Recently raised Forest to level 15, he has always been quite strong against black and a good backup on white and champs. :) So gonna try him out a little bit ;)
And as soon as he and Air are done battling (31 more bottles of sun needed after this tournament for Solar), they are allowed a little bit of breeding den time, let's see if they can give me my first prime ;):D

I usually use fire on the resource dragons, and win 90% of the time. :)

My fire dragon is at level 13. I need to get it to 15 ASAP as I have seen it being successful in many battles.

P.S. I just fought the cartographer on the android with Aladin lvl10 and got it.
But on my I pad it simply won't go down!! Have had 6 losses so far and 2 to fire.

Yes some players have really strong fires and for others fire is nothing special. As for me, I only use him whenever I don't have tournaments and he wins 99.9% of the time (he always wins second time round ) during the last tournament he beat 28 out of 30 opponents first try. I only struggled with round 20 and 25. My fire is level 15

I personally have never used my Fire Dragon. My champion of the battle arena is my Templar Dragon (L15, champion type) but thinking of giving it a fight or 99 in the attempt in getting the new Solar Dragon. Ps won its first attempt

Found this info some ingenious person thought up regarding Disposable Fires: Especially when fighting a high level champion type, if your DIPPS (Diamond, Infinity, Passion, Pyramid, Soccer who have a 25% chance @ a critical hit when L14 or L15 against a L20 champion) or Metal (15% @ L14 or L15) are defeated & healing, OR if you don't have any of them, buy a Fire for coins (10 second incubation). A L1 Fire has the same 10% chance as ALL other dragons @ ANY level. Throw the L1 Fire into battle. If he is defeated, sell him as this saves on healing time. When the next battle comes around do the same thing. I have seen it work. :)

Mine too. I have 3 fire dragons, all named after Sith lords (im a nerd lol) ;) and they are excellent in battles. And my air dragon is ****er, too.

My diamonds and all champs (except dueller) are duds in the arena.

This is true. Last tourney I had trouble with round 20 and 25. Had an abundance of duplicates that was filling up habitats that I needed and just not enough time to trade all of them off. So, I decided to start using duplicates that I didn't need for their color gems. Lvl1 Air took down rd20 and lvl1 fruitful, rd25. If your stuck on champs, this is worth a shot.

Well, last tournament went terribly. I even stopped writing wins down by round 10 it was so bad. Hopefully this one is better. Haven't gotten a Tourney Dragon since Downpour. Since the last Tournament I have leveled my Fire Dragon to level 15 and used him in all regular arena battles. He has won all but 2. Let's see how he does in the Tournament!

Hmmmm, awfully bad planning on my part. Didn't realise this was a FLASH tournament and happily put Diamond 15, Warrior Prince 15, Prime Eternal 10 and Gilded Knight 11 on breeding duty this morning. THEN started the tournament. Oh dear. Just faced Knightmare level 11. Dueler 10 did the necessary nicely, thankfully; but I'd like my big ***s back in action ASAP.

I'd decided to try an experiment (for my island anyway) and use champs and diamonds only this tournament, just for something different. I may have to rethink that strategy as Warrior Prince and Diamond are romancing for another 11 hours!

I've always used the commons, and especially Fire, Air and Forest. Also when they level 10 they won most of the fights, usually backed-up by each other. Since I raised these three and Diamond to level 15 battling was never easier. And still they lose sometimes, but the spa line is rarely longer than 5 at the end of tournaments :)

So far for this one third loss of the tournament, Forest went down to Spooky Tree in round 15, Fire is next to try. No stress at all, more than enough time left :)

I'm really done with that s game crashing or resetting after I won a battle. I finally beat Prize Fighter with a lvl 1 FireFlower. Click a few habitats and all the sudden I see my arena flashing again. I click on, there is Prize Fighter, not defeated. I try the FireFlower again and it loses the match.

I guess I shouldn't be surprised but it still makes me plenty mad. I won't be trying to play catch up tomorrow. I'm done with this tournament.

For every Champion I used my metal level 15 he took every one of them down for most of these super dragons I used fire level 15 he only lost twice all of the rest I use either Diamond level 15 or King level 15 the prize is sitting in storage until a nest opens up

Haha. Pretty much exactly what I do. If it's a more "feminine" dragon I lean more to magic. If it's a more "masculine" dragon I use more bash.

It's not supposed to make any difference whatsoever. Dragon type/level is what is the difference maker. Of course some people will swear by using babies on the more difficult dragons (champ types usually). I have had this work for me. Some people will also swear by using Fire dragons in tourneys. I've seen people use Fire with excellent results the entire tournament.

For champion type dragons, it's essential to have maxed level Diamond, Soccer, Passion, Pyramid and Infinity dragons. Diamond and Infinity are the obtainable ones. The others you'll have to wait for a pack on sale or for them to be made available through the game again.

Done. My original experiment plan (just champs and diamonds) didn't work out - had to revert to colours! I ended up with 5 in the spa queue, so not too bad at all.

Well Mire does not do too much for me so I have not really been trying for this tournament, however stuck on Prize Fighter for 20 battles.
I am slowly coming to the realisation that this game is no longer entertaining for me. With the unattainable, for me, May Flower event and continued frustrations with tournaments I am taking more steps to walking away all together.:(
Here is hoping that the next Tales will be enjoyable and not have a ridiculous last step like the last one and most important of all an awesome looking dragon because it is all about looks isn't it?:cool:

i agree with you. Most tourneys have ticked me off because like this one I'll be still sitting on prize fighter as it draws to a close. I have given up on them.
It's a shame because i have seen in the past
there have been champs as prizes. But Not once have we gotten to play for a champ since i have started this game. I have seen many people ask but never any reply.
I don't like feeling like i am forced into buying gold (i understand they need to make money from these games)...so for now I'll just breed, feed and evolve and not bother too much with tourneys/tales events.

I'm probably not gonna make it. Two dragon left and only a little over 3hrs to go. It's not a big deal as Mire isn't one of the "must have" dragons for me. I do think it's time to start trying for a diamond, maybe champs, won't be so hard to get by then.

Every single dragon in the game, regardless of it's level or type, has a 10% chance of beating a Champion level 15 and above. People with habitats full of level 15 Champions and Diamond hybrids have the same odds (and problems) as the rest of us in trying to beat the high level Champion dragons. It's all about luck, persistence and time management. There are charts and tools out there that tell you which dragons have the best odds against any opponent, but we are not allowed to post links to them for some reason. The Dragon Story Wikia has a lot of helpful info about battling. I've won tournaments and I have no Champion or Diamond dragons.

i am so stuck on centurion, don't want to spend another gold as last night fell in a big trap gold hole 1000 gold for 200k food!!! i already have 800k on my own, yes now over 1 mil of food but 1000 gold saved up for 1/2yr wipe off just in second. that gold is saved for a gold dragon... hik hil hik...... i want my gold back....

I had an impossible time with Prize Fighter - Spent over a day and a half battling that dragon - all ending in a loss. Yup...stuck on Centurion...with 2 hours left, I guess I won't win this one.
Might have had a chance if my game hadn't had a glitch. I had *finally* won against Prize Fighter...but it didn't save so still had to fight him at the next combat, making me lose another day. :(

I had an impossible time with Prize Fighter - Spent over a day and a half battling that dragon - all ending in a loss. Yet another tournament that I could not finish. I was stuck on prize fighter since saturday noon. Nothing moved that dragon (but mind you, in phaze tournament I did beat him easily with my diamond).

And I have a nice no-tournament win dragon to go with my no-world-event final personal milestone dragon. Perhaps storm 8 can go for the trifecta with a no-complete-dragon-tales dragon this week.

Yep I did not make it either.
I finally took down Prize Fighter with four hours to go.
Got to Centurion and lost my Level 15 Diamond and could not be bothered use gold to try again and also go for Mire.
