I completed the quests to create a Comet dragon - it has been hatched and is in a habitat but the quest is still in the book.

If you hatched the Comet Dragon before the quest A Comet's Tail, it will not register you have completed the tasks. You will need to complete the goals A Comet's Tail parts 1 and 2.
