I've used the bead steed quite a bit as well. Have you tried Hooded Robin? I've found him to be very good in tournaments. Very deadly with that bow and arrow.

I find Hooded Robin great too, lots of critical hits and I love watching him shoot his arrows! My Bead Steed goes all glitchy when it attacks, it literally falls into a scramble of pieces, very amusing to watch :D

I would suggest to level up your Lightning Leopard to level 15 if you have it and to use it. That's what I did when I did not have any other animals with this element. Finished off the tournament this morning when my Obsidian Cyclops took down the Boom Bear on the second try. Finished with a 30-24 record which is about average for my troops and a lot better than the 41 losses in the Orca Snail tournament. See post #2 for details.

Worst rounds were 3 losses in rounds 18 and 28. I had a lot more multiple loss rounds than usual but thankfully, never was hung up on any one round for too long.

Finished the tournament. The first 29 rounds went relatively smooth. None took more than 3 attempts. Then round 30 took 8 tries. Overall not a terribly hard tournament.

Lost for at least the 9th time on Winter Wolverine. Tried Unicorn, Peony Pony, Barn Owl, Storm Sphinx, multiples of Barn Owl & Pony. All lvl 15. Very frustrating, Barn Owl is my usual choice for water-nature.

Notice that S8 must have a sense of humor, did my last battle, found a 'building fence' around the tournament arena. My son said, don't forget it's 1st April in USA!

Well that's just not right. It clearly says for tournament battles. Not our fault they didn't start at the same time.

Just had a crazy battle glitch. Got a critical against the opponent with my second shot and then their second shot ****ed my glacial griffin! Closed out of the arena and was able to battle again, but my griffin was healing. Luckily I got another critical hit with Iciclaw and won that time. Darn skull animals....they don't fight fair!

There are different ways of looking at it. Many players have finished the tournament, so they would not have a chance to win any tokens anyway and players who have not done as well in the tournament would get extra rewards for their battles, if they started giving out tokens midway through the tournament.

This is the same thing that happened with the last World Event and then a new 18 round tournament started the following Tuesday, so we ended up with 30-round tournaments in consecutive weeks.

Boom Bear is safely in storage awaiting his turn on the busy nest. Goldscale showed him who was boss in the second round of battle!
It was a fun tourney and didn't pose too many problems for me. Good luck to those still playing and a big WTG to those who have just added the "booming" bear to their forest! :)
