Love this dragon!! Been saving my gold hoping for a new gold dragon. For those wondering if it's worth it, I've never regretted buying them on sale. At level 10 they max out at 5 gold per day, so a little over 5 months to pay for itself @800 gold sale price.

I really hate beastly looking dragons.. seems like flatfoot is a huge fan of them though.. apart from the old trinket, opal and the current battle crafting hidden sun one all the new ones are beastly like.. but no choice:-(:-( GOLD dragon and I have only one at present.. so bought one immediately with another gold habitat.. but wish it could have been at least one headed.. now my gold corner is going to be a huge contrast.. white gold and this black and gold..

It goes on the nest. With my first gold dragon I didn't have enough coins either, rose gold sat on a nest for a few weeks but it was worth it :)

Amazing dragon... I'll be hatching and evolving Kintsugi for the next 4 days :)

For me, that will be 3 days... Why? All my GPD's are at level 7... Why? I always log on prior to collection time, and then wait until the collection flag pops up (or the number of gold change). This way every 12 hour collection round only gives a delay of a few seconds instead of minutes...
Been doing it like this since december last year, only had to 'reset' twice. Never bought gold since cyber monday, was able to buy every habitat, speed any breeds I'd like and spend about 2000 gold speed breeding while the diamond temple was activated for just 60 gold. Still don't regret that as I got Valiant, Prism and Helios ;)

Just thought of this: anyone who buys this will need to be sure to save enough food to feed it to level 10 in order for it to be most effective. With feeding being part of the leaderboard, don't use all your food up before hatching your new Kintsugi baby :D

Knew my daughter would love it! We were super excited about the design, and then saw that it was a GOLD producing dragon! Waited for the sale, and now we each have our second GPD on a nest! Oh... nice that there is no build time for gold habitats ! :-)

Back to the leaderboard and my lonely single remaining gold! (Had 5 left after the purchase, but didn't want to hit a gold trap, so I sped up a nest for 4 gold).

You just collect the gold like you would collect coins but to get the full 5 bars you should collect every 24 hours and 2 minutes to be safe. If you collect anything under 24 hours you would collect 4 and not 5. A gold bar is produced every 4 hours and 48 minutes.
P.S. The game is heaps more fun since they've allowed us android players most of what i phone players have.

Yay - got a 30% off sale, so bought it! Between this and the Spirit Warrior value pack, I've spent more this last week on DS than I have for the whole year I've been playing it.

It will take more like 7 months to recoup investment....in my experience you generally get 4 a day , unless you carry a stopwatch around. 800 seems too high to me... Got mine for 600, which seems about right...will wait on this one until prices are more in line.
Quite frankly, I don't know if I will be playing this game in 6 months, given recent attitudinal changes at s8. They, as everybody knows, are making events impossible to finish unless you don't have a job, spouse, go on vacation or have any outside interests!

I'm at a point where I won't spend any more real money on this game (spent about ~ 40 or 50 bucks overall). I had 1.200 gold saved up because I already own 2 Treasure Dragons and I only ever use my gold for Treasure or Diamond Dragons (and these are rarely on sale) and when I want to speed up my Evolution Temple or something like this. 800 gold is a lot, but I won't use my gold for anything else, so I guess it's worth it.


Does anyone know when the treasure habitats were capped at 6? Never noticed that before. :(Didn't they change that to 8 habitats? Maybe I'm wrong, but I thought I read something like that... Well, all in all I also find it stupid to have a limit of these habitats. We already have a general habitat limit, so just let us get as many Treasure habitats as we want. But I guess they want to make it more difficult to collect the maximum amount of gold :rolleyes:

Cap limit was raised to 6 when they released the previous gold dragon (North Star) after it was pointed out that there were now 11 gold dragons and only 5 habitats. So now we are at 6 habitats and 12 dragons. It's just another way to make you log into the game as often as possible.

Well I was waiting for 30% off gold sale it came today I was a little over 1600 gold after the 35$ purchase I was torn between the leaderboards or this new gold dragon. A dragon that will cost A lot of money and not produce gold or a dragon on sale that produces gold. I choose the gold dragon. I hope they release another gold perducing dragon soon like they did after cyber Monday with the northstar dragon sitting with 811 gold waiting for the next gold dragon to be put on sale.

I think the issue/confusion/trouble with collecting is more for people who have 2 gold producing dragons in one habitat. Each dragon at level 10 can produce 5 gold per day for a total of 10 but the habitat can only hold 5 gold maximum.

As for why some people leave their GPD (copyright! lol) at level 7 instead of taking it to level 10 is beyond my comprehension :p

So I tried to click on my habitat with my new GPD dragon just to see how much he had made so far and it collected the one gold that was there. Not what I want to do. Is there a way to see (or know) how much is in the habitat without collecting it? Arctic Isles habitats work this way.

Congratulations! Can I ask you how often do you collect from your gold habitats? Kintsugi is my 7th gold giving dragon and I am not sure when I should collect gold from the habitat that has two dragons.

Twice a day for all my gold habitats that holds 5 gold, I also have 1 that holds 10 gold, that one I can wait a whole day, but I collect it anyways

Level 7 currently, I just wiped out over 150,000 food in a couple days. Wish they could increase all farms capacity to X5 times the amounts we have currently, too many mouths to feed at extravagant amounts. :)

Actually I had the same problem but mine was on level 9 all fed and ready to be evolved to 10. So it's meant to collect 4 every 24 hrs but it only collected 3. I just put it on the evolution temple to raise it to level 10. I will contact storm8 staff if it continued to misbehave!

The dragon is lvl 10 with its own habitat.
I can't check if it's the same today cuz I accidentally collected (I was half asleep ☺) But this time I got 2 gold after 12 hrs or so

What do you guys think? Is Kintsugi - 800 gold for a gpd - a good buy?

I only have Gold Horizon atm and about 1000 gold. There hasn't been a gpd cheaper than this for quite a while, right? But on the other hand it will take 160-200 days before he makes up for the 800 gold (depending on levelling up to 4 or 5 gold a day) and that's best case scenario, by which i mean perfect harvesting of the gold. So in reality it will take even longer.

So: good buy or not? Thanks!

I purchased it on the same day it went on sale. Fortunatly for me I was missing 4 gold to buy it at full price the day it went on sale. Now, if only treasure will go on sale before i save 2000 gold.

I decided it was a good buy. I break even in about 170 days. I bought it Sunday morning and am evolving it to level 7 by Wednesday and should have it evolved to level 10 shortly after that. I have to save up food as I used a LOT to get to the 7200 in leaderboard! Once I break even, that and the gold horizon alone will net 10 gold per day, which is 300/month, which is about what I have been using the last few months. So, gold from neighbors will be like extra cash and I won't need to really spend money much anymore (unless I go on a habitat buying spree or something).

I decided to get my first fold dragon on this sale. It was tough for me saving gold for so long to watch 800 disappear but I knew it would be a good investment i decided to keep playing for at least 5 months more lol. That birthday leaderboard exhausted me. With no reward. Anyhow, can someone explain how it works. I've got it to level 10 and in two days I collect 2 gold once and 1 gold this morning after 8 hours overnight. Are u only supposed to collect it once a day to maximize or can u collectnthroughout the day with the same result. I read a post here with someone saying twice a day or 24.2 hours ect. That's just too much planning. Is it different if u just collect as it comes. I thought this would bring 5 gold a day if not, I want a refund.

If you only have a single dragon, best it to collect each 24h. Just set alarm on your phone. But be careful, if you collect 1 min early, you only get 4!

So if I collect throughout the day I only get 4.

What if u collect 2 hours late? Then u only get 4 the next day. That is ridiculous.
