Getting Started
1. Get a Treat Bucket from the Market
2. Collect and craft items for the Treat Bucket
3. Fill the Treat Bucket to adopt the Haunted Husky

Upgrade Information for the Treat Bucket
There are altogether 5 stages.
Stage 1. Place Your Treat Bucket

To upgrade to Stage 2 requires
6 Purple Candy (make in the chocolatier)
20 Orange Candy (from plane deliveries)

To upgrade to Stage 3 requires
10 Jack O Lanterns (make in the studio)
25 Orange Candy (from plane deliveries)

To upgrade to Stage 4 requires
1 dog collar (make in the kitchen)
35 Orange Candy (from plane deliveries)

To upgrade to Stage 5 requires
1 blue sapphire pendant (make in the studio)
45 Orange Candy

In the market you will find two hoards for sale.
One for coins and one for gems.
Both can only be used once.
You open them with skeleton keys you receive from plane deliveries.

The coin hoard gives random prizes.

Unlock the deluxe Hallowed hoard with a skeleton key.

We also have a goal to buy the Deluxe Hallowed Hoard for gems. It's not a lot, and we get 15 in return. It is a one-time use and gives one of four special decorations. I don't have many gems after the last few events and not buying more, especially just for Halloween decorations that I won't keep out.

Ok, it did not count. But I accidentally sped up a pumpkin for gems and when I used pruners to clip it, the whole patch cleared and I could buy a new one. So go ahead and plant pumpkins. They take 11 hours to grow. Then clip and replace the patches.

You will need 16 silver scales. You get the scales from collecting the Flying Fish in the pond.

You probably can. I haven't worded that very well. It asks for you to buy 5 pumpkins, harvest 5 and collect 5 pruners. If you have purchased 10 beforehand it doesn't count. You will have to wait 11 hrs to harvest and to be able to purchase another 5 or pay 5 gems to pass. Sorry for the confusion.

To make the spiderweb fish bait you will need 2 flax and 2 cotton for each bait. You have to make 16 fish so it's a lot of cotton and flax.

Auroramom, you have to make a sapphire pendant for the last goal to get the puppy. You have mine 8 times I think to get the sapphires and then you make it in the studio.

I knew I should have written it down. I know you have to go mining to get 8 sapphires. You need 8 sapphires and 8 silver to make the pendant in the studio. It takes 3 hours to make the pendant.

If you have 3 or less unused darts, the tree house will replace them with 3 new ones when it resets. I was able to collect enough orange candies to get the puppy. Make sure to keep checking the newspaper for the candies I was able to buy about 20 of them. The husky super cute! My daughter is over the moon with how cute he is. This was a really fun event!

This will be crafted in the kitchen and will unlock at goal 8. I am ready to upgrade the table, but can't because it isn't yet unlocked. This is keeping the goals and the upgrades in closer step than in other quests, where I sometimes finished one part long before the other.

great news on the special bait. I am catching 1 flying fish with each bait and sometimes getting 2 in a lucky hot spot. No misses or wrong fish caught with 10 bait across two farms.

You cannot upgrade your buckets until you reach the goal that has upgrade in it.

When you reach goal three
You can upgrade your bucket to stage two
Requires 6 purple candy and 20 Orange candy

Then you cannot upgrade until you reach goal 5
Upgrade Treat Bucket to Stage 3
Requires 10 Jack-O-Lanterns, 25 Orange Candy

Then you cannot upgrade until you reach goal 8
Upgrade treat bucket to stage 4
Requires 1 silver collar, 35 Orange candy

You are going to click on your treat bucket and see what is needed but you will not be able to upgrade it until you get to the goal number having in it upgrade your treat bucket.

Hi judyandthecat, after placing the bucket, I collected 40 orange treats, however, I can't craft any purple treat coz it is not available in the chocolatier. How do I craft it if it's not visible? I'm at a lost. It's been 2 days n I still can't upgrade. Any advice will be awesome. Thx!

Hi judyandthecat, after placing the bucket, I collected 40 orange treats, however, I can't craft any purple treat coz it is not available in the chocolatier. How do I craft it if it's not visible? I'm at a lost. It's been 2 days n I still can't upgrade. Any advice will be awesome. Thx!

This event we are seeing items needed in the treat bucket etc but you have to reach the correct goal before you can make it or upgrade your treat bucket ....

I am not sure what I have done to the makers of this game other thn refusing to spend real money to play. I never am able to get any of the neat goals for these events.

My point is: the first item you need is orange candies by making deliveries. Well I have made over 40 deliveries and my total of orange candies is......................ONE! Getting plenty of useless skeleton keys. I say useless since I bought 2 chests and for my 2600 gold I got 1 wool and 1 flax. Really??????

I hate these events. Pretty sure I will delete this game even though I have been playing about 2 years or so.

Silver Scales take 1 flying fish and 45 minutes each
Silver Collar takes the 16 silver scales and 6 hours to complete

The maple candy canes, bat candy and chocolate caramels are not needed for the steps or the table upgrades. You can send these out. The candy canes are definitely marked as limited time items. Good thing because my barn is bursting already!

You harvest the pumpkin patch with pumpkin clippers and then rebuy them

When you touch the patch you will see the clippers at the bottom to use...

Due to massive generosity of other players who sold ready-made items, I was able to fully upgrade the Halloween table. But then I thought I still need to complete all the steps of the event to get the pet (like with the tree kitty). I was genuinely surprised to actually find the pet in my cellar, with a habitant also provided. I'm still at step 7/10 but I got the pet already, IF I don't finish all steps, will my pet be taken? Of course I plan to complete all steps (it's just taking me forever with those flying fishes).

The husky is very cute, I thought it would be a ghost dog but it seems more like a polar dog cause the habitant kind of implies so? Either way I love it.

Just wanted to stop by and say, THANKS S8. I enjoyed this event. It was awsome.
I was able to do it even though I was super busy and could only farm cpl times a day. I did use the bronze cowbells to half production time, so that things were ready when I needed it. Bought some of the orange candy from the newspaper. But still spent tons of coins, buying stuff from newspaper and nbrs to send deliveries to get the clippers n stuff needed.

I completed the quest and got the "husky". Are you sure it's not a corgi? The legs are awfully short for a sled dog. The Halloween bulldog from last year is twice its size with legs in porportion to its body.

And wouldnt it make more sense to have it be able to go in the haunted house habitat with the ghost instead of an igloo?

Halloween chocolate (like the caramel filled chocolate?) comes from the chocolatier. Each one takes 2 dark chocolate and 1 caramel sauce.
Orange candy cane comes from the fall bed and breakfast building. Each one takes 3 maple syrup, 2 maple leaves, and 3 white sugar.

Also, if you can buy everything, I don't see the point of finishing the quests. I got the dog, and didn't even have to make the collar or anything that comes after.

Hmmmm a tiny husky puppy who lives in a snow-covered igloo... Seems like something went wrong with whatever was originally planned for Halloween, and this was a winter/Christmas idea that got put in its place and called “haunted” to make up for it. Even Piper admits at one point in the goal texts that he isn't really a ghost, just a white dog. Still a very cute pet, though, and I have enjoyed the event! :D

Yes, and it showed 0 pendants. I actually had to hard boot my iPad to be able to retrieve the pendant that took 6 hours to make. Storm 8 put an update on iOS today that I was unaware of. I'm in the process of installing it now. Now if the game would quit shutting down on me, I could play again.

After hard booting my iPad the pendant has shown up. Storm8 added an update to Farm Story today for the Halloween event, which I am in the process of installing. Hopefully that will fix all the problems I'm having with getting kicked off the game repeatedly and items I make disappearing.

Don't be annoyed, perhaps the thought that the sapphire you sold helped another farmer to get his husky would cheer you up... The sapphire fetches quite a nice price too.

Try feeding your husky again when it's jumping again. You still have plenty of time to complete this goal.

You have to use the special spiderweb bait in order to catch the flying fish. I believe it is part of one of the goals to make these. Check post #1 of this thread for what stage it becomes available in your bait shop.

I got the husky yesterday. As soon as I fed her, she headed over the bridge and visited the corgis. I swapped her igloo with the fox's den, so they are all together now. Thanks to sales in the newspaper, I was able to get upgrade parts. I probably could have finished that part without help, but I was thankful for it! Then I finished the goals just to say I had. That was nice as I've quit some of the others that weren't attainable without gems.
