 (multiple), Light Mother 13 (multiple), Forgefather 15 (twice), Lollipop 14, Dark Prime Chroma 13 (twice), fire 14, playful 14, and a bunch more I can't remember (finally just started going one by one from the top) most of whom are still in line for healing.
Have come to the decision I'm no longer spending a drop of gold on this game, so be it, if this is how the new order of things will be, I'm done for good.
*Just wanted to add that every dragon used before I said to heck with it and started throwing in random competitors had 55-60% win odds...supposedly.

Bleck! What a crock?! After being stuck on Inquistor since Friday with more than 15 losses I quit. Losing so many times and being stuck on one stupid dragon when we need those Corrupt stones really stinks. I don't mind spending some gold but there is no way to to craft this dragon if I can't progress in these tourneys to get the stones and my dragons are level 15s. I will not spend gold to craft this dragon and will just accept that I won't get it. So over this game right now.

Have you kept results on their win vs.loss ratio etc, everytime you post results I wonder why I bother with Champs and UR's when you seem to be cleaning up with Commons. Did it take a bit for them to start winning like this or was it like that when you started battling with just them? Sorry for all the questions, I'm always wondering "how does he do this" every time you post results. Also, are you aware of others trying this with the luck you've had? Thanks so much for sharing any information you can :)

I made it to round 24. I have mostly been using Fire (lvl 10) Air (lvl 10) Forest (lvl 7) Water (lvl 7). A couple of times I've used a lvl 10 landworm or a lvl 3 huntress, but they both lost. I think the 4 commons have been the ones to win all my battles, mostly on the first try. I'm stuck on this one, could keep going but I will run out of time and dragons so I'm stopping here. I'm amazed I got this far. I'm level 35, and I think it only started for me when I hit level 31 2 days ago or something, because it hadn't started on the second day of the dragon tales when I had to win 3 battles, but had by the 5th, even though other people were already going through it when I started the tales. I have the huntress, that's my only champion, and I only got her hatched yesterday, she's level 3. Other than that, I have commons, a couple of lower level super rares who haven't done much good. I don't like to use my high earners in battle when they're likely to lose anyway and cost me a lot in lost income.

I had one try against R20 Inquistor knowing I have never ever beaten him and ultimated .... My only ultimate but had plenty of losses against the most unlikely to cause a problem !!

I've been on the prize dragon now forever and round 24 took forever. I need this final win for tales. Everything on one basket. Not a good tourney and I don't have such problems typically. Hope you are done friend.

I am stuck on nr. 29 the whole day now, it reminds why I never participates with the tournaments, it is to hard. There should be a limit on how many tries per dragon. For example definite win every 10 th try if not won by than.

You scared me when you mention you were stuck on Light Mother. I was originally planning to save it for tales, but just went ahead and KO it with my lvl 10 Glasswing using Magic. Hope that works for you.

Also use Glasswing for the Dark One, bM.

And like everyone else, stuck on round 26, Immortal, for two days, it was holding up the tale, so I needed to ultimate it. That lil fudge sickles was truly an Immortal, but not anymore. ;]

This was the MOST DIFFICULT TOURNAMENT I've ever played since I began playing DS!!!! I generally average 5 losses in a full tournament. In this one, I had 34 total losses & used Ultimate 4 times!! I keep a log of every tournament & refer to it to see who beat a current opponent so I'm able to make logical decisions. It rarely fails when I face previously battled dragons, except in this tournament!! What's going on since I read many posts from experienced players having the same problem??? I'm still healing a list of dragons 2 days after finally finishing & it's now at a manageable point that should clear tomorrow! I lost level 15 Diamond, Metal, & at least 6-8 Champions level 12-15! Seems as if it was made more difficult than necessary, in my opinion. Was it just me??

I have to say this one was heavy on Glasswing, I used it so many times and it was the top option on many many battles.

I got stuck on the L19 Champ for quite a while using the usual diamond/pyramid/metal/infinity/soccer group and the game wasnt letting me win, I kept losing and losing until they finally allowed me to pass. Outside that and one more it was pretty much on par for what should be expected...meaning if I have the dragons to face the opponent then I should be able to pass the battle with some level of prediction.

And I was a little shocked the last 2 battles were easier than I was expecting, maybe to make up for the two that were MAJORLY over difficult.

I have 6 battles left. Had to decide if I want to spend gold to finish Tales or use it to finish this. That white Bengal made it an easy decision. Already lost to Mist twice...both losses should have been easy wins. I only have a small amount of gold so I hope the rest of this won't be too tough.

I got to inquisitor and haven't gotten past it. If there wasn't a tales I probably would've gotten further, maybe even won. Too bad for me I guess, I have a weakness for cats & I really liked this one. At least I got huntress. From reading some of the posts, it seems like people had a difficult time with this tournament. Congrats to those who've won & sorry to those who lost like I did..
