I have 2 fire dragons; one at level 4 which I keep in the stable and one at level 15 who is currently questing for globes. Guess I should pull my baby out for quests and use the grown up one for battle. Good advice, random59 :D

As soon as Fire is all finished at the Day spa from getting patched up, will be off too the arena it goes, might even have to get another one and leave it as a baby backup!

In the past I've used either an epic Air or a high level pink/white hybrid dragon against Warrior King. With Air, I just used two magics against him. With Cotton Candy I used bash, magic, magic.

This is certainly a pink and yellow tournament! Every winner (list here (http://forums.storm8.com/showthread.php?91065-Tournament-Phase-Dragon&p=1285330&viewfull=1#post1285330)) for me, other than the champions, has been a pink OR yellow hybrid or a pink/yellow (e.g. Henna, Lightning).

Edit - actually, I think Pride might muck up that run, unless I use a champion..... pink and/or yellow not much use against Pride.

I'd use a black hybrid against Pride as both rainbow and pink are weak against it.

Pride
Rainbow: Use: Mythic, Gold, Fairytale, Champion Avoid: Blue, White, Black, Tropic, Metal
Pink Use: Black, Gold, Fairytale, Gemstone, Champion, Soccer Avoid: Yellow, Purple, Mythic, Royal

I'd avoid black as it is only strong against Pink, weak against Rainbow. Consequently the net point score for black would be zero.

I used champion - it was either that or a gold producer (I don't have a high enough Fairytale) and I wanted to see if I could keep the pink/yellow/champion theme going! LOL

There seems to be a delay in updating the display on the main screen, but if you click into the event screen, it has the correct total.

Suffered my first losses this tournament against Opal (Rd 19). Diamond was finally victorious. I gave Fire a whirl based on others' wins, but I didn't expect a victory and I didn't get one! LOL

Six losses so far to Prize Fighter! Getting really frustrated by how difficult it's been for me to beat champs in tourneys lately. I never used to have this problem, so I don't know what's changed.

I guess I'll just keep throwing random dragons at them (nothing others win with seems to work for me) and hope for the best...

I decided to take the risk and feed my level 10 dragon up to 15 to see if it helped. It did!!! He whipped Prize Fighter's butt, taking him down in two hits! I'm so thrilled right now ;) Can't wait to try him out on the other champs to come!

Maybe the difficulty I've been having is because I've become too complacent, not feeding my dragons any more than I have to. I guess it's the game's way of giving me a kick up the butt so I don't keep neglecting my poor dragon friends!

With champs, if you don't have diamonds or champs, maybe passion or love letter from Valentine's Day? I always go Diamond, then Metal, which is another thing to try. You basically need to keep on hammering them with what you have. Some folks use babies and have success. Use what feels right for you.

Came to add that I have been using Valiant where he's been recommended, and at level 9, he's been kicking some butt this tourney.

Well, Warrior King is being rather obstructive, isn't he? Ms Diamond nearly had him twice, just not enough umph. Doesn't seem right to throw Warrior Prince at Warrior King, does it?

I've tried the usual champ ****ers Banshee and Maple. Time to start working down from the top......or up from the bottom.

My level 10 Banshee took down prize fighter with MBB. Metal 10 lost

Skysurfer 12 was defeated by my newly evolved level 10 Penumbra dragon with BMB. That was its first battle lol. This round was giving me trouble.... hopefully penumbra can win other battles I put it in.

EDIT: After trying all afternoon & evening/night I finally beat warrior king this morning with 3 magics from Banshee

This tournament is going somewhat smoothly I guess. I lost the first round 1 time, the swan round like 5 times, and maybe once or twice on some of the other rounds that supposed to be "easier". I usually sail through the first 14 rounds with ease so I don't know what's going on. I hope I get this prize dragon. It looks quite nice.

Surprise, surprise I get stuck on level 20 against a champion. This is the third day of fighting WK. My level 15 Diamond, Battlesteed, Fire not luck after repeated turns, Surprise not luck, Air, Water etc in the healing line. I even tried tickling with many squashed babies.
I am not going to try every hour now, maybe every two to stop all my dragons ending up here. I will be travelling I the next three days as well so limited access as well.
I wonder if I will succeed, if not oh well them is the breaks.:(

I so feel your pain as I have faced this in too many tournaments as well, including this one with over 30 and still going defeats against Warrior King.:mad:
I have not had any luck in following other player's winning combination so I say keep fighting and healing and that it is only a game.....:(

Ok, I've been battling warrior king for about 36 hours now. I'll give metal a try, although mine is not epic. If that doesn't work, I don't know what to try. I have never used Ultimate, does it guarantee a win? Not sure I'm willing to give it a go when I still have spirit warrior to contend with if it's not a guarantee.

After 2.5 days, 37 losses, spending pretty much my whole stockpile of food to get Fire from 11 to 14(still didn't work,) and many, many curse words...I finally beat Prize Fighter with a level 10 Beast. Now the question is, can I catch up??

I so feel your pain as I have faced this in too many tournaments as well, including this one with over 30 and still going defeats against Warrior King.:mad:
I have not had any luck in following other player's winning combination so I say keep fighting and healing and that it is only a game.....:(

I'd force stop the game and then try a pink or one of the World Event royal dragons (Queen, Jack, King). I got Colossal with Queen 10 MBM.

I completely changed the way I battle this time, always used bmb on the dragons I fought, this time I used mmb on the normal dragons and bmm on the champions, I normally took down the champions within a couple of attempts but I must admit Spirit Warrion took about 6 attempts and it seemed to be a lvl14 Infinity was doing the takedown.
You friend need a GOLD MEDAL for your fortitude and tenacity and of course patience, I would have pressed the Ultimate button yesterday!

Thanks to those who posted about using Sultana on Spirit Warrior - it worked for me too. After six losses to this champ, I was starting to pull my hair out with frustration! You saved me from going bald ;)

A bald kitty would look very miserable....... :cool:

Grrrr...just like most others I'm having trouble getting past Rd 20 Warrior King. My poor healing spa is going to need a serious cleaning, lol. Hope I get past this in the next try or two....running out of time. Think I'll probably try fire again since it's worked for so many. Fingers crossed. I'm relieved this one is over for me (Archer took down Phase with one bash). It was a strange and frustrating tourney - I only had three losses to non-champs in total, but lost to the champs six times each! I know the champs are supposed to be tough opponents, but that's ridiculous!

I'm still not sure whether my decision to level Fire up to 15 was a good one or not - he did take down two of the champs (although took two attempts for one of them), but not the third. He also lost to a non-champ, so he seems to be a bit hit and miss! I guess I'll reserve my judgement of him for now...

I've gone through so many different dragons now on Spirit Warrior. Tried anything I saw suggested if I had it. My line for the healing springs is ridiculous. Not even sure how many losses....I don't think to keep track until after already losing several times when I wish I'd kept track. Used gold to try again a few times, then stopped because I was just wasting gold. I think this level was set to win solely on luck and has nothing to do with the opponent you use against him. To have a chance at finishing on time I really can't lose against any other opponents....If I can get past this guy. I am willing to try a couple more times and if I can move on I'll spend gold to finish a couple of rounds if I have to...not on ultimates, just to go to next round right away. But I'm not going to spend a lot. I really like this dragon but I'm still at a point where I don't win a lot of tournaments so I go in hoping, but not expecting, to win. Usually I have several opponents I have to battle several times and I run out of time. This time I was sailing through relatively easily until this guy. Ah well...not totally giving up yet. Good luck to everyone still working on it!!

I won my first tournament! I didn't record it here because I had zero faith that I would finish. I was just going along for the globes. Usually I stall out when I get to the champions, but amazingly both were two hit KOs. The only trouble I had was Tusker which my Diamond(15) took down on the second try after Air(14) failed. Then Carousel who again my Diamond dropped after Ballet(9) and Virtue(11) couldn't.

I didn't stick to the basics (Fire/Air/Forest) this time. I followed [REDACTED] and made the best of what I had. My Diamond and Fire are the only 15s I have and Fire was busy on quests the whole time.

This may the wrong place to ask but for the future... what dragons should I focus on raising up to 15? I was thinking Air definitely, but after that maybe Godmother (don't have Aether) and Night Elf?

Note to self: use your brain Monica. Spending 4 gold to try a round again is fine once or twice. Doing it several times is dumb because you've now spent just as much as it would have cost to just use ultimate and move on. Ultimate is not as high a price in the end as it seems to be when you consider everything. Even using it a couple of times in a tournament is worth it if you really like the dragon enough. And can afford to do so at the time. :p

Now here's hoping I can finish the rest without too much trouble or I wasted gold for nothing,

Edit: And Surprise kicked Warrior King's butt before I needed to use ultimate. What a nice surprise!! :D

Finished the tournament, had to ultimate both Warrior King and Spirit Warrior. Usually I don't care about the tournaments unless they are champions, but I love the look of this dragon. Figured 60 gold was worth it.

The second half of this tournament has been a huge pain in the ***. Everything that's suppose to work is failing. I have a lot of dragons to heal and still have no idea if I can finish. Have 4 dragons left and Carousel is not fighting fair. This has been the hardest tourney I've participated in.

Lost to Night Imp a few times and it set me far behind now. Still 9 opponents and only 5 hours left. I throw in the towel. Still battling for the globes. Who knows, if the next 4 go down quickly I might consider speeding through battles to finish.

I didn't make it. :-( Wasted two days battling opponent #20 - finally beat it with a level 3 Diamond (even though I used a level 15 Infinity on it over a dozen times - not to mention a whole host of other dragons) and the last day went towards battling opponent #25. Frustrated that I couldn't complete the event, even though I put in serious effort. Sigh.

Congrats to those who won the amazing Phase Dragon!

I struggled with those 2 dragons too. I was stuck on Level 20 for a day and a half. I ended up ultimating. Same thing happened with 25, I was stuck for a day before i ultimated him. I wouldn't have finished otherwise :(

I was stuck on the Warrior King for around three days. Once I defeated him, with a Diamond Level 15 on the sixth attempt, I defeated the others relatively easily, lost a couple of battles but that was to be expected. When I got to the Spirit Warrior I thought "Here it goes again" as I was stuck with him last tournament for three days but I got him on the first go with my 15 Fire Dragon. I completed the 20 - 30 battles in half a day with about a day and a half left in the tournament.
