How does this event work?
To get the first individual prize, you need to collect 200 Desert Jewels. When you reach 200, the next individual prize opens up for you and will show you how many Desert Jewels you will need for the next individual prize. Once you reach 700 Desert Jewels, you are eligible for any and all of the prizes that are earned by the community (shown on the second row).

Individual Prizes:
1. 200 | Desert path x10| size 1x1 decoration
2. 500 | Magic Carpet | size 1x1 decoration
3. 1800 | Desert Trap x3 | size 1x1
4. 4000 | Magic Lamp | size 1x1
5. 8000 | Zabrina | size 1x1 decoration
Prizes 1-4 are decorative.

***Once you get Zabrina, she does not go in inventory, she goes directly to your board and is a floating character.

It's a monster that spawns from related buildings, water sources and rock sources. 5 hits. clear any other parked monsters!

Where can I get Jewel Fragments from?
market places, conservatory, tavern, adventure (all buildings rare), ponds, rock outcroppings, iron rich rocks, small rock piles (anything rock related), defeating a desert naga

Where can I get Desert Sand from?
Mermaid pond, ponds (better drop rate than rocks), rocks (Note: only ponds, not wells)

What does the snake charmer drop? (thank you stargaze91!)
Costs 400 gems, 3 hr timer | Drops: 8 desert jewels, a jewel fragment and jewels. drops: 4 desert jewels, 2 jewel fragments, 2 jewels (12 gems to speed up)
From player ClubhouseCity: My Snake Charmer drops 8 Desert Jewels but one time 32 Desert Jewels as I went from 692 to 724 on my Desert Jewels counter. Last drop was 16 Desert Jewels. These two drops must be rare.


Help! The Desert Jewels aren't going into my inventory!
There is a counter on the top right of screen and all items go there. They do not go into inventory.

Help! I can't see the upgrade button?
If you do not see the upgrade button, click somewhere else on the board and then click back on the Desert Palace. The buttons should return. Force close if still not showing.

Zabrina: I'm a genie! I've been held captive for many years in a faraway desert land. I escaped and am now looking for a new kingdom to call my home. You can call me Zabrina.
Ruler: Well, I'm sure we can figure something out to help you!

Zabrina: I would, but it's no longer there. Most of my home was destroyed by the Desert Nagas. Those who survived moved on to find new homes.
Ruler: Oh, I'm sorry to hear. Well, we'll build you a palace worthy of a princess! Is there anything you remember from your homeland?
Zabrina: Hmm...oh! Have you ever seen Desert Glass? It's a beautiful and colorful glass! It would look perfect in the Desert Palace.
Ruler: I haven't, but maybe Old Thomas would know where we could find some.
Zabrina: Old Thomas?
Ruler: Oh, he's just another friendly resident in the kingdom! Let's go meet him.

...The quests originally went out with the word "Collect," we updated it to "Have" based on everyone's feedback :) We're investigating better ways to handle these kinds of tasks for future quests.

Dialogue: Baron: I see you're working on building a palace. What a perfect addition to my kingdom! If you're going to build one worth a man of my stature, you're going to need more materials!
Ruler: Hold up! This palace isn't for you, it's for Zabrina.
Baron: That's what you think, now chop chop!
Ruler: Hmm, even though the palace isn't for the Baron, he's right. We're going to need even more materials to make it a place Zabrina would call home.

Rewards: 1,000 coins, 10 xp, 1 box of goodies (50 Glass, 15 Sand, 10 Silk - you get a pop up on screen of these 3 items and they go into inventory)

Enter not that scorched place, lest ye desire to face off against the sands’ bandit nomads! Nevertheless, something seems to have made the journey here... Is it a threat to the kingdom, or another potential ally? Extend a wary hand, and perhaps an offer of hospitality will be met with a granted wish.

Got 20 desert glass from a single market, my tavern spawned a desert naga. Make sure you don't have a monster spawned in a corner somewhere before collecting from your buildings!!!

Old Thomas' house spawned a desert naga for me. I couldn't see it, just the cloud around it, but the name at the bottom said Desert Naga (perhaps it has powers of invisibility, ha). I also got a desert sand from the Mermaid Pond.

So far regular ponds, some buildings (Old T reported), mermaid ponds (reported), iron rich rock (8/8), and rock outcroppings (20/20) spawn the 5 HP naga. I'm still testing wells, I have harvested 4 Rustic Wells and no Naga spawn or Sand drops. I don't think I'll use anymore energy on these...maybe tomorrow, but for now -no go.

@LadyLolepere - I assume this building will grow as we upgrade it, which is good and bad : /

I got 1 Jewel Fragment from 8 hits of large rock outcropping and 1 Jewel Fragment from 5 hits on iron rich rocks. I don't think I'll be purposely chopping rocks just yet. I'll have to see how the upgrades ramp up I guess then decide.

I think the forest adv is a glitch too..it dropped forest seeds ( from a previous timed quest, the forest tree I think ).. Also, I have 2 slay the desert naga adventures, one at the top of the list, and one at the bottom

Those of you who are getting the jewel fragments, are you sure they're not desert sand instead? I'm only asking because they look very similar and I have yet to collect any jewel fragments, but I have gotten 3 desert sand from the places mentioned.

I got my jewels fragements from rocks for sure, they were purple piles instead of the brown sand piles.

I think the forest adv is a glitch too..it dropped forest seeds ( from a previous timed quest, the forest tree I think ).. Also, I have 2 slay the desert naga adventures, one at the top of the list, and one at the bottom

I'm getting a mojor bug ugh I collect 4 jewels pops up a new quest and takes me back to the beginning of the quest. Now what. I'm using gems too. Now I'm back to 2/4 jewels I should have 6 and gone 4 gems
I keep editing the first post, it keeps popping up quests and reverting back. I think after 3 times it quit but I lost jewels in the process

My ponds seem to be giving quite a bit of desert sand and a few jewel fragments. I had 7 ponds out since I've been trying to collect mermaid scales. Fished in all of them twice and had 17 sand and 4 jewel fragments afterwards.

Hmm... And if there's a new monster for this event, I guess that means I'll have to get rid of my parked racoon too.

tap where u placed it in edit mode, to see if the footprint is still there.. sometimes it gets invisable when rotating until it's memorized. just hope u didnt loose it.

Update: The Desert Naga requires 5 hits. I got 2 Desert Silk when I ****ed it.

I also only received 3 Desert Sand from a Rock Outcropping. So 20 hits yielded only 3. Not very good.

I found sand and jewel fragments at the pond and spanned a desert Naga I only spawned chopping rocks so far. The buildings are marketplace conservatory come from the Tavern and old Thomas house. They gave me drops before I even had the building on the board ! Lol.

I got similar results with the rock outcroppings, only 3 desert sands out of the 20 chops

Gonna craft a ton of swords in the meantime since it looks like we'll be needing them to go on the adventures

You spawn a desert Naga randomly when clicking on ponds or chopping rocks, it usually yields 1 or 2 desert silks

Spawn is a term we use to mean that an action you did randomly "summoned" a monster, like a desert Naga. For example, clicking on ponds or clicking on rocks to "chop" them might randomly trigger a desert Naga to appear (or a troll, a skunkupine, etc).

You can try closing the game and then opening it up again, that sometimes works. Or you could try waiting it out, sometimes it takes a moment for the inventory to catch up

I had a pet raccoon too, it's not one from buying gems but from the quest we did weeks ago and had parked. If you have a raccoon parked you'll probably want to slay it because the only other way to get silk is through the 3 hour adventure. I was sorry to see mine go.

Yup, that's what I thought, too. I didn't want to have to get rid of my raccoon, but I did anyway. The Nagas from ponds are helping, although I'm finding the jewel fragments hard to come by.

Where can I get Desert Naga from?
It's a monster that spawns from related buildings, water sources and rock sources. 5 hits. clear any other parked monsters!

So far I've harvested (2)Rustic Wells a total of 10 times and Swampy pond atleast 4-6. So far between the two they haven't caused Naga spawns or dropped anything Event related. Would need more testing maybe but I think these water sources don't count. So only Ponds (Mermaid and regular) for this event. I haven't checked Lorelei's Fountain, maybe tomorrow.

So far I've harvested (2)Rustic Wells a total of 10 times and Swampy pond atleast 4-6. So far between the two they haven't caused Naga spawns or dropped anything Event related. Would need more testing maybe but I think these water sources don't count. So only Ponds (Mermaid and regular) for this event. I haven't checked Lorelei's Fountain, maybe tomorrow.

I did mean to mention though, once you have a Naga spawned is a good time to pick whatever else you need to in your kingdom (non-naga-spawning buildings/items). I made the mistake of going about my business and a Fangbeast popped up which wasted a bit of energy.

When these events occur a different spawn will happen. Until this event is over your spawn of a dire boar from a pond isnt going to happen.

I took this comment as being related to the current goal. I know of quite a few players who were holding the racoon on their game because he was so cute. The comment was because they now have to clear him in order for the nagas to show up. Maybe that's just me. :-)

No, it's not just you. :-) And it serves as a good reminder for those who have had a beast parked for so long that they forgot it's there and that they need clear it so the Nagas can spawn. The question "Why aren't the ______ spawning for me?" gets asked multiple times during every event.

I've also discovered that the faerie pond doesn't drop anything event related either. So far, the regular ponds have the best rate for sand and Nagas for me. The rocks don't produce as well. (That could change next time I collect though. Lol)

I agree. Have gotten some from clicking 2 ponds at once. I've gotten jewel fragments from the last 2 desert nagas too. Fragments are hard to come by.

we need 25 JF's for each bag of 100 desert jewels, at the rate fragments are showing up, will be lucky to win 2-3 prizes before event is over..

Ill try to make this simple for you. Sometimes i click an item and wait for the avatar to collect it. Then sometimes I click several things at once and move on before the avatar collects them all. A pretty simple concept, no?

I think that jewel fragments are a rare drop from anything the event is using. I definitely got fragments from the Tavern. I got out all my ponds from the Lucky event earlier this year and got 16 sands in one go 'round. Yay!! So between the ponds/rocks for Desert Sand, Old Thomas's House, Marketplaces, Conservatories, Taverns for Desert Glass, and Nagas/Adventures for Desert Silk, even a rare drop has a fair chance!

I did notice that the were several things about this event that seemed like we are getting some positive results from our feedback... Go S8! Love the crafting option.

Although having Sabina and Zabrina in the same Kingdom might get a little confusing...

Also if you still need a boar, my wells are spawning them.

Also also... Try pm'ing a mod when you have a problem with a post. Quicker results, op doesn't seem targeted and you don't have to discuss it with other forum-goers who disagree and clog the thread even more.

Like everyone else, I'm a bit stuck for jewel fragments. Doing gently OK on most other things though. Looks like I shall miss this timed side goal, but otherwise it looks possible.

I'm off to page one to get all the exact details, and then make a mess of my Kingdom putting out extra stuff. I have some holiday in the middle of the goal, so that might help.

I was about to buy some gems for a mithril dragon, as I have several on going quests that need it. With all this chopping, I might just wait. Plus, the number of people upset at losing their raccoons might persuade S8 to offer the 'raccoon and gems' package again.

All I have to do is look at a pond and a Desert Naga spawns, lol! One just dropped so much stuff I had to take a quick screen shot to see it all: 2 energy, 2 XP, 1 Seaweed, 3 Naga Fins, 1 Jewel Fragment, 1 Coral Cluster, 2 Desert Silk. Wow! I'm almost ready to upgrade the palace to level 2, just need a little more Desert Glass.

I am really enjoying this event so far. I like how the instructions are very clear and the helpful pop-ups every time I enter the game reminding me where to collect the necessary items. The side goals look good, too- I really want that Spitting Camel, he's adorable! (I love camels, even though I hear they can be pretty standoffish and kind of rude irl).
Plus, all this collecting from ponds is helping me with my Enchanter's Essences- ran though the last of my Mermaid Scales yesterday and have already managed to gather up a nice little supply. Sweet!

And thanks so much for the tip on using the control panel to speed collecting! I have been pulling the big notifications screen down from the top of my iPad to do it and never even thought to use the much smaller control panel (Duh). :)

I have no logged into this game in the last three days, not even to pick up the daily rotten cabbage from my hut. In the previous event I spent almost 100 gems to keep up with the daily tasks during the first days but the requirements to upgrade were so insanely high for the last days that I could not do it, not even by spending the last gems I have. Then I came here to see what prize I missed to realize that the ONLY and FINAL prize was as lame as the ones given lately. I regret spending those 100 gems in first place. Also, I do not recall being informed during the game that Thomas house drops ink. I spent more that half of my gems in speeding the jest to get ink only to realize Old Thomas house also dropped ink.

In other games from Storm8 like Dragon Story if you do not finish the event at least you got something. In the current event you can win up to 5 dragons, or if you do not play as much, or you do not want to spend gems, you will win two or three dragons. Here I spent almost 100 gems during last event but I could not finish because of the insanely high costs of the level upgrades, so after spending almost 100 gems I got nothing. And in the previous event, I spent over 100 gems to get an ugly martian Bambi which droppings are so lame I cannot remember what it gives.

Yes, I also got some pretty decoration. Decoration I have to remove to make space for the 25+ animals I have to place if I want to finish the upcoming events on time. Last event was pigs. If you do not place 25+ pigs in advance you will fall behind. And that is the other thing, you have to come here and read the upcoming tasks, or you will not be able to finish either. See my comment about ink at Old Thomas house.

This game is over. I would like to transfer my remaining gems to other game.

Relax. The desert jewel drop will increase dramatically and it is only a 1 hr timer. I recall getting 50something grapes as the vineyard got bigger. It went even higher but I don't remember exact numbers. Same w other community events. This one, based on the forum, goes from 2 to 4 to 8 by L3. I'm guessing L4 will be 16 then L5 20 or 30 something based on past events.

The fastest way to get more jewels and thus individual and community prizes is to level up the main event building as fast as possible to increase your drops of the community item.

The maxes are either 999 or possibly as much as 999,999. Since you got double digits in your inventory you only see xx/99... But when it was single digits it was either x/999 or 6/999... I forget which. So they do tell you. Just keep collecting.

As for high amounts, I like it. I like getting 20 even if it means I need 200, more than getting 2 from a tavern and needing 20. It's the same math of 10 collections but feels easier. It also makes buying a few more easier with costing 1 or 2 gems at a time if you are a little short, instead of a lot of gems for one. Again it'll likely be the same amount of gems spent but feels easier.

I had 5 ponds but just bought a few more and stored the essence pool, some large flower, and a few other 2x2s that I don't need for a while. I don't have a ton of extra energy sources, just 2 wizard schools at 20 a few times a day and a 40/wk horse so 8 is enough for me. I prefer not to waste so staying on top or crafting that uses water.

A couple of those buildings are L5 but mostly L1.

If you put one of your ponds from your board into inventory all the ponds will be brought to the front of the inventory and you won't have to scroll to find them.

Finally! After about 150 taps I have enough jewel fragments to craft the desert jewels, so don't lose hope because it is possible! I mainly focused on ponds with 25% on rocks mainly iron rich and a couple outcropping. Kept at that strategy with 75/25 and it worked :) hope others get there so they can move to the next step. Right now I have an hour wait as it sits in the forge

* update For the craft I got 20 glass, 5 sand and 2 silk

So if I am not mistaken we do not need jeweled fragments for the building, just side goals which mean once we have enough to craft we should and it gives a pretty nice bounty to help towards the building which is a nice bonus :)

RP's don't have much importance during an event.. u can always rebuild and put back together what u sold for present use. it's part of the game playing around, selling, buying, exchanging.. messing up ur kingdom then pleasingly putting the pieces back together again.. just how u want. it's fun!

I had 26/50 jewel fragments in the goal book and in inventory, so I decided to risk it and craft jewels. Now the goal book is showing 1/50 jewel fragments. :(

Jewel fragments are next to impossible . I have spent over 200 energy on various rocks and have only got 12 and 4 Nagas , anyone else getting frustrated?

Several people have reported having better luck getting fragments and Nagas from the ponds. That has been true for me as well....plus I find the sand drop rate better from ponds also.

I had 26/50 jewel fragments in inventory. So I decided to risk it and craft jewels. Now I have 1/50 jewel fragments. :(

It should read 'have' not 'collect'

'Journey to the Dessert' from the castle gave only 2DessertSilks!!! not worth the 3hour trip I feel. Is it always like that? this was my 1st journey so don't know. if it's so.. better using the Castle getting energy to use:confused:
You can get 4 and a fragment, I don't think 3 hours is worth it when you can get energy daily for collecting. Nagas seem to spawn good.

Can't build any more conservatories:( already have 42 Royal buildings and I don't wish to anything which will reduce my RP

So far this quest has been ok. Just the drop rate of jewel fragments is pretty abysmal...

Remember that the conservatories give royal points also. You would be trading royal points not giving them up. I would recommended selling watch towers and/or lantern spires. I try to keep a balance of these as either may be asked for in events. If you do sell buildings to build conservatories, double check that the buildings you sell are level 1 or as low as you have. I once sold several level 5 buildings by accident. Any new conservatories only need to be level 1 for most events. It is common to have to sell and rebuild conservatories, watch towers, lantern spires, cottages and/or farmhouses. After a while you expect it during these events.

Even though I have the rest of the content (Desert Nagas, Desert Palace, drops, decorations in market) there are no goals in my goal book related to the event. I'm playing on the Winter version of the game, could that be the reason I don't have the goals?

You should upgrade if you can.

Wow. I'm kind of behind atm but I'll definitely have to set a timer once I get to that one, it'll be tight, as long as I can do 4 a day plus one more. I don't mind doing the Adventures, I was close to cap on swords before this event started...they were my go-to craftable to get rid of iron and jewels since my Forges are usually available.

I guess it depends on the style of each player. For me the adventures rock; maybe because the nagas do not want to spawn in my little queendom. No, I don't have anything parked, it's just that I find the spawning rate too low. Thanks to the adventures I never lack silk. They have a nice timer and are not very expensive. There's plenty of iron with all that rock chopping and plenty of water from the ponds so it's nice to have the possibility to use the surplus.

Do you have the rest of the event? If no, do you have the most current version of the game?
If yes, It would be in your keep only, not available in the Barracks. I know sometimes Quest items and Adventures show up at the bottom of my list to choose from, have you scrolled all the way down?
Have you tried force closing and/or re-installing?
Are you past part 1 of Desert Flower Quest? I'm not sure when my Adventure had opened (I had an Adventure out at the time), maybe it doesn't open until Part 2?

Those are the only things I can think of. Sorry if this doesn't help : /

I have four conservatories, but only one is level 5. My level 5 dropped 6 Desert Glass, the others dropped 3. Was this a coincidence (ie, it's a random drop of 3 or 6 and it just happened that my fully upgraded conservatory dropped the higher drop)? Or should I be upgrading all my conservatories?

I am not following this discussion. I already started to craft the desert jewel Before reading this. My goal book just has a check mark as complete. So is this issue fixed?
