This is one of the quote stated in the description of Stalwart dragon. I find that the description of Stalwart dragon is quite interesting, oh well..., so the most clever dragon in my island is baby Prime Arcane. He knew how to attack Stalwart from the sides while he's distracted from the front, lol... :D

Glad it helped. I believe it is best to watch the "weak" column closely, as sometimes there can be two counts for weakness for a type and one count for strength (all for the same type, e.g. blue) against the different types of the opponent, which nets out to a negative 1, meaning any other pluses are reduced by one. If that makes any sense.

10 rounds completed on the first day, thankfully (hey, I'm awake when many of you guys are all snoozing! LOL Busy day tomorrow, so tried to get a little ahead today as a buffer.

Have not posted my tournament results for a long time as I have been busy with other things but I will try to do this one since it's a champ and help out where I can. Good luck to those who are trying for their first champion and to those adding to a big collection like myself I got a very late start but will catch up at some point probably in the middle of the night! I will annotate anything that might seem odd to some people if I think it may help. General strategy is to use Bash, magic Bash unless I feel the dragon is vulnerable to the magic in which case I start with magic first. I do this a lot when both all colours of a dragon for example are vulnerable to the magic of the opponent. For example, royal magic against many of the stone dragon combos as stone is very vulnerable to Royal as is green. Jack has Royal magic plus he has white and blue maki g him very powerful indeed against most if the stone combos and against greens and other colours as well. Jack and King are two of my most used dragons by far!

Yeah I had the game reset error happen to me as well. Lost twice on L20 with Diamond and Infinity both L15, then tried Mercury 13 and I won but then I got the hesitation garbage...where the game is pausing..but then I got the 5 gold and thought I was moving on, but in the back of my mind ANY time the game pauses and delays it usually means the player is going to get hosed and when I went for the next battle I had NOT won and lost again with Diamond 15.

That was weird- the game paused to process after Rose Knight's first hit, then set everything back so both dragons had full health, but I didn't get my first hit back! (I probably wasn't going to beat it on that turn away- it would be nice if my Rose Knight was as tough as this one! He seriously is the weakest of my champs.)

Agree Rainbow Sentinel worked for me on all rounds except 15, 20,25 and 30 which went to Infinity! Good luck to those still battling!

Look I honestly thought about taking mine from Lvl 13 to 15 but it's doing awesome where it is at the moment, if you need to take it up another level and save your food for others. Maybe feed it once every week so in a few months it will be at Lvl 15, only my thoughts though!

In case of valiant,high level pure Diamond type dragons are very effective.
In case of Inquister,you should use Lv15 pure diamond/valentine/soccer type dragon.(if you don't have,you should use any high level dragons that you have！)

I couldn't help myself, I just fed him up to max level!! I have been saving food from several tales back. I've been stockpiling to be ready for that must-have tales dragon... except it hasn't come. I just haven't liked any of the final tales dragons enough to spend ALL THAT food on the two minor dragons. And so I've just been growing and growing and growing food. I was up to 1 million+ yesterday! I'm at about 415k now. If it helps me win my first champ (gem-free!!!), it'll be worth it.

For those that don't have Diamond to use against champion type, Metal 15 has been very useful to me during tournaments. Was not very effective until level 15 though. Won against Rose Knight for me today after Diamond lost.

Thanks for this. I do have the food to get mine from 10-15. Something to consider!

Just completed the tournament with the inky real hassle being seven lisses on valiant. Otherwise only two or three losses. Very much enjoyed doing a tournament for a change and bringing out my crew ;). Full results and color patterns are On page 4, but in general I seem to use beast, King and diamond 15' and Gilded Knight 15 as my primary fighters along with a few Pinks and rainbows such as surprise and supreme to supplement. I finally brought out Valiant after is dismal showing at level 11 p and happy to report he us doing better at level twelve but he is so hungry it's going to take time to get him to fifteen. Eternal and primo have even more voracious appetites so I think I will soon have to go back to upgrapes. best if luck to those still fighting and congrats to all winners!

I started the tournament yesterday as I suddenly realised it was a champion and I don't have one yet. So I set my timer for every hour (during the day, not the night, I'm not that desperate) and low and behold, I have just completed it! 😀

Diamond level 15 got the Stalwart.

OMG, Skylord is a tough cookie. I didn't realise it was Ultra Rare. Better feed mine up to be a battle ground fighter now. Same with my Tropic Tide. Prime Arcane is Ultra too I think. That could be the new difficulty benchmark for Battle Arena if they keep releasing Ultra dragons. Make all the Super Rares colour combination I've collected obsolete >_<

This tourney did feel different. My black knight lv15 was completely ineffective in the first 20 or so matches and I had to revert back to picking colour combinations for a win.

Hatch and throw in a baby fire dragon. Don't mix up your attack combinations when retrying multiple times. Use the exact same attack pattern. I usually save my BBB attack for scenarios like this. Every other battle in arena I'll use anything but that.

In the past, I've normally been able to finish tourneys before the counter ticks under three days. Champions have stopped being a problem. This time around it took longer since there were more ultra rare dragons in the line up and I think I'll need to adjust strategy for that.

Do the Diamond hybrids work just as well as a level 15 Diamond? I have never had much luck with any of my hybrids, and I still have yet to breed a Diamond.

Any if the dragons only work well if the caretaker (i.e. us) select the right opponent. Diamond hybrids work well, in my experience, when appropriate. It is necessary to factor in their non-diamond type, don't think of them as a pure diamond. Of course, they are Ultras in the true sense, not unbreedable Ultras, which gives them an edge.

Edit: Crusader taking out Sky Giant is a classic example. Best to use against Sky Giant are red, blue, soccer, champion. My preferred champion in this case would be Dueler (just because he also looks red and blue :o), but he was waiting for the spa and is now in the spa. I have no soccer. I have no red blue dragon I considered suitable for this opponent.

Crusader is Diamond/Red and Ultra. He won, thankfully. But I would not have tried Anubis (diamond/purple) or Prime Eternal (diamond/black) as black is weak x 2 and purple weak x 1 against Sky Giant.

You got company. I can't get past Inquisitor to save me whatsoever. It's taking all the fun out of the game when one can't beat a dragon all day long. If TL wants to make champions harder then they need to cut the time to 30 minutes between each battle instead of an hour and raise the speed up to 6 gold bars.

dragonfliesinspace even if you do ultimate a second time, look at it this way - it is still a darn cheap champion and you need one. 60 gold less the 15 you won along the way means 45 gold for a champion. Not a bad deal. I did about 4 ultimates in the tournament I got my first champion in. Saw it as a good investment! :)

I'm done, finally. Should be in bed, but went for one last try. Stalwart now on the nest. Infinity 15 was my brave soldier. This was definitely a Diamond tournament on my island. Wins to Crusader (lvl 13 and lvl 5), Diamond x 2, Infinity, Unicorn and Quetzal. But messy - very messy. Losses on many rounds from Round 15 onwards.

Here's what these mean M is a magic shot, B is a bash hit. When M or B is a capital letter it means a strong hit of magic or bash. Lower case m or b is a small hit. bbM would mean the bashes did little damage to the opponent but the magic was a critical hit.

Finally got my first champ so I'm very happy. Had to ultimate inquisitor and stalwart but it was worth it. Now to just be able to breed that elusive diamond and my dragon life will be complete 😀

Woohoo! got this awesome baby on both of my accounts and on my bf's account (first champion for all accounts) :) don't remember which dragon I used on my main one, but I ****ed the Stalwart with Patriotic (white, blue, red) dragon on my baby account and with Crusader (diamond, red) on my bf's account. Btw, my first diamond on my baby account will be on the nest in 15hours, so I'm super happy about getting both champion and diamond dragons almost at the same time. Lucky me :)

Just got Stalwart. Had to use Ultimate 4 times, got 10 gold bars total back as reward. Missed out on almost a day of battle. 110 gold for a Champion is not bad imo, and I will make that back.
My Diamond 15 was pitiful in last round. It does not seem to be a good fighter overall.

I was curious which dragon would be able to defeat the Inquisitor (had about 5 hours left before tourney ends), so I sped it 14 times (56 gold), already spent a lot of time on this round (almost a whole day) before I decided to speed. Yes, it would be cheaper to use the ultimate, but I wasn't sure and was curious to see who would be able to beat it. Next time would use ultimate. Half my crew to the spa!

Speed through again using gold (68 gold total used), Level 7 Rainbow Sentinel just breeze through Rounds 26 - 29. Might have to Ultimate on this one instead of trying to speed through healing dragons and arena and hoping one would win. Not sure what to use since more than half my crew is asleep. But I guess any would do since they all have 10% chance of winning. :P

Round 30: Last couple minutes, just ultimate it with luck dragon (hoping at least luck dragon would bring me whatever kind of luck, but nope XD, gotta use ultimate) (98 gold used total, could've saved 38 gold if I would just ultimate Inquisitor way back..., but curiosity is costly). Now I could RIP. Possibly exhausted around 50+ dragons throughout the tourney (didn't really count so I won't be too discourage knowing it would be gruesome). Rose Night, Valiant and Inquisitor are the main contributors and possibly Stalwart (didn't have much time to battle him, but he's basically the same as the other two champions).

First tournament, I've participated and finished. Glad that I have the resource to do so even though I don't have any Diamonds, DIPPS or dragons pass level 10. Mainly all are in level 6. XD But kudos to those dragons, they fight hard on those seemingly impossible battles~

I used either 120 or 150 gold, but I too thought that, that was cheap, especially as we got 15 back through the tournament. I only used the ultimate in the end as I kept falling asleep, 3am and couldn't be bothered, felt quite deflated as didn't manage it without using gold, but hopefully now with a champ and a freshly hatched diamond further tournaments will be a little bit easier...............

Do the Diamond hybrids work just as well as a level 15 Diamond? I have never had much luck with any of my hybrids, and I still have yet to breed a Diamond.

From my own exp, i don't think they are as effective. I read somewhere that element weaknesses don't really negatively contribute to your outcome, but my gut feel is that my hybrids are not particularly effective against champions... at least not as effective as the pure diamond

Well I finished this tournament in just over 4 days, waited to start this to time with DT chapter then went hard to ensure I was finished with it before late DT chapters.
I lost about 15 rounds, to the champions so for me it was a bit of a challenge but not too difficult.
I understand people's frustration of battling for days against the a single dragon I suffered that for a large number of tournaments late last year and early this year. Now it is reasonable, 20 losses I can accept as long as it is not against the same dragon.

For me, playing this game for over a year I have a pretty good instinct for what colour(s) works and do not bother with calculators or charts. I rarely use my Level 15 Diamond or Champions in tournaments, unless I am stuck, as I found that over reliance on them tended to impact their success and anyway more fun for me to decide for myself what dragon would be best to use.

It is more than your gut feel JustKay, it is sound logic. Pure Diamond is weak againt nothing. Red/green/blue etc are all one weakness count against a champ. Now in fairness, being true Ultras, they get higher points for rarity than the champ does, but I tend to view that as simply balancing out the level disparity (when the champ is a lvl 20 etc).

Not to say they never win, they do, but pure Diamond results in better odds.

Tried to find your orig post about Prime arcane but can't seem to atm. But I need to say THANK YOU!!!! My 1st full tournament win (level 115, no diamond). Nearly fell over.
My typical tournament runs ridiculous losses (often 20+) per champ round, so I've only finished a couple flash tourneys. Wouldn't have thought to use PA but he won straight away. Many many thanks!

I think my lvl 15 Diamond must be a pacifist since she is utterly useless in the battle arena. ;)
