Whether or not I do this event will be influenced by the food calculations. I already have a lot of green-yellow dragons running around and a few green-white types as well. I like the last dragon and its typing but I'm not sure whether or not to do this one. I also need to buy habitats, expand more, and move things around. I also noticed that the sulfur dragon will expire in 4 days. Perfect timing since there's a tales and I have no bombs and not a alot of food. I have 180 something pieces so I don't know whether or not to even continue pursuing this one. A LOT FOR ME TO CONSIDER LOL

I have nearly 640k food and a lot of time next week as I'm off from work, but not happy to (again) waste so much food. I probably will because I want all dragons I can possibly get, but this way one can never save up enough food to feed the dragons that deserve it. Anyway, here we go again, will do the pumpwings overnight as I suspect that chapter 2 starts with 'harvest pumpwings'. I made that mistake at an earlier tales, won't happen again.

I'm going to guess that the 19th is the proper date, because Tales/Storybooks now seem to force start on Sundays, giving those that like to wait until the last moment about 3 less days to make preparations. Which is the new M.O. for S8. Make things worse for the customers.

My exact thoughts.. I didn't get that pop up as soon as I opened the game.. But went to the tales building and saw the grand prize, I liked it very much.. But then I got the pop up and saw the other two, decided not to participate.. Came here and saw the crafting items, I think I will just get the first dragon to craft all those things.. Scrolled down and saw that till chapter 6 at least we need to raise the first dragon to level 8 only.. So if we don't need to raise them too much, I think I will try to get the last dragon.. food doesn't matter much to me at present, because I have more than 450000 right now.. So will take the final decision after going through all the steps..
Even I didn't have date on my pop up..
The aqua artifacts and cleansing altar are nice.. But it requires soooo much of questing and crafting..
Shocked about the new send/complete quest thing.. This is going to be difficult.. (Can't expect easy things after last tales..) S8 please make sure you don't take off quests and crafts on the last day (or any other day) this time.. I see we need three things now to craft those artifact and altar..
Will be needing some blue and purple gems..

I was just going to comment that 19th is Monday, and from last tales it looks like the date should be 18th.. Anyway I would have started on Sunday if I participate.. WATCH OUT:: Add to the above: the tasks says 'Hatch' Ranger and OldWatcher dragon. That means, we can't hatch and evolve them to the required level before (as most of the players tended to do).

Personally, I will not participate on this tale. As much as I would love the last dragon, a yellow /green and green/white is not worth the food and stress, IMO.

btw, on a quick glance, we would need around 380 thou food (same as the last tale) minus the 18 thou that we will get as reward.

Well one dragon to be raised to 14 and one to 13.. Last day request and receive 15 things from neighbors (I guess) and 80 from farms and 5 battles (easier than the last 8 battles).. I am now thinking of starting tomorrow.. So that last day would be Monday.. No tournaments.. Or may be the Tuesday of new tournament would be better.. Don't know which is worse: the without tourney big guys or the little first few tourney guys..

I had a fail yesterday with Island dragon ,so he is still on the nest(9h to go).but he will stay there for 5 days,I'm not going for another,so I will maybe get 3rd nest this time(if I really need it,I know it's 100% useful,still need to collect more golds for GPD....).everything is on on my island....Flourescent is on the nest,but that's not worst,I put my Teacer Dragon to craft so she will be there until tomorow,than she takes my nest place for Ranger...ohhh I will need another nest,or just speed up something.....OMG I'm talking to myself,I should of wait to push start,but I start allways 1st day so this was automatic start......

I had a fail yesterday with Island dragon ,so he is still on the nest(9h to go).but he will stay there for 5 days,I'm not going for another,so I will maybe get 3rd nest this time(if I really need it,I know it's 100% useful,still need to collect more golds for GPD....).everything is on on my island....Flourescent is on the nest,but that's not worst,I put my Teacer Dragon to craft so she will be there until tomorow,than she takes my nest place for Ranger...ohhh I will need another nest,or just speed up something.....OMG I'm talking to myself,I should of wait to push start,but I start allways 1st day so......

May be you can do without speeding up teacher.. You have to hatch the first dragon ON the third day.. Even if you need a few hrs of third day for teacher, I think it should be OK.. The third day is not that busy..

Personally, I will not participate on this tale. As much as I would love the last dragon, a yellow /green and green/white is not worth the food and stress, IMO. going to use food to level my glasswing and guardian angel to levels 10 then try to breed diamond hybrids (i.e diamond prism, dark angel, black diamond, snowangel, astromancer) which has all eluded me for quite some time even with the diamond temple in place. I like the Tales events when we know in advance what the steps will be (even if we have to be wary of errors). I like the challenge of planning out the tasks and managing the resources so that nests, breeding den, farms, and crafting materials are all ready when they're needed. I also like being "forced" to focus on leveling up specific dragons. For the most part, my Tales dragons are the only ones I have managed to get to level 12 and higher, and they do well in the battle arena. I completed the Secret City event at mid-level, but now that I'm in the higher-level version I don't really expect to win until I have increased my coin-collection rate enough to generate more food, and until I have more dragons that can be relied on to win in the battle arena.

I'll try to get through at least Chapter 8. After that it will depend on how my food holds out and how the battles line up. I'd love to get the Wood Nymph - I've been trying for weeks to get a pink-green combination! - but whatever happens is fine.

I knew the Tales is going to start as soon as the community event finished. Usually the Tales starts in the middle of the tournament, hope players who are battling the dragons can finish the tournament quickly as there are some battles in the early chapters of the Tales. Likewise...I've decided to skip this one. Every time I get my food to a level that I can raise something valuable like RS to Level 15, a Tales comes along and depletes it. I've taken to ignoring Leaderboard events too, and found I've enjoyed the game so much more without the pressure, so I'm sure I won't regret ignoring this.

I do like the Wood Nymph, so I'll wait for it to show up in another event somewhere down the line. The attractiveness of the dragons seems to be declining as the number and frequency of the events increases.

I have a fruitful fail in one nest - I think I'll just leave it there unless I really need that nest. I tried to get a head start on the Island but failed - I've got something in there for 18 hours, either a holographic or waverider. Go figure, need something common and get a rare. Oh well, I didn't have either of these two.....

I have not stockpiled food, only have 27k right now - I know I won't get very far with that. Will keep planting and planting all day today to see what I can actually accomplish. Since I'm just cleaning/doing laundry, I just set my alarm to go off every 10 minutes to collect and plant again.

I'm also battling every hour trying to get through the tournament, I just took down the black ice so I'm on level 23. I want to get that wrapped up so that I don't get stuck on any of these acts. Cross your fingers that the rest of my battles go as well as they have so far. Only got really stuck once so far.

Still not sure if I'll go for this event, love all 3 dragons especially the Wood Nymph, I don't have any Fairytale dragons yet either. But I've just built up my food stocks to an acceptable level (270k) and leveling up these two dragons to lv 14 and 13 will bring me all the way back down to zero. On top of that Tuesday/Wednesday are difficult days for me and it would be a shame to have spent all those apples only to miss the final dragon because I can't log in whenever I need to :( so I might just collect the first two dragons and let the last one slide and save myself some apples and stress, just like in the previous Tales :)

If this Tales really does take like 360 thousand food, then I'm sorry but that's just plain ridiculous. Unless you had almost that much saved up before hand, how could anyone realistically get that much food in time? Even if you're expected to buy the food with gold- I'm forced to spend it on certain dragons whether I like them or not. I missed out on the last tales, which I was upset about due to how beautiful the Glasswing is. But this Tales? Even playing at max capicity I don't see how I'll make it. Oh well :(

I think we need about 380500 food minus the 18000 which we get as reward.. This is for the high level.. I don't know about mid and lower level.. About starting now.. Well even if you don't start, your timer will automatically start today, so you don't really have an option..

I knew I shouldn't have, but i leveled Achilles up to level 14... only need one more bite at 40K+, and he will be fully fed. Depleted my food supply down to under 1K, so of course a Tale would be the next event.

Am now up to 101K, but I don't think I am going to push very hard in the Tale. Will probably get the first two dragons.

Honestly, if there was a 4 dragon, 10K habitat as the final prize, I would do everything I could to complete the Tale! But we are being slammed with so many dragons all the time. Have come to accept that I can't breed the limited time dragons, which makes me realize that I can't have them all... so I need to focus on specific dragons or events. Otherwise, this game is just TOO STRESSFUL! :-)

I feel the same way. I'd have to wake up in the night to play in order to finish the tales, and have done so in all the past Tales. I'm not participating, although I love the prize dragon, because the last day is nearly impossible for me and not something that is fun. I have completed many past tales, and always have to spend gold. Last time I spent to skip breeding the Love dragon(couldn't breed during the Tales, but have bred 7 since then), then I had to spend to skip the asking friends for whatever it was. My good friends are spread out all over the world and the timing is unpredictable. Anyways, I feel a relief because I can concentrate on leveling and organizing in peace.

May be you can do without speeding up teacher.. You have to hatch the first dragon ON the third day.. Even if you need a few hrs of third day for teacher, I think it should be OK.. The third day is not that busy..

Thanks for replying, but I just want to make sure. The Shattered Sky, Secret City, and Forging a Hero; all belong in the same story arc. They all talked about dragons being controlled with red eyes as a characteristic. This current tale too also mentions that in chapter two and three. Are you sure this current Tale isn't a continuation of the storyline, it doesn't belong in the same story arc; because the story hasn't end yet since we didn't find out the cause behind all the dragons being controlled?

I second that! Me too hatched Ranger and was evolving him when hatch goal came up. All ok! If we think about it...if like me a lot of people hatched before goal, and it didn't work...The whole thing would be over for us that early on... and S8 wouldn't get the people spending gold on the rest of the Tales lol.

Hmm. There were some complaints over in the CS threads about the event tasks in that game not being worded very clearly. S8 recently tweaked the language a little and it helped a lot...wonder if they are trying to do the same with DS? Saying Go on/Complete a quest is a better-worded direction for new players, but it looks and sounds odd to veteran players since we are all used to certain wordings. Just a thought. :)

I think pure blue and green must be the pair having least failure.. because any other dragons would obviously include other elements..
By pure blue and green, I don't mean just water and forest, but any dragons having those two colors.. So even if you breed an island (which you might already have), with water or forest I think you should have the least failures.. Just don't include any third element.. I bred water and forest and on first try only I got the island.. It is waiting ready in my nest..
By the way, till your ranger is in nest, keep trying for island.. If you get 20 hrs timer, DON'T put it on nest until you have hatched ranger, but in case you get any other timer, use the nest for them until you need it for ranger.. All the best..

Well if it means GO ON when act start,its not easyer,you have to wait until act starts.but COMPLETE means that you can send a dragon Ranger in this case even before act starts even before new chapter starts.
But it seams there is no change in the game for now.its still COMPLETE.

Thanks for the breeding info. Currently I only have one breeding den active and don't have the 100 gold to activate my second den. So looking at the guide I have to wait until I have breed Fire with another dragon in chapter 4 before I can try for an Island dragon. I have two Fire dragons so I will breed them to get the 10 second fire Dragon.

Can't be over this early, the first 4-5 chapters are normally easy to catch up on, so you should be able to overcome a diamond breeding. Though better hope for no other hiccups.

I don't think so. If I read correctly for mid levels is magic so on low levels you might need something (easier) or nothing at all.

You can breed in advance, just don't take it off the nest until required. If you have only one nest that is difficult, I agree.

Have you crafted him? Go to your spell shop, you'll have to craft 6 hrs and then put him on nest 8 hrs (I think) so you might wanna get a move on lol.....

I'm not really bothered about these tales, the only dragon id be interested in is the last, but as most people have said, by the time you've fed 1 and 2 up, there is no food left for 3rd, as were already feeding up diamonds and champions......

I'm guessing others are in the same boat as me, but I'm finding I work really hard to win a dragon and then this oh so important dragon, sits wasted half fed on my island, for instance......

Stalwart (champ won in battles) is still 14, I've had him for ages, it's gonna take 214,000 food to go up to max level.
Guardian Angel (another champ won in battles) only 7,
Glasswing only 8,
Sky shatter only 7

(I feel like I'm missing out a tales dragon here).

Even Prime Arcane and Supreme are only on level 10! I wish there was a competition like leadership board/world event, where instead of winning a dragon you could win the chance to max feed a dragon of your choice!

Does this mean no more crafting ahead of time and leaving it in the shop until the step asks? What about the people who have no room to place decoration?

On the whole can you do craft/evolve/hatch/plant/complete/have etc etc etc.

I think each one has to be thought about logically! I do hope my thinking is correct!

For instance if you craft something ahead of time and it doesn't count, you can always craft it again, you might just need more gems etc, but it is still possible to complete the task.

However on hatching/evolving, you can only get one dragon, so you must be able to hatch/evolve earlier or that it bang, unable to complete task and your out of the tales!

Personally, I will not participate on this tale. As much as I would love the last dragon, a yellow /green and green/white is not worth the food and stress, IMO. going to use food to level my glasswing and guardian angel to levels 10 then try to breed diamond hybrids (i.e diamond prism, dark angel, black diamond, snowangel, astromancer) which has all eluded me for quite some time even with the diamond temple in place. As for the "hatch" question, for me, I crafted the Ranger and put him in the nest to get an early jump. I did NOT place him in a habitat until the step requested me to hatch him and I was fine. I would not risk putting him a habitat early.

I also sent him out after the Acts were complete for the day to collect extra water lilly's and stones. I have already crafted 1 water sprite and it looks like we will need 4 total. The only thing I'm worried about is having enough food. Won some today on spin to win so woo hoo!

It would have been a problem anyway. Just a delay in order to send the dragon on one more quest and crafting again. No big deal. Just some sadness for my lack of attention.

For crafts, try placing them on the board first instead of storing. You can store after the quest if you need the room. This seems to resolve any register issues players may have with the goal. We're looking into the experience you described. :)

There is not a feature in the game that allows us to ask for things from just the community, only from neighbors, so you will need to ask you neighbors for these orbs.:)

Just did a calculation on the number of River Lilies and River Rock (a.k.a. Stone) we need and by my calculations we are looking at 22 River Lilies nd 10 River Rock. Can anyone verify? Hopefully you get more than one when you complete the Quest, does anyone know?? I usually try to go on extra Quests when my dragons are resting to keep them in shape and to make sure I am not caught short of supplies.

Just started Act 6, my first battle was a sweeping success, one bash! I have the Aqua Artifact already crafted and in storage, ranger is hunting down more water lilies and the biggest surprise of all, my good for nothing magic dragon finally found 800 apples overnight, finally!

I'm just over 100k worth of food right now and my ranger is at a 10. I'll keep planting and crossing my fingers on food, I don't want to actually do the calculation and know how much I still need, I'm still in denial that I'll come up short. I have the weekend to set the alarm and plant, plant, plant for the final push.

Well, you have bred the island dragon, but you don't get credit until the egg hatches.

Thanks for replying, but I just want to make sure. The Shattered Sky, Secret City, and Forging a Hero; all belong in the same story arc. They all talked about dragons being controlled with red eyes as a characteristic. This current tale too also mentions that in chapter two and three. Are you sure this current Tale isn't a continuation of the storyline, it doesn't belong in the same story arc; because the story hasn't end yet since we didn't find out the cause behind all the dragons being controlled?

I misunderstood your question I thought you were asking if these new tale was part of the older tales ( completing chapters).

Sorry for the confusion, it is kinda hard to explain. So you see how the Shattered Sky is the 1st part of the story (where the plot begins with the Shattered Sky dragon being corrupted with the red eyes as the characteristics), then it leads to Secret City (talks about Curio dragon keeping one of the Sky Shards he found (from Shattered Sky Tale), and a dark dragon stealing the gate key, and then comes the previous tale, Forging a Hero, where the Adventure dragon (from Secret City) warning ForgeFather dragon the evil is coming to their Isle and telling them to be prepared. Forgefather and the gang defeated the mobs of red eyes dragons with colorless skin.

So this leads to the current tale, Wicked Waters, also mentions about the dragons being corrupted with red eyes and colorless skin. Is this a continuation of the three Tales?

You see how the previous three tales are connected (a continuation of the story about the darkness spreading through the Isles, basically a story arc)? Now is this current tale part of it, or is this a completely different story, nothing to do with the other three Tales?

Weird...I had my Island on nest even this tale started,but I kepted it for 5 days one the nest,anyway when act was prompt my act diden't finish until I sold or hatched the dragon,and this is just like always we need to hatch him on habitat or just sell him,both ways works to finish the act.

The "rule" seems to be that if you have the egg on the nest when the task comes up then you have to hatch it. If you have the dragons in the breeding den when the task comes up then putting the egg in the nest is enough.

Moral - do not take your dragons off the breeding roost one hour before the task comes up or you have to wait an extra 19 hours!

Fortunately, the lovely people on this forum are always quick to post the steps, so I purposely wait to start the event. This way I can begin trying for the necessary dragon the day before I need it. When the step appears, I hit the breeding roost and (usually) sell the egg right away. Over and done just like that. If, however, this site weren't available to help us, it would be awful to think that we'd have to wait for 20 hours - assuming we get it the first time trying :eek:

Just did a calculation on the number of River Lilies and River Rock (a.k.a. Stone) we need and by my calculations we are looking at 22 River Lilies nd 10 River Rock. Can anyone verify? Hopefully you get more than one when you complete the Quest, does anyone know?? I usually try to go on extra Quests when my dragons are resting to keep them in shape and to make sure I am not caught short of supplies.

That's what I did and there was no problems. Bred the island dragon on day 1 then just had it sitting on a nest and hatched once asked.

When I got to Chapter 7, Act 3, I found that the two Running Rivers that I'd already set out counted towards the 4 I needed for that act. I suspect that the Aqua Artifacts will be the same behavior.

Breeding the fruitful now, hope it's a smooth sailing to the end. Chapter 10 is a bit tough, the amount of food required to raise Ranger to lvl 14 and Old Watcher to lvl 13 is ridiculous. Keep planting food, but I think it's a waste to raise rare dragon Ranger to lvl 14.

I never picked them up from the time that I put them down. I saw that habitat and had laid out a river of water footsteps leaving it. Then those rivers showed up and it was perfect.

I just made a huge bone head mistake! I was feeding Ranger and kept going to Level 15. 100,000 food!!! :(

I usually spend gold to start Ch 10 early. IF I speed up now to start Ch 6 early it would save quite a bit of gold. Would speeding up now buy me an extra day overall?

Mine were in storage and they counted (I had 7 sitting in there). It didn't even go to that part of the Act, it skipped right over it. I went from 1 of 3 to 3 of 3 without ever seeing the action to craft the running rivers.

Old Watcher is already crafting, Ranger is out getting some more Lillies. And my Magic Dragon keeps finding food each night, woo hoo! All of my nests are full so I won't be able to hatch the Old Watcher until later this evening.

Just shy of 110K food at the moment. Based on my spreadsheet, I'm still short 153K - will keep planting..........

You have to have a Noble Crystal (from the Market) in order to level dragons past level 10.

I would wait a lil to get a confirmation to be sure before leveling it up, but plant enough crops to have enough just in case.

If you pay to start Ch 6 early you will get extra time for Ch 6 only, Ch 7 will start as usual, ie you will NOT get an extra day overall

But being OCD, it would bother me very much if I know that I'm missing one of the Tale from the story arc.

So if this is true, I missed a couple days doing the tale (at chapter 3), b/c all this time was waiting for a confirmation to my question. Now the question is should I pursue this and break my stash of apples or not. I think trufully I know the answer but in denial again. XD

I did the same thing with sunlight dragon.. I wasn't aiming for final prize, just did up to CH 7 or 8 I think (till I got moonglow).. My requirement was to feed sunlight to level 12.. I had in my mind the usual 15 feedings, so I fed it 4 times extra!! Even now my sunlight is at level 12 and 4 feedings!! I realised I am feeding it more than required just as I fed it the extra 4th time.. If I feed it just once more, it will be level 13..

Sounds like you're doing pretty good. When I was a low level player, my first time playing the tale, I read in the forum how many people were freaking out about the food requirement being 350K+ apples. So I got cautious and prep myself by planting crazy and not knowing I could start the tale later, I continue to plant crazy during the Tale with about 300+ apples. In the end, it was a breeze and I said to myself was that it? Why people freak out? And that's when I realize oh...that's for high level players.

Anyways, back on topic, noble crystal, you're gonna need it when you're a mid level player. Even if you have it, you're gonna need a lot of apples to raise the dragon past level 10. So, as far now, I wouldn't worry about it. If they really did require low level players to raise a dragon to level 15, lol, I would've flip the table. B\c that's insane.

I try and keep food at 1mil. I usually go under with the tales and make it up by the time another tales rolls around again. I say go for it.

Or I find that Fairytale & Forest is a slightly better option; 8 possible outcomes (one is a Prime).

Either way, Fruitful is the only "Common" outcome. The only rub is that there is one other 10 hour possible offspring; Cactus.

Thank you very much FlatFoot for the confirmation I was eagerly waiting for. There were two people telling me it's not and finally one person today thinking it is. Reading the story as it unfolds gives me a hunch it is, but I was in denial.

This is exactly the confirmation that I needed to push me to continue on with the tale.

This is my first time being on a high level (on chapter 3 act 3), couple days behind due to pending confirmation. But it was a gamble I'm willing to take.

Now, full speed ahead! Not sure if I could make it with less than 6 days left. But I would try. Wish me luck~

Waiting for Ranger to get back, the Old Watcher is already at a level 6, so I'll send him to the evolution temple as soon as the Act closes for today.

Food continues to be my only issue so far. I have 22k right now, will get 12k after completing this act. I have until Sunday to raise the rest, I can get him to an 8 with what I raise today, getting him to a 13 for Sunday will be hard. I'd like the final prize but I really liked the Old Watcher, so I'm good no matter what. I just want to see if you can really raise that much food that quickly for these tales. I'm going to stockpile for the future, for sure.



My son is a low level player, I didn't realize he was doing the tales, so I'll post what Act 8 is for him once he finishes it today. Not too hard but I'm sure he runs into a food problem here soon. I'm trying to help him out nut it's hard because I have no idea what to prep.

Tip 1: don't have a life LOL

Tip 2: if poor, plant buff beets, if middle/upper class plant upgrapes, if multi millionaire and want a life, plant rushroom/ diamondates (basically, what suits your budget and lifestyles, upgrapes is the 2nd best with impruberries being #1 in yielding the most food per hour)

Tip 3: Put all dragons on a strict diet like they're living in Africa (choose a few you want to epic and just focus on them)


Hahaha...nothing really special, other than those I also mine and send my magic on quests (b/c I just don't want to see his face anymore after many 20 hours magic fails trying to breed a diamond)

Patience and perseverance is the key to playing this kinda game, I wouldn't stress about. You only need about 400k of apples for each tale. I do it cus I'm weird and obsess with certain numbers (more like a sense of completion like Sheldon Cooper if you watch the Big Bang Theory). :P

I would like to thank Waimanalokat too for his/her opinion and giving me a push to continue with the tale. Full speed ahead~
