Fruit Smoothie Extravaganza! May 18 2016

The Fruit Smoothie Extravaganza Update contains 5 new "appliances," 4 of which are a new type of appliance and one of which is a regular appliance, the Smoothie Mixer. The 4 new appliances are plant pots which can grow pineapples, kiwis, mangoes, and dragon fruit if you spend one watering can to begin the growing (the watering can can be unlocked for 2500 in Charlotte's Fruit Stand and restocks in 1 hr and costs 20 cents apiece). Each fruit takes a different amount of time to grow, the pineapple being the shortest at 1 hour, then the kiwi at two hours, the mango at four hours, and the dragon fruit at eight hours. Once they are ready, each fruit can be harvested to yield 3 fruit. There is also the option to "quick grow" fruit if you have a golden watering can which can currently only be obtainable from several goals listed below in this thread. Quick growing a fruit takes one golden watering can and will give you 3 of the fruit you choose in 1 minute instead of whatever time it usually takes to grow the fruit.

After collecting the fruit, the fruit can be used to make a smoothie in the Smoothie Mixer by combining one grown fruit with one fruit from Charlotte's fruit stand, depending on which smoothie recipe it is. These smoothies have a chance to drop the juice pictured in the Rewards icon shown under the ingredients. The chance is approximately 33%, meaning that you will most likely get one juice out of every fruit harvest. However, these numbers are unconfirmed and because it is a chance you may get two juices out of one harvest or you might get zero. These juices can then be used to create high-coin recipes on normal appliances, or one of each juice can be used to make a Rainbow Smoothie in the Smoothie Mixer, which is also a high coin recipe.

Agreed!! This appears to be a permanent update which is really unfortunate. Essentially 5 new appliances...how awful. I'm in a similar situation with no room, not enough coins to expand, etc. In addition, take into consideration the additional counters needed to put these new smoothies and even more space is consumed! Yuck.

Limited events always take multiple appliance slots now and the rewards from them are major let-downs as well. Disappointing and frustrating update to say the least.

That would be really cool to have an outdoor garden kind of thing! Hope they think about adding that and moving these in a future update! Would really make this new pot addition be more interesting, although I really love it already- 20 coin and 10 coin dishes, and I love growing fruit!

i was about to leave my comment on the inventory space, and found you beat me to it.

it is already a nightmare to save up special ingredients for event (let alone outcome from mixer and ingredient that take time to make such as peanute butter thingy), in order to expand, i have to save those parts that are required for expanding, and upgrading pantry as well. i am always out of inventory to try to collect enough ingredient to make dishes..
why can't it be more like RS2 to have them at a separate space/ tab.

Looks like I am the only one who is thrilled with this update! I adore fruit, smoothies, fruit cakes... I was so happy to see everything is permanent :) Though like many of you I have some space issues, so today I decided to expand and not bother with unlocking melting pot and apple pie for awhile, especially since there are so many new and high profit recipes... Good point with this update is there is no need to rush for anyone who is still in the middle of lavender and tea tasks.

I love fruit and smoothies and new recipes. I do wish we had an orchard or a garden. Also, my inventory is crazy. Something's got to give. I removed all thank you notes, then some bricks, now I am deleting the gourmet recipe ingredients. Oh well, happy for the good things.

Okay S8. If we are going to have the secret bakers club, this new fruit thing, AND a timed event then you need to fix the issue with deleting from your pantry. We should be able to delete a portion of items that we have too many of instead all ALL OF THEM. And I know you can do it because you do it in restaurant story 2. I can't fit all of this stuff in my pantry and I have a 170 capacity. It means that I can't prep during that 4 hour downtime for the secret bakers club and that is irritating.

But the pantry system really needs to change, we can't have thank you notes, bricks and coupons mixed with ingredients! And they should make a garden for all of the bushes, they belong outside and not in the bakery.

I don't agree with this 'Random Drop' of fruit juices. It clearly says 'Rewards' when you make the smoothie - so why am I not getting a juice for every smoothie made? If it's random, then the 'Rewards' portion should be removed. IMHO

Weird that juice is a random byproduct of smoothies. Seems like you'd either get it or you wouldn't. I would prefer every 2nd smoothie nets one juice or something along those lines. Random makes it hard to plan and planning is crucial for the long recipes with long restock times...

I hope it's permanent, i'm not touching it until the Motherly Love event is over. Now that CS has got a timed event i'm now concentrating my efforts on that and jumping in to BS2 every 2 hours. Not doing Special Deliveries, if they've got lavender / tea items.

I absolutely love this update and that its permanent! I'm really surprised to see some players upset about it? It brings variety to the game and that's something to be happy about! Other game companies dont seem to put much effort into their updates and the games end up being bland and unexciting. I think storm8 does a pretty good job at keeping their games and updates exciting, that's why I keep coming back to play.

I also love how they seemed to have fixed the drop rate for expansion parts, or at least I seem to be getting them much more often lately. :)

In the meantime, if you look up the layouts people have come up with for BS, RS, RS2 games, it could help with the limited tables and seats / lots of appliances situation. At lower levels I'd separate my bakery into 3 areas: orders, kitchen, and table area. Try not to leave any free floor space in your kitchen area, instead use your counters as space between the appliances. Appliances too close together can slow you down if you tap the wrong one.

I don't seem to have a lot of problems with coins, but I've chosen to stock up and wait on a few appliances. Maybe storm8 could soon add a feature like RS2's spices. I'm thinking "a la mode" whipped cream we can make at the mixer or blender and will give us a coin boost when we add it to recipes? Just throwing out ideas. ;)

I'm loving this update too. In fact, I'm enjoying this game more now..almost quit during the cherry blossom ordeal! Still struggling with my crowded bakery as it takes forever to get enough coins to do anything..decisions..decisions..lol.

i'm with you, guys. i see that they improve the game in the right way.
the highest expenses comes starting from level 22, they become really huge.
and i'm totally sure that people who only start playing now, will get through easier than we did:
- they have secret club feature from level 14
- and this fruit feature growing from levels 17 to 21
so they have access to 10coins food that we didn't have when we were there :)



in the meantime, i'm really curious about these golden cans...
i just hope that one day someone or something will start to drop them.
because out of goals we can only get 5? 6?
i hope they didn't mean to keep useless recipe in 4 trees menus, when ingreds for them are unaccessible.

Agreed, that would probably be way too much- the silver reward would be worth more than the gold one even! I think they might need to change how the silver works for the smoothies entirely because of the low plate count being slightly confusing. Hopefully they will also change the "Rewards" to "Can reward" for the picture of the juice because that is also slightly confusing and people may think it gives juice every time.

how do you get kiwi juice?

I served as many kiwi cooler smoothie only got xp exp but not juice every serve

trying to make kiwi bars now but short of juice lol
