Any thoughts on other creatures that might fit a castle theme? I know I won't be able to complete the storybook because I only have 4,000 food. I decided to level up the Scorpio right away. I think it's my new favorite 😄

Hello I have now sold my hot dog, I have 6 hot dogs in the camp. Have now again a Pandaffodil and will need a new Habitat. I hope the TL will lower the costs for the country expansion, I need so long to get new land.

Have now my Pandaffodil fed on Epic and hope that TL helps us with the country extension. It is difficult to accommodate the new animals if you do not have a place in Habitat.

Don't give up yet! I rarely have more then 5,000-10,000 food when these storybooks start but I'm always able to finish them. What I do is immediately start planting 1 hour charm cherries, set an alarm and plant them every hour then plant 5 hour Nexus Nuts while sleeping. If you plant like crazy and wait to start the storybook until the very last minute possible, it is doable! Also, if you have the time to stay on your game for a while, plant Power pears or the 30 second apples. It's tedious but your food supply will start adding up! Good luck to you and everyone participating in this storybook!

castle habitat is on sale for 200gems atm ... it can house 4 animals with elements of magic/thunder/earth sadly it is the only habitat to house all magic elements ... all magic elements are like zodiac habitat ...

if you are level 17-21 when u start story quest you do not need to epic the animals so it is doable just hard....

if you are level22 & above, hopefully you are lvl40+ because just plant 5hr food x3(75K each) & 8hr each day, you still have spare 5-8K apples leftover for leaderboard(if you start right now btw) I have not count the food 300 from battles & assuming you are 0 apple & start right now ... good luck & dun give up since it is like a free UR animal event

My first try for thunderhawk I get 17 hour porkupine.. Thank goodness I tried early on! Porkupine on nest and 16 hour in den (think its thunderhawk, not another 16 hour elec/nature I don't think)

He's my favorite among all the Harry Potter themed animals that were released! Thank goodness it wasn't placed in the leaderboards as the grand prize!!!

While on the way to the library to study for more exams, Loyal Badger heard a commotion from one of the seldomly used hallways. It sounded like an argument was taking place and at a school for users of magic, arguments often ended poorly for one of the parties involved. Loyal Badger decided to investigate!

sometimes it takes a fex minutes befor it registers....
If you close the game and start again, it should be ok

Just started today, Was working long overtime hours so haven't even had a chance to play much. A shame it started right after the leaderboards :/ I had ran out of my apples so right now I would not be able to get passed the second animal prize :/ The dumbledore dog is sooo cute :3 Will also probably admire from other peoples lands XD

Was just considering stopping the storybook now that I have Loyal Badger and save my apples... but made a first attempt at the thunderhawk anyway... 48HRS! That settles it, I don't need Felione! What is it?! Crystal Unicorn and Eagle Beagle. My first hybrid! This combined with deadwing on the nest and I'm on cloud nine! (Even with the sore throat of nightmares!)

Drachenia... Yes, when I woke up from my cold medicine induced stupor I double checked and realized it could be Valkyrie too. Fun... a surprise! While I would be prefer the Peridot, I'm still happy to finally have a hybrid! (I don't count my pretty Grand Unicorn because I won her! I wanted to breed one!) Thanks everyone!

I think it should be 2 per hour as it is similar to last storybook (last storybook called for 65 candies after planting 6 mana bananas).

I was on chapter two and i planted the 6 bananas, then proceeded to breed the panda, however after i successfully bred the panda, i found that two of my trees were not planted. Hence the system did not record my first act of planting banana. i got a 16 hour (thunderhawk) timer.

was afraid i could not finish in 24 hours due to 60 wizard glasses. now that it should take 5 hours to collect, i think i can still finish one chapter in a day.

i messed up a lot...i forgot that an egg has to be hatched forst before evolution, my nest is now occupied and the badger cannot be hatched yet :(

you have 10 days to complete so no worries ... just make sure you have enough food at chapter 10 :)

you are right! now i am worried about food after seeing Drachenia's post... I collected 57,000 food over the past few days and was confident it was sufficient.

So now i need to collect 85,000 food over the next 7-8 days = 12,000 per day = hours of power pears and aura apples at night ;)

I really hope you can finish this quest & do report if you receive the ultra rare UR as your grand prize.... there has been a few players who did not get the UR as grand prize at the low level quest... so I assume lvl17-21 is the right level to start the mid level & have gotten the UR whereas 22+ above is high level.

I know it is crazy at your level to even plant anything without much coins & you have not unlock your full 6x farms yet.... good luck :)

There are 2 ways to skip those two

1. go in to the battle and choose the icon to the far right, i think its yellow and 30 gems for a guaranteed win of that round

2. when you get to that mission in the storybook you can skip it using gems, but no idea how much they were.. maybe someone else is on it and can tell you i've passed the first one and not into the second yet, sorry

In chapter 3 to skip pendant from rnd 8 it is 75 gems so it's at least that much in later chapters, but maybe progressively more. Guess we'll only know if someone gets to chapter 6 and 9 and hasn't done tourney...and posts it.

I store about 36000 food from tournament. Because I cant rely to my farm which is like you said, not fully built. Cant plant nexus nut.

Now I really Love Harpot so I decide to push until my last food and coins and time. I hope I can get him at least. Even if I dont get Dumbledog as Final Prize. I know it is not fair for lower level to get Dumbledog when the task are easier than high level.

Well just finished chapter 4. All going well so far, fell a little behind hatching loyal badger but all caught up now. My 6 farms have got their adventurnips on which means I'll fall a little behind food wise but I'm not to worried, iv never really had food issues before so can't see it being s problem. Badger is on level 15 and have just under 90 000 food left and 2 thunder hawks. Here's hoping all the rest goes well

I was running out of space and decided to do something about it. First, all you have to do is breed the animal. Once it was ready, I sold it. That gave me money and then I started doing all the work on the animal I already have. That's what did to the Thunderhawk and will do to the Planthers. I already got a egg ready for the planther so I will sell it when It's done. Then, I need to do some breeding. I'm waiting for my food to finish growing so I can pick it for the wizard wands. And I've aready finished act 1 and 4.

35 rounds in 10-12 days depending on your start off date...

that is average 4-5 battles in one day.... if you dun want to spend gems to get to battle 35
if you can afford to gem but really hate battles go to battle 18 that is just 1.5 battle in your busy schedule per day... than gem to skip battle 35

well now looking at this stats do you really think it is a bit too much?

even if you would to spend 100gems to skip battle35 but your end goal is free UR (hopefully you like that animal or elements) but of cause if doing 1.5 battles in a single day 24hours is also pretty hard :P

Having bred a multitude of Planthers previously, I thought breeding another would be easy. I put a lvl 4 Planther with a lvl 4 Skyger and got a breeding time of 20 hours. If I was trying for that, it wouldn't happen!

The 20 hrs turned out to be a Lunar Moth. I triied again with the baby Planther and a lvl 7 Planther and got a Spruce Moose. I've just tried for a third time with the baby Planther and a baby Pandaffodil and I'm breeding an Aurora Pegasus. Don't get me wrong, I am really pleased with the results as I have tried many times for these, but it's weird that it happens now when I'm trying for a lowly Planther. I'll try again with epic Skyger and Pandaffodil, because the babies are just too good!

I felt the right adjustment for storybook should be below lvl 21 (low level) so at least even you complete you can get the UR
22-40 (mid levels) well at least we are stuck in here for a long time the extra UR are pretty good
41 above (high level) I started my 6x nexus at lvl40 well even I come in storybook with 0apples it is still doable on day1 with players advancing kudos to Clarke wayne for that

are you doing the high level quest? did you start the quest at lvl22 or above your quest might be chapter 7 if you are in the lower levels

I plan to breed a planther, make sure the felione is level 15 and plant adventurnips right away at update. I planted 3 of the 20 hr crops just now and will plant 3 adventurnips as the goal comes up and then 3 more after the maintenance is over. By a few hours after that I will be feeding my multiple ferrets and then should be able to collect my magic wands and Dumbledog!

If we plant all 6 adventurnips we won't be able to do a planting for at least 4 hours.. but we can feed ferrets and collect magic wands later.

Chapter 2
While on the way to the library to study for more exams, Loyal Badger heard a commotion from one of the seldomly used hallways. It sounded like an argument was taking place and at a school for users of magic, arguments often ended poorly for one of the parties involved. Loyal Badger decided to investigate!

Chapter 3

I'm not spending gems anymore unless for habitats and things so I'm still waiting on my first fail clearing,, I took this time to take Scorpio out of storage tho, by the time I was able to place that on the nest my fail was 16 hours to go and Scorpio is 17, so that worked well.

Well I'm pau with the storybook and Dumbly Dog is in storage. Yesterday morning I planted three of the 20 hr crops. At update time (9pm for me) I planted 3 adventurnips. This morning I harvested the three adventurnips, fed my three level 1 Fairy Ferrets, somewhere in there the Felione goal auto completed and then I harvested the 20 hr crops that were planted yesterday. The crops gave me 60 magic wands each so the last goal completed with no stress.

First: I really hope everyone on chapter 10 today will be able to complete with minimum stress. I'm thinking the maintenance was put in place because of the trick of Daylight Saving Time ending. No getting around it. It was sticky posted here in the forum days ago that the maintenance would occur. I personally posted yesterday in this thread a reminder (#97 on page 5) and my plan for dealing with it.

Sorry, but there is ALWAYS an event going on.


It might have been helpful if there was a pop up in the game warning us about the maintenance for those who don't visit the forums, but Storm8 games are pretty clear in the FAQ that serious players should keep tabs on the forum and we all have been complaining about the several pop-ups, so....

I have to agree with many others, putting maintenance on the last day of a storybook is ridiculous. It wouldnt cause much hassle done at the start because then we'd have chance to catch up easily, the last day? Not a lot of time to catch up. Seems like a way to get people spending gems to get dumbledog imo.

Some of us can't plan our days entirely around the game. I got lucky and managed to get online on lunch break (maintenance was up first thing this morning for me) at a charity event but if I'd had to wait until I was home I wouldnt have made it.

It would b good if instead of saying (for example) breed a planthers then feed 40 times, u cld just breed any pair and then get to choose what animal you wanted to feed, the task could just say, feed an animal 40 times then you could choose what u wanted

If you have beagle scout the UR fire/nature.. Breed that with CU, I've had nothing but ferrets with that combo last few days trying for a fire hybrid or peridot :)

Well I got my planther so I sped it onto the nest so that I can try for the fairy ferret as I'm now a few chapters behind. Fed my planthers and put it into evo flower, sped a little bit here so that I could catch up. I now need to collect the wands from harvesting and my felione is already at level 15. Then chapter 9 will start and my ferret will b ready . The only thing I will then need to do is harvest the spell melons, so I should be ok. Then hoping Chapter 10 will b ok but as long as im all caught up for it starting I don't think I should have any big problems.

This will be the last tale/event for me for a while. I am fed up with countless attempts to bred the required animals and ending up getting so far behind that I have no chance of finishing the tale and still not getting it. It is just too frustrating. Why animals that need 16 hours? Every long fail sets you back a day and chances to get a new animal from a fail for high level players are rare.
I don't have the gems to buy, speed breed, hatch or skip all the time, and I will not spend more money on it. I don't mind paying a few bucks here or there to support game developers, they have to come up with new things to keep it interesting, but there has to be a healthy balance inside the games.
There are too many events and constantly new animals to place. It takes forever to get runes for expanding, so even having new animals makes no sense since they will sit in storage forever.
Come on Storm8, you can do better!
Until then I will not participate in any event anymore, instead I am going to slowly expand and place the animals I already have. Less stressful.

there was a similar type game but instead of eg. feeding panthers 40x it gives players option feed the required animals 40x or feed whatever animals 80x

hatch panthers but instead hatch any rare or super rare animals so you can still keep breeding the animals you want ....

well the game is getting more & more players playing btw because it is really very "friendly" & easily obtain quest over time...

I, indeed, have such bad luck breeding Thunderhawk. The thing is, I can almost guarantee that I will breed it the second the event is over. Happened with other required animals before.
Sure, once in a while I breed an animal that I don't have (like Skyena this time ), but it has become very difficult for me to breed the required ones. Usually I would get it after three or four fails. It did not take day after day after day.
Of course the choice is mine to participate or not, and that is what I said, I will pause events for a while and keep enjoying the game at a slower pace =)

if you visit a neighbor after you win it it should lock it in.. i visit neighbor everytime i do a move like get a good breed, win battle or mine so as not to lose my progress :)

Yeah, I usually do that too, but not after every move, just before I close the game and since the next chapter popped up and a timer appeared over my breeding den with planther and pandaffodil I thought I was OK. It reset me twice now and I did take a screen shot of my last win against Dumbledog, but this late in the event I'm sure it's no good to send it because by the time they get time to reply I won't have time to finish the rest of the event. :(
