Dream City: General Bugs and Issues

Making sure you are using the most current version can help with many problems.


If you would like to report a bug, please make sure to include the following:

1. Your device (iOS, Android, please be as specific as possible) and it's version number
2. Your games version (this can be found on the bottom of the Help/FAQ page)
3. A description of the problem, and what you were doing when the problem occurred
4. If possible, a screenshot of the problem

iOS General Issues
To check for your device version - go to Settings, General, About - Version
To check for game version in game:
Open game, go to Menu, Help/FAQ - on the bottom edge of the box, the version will be listed
To check for game version if you can't open the game:
Open App Store, search game name (or Storm 8 Studios ), click on app, on the left side, under the logo it will show current game version

If your iOS device is having issues, make sure you've tried the following:
Restart your device
Delete and reinstall the game ( from Itunes only) Third party sites are not supported
Hard restart - hold the power and home buttons, through the power off slider, until the Apple symbol appears.
Force Close your game


Android General Issues
To check your device version - go to Settings, About Phone, Android Version *note - you can check for updates in About Phone, System Updates
To check game version in game:
Open game, go to Menu, Help/FAQ - on the bottom edge of the box, the version will be listed
To check for game version if you can't open the game:
Open App Market/Google Play, either go to My Apps, or search game name (or Storm 8), click on app, open Description information, on the bottom it will show the current game version.

If your Android device is having issues, make sure you've tried the following:
Restart your device
Delete and reinstall the game *note - reinstalled games will need to be moved to the SD card again
Move game to the SD Card - go to Settings, Apps, specific game, click "Move to SD Card" or "Move to Internal Storage"
Clear cache - go to Settings, Apps, specific game, click "Clear Cache"
You can use a task ****er/manager to help free up memory for your device

Kindle General Issues
To check for your device version - Go to Settings, More, Device, System Version
To check game version in game:
Open game, go to Menu, Help/FAQ - on the bottom edge of the box, the version will be listed
To check for game version if you can't open the game:
Open Amazon Market, search game name (or Storm 8 ), scroll down to see current version

If your Kindle is having issues, make sure you've tried the following:
Restart your device
Delete and reinstall the game
Go to Settings, More, Applications - find your game, click, clear cache
If you're not able to get into the game - Go go Settings, Wifi, turn wifi off then back on

Transferring Games - You can email support@teamlava.com (support@teamlava.com) and they can transfer your games.

You can also transfer yourself:

If you have already set up a new storm ID on your new device, you will not be able to transfer yourself.

Notifications - Make sure the notification options are set to ON in BOTH the game settings and the device settings. If both settings are on, but you're still not receiving notifications, please send an email to support@storm8.com (support@storm8.com) so they can check you game.


Purchased Gems (Gold) not showing up - try restarting you device, and even deleting and reinstalling the app. Your progress is saved on S8 servers. If these do not work on returning your gems or item, then you would need to contact support@storm8.com (support@storm8.com).
You will need to provide your ID, date of incident, type of transaction, and receipt of transaction.

What can I do to try to resolve my game issues?

iOS General Issues
If your iOS device is having issues, make sure you've tried the following:
Restart your device
Delete and reinstall the game
Hard restart - hold the power and home buttons, through the power off slider, until the Apple symbol appears.

For newer devices (iPod Touch 4th Gen and newer, iPhone 3G and newer, all iPad versions [possibly other devices]) - close out background running apps. Double tap the home button, when the screen raises up, hold the app until it starts shaking. Press the red minus symbol to close.

Connection Issues
Force shut game
Disconnect device cellular/wifi setting
Switch off device
Power off modem and router, and power up after 2 mins if you're using wifi connection
Switch on device and reconnect cellular/wifi setting
Start game

If you are using wifi, the bandwidth and number of devices connected to it are contributing factors to your connectivity performance.

Device Performance Issues
Some older devices may have trouble keeping up with the game.
Clear cache - go to Safari in Settings app on iOS device and click [Clear History and Website Data].
Check that you have sufficient space on your device. Try deleting some unused apps/photos/videos etc if you don't.
Store away some (if not all) animated decorations in your city
Avoid running other apps in the background
Let your game settle for a few minutes (3 mins or so) after starting it, before you do any activity
Delete and reinstall game if the above doesn't work

Display/Graphics Issues
Clear cache - go to Safari in Settings app on iOS device and click [Clear History and Website Data].
Restart device and game
Delete and reinstall game if the above doesn't work

Sync Issues
Ensure your connection is good. Always fresh start your game before you do any actions to avoid sync issues. It is recommended that we do not leave our games running in the background.
If you discover that you have forgotten to close out your game, force shut it without doing any activity and start it again.
You can force save your game progress by clicking on your city exchange.
Do not leave your game immediately after your last action. Try to force save your game progress and sync with Storm8 servers before closing your game.

There's an issue with having no option to edit where your buildings sit. I purchased several buildings and I can't just edit the roads to get to them, some are stuck in the middle of it all, please add an edit button to move buildings around and re-arrange them, not just the roads.

Hey, I have a question...this might not be a bug but just a boring civil addition. The jet water fountain I have isn't doing anything at all. I see the disc that's supposed to be the fountain but there's no water shooting up or anything. Is that a bug?

Hey there! This items should be animating. Sorry to hear it's not animating for you. Could you try storing it and bringing it back out to see if it will animate? If not, can you let us know which device you are playing the game on? If it's an older device or a device with older specs, the animation may have been turned off to prevent the game from slowing down or crashing.

This issue occurred after storing a couple of businesses because I did not have space for them and when I went to add them back when space became available to things occurred
1. I was told I needed a business permit - first that doesn't seem right because I already had the permit when I first got the business - why do I need a second one to bring out of storage
2. After trying to add the business back I got kicked off the game several times until the issue above finally occurred

Please make sure you close any applications running in the background on your device.
Check and make sure you have a strong connection to the game.

Yep all backgrounds applications are closed and I have a strong connection and still stuck on the loading page reading 100%

What device do you play on? Make sure you are playing version 1.1.7 ( was released on 7-9-16.) If you are playing on iOS device.

OMGosh, I didn't realize a response would be so quick lol! :) I am on android, an RCA Viking Pro 10.1 inch. I will try storing it shortly after I get done clicking a bunch of chickens for another s8 game, lol.

Edit....yeah storing it then putting it back out didn't work. I'm hoping to get a new ipad soon, so no biggie. :p Just wanted to be sure it wasn't a bug. :)

Ooh!! Can you please turn off animations for all android games if they lag? Especially Fantasy Forest Story, I haven't been able to open it for months now (I always close all background apps and only one 1 app at a time), it never loads anymore, it just crashes. I have uninstalled, re-installed, tried to send a ticket etc. This game is too laggy and androids can't handle as much as iOS.

Try submitting some business orders to get them to appear. We see more of them at lower levels.

My ship returns for my boardwalk order in 25 hours. I thought it was every 8 hours. Was there some change made?

Not that I know of, my ship returned in 8hrs when the timer hits zero. The full cycle is 20 hours (12 to submit and 8 for it to return). Is it possible that you missed your last ship?

Keep a lookout for the timer at your Boardwalk and your ship should return when it hits zero. Please let me know if you're still having issues.

I'm having issues with CityPalooza tickets. My count is stuck at 139 despite me fulfilling several ticket-worthy orders. Please advise and fix. I already restarted my phone twice.

I am at level 20 and have also been having this problem, and have been for a while. Sometimes the citizens seem to randomly stop giving you coins or items for a few hours to a day or so, then suddenly they start again. I can not discern a pattern or a cause - it happens at different times of the day and it doesn't seem to matter if I am filling orders or not. Is this a bug? Or is there something specific we need to do to guarantee the citizens continually give coins and items?

I've read through this thread and done the following: hard restart, cleared Safari cache, confirmed I have the latest iOS (I'm on an iPad2), I have plenty of space available, I've stored items that are animated, and I'm on a very fast connection with only two devices that are wireless - the rest are wired.

The game still crashes all of the time. I'm lucky if I can get in 2 minutes of game play at a time. The game gets really upset when I try and put items into the slots for each factory. Once through the factory list is about all it will take. Another strange thing - when I'm pulling an item down into a slot in a factory, black lines appear at odd angles (like it's slicing the background). Then I know it isn't long before it crashes.

I'm hoping the crashing will be resolved soon. I remember "seeing through" another game I came to love (Fairy Tale Wonderland). I'm not sure I want to go through that again. If there are any other "tricks" I'm open to trying them. Thanks.

Hi. The CM has confirmed this isnt a bug. It's the same in my game too. They appear randomly and there's nothing we need to do. Please see this thread (http://forum.storm8.com/showthread.php?92778-No-more-money-from-pedestrians/page3) for more info. Thanks.


The CM has checked on this and the game is working fine. The pedestrians walking around is random. We'll see more after completing shops orders or finishing up an order on the Boardwalk. Let's keep submitting those orders. :)

You can try to reinstall your game and try it without running other apps. The other alternative is to try playing your city on your another device and see if it works better. You can use the Login Feature (http://forum.storm8.com/showthread.php?59955-iOS-New-Login-feature-in-Restaurant-Story!-(login-applies-to-all-games)&p=759602&viewfull=1#post759602) to transfer your games to the other device. Hope this helps.

Sorry to hear that! We've taken a look at your account and see that you have the Conservatory. Can you double check your board and your storage to make sure it isn't there?

If you have go button next to your goal, try hitting that to see if it takes you to it.

If not check under market- 5 tabs over.

I had goals on my other games to get to level 17 in dream city. I had over 3 hours left to complete the goal which I did a few moments ago. I went to my other games and the goal has disappeared. It was a progressive goal and I was part way through - I assume the next part to the goal would have been to reach level 20. Whats going on??

Oh no, I'm very sorry this happened to you. :( I need your help with more info if you can. Did you make those coffee one shot (load all slots at one go) or did you make them in separate batches (reload slots over span of several hours)? If you had made them at one go, do you think it's possible your game had a sync issue? If it's a sync issue, please try the suggestions under Sync issue section in Post 2 of current thread.

I set stuff up and closed the game for the night. When I opened it the next morning, all of my coffee was gone. Maybe I maxed out, because I was making so much. If so, instead of taking it all, give a warning.

I don't see how to add my storm8 name and password to this game. How do I do that, so I don't lose anything. It is still not working, so I want to reinstall it.

Oh good that you had. Dream City doesn't has this setup. Click and hold down the dream city icon and you'll see a "X" and click on it. This will delete app. It's ok, I just deleted mine and my game is fine.

Hi both, sorry that you're still having the game crashing. May I ask what specific device are you using? I'm not sure if it's due to your devices. Some devices may have a performance issue cos Dream City is quite an animated game. :(

Sometimes my orders get repeated too. Not sure what's your mastery level, you get more variety of crafts once you are able to unlock them.

I have iPhone 6S plus with latest iOS update 9.3.4. Phone Only few months old with 80GB still in space No issue prior to update of game. I have followed the same process as above. No change. It's actually not playable as it keeps crashing every 10 secs.

I emailed also. Hopefully, there is a quick fix. I agree with you, I love the game and was excited about the update. I can't wait to get started on my bridge! I don't even think I get ten seconds. I collect one thing and CRASH, loading again. It's a very frustrating cycle. I hope they help us! :)

Sorry to hear about that. The team is working on the factories right now. In regards to the Brown Stones, were they in storage when it was gone or were they hovering over your factory?

I assume they were in storage and actually hit the button to complete it and it took that for a moment and when I checked on Stage two it shows I have zero stones for Pahse one. I completed over 25 orders to get them. I'm not sure I'll play more.

Nope, you neednt start your games all over again. You can use the Login feature in Bakery Story to transfer all your Storm8 games to your iPhone. See New device - transfer your games (http://forums.storm8.com/showthread.php?92773-Dream-City-Game-Guide&p=1321612&viewfull=1#post1321612) for more information. Remember to log unto your Game Centre on your iPhone before you start your games. Yes, it would be nice if Dream CIty has the login feature too. :o

Sorry The_Morrighan, the highrises aren't meant to be stored nor sold, by design. :( Would you like to try to store your civic building instead to place your businesses? A fully upgraded highrise yields a higher population per square compared to a civic building in general. Hope it helps.

When I switched devices a few years back, I contacted storm8 via email and they transferred everything for me. Now I was switching from android to iOS, & I believe there is a way you are suppose to be able to login and do it - which would be much simpler, but I am not an expert. In any case, emailing storm8 is always an option.

If you set up the new iPad with the same Apple ID, in theory it should download all your games at the level you were at on the old device. This is the case on my iPhone. Good Luck.

Hi KarenHanna. Don't worry, you won't lose your game. :) Please see New device - transfer your games (http://forums.storm8.com/showthread.php?92773-Dream-City-Game-Guide&p=1321612&viewfull=1#post1321612) on how to transfer all your Storm8 games to your new device.

Try logging into your Game Centre on your new device to recover your game.

To log back into Game Center, please follow these instructions on your device:

1. Device Settings (little silver cog icon on your device)
2. scroll all the way down to Game Center
3. tap Game Center and login where it says Apple ID.
4. Restart game.
