You get occasional drops of energy at level 5. The most energy I've gotten out of it is a 5 energy drops. My purple alicorn gives the most at 40 - I also get 5 drops from the wedding alicorn. Then there's the 10 I always get from my wizard school.

Initially it droped only 1 glimmerdust for me, put it in storage, took it out when I read it may drop living wood and it seems the drops are now more various but never got enery so it's pretty rare

:) Yes! Do any of these ones have an Account Settings? If they don't, use Bakery as it's the quickest to get through the tutorial so that you can access the blue S8 button top right of screen.

You'll find step by step instructions in the Hub in post 3 (http://forums.storm8.com/showthread.php?75916-How-to-use-the-Hub-to-find-information-and-ask-questions&p=1070887&viewfull=1#post1070887). You should also try logging into Facebook by using your device Settings and then trying to reconnect for the games that are run through FB (like eg Frozen Frenzy, Candy). If these don't work for you, you will need to get Support to help you. Good luck!

You may need to sell some other town buildings. You can have 40 Town buildings. The number of each of these buildings you can have is limited to your total town building count.

The Sabina storyline I've completed the cutting Sabina free I've got the desert sands goal in my menu bit but the house goal isn't appearing and I think according to the goal guide I need to complete this before I can get the desert sands adventure and progress? So why isn't it appearing? Thanks

Now that the adventure is unlocked you will get a goal asking you to on an adventure to get the Heart of the Sands. Once you have that Sabina's house is unlocked and can be built. You are soooooo close! ;)

I started out loving Castle Story, but the quests got harder because I was playing the game without spending my real $$ on gems, so it takes a long time to gather up the Glimmerdust (months for Ivy's house!!) And now I am not finding the dratted Skunkupines so I can get the rat tails for the hot sauce so I can make the Spicy Feast for the Glimmer something quest for the knights!!!! And I need Glimmerdust for super glue and builders paste to finish a couple of buildings. Getting discouraged again. And the promos for other games has got to stop! That's why I took a break from CS, I got involved with a couple of their other games because they sent me there in the first place!!! I want to keep playing CS, there's something about it I like, but the drops for some of the items needs to change unless I'm doing something wrong... And I could be. I just found this forum the other day and haven't gone through the whole guide yet...I'm working on it. So I guess to sum it up, I am looking for suggestions for rat tails and Glimmerdust!! Thanks!!

Ask neighbors to gift you with glimmer dust. If you need neighbors, there is an add me thread on the forum

mushrooms are a great source for finding glimmerdust and chopping some of the old logs (I think it's what they're called lol). Hope that helps some with the glitterdust! :)

Dead trees and mushroom circles have always been a great source of glimmerdust for me. You can also get your neighbours to send you dust daily gifting so make use of that resource if at all possible hope this helps somewhat :)

You can ask all your neighbors for help. You'll only get responses from 20 of them each day. So if you ask 60 neighbors for help, you can get 20 back today. Once the S8 day switches, the remaining 40 have a chance to reply (of which you'll only get 20 back that day).

How do people choose what buildings/events to spend gems on/speed up or make sure to get right away vs waiting and working through the goals at non-gem-costing speed? I'm asking specifically because of situations like this: I bought up the bait market and the beastbane display right as soon as they came on the market (800 gems total) ... didn't really get anything out of buying it immediately. same situation with glimmeregg forge. sure, some of these items are no longer available for purchase but they don't add much more the decoration to my kingdom. Conversely, I didn't speed through the last monster hunt (season 5) despite being within close reach of crafting the MRC and subsequently a bunch of purple alicorns. I decided that since I had the beastbane display and only needed 3 tokens to hit 70, id stick it out and save my gems for something else. I ended up one of the many people who unfortunately didn't get any purple alicorns before the price went up to 50 gold coins and limited to only 1.

Now, this isn't a complaint, i'm not looking to rehash what is already being discussed in pages and pages of a separate thread concerning this specific issue. I know that the examples i gave have some technicalities associated with them that are being worked out but there are plenty more I could give that follow the same pattern. I could say the same for the cherry hive event or the glimmeregg hunt,i rushed through both of those and was done almost a week or maybe even more before the event expired, with essentially no benefit of finishing early ...

So generally speaking ... what are people's strategies as far as what goals/items, i guess, to invest in right away and what ones could stand (and perhaps even benefit) from waiting and seeing how they play out? I hope that makes sense.

Make full use of the forum for all goals especially timed events that way you know what is required way ahead if schedule so say for example the goal is to collect from 10 cottages at step 6, when you are at step 2 make sure you have the required number of built cottages to place before end of step 5 or the required resources to build the 10 so you don't waste any time.

As for gem buildings during timed quests the forum again is the top resource for solutions to any queries or questions and people are more than happy to help.

I myself have just completed using gems to build the bountiful table to level 5 so it now drops feasts this information I obtained from the hub for gem number required for each stage and I calculated whether it is worth my while for drops and long time use on the board.

On my browser I have a folder of handy bookmarks for CS to reference at speed for goals/inventory/general discussion try bookmarking these pages for quick reference next time :)

Please explain are you are at too low a level for dire boars to appear or are you not triggering the correct collections which spawns them?

I did not think to come look here until now, where I notice it says not to start on the flowers until the goal is finished- is there anything you can do to help me. Thank you

You must have 3 seeds in your inventory to pass this goal. Unfortunately, you need to get some more for the goal to complete. Don't make lilies until chapter 4 starts and the goal is in your book. You need to MAKE one of each lily for chapter 4, so don't use them up till the goal asks you. Good luck!


How do you check out someone's kingdom if they are not your neighbor? I often see people post their Storm ID for others to look, but how?
You can only send an invite to them to visit. Most players simply write on the wall of the player that they can decline the invite. :)

Its not like anyone cares but i honestly feel like eracing my games i did the seed thing and of course if you over the changing of seeds to flowers in the potion shop we are going to do so i ended up with more than three flowers of each color and the graph is not moving and mo indication that i have been on the adventure 50 times then you must have been up dating all your games because i couldn't get on them all day this has happened on other quests just when i'm near the end trouble with the game how about that i think you just want people to spend their money on gems so they can nuy their way to the end of the quest any way after three years you can keep your dragon eggs etc.

Like you, I didn't see "not to start on the flowers until goal 3 is finished" - until after I started the Lilies. I had only collected 2/3 seeds on Ch3/goal3. Now I'm stuck.

But I did not collect my Lilies yet. Had hoped that would make a difference, but still no more seeds from the Elder Cave adventure after 10-12 tries

I even read in another forum that you "can't collect more seeds if your glimmerdust is full", so I used a lot. Again, more adventures, but no more seeds,

Anyone know I will ever get any more fire & ice seeds within collecting my lilies?

They are unrelated (sort of). As I posted above and in the main thread in post 2, seeds are rare. I'm not sure where you read that bit about the glimmerdust, but it doesn't matter if you're maxed on glimmerdust, it doesn't affect whether you would get seeds to drop. The adventure does drops GD more than anything else though. The point about GD is that if you are maxed out on it, the adventure drops a few more coin to compensate.

If you want to continue, you'll need those 3 seeds in inventory. Good luck!

I'm a level 32 player but haven't got to the bit in the game where I have to defeat the troll King yet - apparently dire boars start to appear later along my storyline but I am ages away from that.

Yeah, kinda knew that. Mostly I was wanting advice about collecting the lilies or delaying. And to know if I was just completely stuck with no hope of moving on.

I decided to not collect my Lilies yet, since need them for Goal 4. Tried the adventure to the elder cave 10 more times and finally got 1 more fire seed. Expecting my goal to finally move to #4, I was next disappointed to find instead goal 3 now says "1/3". As if
I never collected the seeds used for lilies.

I've played this game many years. Guess I was due for a glitch. Still frustrating to not even have a real chance to get a new dragon.

I pressed on go and went to the magic forge and started to make "the thing" (dont remember what it was) and now when I collected it nothing hapend :/
I can press go on the last goal but when i go to the magic forge i cant make "the thing" again.

Have you read post 2 in the main thread? You just need to force close your game. All of your answers are in post 2...

I have a question about crafting the Dragon Stone in the Magic Forge. I have two forges and I paid 200 gems to get make a second stone . When they both finished I only received one stone in inventory. Does this mean I lost 200 gems that I paid?

You can only buy a second stone when you get to the part where you can craft your first dragon, not before. It costs 500 gems the second stone. You should contact Pika.

Can you post what goals are in your book please. The fort is core story, so it will unlock once you've done certain goals. If you click on the words "story guide" below it will take you to a summary of all goals.

I'm so sorry for how I worded it before I was completely off! It's the "trial of the explorer" that I'm trying to complete :)

I am at level 37 with 46 plots open/cleared currently, but can't tell how many I had to begin with at level 1 to subtract my personal expansions. Reached all landmarks/people...and completed the goals for each.

Is there specific plot I need to get to? Or a certain number of expansions I need to have done in all? Possibly perform an expansion that requires a certain amount of supplies (lanterns and expansion permits)? I think I've only done one expansion that required a single permit though so far. Maybe that's where my issue is?

You need to collect a dragon egg from the Forgotten Roost. It's a rare drop. Tou craft a dragon you will also need one Burning Ember, which drops from the adventure 'Traverse the Desert Sands'.

you have to unlock Sabina (expand to her), and do the associated goals. Part of that goal chain is to unlock the Ancient Roost. The roost drops dragon eggs (rarely:p). When you get an egg from the roost, you'll get a goal to hatch the dragon.

The tavern is a town building and there is a limit to how many town buildings we can have (40 at lvl 50, less at lower lvls), you have to sell some other town buildings to build a new one. Check the marked under the town tab if you're unsure which buildings are considered town buildings

If you want to continue with main story, then 'what does it matter' should be completed. The next goal after this triggers the Blythewood Sapling goals which moves the whole story along.

The jousting arena upgrade will allow a monster to spawn during a monster hunt. A L5 arena does not currently trigger any other goals.

yes! You can click on Market icon (lower right corner) and then My Inventory; or you can put your game into Edit mode (next to the Market icon) and click on the left side where it says Inventory.

Using market is good for viewing and using edit is good for placing items that you have previously put into storage.

You need to expand to Sabina. I don't remember which one exactly, but one of the goals in this chain will open the ability to go on the Desert Sand adventure :)

I'm so sorry for how I worded it before I was completely off! It's the "trial of the explorer" that I'm trying to complete :)

I am at level 37 with 46 plots open/cleared currently, but can't tell how many I had to begin with at level 1 to subtract my personal expansions. Reached all landmarks/people...and completed the goals for each.

Is there specific plot I need to get to? Or a certain number of expansions I need to have done in all? Possibly perform an expansion that requires a certain amount of supplies (lanterns and expansion permits)? I think I've only done one expansion that required a single permit though so far. Maybe that's where my issue is?

At the time this goal came out, we hadn't had expansions for a while so the plot was in the top left corner near the Magic Garden. It's probably more about numbers than a specific plot for newer players. Let us know which number on the map was the trigger for you if you can. :)

Maybe you have a monster on your board. You could try to turn on the sound to know that. If it's not this case then contact s8 support

I have 2 and that has been more than enough - I have eggs I haven't bothered to hatch. I don't think you should sell them though, 1000 coins is not worth it. You never know, one day there may be an event that needs wiskers and mythic essence. I hope so as I am nearly maxed on both.

Town and Royal buildings are limited to your level and the cap. The building guide (linked in the Hub) has all the info on this :) to buy more, you have to sell another one of like type.

Apple Tree for the golden apples!! I got an apple tree with my saved gems and then saved up some more for a multi-flowering bush (40 gems) which now has me maxed out on red petals! Hope this helps!

You need to visit your gifting buddies (or those who send you gifts) and ask them on their wall to send you some :)

I've found that triggering a fangbeast is a good source. They show up all the time for me when I'm collecting from my dozen farmhouses. They also like cows, chickens, stables, hatchery.

If you mean what trade can drop a skunkupie, then it's either of the 2 Belladonna ones - Trade with Belladonna or Send Belladonna Plants :)

If you're looking at drops, you will find what you're looking for (hopefully!:)) in the Inventory Guide.

I can't remember the name of the trade but, it was the first trade in the Royal Exchange above the magic fruit trade, in it you collected skunkupies to trade. I have both of the ones that you mentioned above but missing the one that was first in the list. I don't see it in the building description in the HUB either. Was I the only one that was getting it? That would be really bizarre, lol.

Can't think off the top of my head what it might be, but perhaps someone else might remember? Could have been a goal that expired... Where are you up to in the story? Or could this be it?

In the Magic Forge, I'm asked for "Enchanted Adamant Bar", and this one requests 10 "I don't know what" from Dragon.

And to get a dragon, I need, not only a Burning Ember, but also A Large Diamond !
I went several times ( 2 or 3 times a day) to my 2 deep mines, but got nothing.

My question is : How many weeks does it take to find this special diamond ?

At the time this goal was released the mystery fragment was a real struggle to find. there is a note to say the drop rate was doubled to give you a better chance of finding it. Like all other random drops, this one is definitely a rare drop! Are you mines L5? If they aren't, the drops will be the same, but the collection time reduces so you can fit in more collections which also increases your chance of getting the drop. Whoever the first person was who said this game requires a lot of patience, they weren't kidding! :) we are willing that fragment to drop for you soon!

edit to add: cyndora is correct, you have to visit one neighbour at a time to leave a message. You can use copy/paste or set up shortcuts (iOS) through settings to leave messages so you don't have to type same thing over and over too. ;) SW

Yes you can have more than one. I have five in my kingdom, however it's a very rare drop from the forgotten roost. :)

those come only from the glimmer bulb seed (and not in every single one either) in harvesting but from several buildings too I think. you've got to be patient on this one babe sorry! I know it's a long grower! I'd plant 4 for each one you need to be safe

I got the goal to do the "Traverse the Desert" adventure. Only my barracks showed it as available, so I did it. Completed that goal, and my keep is still showing that that particular adventure is locked by goal. It's still available to do in the barracks. I've forced closed, but that didn't seem to help. Once you get to 40 energy this is the cap. When you level up you get a full burst of another 40 energy until you get to Level 50 which is the max current level.

Have you checked your inventory? If it's not there, try closing the game, turn off the device and leave it off for a couple of minutes. It clears out the device memory and might work

Only use golden items for timed events until you get over 50. Unless for a timed event, I rarely use any item unless I have over 50 remaining after use. I.e. If using 5, wait until have 55, if need 20, wait until have 70. You never know what you will need when and with so many timed events, if you don't keep your stock up, you won't be prepared.

If you have only just upgraded the app, or reached level 15, then without intensive playing and gem use, I would think this event is not worth starting if you have 4 days left. There is a LOT of collecting to do. Up to you of course, but even with the full 10 days most of us are only going to scape through if at all....

It is locked by goal in the market, but it can be trade (for 99 trade tickets) in the Royal Exchange.

Does it mean it can, one day or later, become unlocked by goal (and so, which one ?)
Or does it worth to let my trade tickets gone to buy it ?

The goal is to have the 99 trade tickets. Once you exchange them in the Royal Exchange the camp is unlocked in the market.

It is certainly well worth buying it as soon as you are able to.

it seems players have their own way of playing. As for me, a longtime player, I have never bought the tinker camp, it's still locked by goal. I just don't see the need to trade that many tickets for it. I just keep my other workshops going just about continuously. Like I said, just a different way of play.

As for permit vs camp, it's up to you really. The building guide has a list of what you can craft in the Tinker Camp. You need to decide on whether the ability to craft more items at a time would be beneficial vs more space. (Personally I love my tinker camp, and am very glad to have it) ;)

Make sure you've no other monsters on your board. At this point, when you collect from the glimmergate, Greselda will appear. She is considered a monster, hence why you need to have a clear board. You get to treat her like a beastie and whack her 99 times. :)

You cannot craft it until you have completed the previous goals. The horse statues don't come up until you have completed the market and neighbour visits.

Yes, I figured that you had another monster on your board - you'll notice Greselda is in a red dress too and after she turns 'good', her clothes change. I agree, the raccoons are too cute! The dialogue in this part of the story is so good! I've written some material about it which I'll get around to posting at some stage (a job I said I'd work on from earlier in the year).

I've been trying rock outcropping & rich iron ore with only a couple dropped through several formations. I even bought a jeweler building but need 10 jewels to build it! collect from mines, chop rock outcroppings. I wouldn't spend gems on an item with a good drop rate if you wait a few days. I've removed the reference from the inventory guide as a gift as that is no longer relevant. you'll get there! :)

I think you've hit the nail on the head accurately with "supply and demand changes frequently"! Couldn't be more true!! :) One of the reasons this game is engaging (and frustrating!) is because of the immediate changes you can have in a resource. You are maxed on something for ages and ages, and then all a sudden, back to 0 and fighting to get more. Even simple items like silver, wood and stone are like this. Coal too because of all the earth wisps you need to make lanterns. Time management and prioritising are part of game play strategy. We all find it tough going at certain points, so you are certainly not alone.

The jeweler is a good building to have, but it doesn't drop jewels every time either. Try to focus your collections of those things that do drop jewels for a couple of days. Before you know it you will see the black bar flash on screen. :)

You need to expand to Ivy...the tree lady right above your kingdom. She will open the Potion Shop where you can then craft glue & dyes.

Says part 4 & 5 are both made in the Workshop (as special recipe). Not sure which part you're at, you mentioned paper but there's parchment and then magic pages to craft.

You need to make 10 Magic Ink's and 10 Fine Parchments, then the Magic Page recipe will unlock (in Workshop), then after making 10 of the Magic Pages, the actual Tome recipe unlocks.

The coins needed are only available during "Monster hunts/Monster seasons". A couple times a year there will be a special event that will allow you to earn these tokens. There is also one item called Beastbane Display (which drops various tokens) but it was a limited time purchase. It may become available again but it cost over 400 gems I believe.
There hasn't been a hunt since springtime so we're all hoping for one soon.

PS- Most people tend to save up their tokens for the Cabbage Hut because of the prizes found in Barons Tent, not the Cooking Camp, but totally up to you. Just thought I'd mention it.
All of the buildings require a lot of Gold Troll tokens to purchase. It will most likely take several seasons to save up for a building btw unless you use Gems/real money.

It says here that we can use inventory of swords instead of forging all 6 but that we still have to wait. It is not seeing my sword in inventory. I don't mind waiting but I would rather not use anymore of my iron ore. What can I do, if anything? Thanks.

Ah, I see. You asked about the Lapis so I jumped ahead. You're currently on Part 1-Chapter 7 still. I'm pretty sure once you collect from your tree for the first time that will complete part 1 and then open part 2.
Part 2 is when you can craft the Potion of Gills (Potion Shop) Part 2-Chapter 4 and you go on Deep Sea Adventures Part 2-Chapter 6.

Post moved.... What goal are you on? If a goal says MAKE then you craft it, if it says HAVE, then inventory counts. ;)

I am wondering if I will still get the ext troll hunt if Kaz has to come back home. There hasn't been a troll hunt for a while. I am hoping there will be one again soon. Also once I get enough troll coins will I still be able to get the Mythic Research Centre? It is still showing in my trade wagon but I read somewhere it is expired.

Yes you will get the hunt :) they are unrelated goals. And yes you can still get the MRC. The next monster hunt season will (if past schedules are any indication), be soon.

I can't seem to trigger any trolls, just boars, fang beasts and skunkupines. I don't have the glimmer fountain, the trolls training ground or level 10 coliseum listed under troll essence in Inventory.

Why don't they have a troll trap like the other beasts? Does anyone have any tips or suggestions to help? Thanks.

I found the post in Inventory Guide, but I think you've already looked there too because you mention the Fountain and Colosseum.
So other then that I've found a post talking about glimmer trolls (although it was mention during a now expired monster hunt):
"Glimmer trolls: coin buildings (especially royal), non animal resource buildings, mushrooms, cabbages, rocks" & "Collecting from glimmerbulbs does trigger the glimmer troll."

Yep. You'll have to wait for next hunt to start. On upside it's been a while since the last one so I'm thinking(hoping) there's going to be one soonish!
