Hey CalicoKitten don't worry. It's hard to figure it all out when you first start. Basically the fungi come from whatever you plant. Usually it's one fungi per hour. So if you plant bananas for an HR. You get 1 fungi. If you plant some mangoes you'll get 5. So no matter what you plant, you'll get the fungi. The game automatically counts them for you and shows the tally. This time we are harvesting fungi for the storybook. Next time it will be something else. Leaves, trinkets whatever.

Fortunately i was prepared for another storybook event and left 130000 apples in my storage - plus the reward of 20000 apples for the 5th place in the leaderboard where i didn't spend any gem for. But i fed up my super rare animals too and planted and planted and could luckily feed around 210000 apples while this event.
This is again a very nice storybook - i love all horses - but i love the owl very much too - it is so beautiful - and don't want to forget the wolf - it is beautiful too.

Usually the tales take up 100000 food or more. I currently have 70000 apples and will wait until late tonight to start. As a general rule, I always keep 50000 apples. Running out of apples to feed animals for the tales is the most common reason people can't win the third animal. When more of the steps are posted, it will be easier to know how much you need. Also, closing and reopening your game might make the new animal appear in storage.

There were different tasks and rewards for low levels last time so I would expect that to be the case this time as well. So you will probably get grandmother from a later chapter. Your grand prize may also be different. Lower level food requirements may also be different.

You get Fungi when harvesting any crop at a rate of about 1.5 Fungi per hour of crop time. For crops that take less than an hour to raise, you can still get Fungi but not every time ( the odds are about 1/60 for each minute od harvest time).

Just completed Chapter 2 with little difficulty. I planted the Mystic Mangos overnight and harvested them in the morning to complete Act 1 (Harvest Mystic Mangos x6). Planted and harvested Charm Cherries from my 6 farms 5 times to complete Act 2 (Collect Fungus from Farms x44). This also completed Chapter 2 and I won Grandma.

I had a breeding gap and placed Gradma in the nest. She takes 7 hours to hatch. Once she hatches, she will need to wait until tomorrow morning to go into the Evolution Flower since my Grand Unicorn has a little over 14 hour left in it.

The Granma owl is water/nature....usually looking in the store at the related habitat and the creatures on sale will give the clues as to which element types you will need spots for to complete the goals. In this case looking at the goals posted on page 1 we also see the Fairy Ferret is needed to breed.

New habitat is dark-water-nature
Sale/goal animals are: electric, earth, dark, water. Ferret is nature, fire.

I should be able to complete all the tasks right at the turn of the "goal day" (for me it is 9:30 pm tonight) my granm-owl is in the nest and will evolve before time. UNLESS I decide to make a try for the shock fox first.....either way, As soon as Granma is off the nest I'll place whatever wooly mammoth fail I've got in the den. After that I can either wait to fulfill the fairy ferret part of the goal or start right away for shock fox and fill the goals as soon as the first try has moved to the nest.....hmmmm....... 3 animals to hatch and possibly /feed/evolve and at least one more to place in den in addition to hatching and feeding the prize creatures. This will take a bit of doing.

Hello Litabelaqua ! I am a long time player , but I have to sell my farm for lack of space , but it will take until you can again expand . We have waited so long to us TL gave new country again and now we have recently received new country . But I can not expand as fast as I want. So it takes till I 'll have 6 farms .

Having enough food is probably the hardest part.. What I did when I was low level was just get the animals I could.. Maybe you won't make the last reward but you can be planting for the next storybook :) always keep food planted between events. Good luck I hope you both get far! :)

So you may be in the lower level group, like the player above at level 19. Lower level players won't get the grandmother at the same time as the higher level players. I'm not sure what the cut off level is for the different level groups. If you are in the lower level group, you receive XP and coins for the second chapter.
Hopefully it will be clarified soon what the levels are, and posted on the first page.

So you may be in the lower level group, like the player above at level 19. Lower level players won't get the grandmother at the same time as the higher level players. I'm not sure what the cut off level is for the different level groups. If you are in the lower level group, you receive XP and coins for the second chapter.
Hopefully it will be clarified soon what the levels are, and posted on the first page.

I do not like the differences in prizes. That is wrong. Lower levels were not given the unicorn in the last event. In Castle Story, lower levels have different tasks, but the prizes are the same. it is not right to announce prizes without proper parameters. At what level will I get the posted prizes? Bad form Storm8! It is also hard that there is late info, if any, as to what we have to do: I had planted the required crop for the ch 2 so it would be ready to harvest, and it was bananas, instead. I still got the food, but this could have hurt me (although it didn't).
We need to all get the same prizes, or the event should tell us if there is a difference.

I am not calling you a liar since I have not complete the previous unicorn story but I was not at the right lvl so when the quest prompt me when I believe I reach lvl 12 or 13(I really cannot remember) I only have less than 5 days to complete... I did try though but I can CONFIRM that I was 17 or above when the unicorn ended & I am almost at the end or 2nd last last chapter.

Yeah, I didn't get the unicorn grand prize after completing the last event either. I just turned level 20 this week, so I'm guessing Little Red won't be the Grand Prize for me this time. Maybe the wolf or something? We'll see soon enough...

Chapter 3 went extremely well. Woke up and bred a Shock Fox with a Fairy Ferret to complete Act 1 (Breed Fairy Ferret with any animal). Grandmother was ready to leave the Evolution Flower at level 4, so I moved her from the Evolution Flower and this completed Act 2 (Raise Grandma to Level 4). I fed Grandmother through level 9 and put her back into the Evolution Flower. When my farms were free, I planted 5 of the farms with Adventurnips and one with Charm Cherries. Two hours later the Adventurnips were ready and I harvested them to complete Act 3 (Harvest Adventurnips x5). I collected my 10 Realm Runes for completing the chapter.

I just put Grandmother back into the Evolution Flower for her final stint to get to level 15. When I bred the Shock Fox with a Fairy Ferret, I received a 12 hour timer that I hoped would be a Shock Fox. I just moved the egg to the nest and it turns out that it was the Shock Fox required for Chapter 4 Act 1. It will be ready to hatch just as Chapter 4 is scheduled to start. Since Grandmother will be at Level 15 by then, I should be able to complete Chapter 4 within minutes of waking up tomorrow. I have a level 10 Shock Fox to help with the feeding in future steps which should make the next few Chapters go smoothly.

I'm only replying to this to let you know that, what I think the original poster was talking about when they were saying it was unfair to see a different prize than what they were actually given is on the message boards listing the steps and prizes vs reality for lower level players in the actual game. I'm at a much higher level (over level 65 now) on my regular account (& hadn't created my baby account due to a switch to iPhone from android but I'm still playing on my primary over wifi because I love the game enough to play it twice! Lol!) but my daughter was under level 19 during the last storybook adventure and her steps were different (& much easier) than mine but the grand prize for her storybook adventure was only going to be the Party Animal! Not the Unicorn! She was very upset about that and it actually made her feel less motivated to try to complete the adventure, and now plays the game less than she used to even because she saw the beautiful Grand Unicorn on here (& I think it might have even been on their pop up screen when she opened her game) & she didn't think it was fair that she wasn't even given the choice to try to win it just because of her level. Of course, I could be wrong about what the original poster meant in their post but this was how my daughter felt.

Yes! Thank you! Biggest issue is the last event said Grand Unicorn was prize. I played all the way through: the tasks were different and our grand prize was the Party Animal. I spent real world money for gems so I could win the unicorn-nowhere on the pop up and side icons made ANY mention of prize discrepancies! I know how your daughter feels-it is disheartening.

The question is which Schedule, D or E, applies to Big Bad Wolf assuming it's a Super Rare animal. Although this food schedule is easy to follow (E for Ultra Rare, D/E for Super Rare, C for Rare, etc), I still find exceptions. For example, Fennec Shox (Lightning/Fire) is a rare animal, but it needs to be fed on Schedule E. It's very expensive and doesn't make sense for a rare animal.

There are lots of times that I would follow your suggestion but it doesn't work as well for me this time. I already have an Obsidian Cyclops and I don't have any good Earth hybrids to try for. My nest won't clear until about this time tomorrow so a short wait time won't help me. When I first try for the Chromadile, it will be 24 hours before I need it, so if I get it first time, hatching would be leaving the nest. I can easily afford at least one fail and then try to time it so the Chromadile hatching occurs when it moves to the nest. It also gets me an extra try for the Tortice.

How disappointing. The reward for finishing Chapter 9 has changed from 10 Gems to 12 Runes. It seems as if all chances for free Gems are being reduced or eliminated altogether.

Chapter 6 is going smoothly despite a small mistake on my part. I planted the wrong crop overnight but it won't slow me down. I woke up this morning and fed my level 4 Shock Fox 25 times to complete Act 1 (Feed Shock Fox x25). I already had Grandmother at level 15 so Act 2 autocompleted (Raise Grandma to Level 15). I bred a Rock Rhino with a Freezel to try for a Chromadile at the same time to complete Act 3 (Breed Rock Rhino with another animal). I then realized I had not planted the Mystic Mangos overnight, so I planted them on all 6 farms and they should be ready in another 3 1/2 hours.

Unfortunately, I did not breed a Chromadile when I bred the Rock Rhino and Freezel and ended up with an 18 hour timer (Freezel). So I may fall behind in Chapter 7 since I am going to have a very busy nest. The nest will clear in about 11 hours from a Hippogryph fail (trying for Athletigator). I should have the Big Bad Wolf by then and I will place it on the nest to hatch when the nest frees up. The Breeding Den will clear in about 13 1/2 hours but I will need to wait for the Big Bad Wolf to hatch before moving it to the nest to try again for the Chromadile. That will be after bedtime for me, so it will need to wait until tomorrow morning. Even if I breed the Chromadile, it will take 18 hours before I can move it to the nest to complete the hatching required by Chapter 7 Act 1 since, it will take that long for the Freezel fail to leave the nest. Since there is no breeding steps n Chapter 8, I feel confident that I can make up any time lost.

So I may fall behind in Chapter 7 since I am going to have a very busy nest. The nest will clear in about 11 hours from a Hippogryph fail (trying for Athletigator). I should have the Big Bad Wolf by then and I will place it on the nest to hatch when the nest frees up. The Breeding Den will clear in about 13 1/2 hours but I will need to wait for the Big Bad Wolf to hatch before moving it to the nest to try again for the Chromadile. That will be after bedtime for me, so it will need to wait until tomorrow morning. Even if I breed the Chromadile, it will take 18 hours before I can move it to the nest to complete the hatching required by Chapter 7 Act 1 since, it will take that long for the Freezel fail to leave the nest. Since there is no breeding steps n Chapter 8, I feel confident that I can make up any time lost.

If you are late completing a Chapter, the next one will begin right away. You have 10 days to complete all 10 Chapters, you cannot start Chapters early without spending gems but you can complete them as late as the last day.

Well chapter two was off with a bad start (seriously, this early on in the event lol) I read the word harvest as plant, which of course was not the case so I had to plant 6 batches of mangoes then wait 8 hours for them to be ready then collect my fungus, and then get owl on the nest ready for tomorrow. I managed it with no gems so owl on the nest now. I have over 130 000 food so feeding and evolving won't be a problem and it can go in the flower first thing tomorrow (my time) my biggest problem is on my secondary account which gets no gems spent on it so space is a huge issue resulting in me only having 4 farms so I haven't even finished harvesting my 6 crops of mangoes on that never mind the rest of the chapter! I'm not to fussed on that account tho, I'll just play and see how far I can get. Normally I can complete on second account to so we shall see

Constant apples or pears are a good way to go but you need to have a lot of time on your hand to sit and harvest as often as that. I have tried it before but personally I get board of doing that. Iv heard of it being very helpful for some other players tho as you go get more food faster than the higher yield crops. It's also much cheaper if money is an issue to

And then Act 3 auto-completed (probable something to do with leveling up Grandmother, I have her at 11 now) and I received Big Bad Wolf as a reward. I was just thinking about it.

This is for low level chapter 6, I'm just not sure if there was an act 3 but I think there was.

For me, I went directly to end reward after putting Plantara egg on the hay, skipping whatever was next.

The only other thing I did while waiting, was leveling up nana (she was 14 when I put Plantara up there) so maybe one of the steps is to level her up? Maybe I'm wrong about 3 parts though.

I am delayed on this due to not having enough food at the start so had to wait to get grandmother up to level 15. I am waiting for mystic mangoes so I can finish that chapter and did first breeding attempt for chromodile, I have used two dark and water animals and have a 22 hour fail. I am assuming that this is either tortice or jellyFlash.

The important thing I would like to know is what the earnings are at level 15. If anyone has the wolf, that info is in the album. It's not on the posts.

I'm really struggling with getting food supplies up and to get gramdma to level 15 I have to make 44,000 food plus feed shockfox. Grandmas earnings at level 15 are not that good but I will do it if the Wolf is a high earner, so that's why I need to know his eventual level 15 earnings. Thanks

That is usually the most expensive step to skip. I think in the past it has been 195 gems.

Just finished up Chapter 8. I messed up my planting a little bit which caused a slight delay and I got a late start since I didn't bother to raise a baby Chromadile I already had to level 4 early so that I could feed it 25x without evolving it.

I completed the Hatching a Chromadile Step of Chapter 7 by moving a Chromadile egg to the nest, so when I woke up in the morning, I used my existing baby Chromadile to start ACT 1 (Feed Chromadile 20x) by feeding it 15 times. then I had to wait or it to evolve to finish the remaining 5 feedings. Then I planted 3 farms of Adventurnips and 3 farms of Nexus Nuts. When I harvested the 3 crops of Adventurnips, I meant to plant them with Adventurnips again to complete Act 2 (Plant Adventurnips x6). However, I accidently planted 1 with Mystic Mangos. So I had to wait until the Nexus Nuts were complete and use one of those farms to plant the last crop of Adventurnips I needed. So I only had 10 hours of crops to start with rather than 15. I already had the Big Bad Wolf at Level 15 so Act 3 (Raise Big Bad Wolf to Level 8) completed automatically. I spent the remaining part of the day on Act 4 (Collect Basket of Goodies - Harvesting 40x) planting Charm Cherries as I harvested my crops form the farms.

I will probably be late finishing Chapter 9 as well since I have bred a Knitten Kitten and Pygmy Giraffe (both of which I have) trying for the Racmoon needed for Chapter 9. Fortunately, hatching the Racmoon is the last Act of Chapter 9 and I already have one to feed. It will be another 14 hours before I can make my 3rd try at the Racmoon, so I am glad I started trying early.

Main account is doing really well. I have 2 shock foxes as I breed hundreds just as we found out we needed one so I kept one just incase when it came to it I couldn't breed it. But I got it. So they have both been feed and one has evolved which means tomorrow I don't need to evolve for the next 25 feeds and I can also keep feeding costs down. Although I'm doing well food wise. I have 2 chromodiles for later to so that's good. My second account is not doing well at all, I have had 2 of the longest fails for the shock fox but they are both new animals for that account. So I'm still waiting to get my shock fox to complete that chapter. As that account also only operates on 4 farms I'm in for a rocky road haha.

The third time was the charm and I now have a Racmoon sitting in the Breeding Den but it will need to wait until tomorrow morning to reach the nest since I have a Pygmy Giraffe (duplicate) sitting in the nest for another 14 hours.

The first part of Chapter 9 went smoothly. I woke up and clicked on the Storybook icon and Act 1 (Raise Big Bad Wolf to Level 12) autocompleted since I already have the Big Bad Wolf at level 15. I fed my level 4 Chromadile 20 times to complete Act 2 (Feed Chromadile 20x). After harvesting my overnight crops of Nexus Nuts, I planted 6 crops of Mana Bananas to complete Act 3 (Plant Mana Bananas x6). I will have to wait until tomorrow morning to complete Act 4 (Hatch a Racmoon) and it will only reach the nest.

I am set up well for Chapter 10 and I want to finish in the morning since I will be rather busy the rest of the day. I already have Big Bad Wolf at level 15 for Act1 (Raise Big Bad Wolf to Level 15). I have a level 1 Racmoon that I can use for feeding. To feed the Racmoon 20x (for Act 2), I would need to Evolve it, so I have fed it through level 3 and placed it into the Evolution Flower so it will be at Level 4 tomorrow and I can complete feeding it without evolving. I have also planted 3 farms with 20 hour crops so that I can quickly complete Act 4 (Collect Basket of Goodies - Harvesting 70x). That means that I will need to plant and harvest Mana Bananas 2 times on the remaining 3 farms to complete Act 3 (Harvest Mana Bananas x6).

Add that to my lack of space agony, and i am almost Done with this game.
Lvl 83, 134 animals, and no space for new habitats, and definitly no space for dekorations!

Taking 70 Stones from the mine to expand, get to mine 2 or 3 a day with evolving 24/7 while i can, it's Taking two weeks for a new expansion! Foten i dont even get my evolving rewards, or get one for 6 hrs, 2 for 10 to 14 hours, and each mine often only gest me one stone towards my 70!!!
the end of tornaments costs valuable rewards too... IT doesn't make any sense.

Challenges all the time with new animals that i Love but i have to keep ****ing others to give the new ones somewhere to live!

two more to Breed during this challenge within 2 days... Not a chance really.

Final chapter for me is tomorrow. I shouldn't have any problems. I have 3 baby Racmoons so that takes care of the feeding step, the Wolf has been level 15 for a couple of days already and I have planted 3 farms with Rune Prunes so I can finish as soon as I'm done with the Mana Bananas.

I started breeding for the required animals early and got them without a problem. I had the Racmoon egg on the nest waiting for 2 days so breeding was at a standstill but that's better than risking not getting another one.

I don't think I will finish this one. I have a racmoon in the den to finish chapter 9 but have a Pygmy giraffe fail on the nest with 7 hours still to go. My big bad wolf is level 12 but despite planting charm cherries every hour today (except for the one I had to plant mana bananas) I still only have 17k food. I do not want to raise him further if I can not get him to level 15. I only have 75 gems so can't buy much food. I hoped to get food from spin to win today but got coins. I have still got 6 hours to plant cherries but I still don't think that will be enough food. I have never started a story book with such a low amount of food- I used it on the leaderboard event.- lesson learnt there.

I will be able to complete the event 12 hours before the deadline. I just need to wait another 4 hours for harvesting 3 20-hour crops to fulfill the final act (Collect basket of 70 goodies from harvesting). I like horses and dragons so Little Red will be hatched immediately after I collect it, especially Little Red being an Ultra Rare animal. Good luck everyone. By the way, 3 one-hour crops (Charm Cherries) gave me 5 goodies so you probably can go with 6 8-hour crops to get the 70 goodies in one action.

I thought I was being super organised by planting my mangoes during the night, I could feed my two shock foxes first thing and grandmother is already level 15 so that would auto complete then I could collect my mangoes. Well no because my den was full because I forgot about the breed rock rhino step. It would have cost me 23 gems to clear the nest and den so I decided just to harvest mangos and wait for den and nest to clear by itself. Which means I will do mangos tonight. Not great for my food now that it means I have done mangos 12 times instead of 6 but I think I'll still be ok. Just a bit annoying

I was also in your boat with not enough food for big bad wolf. After planting pears and cherries mostly yesterday, I still did not have enough food for the wolf. This morning I only had 24k. Accordingly to Chart D, Level 12 to 13 is 16,000; 13 to 14 is 20,000 and 14 to 15 is 24,000. A whopping 60k is needed for those 3 levels.

To buy more food 250 gems will get you only 21k of food. So sadly, I had to spend my gems to skip the bad wolf level to 15. It cost me 195 gems. Thanks to my neighbors who gift me gems that I have been just saving. I wanted little red very bad and now she is in the nest. So now I will be collecting coins and planting food for awhile as I replenish my stocks again. Now I know you need about 100,000 in food before you start a storybook.

Hi! Sorry to hear you haven't been able to breed Racmoon.

Little Red is nature-fire so it can be used for breeding. But it is only available as a prize for the storybook so you cannot get one from breeding. All the final prizes have been ultra rare so far so I think Little Red is ultra rare as well (can't check because mine is on the nest). You can see Little Red's info by pressing on the little i on the left page of the storybook next to Little Red's picture.

That last story book with the Grand Unicorn that was NON-Breedable was a little disappointing after my hard work.

To breed Rock Rhino with Crystal Unicorn (if you have one) will give you another Rock Rhino (2 hours) (the probability is >95% if not higher). The other possibility is Obsidian Cyclops (Gemstone/Earth) for 45-hour breeding. You should be very happy if you get this failure though.

Crystal Unicorn - the chance of getting 2 hours breeding is really really likely ( since only other option is getting ultra rare animal). The chance to get ultra rare is SO unlikely - that it is usually shortest time to breed Rock Rihno for another Rock rhino ( very likely)

In this case, I think your Grand Unicorn will work, too. As far as I know, you can't breed any rainbow types right now, so Rock Rhino & Obsidian Cyclops are still your only outcomes... (Please correct me if I'm wrong!)

I play this game with my children and we truly enjoy it but after hearing this bit of information even my little one said she won't be participating any anymore storybooks. (I think she was a little because she spent 195 Gems to skip feeding Big Bad Wolf *Chapter 9 Act 1*) She ran out of food, but she wanted little red so badly, because of her rarity. I tried to reason with her but she grabbed her cash and said I'll pay for my gems!! So with 9 hours left, Mommy stepped in and finished her quest for little red, while she went to sleep for the night.

So again, I say thank you. I won't be playing with such intensity to get a Cracker Jack Box PRIZE!! I need something with some Value for my energy.

Hi Pjays! This is a good time to stockpile food.. Keep your crops going and when you get about 200k apples you'll feel more comfortable doing a storybook. Feeding is ****er for sure! (And sometimes breeding can hang you up) I wish you luck on the next one you try for and your kids too! It's also easier if you can breed 2 of an animal you have to feed so you're not feeding one to a high level that costs way more apples

LOL what children want... but i agree with your little : little red is indeed lovely ;)
tip for you : feed your animals to level 6-7. this is the best ratio feeding/coins earning (dixit a former player who did great statistics but no more playing)
my own tip : if you have time , try to breed lightning hybrids or the dark hybrids first , they earn more coins than the fire hybrids or the nature hybrids
this way you will find expansions easier ;)

EDIT: Oh well, it looks like it is not going to happen. I bred Chromadile with Frostfang and got an 18 hour timer. :(

Well in about 2 hours, I will have completed the storybook in both my accounts with about 11 hours to spare. I have had success in the last 3 storybooks since I started waiting until the last minute to start. It gives you time to build up your apples, money and to clear your nesting. Also gives time to see what chapters are requiring to complete to next level. I thought I wasn't going to make it on one account, because I made a mistake in breeding a chromidile and had to wait for 2 charmelions and a sea lion. I also breed 2 of each animal so it doesn't take up my apples and you can feed the 25 times without waiting for evolving. Then delete the extra animals when not needed.

I'm level 19 at the moment, but I am pretty sure I was 18 when I finished the event but I am not 100% positive of that. I did get a Little Red in storage. Hopefully someone else who's more certain will come along though to give you a solid answer.

So, confirmed (by me, as I just got little red) For lower level players, the reward is Little Red.

Cool, you're welcome! I think by the time the next event starts, I'll be around level 24 or so and probably have to do the higher level requirements, which seem impossible! At least I was able to get Little Red, I suppose!

Best thing to do when you are on the higher levels is what everyone is recommending, as much food as possible before you start and breed the required animal more than once do that it also keeps food down and helps save some time by not needing to evolve it. If possible, it's handy to have 6 farms, as when you have to harvest something and you have less than 6 farms, it's pretty hard! You can manage tho, my second account only has 4 farms and I managed to get little red but only just! My main account managed pretty easy (well not easy but easier!)

little red was a last month event mate :confused: we are already at the new story event for this month.... I am new to FFS & little red was my first story quest but in my time in DS I never heard of this even.

well if you can spend gems I think skipping bad wolf to level 15 would only cost you less than 500gems to skip since you ran out of apples instead of paying 2000 gems for little red(if there is) even a 50% discount is still crazy...
