I'm curious how much money folks are spending on this game. I'm really enjoying it and my kids love it and we compare forests. I'm level 33 but I don't have any of the special habitats because the gem prices seem crazy. I've spent a little too help me in some of the challenges but I'm having trouble justifying spending more on the game. Are there any tips or tricks to help get more gems? I have plenty of neighbors but the limit of three gifts per day doesn't seem to help anyone get rich on gem gifts.

Thanks,
lowborn

I buy gems but only if I get a gem sale which goes out randomly. I buy the safe if gems and try to be cautious on what I spend them on. I try to not speed animals of the nest unless I feel the need to and I don't ever use ultimate attacks or but bombs. I buy the specialist habitats at 200 gems when they are on sale and buy the treasure animals when they are on sale. I also don't buy any animals that go on sale but can b bread!

I haven't spent any money, and so far I've found that the game is still really fun to play and I'm able to participate fully in the events. There are definitely lots of animals and habitats I'll never be able to get, though.

This game requires disciplines in time management. Don't feel the urge to speed things up unless absolutely necessary. Don't buy animals or habitats as there are always new animals/habitats coming out. Don't buy animals because they are cute. Occasionally buying gems on sale is okay. Treat this game as an entertainment (if you enjoy playing). Paying for entertainment is okay as long as it's not excessive.

I've played FFS since the beginning and it's only lately that I have be*** buying gems. I buy them when they are on sale and will spend up to 30 aussie dollars but no more. I use the gems to buy habitats with the occasional gem spend in quests if I can't breed the required animal (takes the frustration out of days of trying). I've never brought and refuse to buy a treasure animal, reason being treasure animals were breedable until recently. Apart from buying gems, 3 daily gem traders can assure you of 21 gems p/w. I agree with Supermaay, paying for entertainment is ok as long as it's not excessive.

I buy the 1400 gem pack every few months or so when it's 30% off and mostly use my gems to buy the premium habitats and sometimes a treasure animal. I rarely spend gems on anything else. I plan ahead for the Storybook tasks and plant food nonstop so I don't have to worry about running out of food. I also plant mostly 20 hour crops during community events in order to avoid losing time in between plantings if I'm unable to check the game right after they're done growing. With regards to breeding limited time animals and battle tournaments, I make lots of compromises. There are always new animals coming out, so I only focus on the ones that I absolutely have to have.

I don't know if it's ok to mention this on the forum (so the mods can remove this if needed), but if you have a spare device laying around or a family member who doesn't use their device to play storm8 games, you can create an account on there and use it to send yourself gems. You won't get rich quick from it, but it's a way to get a few extra gems per day. :p
