I think they will do a wizarding event. The 8th book is the number one seller on Amazon. The hype for it is huge. Plus s8 seems to be with it and in the know on current events. My bet is they totally will. Especially now that my first request with David Bowie was answered. I think s8 is doing a great job these last few months. They even did repeated events like I wanted, though it was game of thrones which I'm not a fan of but enjoyed the event.

My problem is that mastering all these new foods nets you no reward. Not even a lousy regular spice. No pop up window either.

I made the mistake one cruise and paid 250 gems for the helper. If you tap it every hour it moves a small fraction of your cruise coin amount due. I think it was a huge waste of gems. Gems would have been better spent buying ingredients needed or rush cooking orders. Live and learn I guess. I feel for you. Good luck on the cruise!

I do think the extra stove for 75 gems is worthwhile. I've been purchasing one for the last few cruises. It means you can have more orders on the go and it is easier to save up a four coin order for the next day. Sometimes I have three four coin orders parked up and just keep filling one order at a time on the last stove to finish the day.

Everyone's been so helpful and I've been trying to read all the guides but I can't remember reading this question ....

I'm level 28 with 60 item pantry. I've had to refresh a number of times (usually because I don't have the specific oven). I now have a 4 coin dish for Mayo. I figured 4 coins is good, however I may need that mayo and it takes 5 hours to refresh!

Should I refresh the dish? Thanks to this forum I got a great headstart this morning and this is where I'm at:
* 60 gems left
* 12 hours for the day
* can deliver a 3 coin dish in 1 hour (cooking now)
* can deliver a 3 coin dish in 2.5 hours (have all ingredients)
* and the 4 coin mayo (delivered 3 out of 10 before I realized what I was doing).

- I could save & deliver tomorrow. But I'm wondering what others do about ingredient dishes (vs. cooking dishes).

I save up ingredients and love those over dishes. Personally I have 6-10 of everything 4 coin cruise rated.

Thank you. After delivering the dish that was cooking, I realized I needed only 8 gems for the day. I ended up refreshing dishes and finished the day by delivering a 1 star dish.

For tomorrow I now have two 4-star and one 3-star dish that I'll start before going to bed.

Being a newbie and having few gems/coins makes this event a test of strategy (or sheer will)! I'm scared to think what the last day will be like because I can't afford all the appliances or upgrades. But I really want the pretty unicorn!

It gets easier as you level, until you hit the fryer stuff. I almost always skip those as I lose out on coins to make them and they require items from the mixer, so it's even more time. In my opinion all things that require ingredients made --anything from the mixer-- should be 4 stars for the extra effort, less pizza dough maybe.

Everyone is the same set of values. They either use set A or B for difficulty I assume. It's just a game mechanic. Everyone has to do exactly the same amount each day, people aren't split into two groups or anything. Two values mixes it up a bit and can explain why some cruises are easier than others. I bet they base it on the reward.

Yay S8 is giving us THREE gold stamps today for the cruise day reward. So glad it's not just 1. Makes mastering these recipes go down to months rather than years.

8 days to learn it. I think this coincides with the day the cruise auto starts. Not 100% sure though. Once you tap Bowietie you learn the pizza forever. You don't have a timer to master it. It's just a notice that it will go away if you haven't learned it.

Why are there two sets of values and how do you determine which one you are?

These are just the usual set values we have seen in cruises so far and the team can add more to the game if they wish. To determine which set to use, look at the values for Day 2 in the table, 60 gems for 4 coins dish vs 45/46 gems. When you submit your orders for Day 2, you can calculate your orders value (the cruise gem value before you submit your order minus your cruise gem value after you have submitted the order) and check against the tables to see which is being used.

I am sitting herr trying to figure out how to finish this im currently at stage 8 golden apple sticker almost finishes for today i could finish the day for 109 gems. Im cooking 2 3 coin dishes atm to finish and have already 1 4-coin dish for overnight. I really hope i can catch up faster tomorrow cause today i had really bad luck with 4 coin dishes showing up. Any advice for the last 2 days?

Cook and stack your 3 and 4 coins dishes on your counters. Stock up the long hours ingredients like onions, green peppers, lobsters etc, starting with the longest hours. Before you submit your last order for each day, keep refreshing the other 2 orders until you get 4 coins and then close them out. I always do the refresh for the day so I can hasten my progress for the next day, especially Day 9 and 10 which are the most challenging days. Hope this helps.

I think you are already very well prepared. Some days I too just get 1 or 2 coins orders for the whole day! I usually do those that take me 30 mins or less to cook and ingredients are easy to replenish, and discard those orders which arent worth it. Dont worry, you arent alone, I'm used to refreshing lots too lol. All the best for your cruise. :)

I'm pretty sure that the cruise never asks for items with a long refresh time, like lobster, celery, mushrooms and butter. If you have a small pantry, it helps to only stock the ones that are asked for :)

Have a look at the cruise guide, it's the collected tips and strategies from more experienced players. I still use it now - it's very useful!

I don't normally start cruise on day 1. I'll use one or two days to stock up more ingredients and cook the long hours recipes, then I start it on Day 3 or 4. This way I can let my counters clear the quests recipes and store those for the cruise. You could adjust the suggestions and form your game plan to suit your play style. :)

I do this too! For the same reasons as you, plus I work on weekends - which are always the last two days of the cruise.

It does start automatically, but only after 4 days I think. You still have 10 days to complete the cruise even if you wait a couple of days to start.

When you get the cruise popup screen, you can start it or later. It will automatically start on the 5th day, 2:30pm if you don't start it before that. So you'll have a few days to "delay" and prepare. If you finish your day earlier, you'll have to wait for the next day to start. You have 10 days for your cruise counting from the day you start, as dollydaydreams1 said. It's ok to start a little later to suit your schedule and game plan. :)

Here are some tips which I wrote for Farm Story 2 - Fair event, which is similar to our cruise here. Hope it helps.

General guidelines for Fair events

Tips:
(1) Plan and start your event wisely so your last event day (i.e. most challenging day) falls on the day when you have most time to play.

(2) Maximise your Day 1 by not starting your event too close to midnight PST. E.g. If you start your event at 11pm PST, you have only 1 hour for Day 1 before Day 2 starts at midnight.

(3) Before you submit your last order for the day, ensure that your new orders for the next day are doable. Refresh it till you get a doable order or an order with higher value (to hasten your progress for the next day). Once you submit your last order for the day, your orders screen is locked and you can't refresh until the new event day starts.

(4) Ensure your machines are free at each new event day (midnight PST) so you can craft the order items for the new day, if need be.

I do this too! For the same reasons as you, plus I work on weekends - which are always the last two days of the cruise.

I desperately need parts from Cid and the herb gal, but I think I might have to do the counter stacking, but yeah I can't really afford to miss out on Cid or the money right now (I just unlocked the drink mixer too, so I have been getting some of those as well for the cruise)...hmm, maybe someone can give me advice on what to do for the last 2 days? I would definitely stack, if only for the last few days of the cruise. I know it's hard, especially when you need the coins. Take heart that once you level up and buy more appliances and expand your pantry - it will get easier! The dish I remember causing me the most trouble was the french dip. I could never pass it up because I didn't have many other 4 coin dishes unlocked, however it ties up the stove for far too long. I couldn't finish a cruise without gems until I used the stacking method. It means you can stock things in your pantry for using straight for delivery ie. 10 beef, 10 onions - without having to use them to cook dishes (because you will already have them waiting on your counter). I only have to start stacking now halfway through the cruise. Another tip is just to cook your 'stacking' dishes after you've completed a day and waiting for the next one, that way you're not using an appliance that you might need for a 30 min dish. Don't be afraid to refresh dishes that use ingredients with a long refresh time either. I still always skip dishes like the stuffed peppers - 2 coin dish using far too many of my valuable peppers! You will find a system that works for you after a while.
Lastly between cruises, definitely try to expand your pantry and stores before expanding your restaurant. It's nice to have more room for things but that will come with time :)

I am exactly the same. I love the skulls, fire breathing lizards, all sorts of awesome like that...then I see something like this and I adore it. :)

I actually started doing what littledarc said and I am stacking high timer dishes, almost done with my unicorn day, and soon my last day will start. :) I just hope I can finish! :D

I had to come back and say, I am sooo happy with finishing my first cruise, and that it was this one. I can't believe the difference in the game between how it was when it first came out and to now...this is quickly becoming one of my fave games. :D And the community here has just as much to do with it as the game itself, thank you all for being amazing! :)

Don't panic, you haven't missed out :) As far as I know, you can only collect from special characters once per visit - mostly they drop one item, but sometimes they drop more. You only need to click once and the character will decide how generous they want to be!

4 days means how long you have to unlock the Pride Pizza. You just need to cook it once - then it's yours for keeps :D

I did finish the catering event, hoping that I would get David bowietie, an animated version of him who earns gems because it says he earns gems. So then I got really mad because I found out I had to find him in my store and tap him :/ So lucky the day after I finished the event (today) I tapped him and I thought I was gonna get an animated version of David bowietie that earns gems, lik I said. But I just have to make pizzas that earn gems? I'm a little confused, but I think that an animated version would be a lot better :p or else u guys are just wasting people's ime and money

Sarah, I'm a newbie and everything has been a surprise for me too. I was also a little disappointed with the 1 gem per visit but he sometimes gives multiple rainbows and you sometimes earn more than 1 gem per pizza. Yesterday, one visit gave me 5 or 6 rainbows, another visit gave me 2 rainbows and I had a pizza give me 5 gems. So I'd say hang in there because the game does seem to become more generous.

It might seem a bit stingy at first, but once you collect several gem recipes you'll always have one cooking on your stove. Before you know it you'll be earning lots of gems! :D
You do have an animated DB, he just 'visits' your restaurant! :)

You can ignore this goal if you had missed the cruise, it'll expire on its own.
