Read these interviews with teamlava and see if you agree with what they are saying:

http://appmodo.com/36766/interview-with-johnny-coghlan-of-teamlava/

Some highlights:

"The key focus at TeamLava is creating really high-quality games that are the best in their category. They need to be appealing and accessible to players, as well as offer unparalleled depth to encourage fans to keep playing, with multiple layers of discovery and achievement. We always listen to feedback from fans and treat them as family, to ensure that we are providing the best support and new free game content at all times."

How about listening to the feedback from your fans and adding some more depth, discovery, and achievement to the games so we can continue playing instead of making bull**** games like hospital story, nightclub story, etc

"All of our games are proprietary and internally developed. That means we are constantly innovating and adding to our existing games"

We haven't seen much in the way of updates to existing games have we? Certainly not "weekly updates" like they promise.

http://www.gamezebo.com/news/2010/10...rview-teamlava

"we really feel an obligation to ensure we reward that loyalty with regular free new content updates to maintain interest"

woops, looks like they lied in that interview. I play empire story and unless you call one content update in 4 months "regular" i disagree

"One thing that you can be sure of is that the team constantly reads the feedback from our users and factors their requests into our updates and product development"

Interesting, you show no indication that you do this.

"We also supply a lot of free new content to players, ensuring that they can still discover and enjoy new experiences as they play and socialize with friends every day"

really? what does everyone think about this?

I must be in a 0.00001% minority on this forum.

I don't mind about the lack of weekly updates - I still have masteries to get to.
I don't mind that no content has been added since Valentines day - I am still getting through some crops/recipies
I don't mind paying cash for gems to get what I want - I'm an adult and can spend my money however I want.
I don't think TeamLava has lied - the game was free, and content gets added fast enough for me.
I don't hate TeamLava - though my husband does because I'm always on my iPod playing Story games.

I wish this forum had more positivity, more fun threads to comment in and less complaining.
I get that some of you are upset. But I have the right to be sick to DEATH of hearing it, every day, in 99% of the posts.

I've tried to make a few fun threads, but they die. All the attention goes to negativity and complaint posts.

As my 9 year old would say in regards to the negativity here: You are sucking the jam from my donuts.

I would say monthly updates are preferred because i doubt they can give us updates every week!
but overall good game good graphics!

I'm with you too. I'm a high level player and still have crops, recipes, factories etc to master. The only game I don't play is treasure, and that's not the company's fault. I just don't like it.

I don't think you're in a minority. It's probably more a 50/50 split, but we just get drowned out. I don't bother here much, mostly because it gets nasty. Life is stressful enough without stressing over a silly game. But that's just my feeling.

Different people play to get something different though me, I'm pretty content playing my games, chatting with certain nbrs, and just relaxing.

You do have the right to be sick of the negativity, but who should you blame/direct that frustration at? The consumers? Or the company that refuses to address these issues? Where would you have these people go? The ones that have spent $$, yes the ones who have never purchased gems could simply delete. And you also have the option to stay off the forum or screen the topics? you may not mind the lack of updates... But understand, you not minding doesn't make it right. Teamlava is earning revenue off their app description. Is it $100's or $100,000's??? If it were $100,000's would you mind??? For the mostpart, people aren't talking about the masteries. Most with valid issues are referring to purchasing larger gem packages because the app promised /para-phrasing/"weekly updates...so the game keeps getting even better". I respectfully request you realize that these people are defending all of us, as paying customers. Also notice rather than fix any issues, they're now seeking to release yet another app? Why? Because its not about longevity or customer satisfaction, it's the smash and dash revenue model.

You're right though, we could all use a little more positivity, the problem is, those voicing legitimate concerns find themselves with only 2 options:

1. Keep the discussion alive
2. Drink the Kool-Aid.

If teamlava would address the issues, most would be hunting nbrs or probably NOT HERE.. Lol!!

To be honest, I think a lot of people would be happy if teamlava would simply make trunk items and gem items available for purchase for coins/game money (trunk items: after their season). You end up at higher levels with MILLIONS and nothing to use it on... There's nothing to do? The items could cost $10,000's even $100,000's (like the few they offer now).

Teamlava does offer free gems... Through the food masteries... I'm not going to lump new app offers in because I'd hate to promote another flawed app being released.

As for in-game offers, huh? One person a week? Weeee!! Likelihood? Minimal...

In essence, I highly doubt you'd get an injunction.

Has anyone besides myself actually read the TOS or iTunes Terms and Conditions?

They've pretty much covered themselves on every angle.

I sense another circular aimless venting sit in coming on so I'll leave you all with this: if you think something should be done, don't be lazy. Read the terms of service. Start there.

I believe TL just updated their Terms of Service.

So, instead of working to implement registration, they are just moving to cover themselves instead. Why the reluctance, that's what I want to know. What have they been talking about for the last 3 months? Ways to cover their corporate behind.

As much as I would love to see TL forced to remove the false descriptions from their ads, a lawsuit is probably not the answer, as our good friend Stanford has said previously. To me, there is only one way. Hit them in the wallet where it hurts. Don't buy gems...keep protesting. For our fellow players who are happy and don't have an interest in this, we are not asking you to join or do anything you don't want to do. But for those who feel the same...just don't spend money on TL.

Two lawyers argued on this same topic just a couple days ago then Norman locked the thread. One on either side of your issue. I'm not sure but I think one was a retired judge...his posts started a little after a retired judge posted in the who you are thread. If you go look at that and follow the links by the one I think is an ex judge you'll see that what you're asking won't be done...ie no injunction and probably won't be sued at least not on the issues you are talking about.

I mean shame on anyone aware of starving people who is spending time on this forum and paying for gems and purchasing an unnecessary electronic gadget ... when we should be doing something for mankind and donating our money to a legitimate cause. :O
I'm being sarcastic but its about as fair? Come on laugh with me on that one! Lmao!! And no I'm not minimizing any world issues and yes I donate a respectable amount, so let's not go there.

Now.. As for the Kool-Aid: ummmm Jim Jones... Jonestown... 900+ dead in mass suicide(massacre) ... In 78? (I think) ummm I don't think you could qualify it as obscure.... :-S. It's also where the phrase "don't drink the Kool-Aid" originated.

Wait... Dear Lord, next you'll tell me you don't routinely wrestle crocks and eat shrimp off the bar-b(ee) (misspelled I know lol)

In all honesty, I would hazard a guess that both sides equally adore the games, it's the company and it's methods where the two diverge. If the folks with issues didn't enjoy the gameplay itself, they would, in fact, simply delete the apps. It's a shame Teamlava isn't more responsive and customer-centric. I think much of this could be resolved with little effort on their part and in turn they'd see even greater revenue.

I've known several Australians and none of them have admitted to riding kangaroos! Yes, we can have fun. But the issues remain. If you want to reduce negativity, see how many of these posts are people who have been caught in gem traps. Work with us, in your own way to get TL to address these issues. If they were to do that, other than saying "sorry for the inconvenience", there would be much less of it.

What's that cartoon where the guy says "some of us have lives online to get back to"? Lmao

I'm lucky if I'm here two x a week for five minutes. But these two seem to live here and want to debate with every and anyone who posts in their thread.

Okay, certain images have hit these forums before but that was not done by TeamLava. Nobody is going to sue them for this because that's ridiculous and you'd never win.

False advertising? Not really. They might exaggerate how often they bring out more content, but other than that nothing is false about it.

If the reason you demand more frequent updates is because you've decided to buy gems, there's something you need to learn. You can't make demands when a game is free-to-play for anyone but comes with premium paid content. Surely there will be some free-to-play game factories that do listen to all of their customers and make changes the people have asked for, but I have yet to see that happen.

I'm not saying I don't think there needs to be more new content more frequently. I would love new content for this game as I'm getting really tired of making the same dishes over and over again (especially at higher levels), and seeing the same items in every restaurant I visit. But "infuriating", really? If you don't enjoy playing, don't play. Otherwise, just try to make the most of it. It's all up to you as a player.

Have a good weekend.

Geez, are you forgetting that a large part of these games rely on social networking? What's the point of making neighbors, then? After awhile you start to exchange information and find out things about people who live around the world, find out about cultural differences. I seen many people say that they would quit the games except for "their wonderful neighbors". That suggests to me that some sort of mutually beneficial social interaction is taking place.

Also, since Facebook has become so popular, I have seen people that practically live on boards like these and others. You say they have no life....they have a different life....but for reasons you haven't even considered. Some people are homebound. Some are chronically ill...some are even bed ridden and and can't work, go out, socialize with others too much. I see nothing wrong with two people who enjoy each other's banter and actually call each other by a nickname....happens all the time in the virtual world. And with registration coming, everyone will know who is who after awhile.

Ummmmm... I agree and disagree... Lol and appreciate the pleasant tone!! Yeh!!!

Is the porn actionable? No. Could teamlava do something to prevent it? Yes. Can they be held accountable? Honestly... In this specific situation? No. See their new user terms?

Yes, it is just a game.. But suggesting folks walk away from significant $ investments? Hmmm... I personally wouldn't want to write off my $$. And when I say significant... The average selling price for iTunes apps is $2.99? $4.99? Max single purchase on restaurant $99.00. That's substantially more.. And that's if that's all you spent.

On the point of gems... You said:

here's where the truth-in-advertising laws COULD potentially apply...

What prompted your decision to buy gems?

What if you as a new customer (as many are) chose to purchase a larger gem package (for better savings) based on their published app description promising weekly updates? Note it's not "free" weekly updates which would have better covered them. And also note that sentence goes on to promise the game keeps getting better. Ummmm hmmm how so? Performance? Nope... Content? Nope... Coding? I'd suggest it's gotten worse. Sooooo...

Are these statements true? Let's be honest, no. Giving them all benefit of the doubt... It's several months since the game was published, are they aware now they are NOT adding content/updating weekly? Does the published app description still make the same claims? Understand if you were in the supermarket, that app description would be the printed data on the box your item was packaged in.

If someone bought the gems because they wanted gems and the stuff listed, then yup I agree with you.

Don't forget, if you're someone who purchased that super-sized gem bundle, who's been patiently waiting week after week to spend the bulk of your gems on that new content... I'm guessing after pounding your head a bit, you'd eventually find yourself seriously ticked off, especially when you made your way here.

I'm just suggesting it's great if folks are satisfied with the content, but others aren't so fortunate and given teamlava's Invisibility cloak... It's almost impossible for people to get a hold of them. And given all sales are final... There's no recourse for consumers via less public methods. These posts have a tendency to escalate in emotion... Quickly!! Lol from say annoyed to infuriated after a couple rounds with less understanding folks?

I'm not suggesting folks run to the nearest courthouse, however I do seriously question Teamlava's ethics and disregard for corporate responsibility. Then again, I'd be blown over If there was a single experienced qualified executive actually involved with Teamlava. And no I don't think that (guessing) 26yr old vp in that interview comes close to experienced, assuming he has a master's degree? Lol sorry let's be honest nowadays there are more "vp's" out there than there are cars!!! And no, I'm not kidding.

I would think people at least find solace in realizing they aren't alone in their dismay.

Ethics, you say? Team Lava doesn't even know what that word means.

Worst. Game. Company. Ever.

Shut them down.
