Stuck creating worlds

Since the update to the Halloween edition a week ago my samsung galaxy doesn't load past the creating worlds screen. Have tried deleting cache, reinstalling etc - no luck.

Can you try leaving the device on for about 5 minutes to see if it will load? Please make sure your device does not go to sleep and there are no other applications running in the background.

Thanks for the reply. I have now tried that, but unfortunately still does not proceed past that screen. Restarted, opened the app, kept the screen alive for almost 10 minutes - no dice.

Some combination of deleting the app's permissions within Facebook and turning off download boost within Android settings worked.
