Sorry to say that you probably tapped the wrong place and spent them for completing cooking or something like that. You have to be very careful where you tap.

Sorry, english is not my first langage. Me too, i lost my gems. I just have 5 but ... I'm sure i have not click on bad buton cause when i go to sleep, i have 5 and when i wake, 0 . I'm Alone to play on my iPad.

The person that said it clicked the wrong button? That is exactly what happened to my aunt! She wanted to Change the floors but she clicked the magic box and then it ate all 24 of her gems

All you can do is send an email to customer support and hope they can fix it. Include your ID and restaurant name. Address is support@teamlava. It can take about a week to get an answer.
