Skylord Leaders Event March 29 2016

All in all I think this is a fun addition to DS but I think some things need to be changed:

1). Players in 1st, 2nd and 3rd place should get the Skylord dragon.

2) The cost of the Skylord event seems ridiculously high and I am not adverse to buying substantial gold to play this game. The top player in my group was 23,000 points. That as you can imagine took a considerable amount of gold.

3). Please do not put our Storm8IDs on the leader board. Instead please put our island name. Actually I wish the Forum also used our island ID and not our Storm8ID as well.

Thanks to TL for coming up with this new & fun way to play the game. Way more fun than any other event types so far.

Agree with you Deb. Especially with your #1 comment. I ended up 2nd at 4,643 points, but I had to fight for it really hard!! Third place player was only behind me by a little less than 200 pts and I though I am happy to have overtaken 2nd and gotten the skylord, I wish the third place player got to have one, too. (Then I wouldn't have had to fight so hard for 2nd lol... As I was happy in 3rd, but the prizes were lame)

Each spot with a trophy (1st, 2nd, & 3rd) should get to have the prize when they do this event again, IMO. ;)

I have totall 2021, no golds spend, forget to collect quest an spin wheel sometimes.
But... I cant see my prize!! They said Results an nothing else happens! Where is my Skylord? My only one I could get from this event???

Congratulations on your dragon, but that is why I didn't like the event in first place. The unfairness. Some people spent a lot of gold and ended up in third place, some others got a better board and won the Skylord without spending any gold and even without putting much effort.

I didn't think I'd get Skylord (and I didn't, came in 3rd) but I still boosted at the last minute in the hopes of getting to Galaxy. But I only had the gold from watching ads and it wasn't quite enough. I stopped buying gold after one too many mishaps with the finish food button being exactly where the plant food button is, my small hands not being able to lock the screen on my plus without accidentally turning down the volume so I just let it time out lock but that's led to accidental food purchases, and one time there was a slow to update "Free" Boosted Breed button in the arctic isles.

There were just SO many ways to use gold for this event versus others. Buying ultra/super rare eggs, boosted breeding, speeding up breeding and hatching, that fountain, the TWO event boosts, speeding up quests... I'm probably forgetting one. In the other regular events I can think of 3 MAYBE 4 instances where you could use gold. I don't care how much gold anyone uses to play how they like. But there is literally no competition when you put those players against the rest of the player base. It's just not fun when you know from the start that you have no chance.

Well my main dragon did not get to play the first few days, finally got to play and ended up in 9th with nothing to show for it. First place had over 20,000. My low level game which I only have because I couldn't figure out how to get my other game on my ipad so it isn't used for much of anything ended up with 1610 pts and surprisingly won.

Sorry but I was very disappointed with this event. It was set up from the get go that the only way to win all the prizes was to spend gold! At least with other events Tournaments, world events, stories you at least have a good shot of completing and getting all the prizes with out spending any gold. With this one there was NO way you could without spending some gold or being extremely lucky on breeding or wheel. Sorry but not all of us have the money to spend.

The winner in my group had over 25000 points... I made it to #12 :)
The best thing about this event: I found a nice new neighbor and goldswapping buddy! Yay!
It's a really good thing that S8 tries different events, even if it isn't everybody's favorite ( to put it mildly ) To me it sends the signal that they really care about the game and want to keep it interesting after 4 years. I've played 1 year, daily. Never been so captivated by a game :)

Yeah I understand they need to make money but at least with the other events if you cant afford to fork out money you still at least have a shot at winning all the prizes.

Came in 7th with shy of 4K points. Didn't spend any gold, but always had the nests going plus Arctic isles. I'm happy that I got to Galaxy, but considering how different the groups ended up performing I can't say I care at all for the event. It just takes the fun out of the game for me.

I had bought a diamond temple on Friday. I was hoping to breed the 3 diamond hybrids I was missing, and also to at least fail with rare or super rare dragons for event points. I ended up only able to breed commons this entire weekend. I feel as if a handicap tag was put on my account to balance the odds. (Because of the late start I was the highest level at 150. The lowest level was at level 19. Incredibly lopsided)

My goal for the event was to get Pinata which I just barely managed. Even so, I still managed to come in first and there were only 2 other players who were fairly active. They managed to tie for second, so I hope they both got Skylord.

I would have loved to have gotten Galaxy and Tanuki, but that would have required way too much gold. I have one den, 2 nests, 3 gold producing dragons, no arctic isles. I spent less than 10 gold speeding up breeding before going to bed since I am trying to get Carnival and keep getting Mist failures. Not sure how I could have done any better without spending a ton of gold. I kept my nests full with dragons from storage and/or air. I did the one hour quest throughout the day. And even spun the wheel when my baby woke me up during the middle of the night!

Well I ended up in 5th place but did complete all the Milestones and really love the extra food!
I did feel for players above me, a last minute player came in at the last minute of the game and took 1st place and knocked everyone down one rank!

Actually I like this event the only thing I don't like is only top 2 player get the dragon prize which is normally all of us get the dragon if we all participate.

I felt sorry for the other players because everyone want a new dragon right. Especially the other group who's top 2 players is above 20k.

I don't mind competing with other players but everyone should deserve the same dragon and the make different with the prize for food, maps and etc...

Not to mentioned its 4 year birthday celebration of dragon story!!!

I've just sent a support ticket, but I know that players are also asked to report it here, so I'd really appreciate it if one of the mods could please look into it for me. My group ended at 14k+ for the winner and about 12k for 2nd. The rest of us used very little gold and put up some solid scores ending up with a handful getting Galaxy and then leveling out. I feel bad for everyone as I was in a group with people who clearly put effort into this game and would have easily challenged for the prize if it was a level playing field. Exchanged friendly wall messages with a few as well. The leaders sped bred a couple of times on boosts basically burning 4 digit gold sums. I came in 3rd solely from using 2 boosts early in the event on stacked Crusader breeds/eggs. No fountain, roost, extra nest.

I don't like this type of event for sure. There shouldn't be bidding wars like this in this game. A couple of us ended up with antagonizing and unfriendly comments on our walls from the leaders too which is a shame.

The trophy is also super small. It's a one tile decoration so for something most people have to work hard for it's a little bit underwhelming. I was expecting it to be this huge monument... or maybe the first prize one is biggger. I only got the second prize.

Thank you :-) but I think this game is more about luck than fair. I played more than 3 years an jst manage to get my first Diamond when I'm over lv 147, even though tried thousand times. But some nbrs jst start an get quickly in early level.
In my board, seems most of android users, that's nice for me :-) I'm android. An everyone has not so different lv, seems not so active, dont spend golds the same, no boost, no double dens, no gold dragons.
If they put me with another who use ios with artic isle den, an ton of gold dragons, then I'm sure I'm out of board.

Also while there are people out there using exploits, I think the crazy number of pure diamond eggs seen on the leader on my board may have been a boost in percentages. I got an Arctic Isle diamond type late that Id been trying for a year to get. If they boosted super/ultra rare breed percentages it would have been cool for that to have been more publicized. They'd probably have made a lot more $$$!!

Best thing about this event was this forum, being pretty much house bound since I can't drive with my broken foot and I know there are others that DS is major part of their day, I guess S8 delivered some entertainment value, but I have to wonder if it was worth the lost customers. It's pretty much a given that S8 cares about the cash these events bring in, but what about the people who do/did buy gold who perhaps are so turned off by this money grab that they'll quit.

Yea, my case was quest points that would show when i got them and not be there when i logged back in. First few times, I was irritated, but after at least 6 instances, I put in a ticket, because I knew I needed the quests to reach galaxy.

Now, though, I lost second place by 21 points...and 4 of the quest point sets I lost were for the 6 hour...that REALLY stings, lol. Toward then end, I actually sort of hoped I'd win, even though i wasn't really trying to, since I had been in first for so long...I knew they would take forever to get back to me, and sure enough, nothing yet. :(

They should ditch this gold war leaderboard idea but they probably won't due to how much money was made.

They could easily have a great event similar to this where you get an "event roost" or something that you can breed on x times a day using specific temporary event dragons that everyone gets... assign point values to the resulting dragons bred for the leaderboard or something along those lines. Maybe they could limit the dragons that can be bred and let us actually keep the bred dragons as a bonus if you breed x number of the same dragon. Could have the outcome of the breed be different level dragons and not just babies (sorry momma dragon) for more point distribution. Endless possibilities. Wishful thinking eh? Unfortunately we'll never see anything that rewards the player for just playing and being loyal unless there is a gold buying incentive attached. If it didn't happen for an anniversary "bash" it will never happen.

While they are counting their money, I'd imagine there are a group of people who are turned off enough that they may never play again due to missing the top 2 with 5-digit scores and enormous sums of gold spent. Maybe not.... certain types they are targeting with this event probably would just come back for more.

I got in 14th place with 2420 points. The first place person got 11,000 something points (I assumed they used gold to get that many). I don't like how the 1st and 2nd place winners are soo far ahead in points compared to the others that it seems impossible to catch up to them or win without spending gold. It seems unfair and I don't like it.

I wasn't saying I bought and spent a bunch of gold trying to win... I spent gold I had, which wasn't much as I only had 60 bars, and now I have none. I spent the precious few bars I had because I wanted the galaxy dragon and I figured 60 gold is a pretty good bargain for a super rare dragon. It wasn't till I got close to earning the last milestone that I realized I wasn't receiving the points I thought I should have and I rechecked the information. When I thought about it I realized the points had been in error the whole time. While I was very annoyed that I spent my gold for nothing... I figured it must have been an error in the game and effected everyone the same. Although I now think even if everyone had the error, it wouldn't effect everyone the same as some focused on breeding and hatching while others may have tackled it from other directions such as keeping nests full and hatching eggs from any source available (crafting, purchase, etc). I was just wondering if every had the same issue... I feel we should all receive the galaxy dragon - or the next milestone each user missed, to compensate for their error. They based the points for milestones off their setup of earning potential, since they failed to deliver points as specified we should be compensated in some way.

On my second account (L49) which I play little....I won the grand prize with 800 points! Nobody could do much with limitations of low level space and what not. Spent more time with my main account and finished third, no Galaxy...no winning dragon. The inequity of it all!

And I have a bad feeling stuff from this will spread to other events they do...I'm not leaving right away, and there's lots of things I do love about the game. But that competition? Added a bunch of[] I stopped playing MMO's over....

I spent all of 17 gold to speed hatching when breeding finished before an egg was hatched since I don't yet have a second nest.

The player who came in 2nd and I spent the last 4 days switching places back and forth. I managed to squeeze out ahead this morning and got 1st place with a 105 point cushion. My final total was 2083.

If an event like this happens again, I will be happy with whatever place I get. I would have been happy with 3rd, getting 25,000 food and 20 maps. I need both. The Dragon is cool, my first mythic. Waiting to buy a habitat to bring skylord out to of storage.

Here's hoping everyone has better luck with whatever type of event comes next!

Did anyone else notice that we weren't being rewarded points as stated in the leaderboard info? The info said +3 points per hatching hour (the same for breeding hours) plus bonus points for hatching rare, super rare, & ultra rare dragons. However, at least for me, I only received the bonus points for hatching- not the +3/hr of hatching time. I received the +3/he of breeding time just not the hatching time. I'm pretty annoyed as I spent gold thinking I was doing so to get way more points than the piddly few that I ended up receiving. I would've easily earned the last milestone reward if I received the points I should have and probably would've changed my placing in the final results.

Did anyone else notice this problem?

I had a feeling something was happening. I would just gance at my numbers before collecting and they didn't seem to add up like they should have just chalked up to maybe I didn't see numbers right. I would have kept a running total but I shouldn't have that is just way too much work to play a game. They should just be honest in counting.

Even with spending some gold you didn't get enough to get all prizes. The only way to get them was to spend lots of gold. At least with other events you had a shot at getting all the prizes without spending gold Not This one. Was designed as a gold/money grabbing event.

Thank you :-) but I think this game is more about luck than fair. I played more than 3 years an jst manage to get my first Diamond when I'm over lv 147, even though tried thousand times. But some nbrs jst start an get quickly in early level.
In my board, seems most of android users, that's nice for me :-) I'm android. An everyone has not so different lv, seems not so active, dont spend golds the same, no boost, no double dens, no gold dragons.
If they put me with another who use ios with artic isle den, an ton of gold dragons, then I'm sure I'm out of board.

You are right. That is also bad luck. Same happened to me with the diamond dragons on arctic islands. Over 2 years trying and then last week, during the tournament, I got, not one, but two icicle dragons.

I am competitive but only with myself - the idea of competing against follow players is just so opposite of what I liked about DS. Unless you are completely changing the nature of the game for a strategic reason, please bury this concept so deep that it will never even have the chance of being resurrected! Bring back the community events - I want everyone to win the prizes not just a chosen few. It is a social game not a combative one! Thank you.:o

This was honestly the most silly Event ever you only get with people in the group who got similar levels and all I dont care people are under 1400 points.Sorry but this us stupid to say 1232 players can win two dragons when using better boosting in the last 3 seconds which is more than unfair and stupid.I dont say anything against 5 player groups where all win a dragon in 5 different colours,but this is an evil trick to get more money from players.It is also not fair that all have 10 fields of gold making dragons so dont repeat this event.

Hatch your new dragon and enjoy him/her , you won and won fair in your grouping ........ The unbalanced grouping is NOT your fault it was the way the TL put them together ..... I have two dragons I did not have and that ok so remember yours was fairly won and enjoy :)

I think if you played the game TL wanted you to play and you won or came in 2nd then you did win fairly. I have heard about *****s, exploits, and other things but I have no knowledge of what that really means. The bugs and malfunctions are another story. I am still waiting too hear from Support. lol

I was lucky and in a seemingly rare fair group. I came second with a total total of 1533 - yep that's all, 1st place won with 1690. I sped a couple of breeds and the end of a few 1hr quests maybe 15gold spent all up - and I'm level 166. I have 2 nests, none of the top 3 or 4.in my group had gold producing dragons, or the fountain and obviously spend only the few gold we gifted a day. No one used a boost at all and the scores changed by 10 points only in the last hour. Our comp I believe played the way it was intended, there was NO chance of ever getting enough points to get the milestone dragons, really none.
I don't expect to be so lucky next time round but it won't change my game play. I'll put out my trophy and hatch my dragon as I know my comp was fair and so I can be proud of it.

You ended second with that amount and I came fourteenth place with 2,192 (when I should had 2,202, but don't care). The player on first place ended with 5,605 and second place with 4,515. I didn't spent any gold but both this players used the gold boost when the event was almost ending.

My group was a group of 18 players and not 20, don't understand this, last place had around 1,000, between 7 and 17 with around 2,000, 4 to 6 with around 3,000 and 3 with around 3,000.


I just hate this new feature that TL created, there are players that will pay to win and others don't, mixing them together doesn't make any sense. Just mix the community for the World Event, we prefer that feature and helping each others is what we do more (I say what I saw the most about the feedback from this feature). We need a community together and not a community trying to destroy each other.

I'm not complaining about my 7th place food and coins prize (I do appreciate the bonus), but the fact that I could have (and SHOULD HAVE) done better and it seems like S8 might not care that people are upset and feeling like the game isn't fair, doesn't make feel too good about playing it.

The final prize should be a bonus, like 50k food, or some gold, not a dragon you will be ashamed to hatch. Getting dragons should be a result of your OWN merrits, not the merrits (or lack there of) of fellow players.

If you're lucky, you're teamed with players that are mostly inactive. If you're unlucky, you're teamed with players who spent (by legal or illegal means) thousands of real money on this event. Nothing you can do about that.

If I wanted to gamble, I would go to a casino, or play slots. If I wanted to battle my neighbours, I'd be playing Kingdom Clash. But I choose to play Dragon Story: a community game. No more.

Exactly my fear... I was in a pretty good group, too. Started at 5th place or so and there was a lot of jockeying about the first few days, and then I made it to third and watched the first and second players switch back and forth. I threw my cards in, used a wee bit more gold then I usually do to speed up the last couple hours or so to get my breeding den moving again, and made it to first place. Then someone low on the board rocketed upwards the last few days and took first, knocking second down to third. And that's how it ended, placement wise. First had well over 5k, I had under that at almost 5k, and next in line was under 3k.

I was so relieved that the event was over!! I can't stand how much stress it gave me. I was afraid to put my beautiful skylord out to hatch until I saw this message and decided to look at it differently. It was an achievement, a stressful one and I rarely win when I have to compete at something, and I really hope not to see another player versus player competition like this again. Loved the milestones but fighting to win a coveted dragon is not why I play DS. It is why I don't play any app or mmos that force me to compete against players. It causes too many bad feelings.

I DID appreciate having time to work on breeding dragons and raising levels without worrying too much about saving food (yuck), and I bred and earned a bunch of new dragons, which was awesome. But my favorite event in this game, hands down, is the community one where you have personal and community goals. Now that represents the spirit of the game I most appreciate!! =D

Came in 7th with shy of 4K points. Didn't spend any gold, but always had the nests going plus Arctic isles. I'm happy that I got to Galaxy, but considering how different the groups ended up performing I can't say I care at all for the event. It just takes the fun out of the game for me.

I was very fortunate enough to be in a very evenly matched group. None of us reached the 3900 needed for the 3rd dragon. The fact we didn't have anyone slam the gold makes me very proud. I got lucky & hit 2nd place. I still don't like this type of format & hope before they try it again, they'll put more thought into it. Personally, I think points should be awarded for visiting since it's supposed to be a community game. Not sure if that was mentioned in previous posts..not enough time to read the now over 100 pages to this thread. I do think Kooky & the others that tried to keep the peace deserve a big thank you! They were in a tough spot :-/

From the beginning, I envisioned this as 2 games in 1. There was a definite Pay 2 Win option as well as a variant of a World Event where you had to opportunity to win 3 dragons (admittedly, previously released). I wasn't about to get into a spending war so I looked it as more of a laid back World Event. I could see where by my normal style of play, the first dragon milestone was achievable (Pinata). I was right. Both accounts earned enough points for that dragon by early Day 5. Tanuki was potentially within reach. Galaxy was out of reach unless I changed how I play. I ended up spending a little under 30 gold on one account and a little over 30 gold on the other account to get Tanuki for my collection. I already had Pinata. Not bad as that is basically the same as one Ultimate in a tournament to get a new dragon. It helped thinking of this as a different type of World Event and not stressing out over the Leaderboard aspect. The interesting thing was that the accounts were about 50 points apart, yet one came in 3rd and the other came in 9th. We collected our apples. I didn't see any real crazy behavior on the people in the different groups.

I can't wait till they do it again, maybe this will be a weekly thing? i think they should give us another shot at the same grand prize, maybe then the others that already won it will drop off. None of the dragons were any i had. So i was motivated..

Yesterday, told my son to check his Island to see if he had event. (He rarely plays, maybe during Dragon Tales - gets 1st dragon and he's done.) He hatched a dragon from the nest (that's been there awhile), moved one from den to nest, started long quest and spun the wheel. Did the same today and won 2nd place with about 250 points. 30 minutes of gameplay tops. I had almost 4,000 and placed 6th. I feel bad for those that spent hundreds of dollars in gold to get left out. I'm happy for all who got the dragon, I don't begrudge them their prize, this event just doesn't fit here. Love the Tales, Events, Tournaments and don't mind the Spin Wheel. These Leaderboard events just take this game into a direction away from playing with neighbors in whatever manner works best for each individual player and pits the ones with gold/money against the ones that don't. Or in my sons case, an occasional player got lucky because I was able tell him to play yesterday. Go check out the graveyard that used to be the Kingdom Clash forum to see where leaderboard events will eventually take you - hackers, animosity and a dead game.

I'm still trying to figure out how someone with no gold dragons, one nest, one den plus Arctic Isles got lumped in with people that had 11 gold dragons, 3 nests, 2 dens (both dens were active) plus Arctic Isles... And no, I'm neither of the people described... How can this be even close to fair? There was also a guy with 1 nest and 1 den, no gold dragons and no travel tab smh.

I didn't boost and still managed to obtain the coveted super special Bronze trophy that I have hidden in front of my dragon crypt :)

I guess its random based on your level, all my co-players were above level 120, that might be as fair as it gets. At least you can win some food and dragons even if you don't get the grand prize. If I had spent some money I could have got the grand prize. This actually made me visit neighbors which I don't normally do, the winner in mine had over 5000 points.

I think it was based on your level. I checked everybody's island in my group and we were all right around level 30-35. No artic isles, no second nest, etc. I finished in first with a little over 3,000 points, second was around 2900 and third was 2800 or so.

I guess its random based on your level, all my co-players were above level 120, that might be as fair as it gets. At least you can win some food and dragons even if you don't get the grand prize. If I had spent some money I could have got the grand prize. This actually made me visit neighbors which I don't normally do, the winner in mine had over 5000 points.

As much as I disliked this game, and vowed not to take part, I did use the 7 gold boost a couple of times. I was in the top 3 of our group most of the time. I just want to acknowledge the kindness of the person I mentioned previously who has 4 nests and 11 (not 12, as I thought) gold dragons. I wish I could name her, but I hope she reads this and recognises herself. After I told her there wouldn't be a gold war as I was going to bed and wouldn't wake till after the end, she put a message on my wall the night before the end to tell me what she had left to collect, and that she wouldn't be gathering points after that so I could still get the dragon. That enabled me to work out that one more super rare dragon collection and six hour quest would beat her.

So, as critical as I have been of this event, I just want to acknowledge "Ms X" who used it as chance to do a kind deed. Thank you.

That's awesome. I had a similar situation on my board but without formal communication though we did friend one another. In the beginning about 6 of us were exchanging positions. Then it seemed the top 3 of us. I was playing regularly. I got Pi?ata, Tanuki and was unsure whether to pay for a boost and try for Galaxy which I really wanted. I did that and got Galaxy, spent a little to speed to get her during the boost. I ended up with 4064.

The second place could have slaughtered me. He/she had 3 nests, an extra breeding roost, etc, but he/she stopped the night before at 3574 while third was 3049, fourth 2404 and going down everyone was fairly close afterward.

So, I did end up in first without doing much beyond Galaxy which I would not have got w/out some gold which is ok.

So, thank you second place person!

Now, on my iPhone, secondary island, it was not like this. If I ever was in first, 3 or 4 would get back to the top. At that point, I decided the most I would try for was Galaxy and that was it. Person X was always boosting to get back to first which is ok. Person Y too. I ended up in third with Y, X, me. In the last minutes person Z came up from playing possum and knocked X who was fighting all the way to 3rd without the dragon and took first. Now, that is the opposite situation to my iPad.

I do not like this event. I missed mining from moving eggs, tossed out dragons, not sure where the new ones landed. I hated the competitive atmosphere in general and how upset people rightfully got. I hated seeing all the inequity and as I mentioned early on how it was not based on s**** or brains. That's not why I play this. I like being part of a fun helpful community and the events that don't jeopardize others' joy by what we do.

At the start, I bred Moon and he's the cutest ever at level 3, so that does make me happy. Probably a few others, I'm too tired to remember.

My leaderboard varied from ca 120 to 198.(majority over 150). I started at 138 (leveled up during game). My luck in breeding is such that I had to use some gold to get Galaxy. Also used some to upgrade things in Arctic Isles, which I was planning on doing anyway. Luckily I was in a fair, laid back group and ended up with Skylord ( and I don't even like those snakey looking dragons that much) with 4334.
I will display it, not really "proudly", but just because it is a dragon I did not have before and I worked hard for it. I did manage to breed a March Mayhem with all those breeding endeavors. Not really on the top of my list, but hey, I'll take it.

S8: this was NOT FUN. As others have also mentioned, if I wanted to battle other players, there are many other alternatives out there. I do not play any of them. Tried some, do not like that concept, uninstalled them without spending any money on them. My 0.02 $.

I didn't get galaxy either but I'm not upset. I really wanted tanuki (he is always tough to beat during tournaments). I also came second in the event so skylord is on my nest!
However, I did breed 3 new dragongs during this event: beaded, fortune teller and regrowth. Last week i got i got daisy as a fail (but I already have it). I also had the other 2 featured dragons from before (carnival and clown) so i didn't have to stress over them.
And for the first time i finished a short tournament early without using gold

Tanuki was my initial target as it was
within reach with some gold boost.When I got Tanuki I was in the top 3 but Galaxy was just out of reach even with 2x boost. A few fortunate Spins later, Galaxy was just reacheable so I went for it. In the end I got all the milestones dragons & Skylord with a score of 3929. Used 108 golds for the 4 dragons so this event gave pretty good returns for me. Lost a few nights of good sleep.
I do not have any gold producing dragons & golds were earned & gifts from neighbors. I keep losing gold to goldtraps so this event was a good source of "buying" dragons at a great discount.
I think s8 should allow an opt out for those who do not want to compete in future leadership event.

i didn't know it until someone said that in forum, so i started using it.
however, points were not much but can help : eggs in arctic isles have no hatching time, so you got points only if it is rare (10 points) or super rare (20 points) or ultra rare(40) . breeding time is always 4h (or 8h for ultra rare ?)
beside hatching eggs is not the same way than regular island. (if you want to know all about arctic isles , better have a look on game guide about this : it will explain better than me :D)

I ended up 3rd in my group and wasn't even close to getting the pinata dragon. I bred and hatched steadily and spun the wheel but without being able to speed up anything I just couldn't get enough points. Not sure all the balloons I got from milestones was worth the effort.

It's kind of funny when you realise that the Sky lord dragon is actually not such a special prize. Given everyone's been put into a 20 person group and there are two winners in each group. 10% of the entire DS population of players now has a Sky Lord dragon... whether you spent gold or not, or worked hard or was just really really lucky. It's not really an achievement or a status symbol is it. Hardly worth the amounts of gold spent by some players to reach tens of thousands of points. I guess for the collectors who must have one of every dragon it is unavoidable effort.

I managed to be 1st place since the players I was competing against were playing without gold and most were slacking. I only used 21 gold for boosts and managed to top first with only 2,136 points. I guess this event really was all about luck :)29913

The grouping overall is luck really, cause you don't know who you're grouped with, and so winning this event has some luck involved

Hello All. Well after all that I actually got first place - no boosts, no mad speed breeding but yes about 50 gold spent so that I could get to bed some evenings with a fresh breed. I had about 4800 points. So now, S8 even as a winner PLEASE, PLEASE, PLEASE never run a quest like this again! I am competitive but only with myself - the idea of competing against follow players is just so opposite of what I liked about DS. Unless you are completely changing the nature of the game for a strategic reason, please bury this concept so deep that it will never even have the chance of being resurrected! Bring back the community events - I want everyone to win the prizes not just a chosen few. It is a social game not a combative one! Thank you.:o

Ps - due to all this angst caused I don't even want to hatch my first prize dragon - it's like a badge of shame as people will think I was one of those extreme players that spent a fortune on it.

I've actually stopped playing the tournaments in over a year, because I already have more than enough Champions than I can count.

Anyways, it seems TL notices that some players don't participate much in tournaments and decided to make this new competitive event and it was a success, tons of people with high points.

In the game rules they tell us not to give out our IDs. So it must be important somewhere along the line. I never give out my ID so now I know that the neighbor invites I got were from either the players in my group(which one was because I visited his Island when the event started) or from here because I posted during the event. The one from my group I accepted the ones from here I declined.

I am beginning to have a bit of a different take on this event and no longer as upset as I was. For most of the event I was running second to a leader who was in the 15000 range. I looked at the island at one point and noticed two fountains but noting unusual other than a lot of older dragons. So for someone at my level they play a much different style and did not have the same dragons I do. They seemed to acquire many as I noted a lot of habitats were being built. I doubted this would happen with me but I was wrong. So far in the last two days I have accumulated dragons worth over 8000 gold using the speed breeding. These are all new dragons with the exception of one diamond. I managed to get all the new featured dragons including carnival, regrow th, mischief as well as others that were new to me including moss rock, turquoise, various rainbows etc. All I really have left for breeding at this point from the regular catalog is two tropical storm, one Dino, one stone and three diamond types. So even if I don't win sky lord I feel I have reached a lot of goals and I am satisfied with my progress even tho it was a bit pricey. It's not the normal way I would do things but sometimes you need a change. So let's not be too down on the people who are paying. They may be like me and actually see value. One person said to me that the event cannot work in its current structure but I do disagree. Storm 8 would not be foolish enough to do an event that could not succeed in some form and perhaps this is the hidden reward.
I too came out with 10 extra fantastic Dragons that I didn't have before with speed breeding(which I never did before) so maybe speed breeding is the way to go everyday to get Dragons that we have been trying to get normally, but never could.

It is okay to give others your storm ID. This is the only way that someone can send you an invite on your game.

I HATE this event. The top users in my group are blantant *****ers that use hacks. I'm sitting at 2,427 points and I can't even get the Tanuki or Galaxy dragons in the milestones. But you have to give your ID out or you cant have others invite you to be their neighbor. where does it say not to?

It's your choice if you want to give it out. When others ask me for it I tell them they can send me theirs if they choose to but I don't give mine out. TL advises that you don't give it out but,yes, you are right. You can't get neighbors unless you give it out. It's up to you. I came here on the forum to find neighbors. They have a thread for that purpose.

Not everybody used a boost to win the skylord. I used one boost, on the last day, so i could get the tanuki dragon. I did have to speed breed a couple of dragons on the nest, during that time. I would have liked the galaxy dragon but there was zero chance that I was going to get enough points so I did not use a second boost. Altogether, I spent about 150 gold. I dont spend gold all the time, I am saving up for a moon dragon. I constantly try for it with Light & Dark but always get something else.

It takes forever to get the maps and with all these fairy tales, I never have enough food to raise up the dragons that I want. I especially liked adding a few more active neighbors. While i have many, most are not active. This might help with the mystic map problem. :)

You would have been in 4th or 5th place on my leaderboard, I'm happy with winning 3 dragons although I already had Pinata.

It's your choice if you want to give it out. When others ask me for it I tell them they can send me theirs if they choose to but I don't give mine out. TL advises that you don't give it out but,yes, you are right. You can't get neighbors unless you give it out. It's up to you. I came here on the forum to find neighbors. They have a thread for that purpose.

My ID is the name I use in this forum, and I believe that this is the default option for everybody, and it cannot be changed.

Now you can have other devices and create another account just to have a different ID to log into the forum, but I think that is too much paranoia.

My group had reasonable numbers. I came in 7th. I liked the apples as a prize. Could have pushed to be in the 4-6th range, but the increase in prize was not worth the expenditure.

For the milestones, I received balloons once, coins twice, and maybe some points once. Everyone should have the same milestones.

Of my spin to wins, I received purple tiles at least twice a day, coins at least once a day, and sometimes points. Once, I received apples. I don't know if they stayed or not, but it was exciting to receive something useful!

But an individual challenge would have avoided the most vocal complaints on the board.

I would be much more likely to spend gold to get to the next milestone, especially if I was close or really wanted it. Maybe next time!

I got only coins on all my treasure milestones. I dont need coins so the first few milestones were a waste.

I bred mostly commons, too but that worked out for me because lack habitat space so I just sold them.

Did anybody else win the sky lord yesterday & put it on to hatch? I did, it showed 21 hours. When I went to hatch it, it showed ANOTHER 14 hours????? That will make it 35 hours??? Of course by the time I get a response, it'll be hatched....:-/

Hello. This is my first time posting on the forum and and I'd just like to put my 2 cents in after the horror that is the Skylord Leaders Event. I may have won, but it left me feeling awful and drained. If DS continues down this route, I'm going to have to stop playing. This is it for me. First off, I'm ill, however I still go to work, so I had no choice but to spend real cash to purchase my boosts because I don't have time to wait for my dragons to hatch and breed. I did not use any hacks or *****s. It was honest to goodness real cash I spent by doing speed breeding and I constantly logged in as much as I could for the skylord fountain and the wheel. I don't have all the dragons and I only have one gold-producing dragon and several diamond dragons. I only play to get dragons I like. I happen to like the Skylord dragon, so regardless of the expenditure, I went for it. I'm posting pictures here of my final score and my skylord dragon. I had a very big lead in my group. I didn't intend for it to be that way. I did that as a precaution because to bear the disappointment of not getting the dragon after putting so much time, effort and money on it would devastate me. I had to put in a big lead because the people in my group were very competitive at first. So this is the end result. This has got to be the stupidest gimmick for DS because instead of relaxing me, this game stressed me out, big time and to top it off, I spent money that I could have spent on my medication. So if DS decides to do another event like this, no matter how awesome and beautiful the dragon is, consider me a lost customer. You can count me out. I am unhappy with what happened and I won't ever go through it again.

As an Adult, I could have made the right choice of not spending anything at all for the event, but with the time and money I've invested in this game and the initial enjoyment I felt, I went ahead and did it anyway. Just because it was my choice though, it doesn't mean that I was happy with my choice. So lesson learned, if DS decides this is their new mode of gameplay and not consider the happiness and satisfaction of its community players, watch long time players like me walk away. I'm not dropping another cent in a game that's going to make this their standard: To churn out one costly disappointment after another. I understand the game needs to earn money and I was previously ok with spending within reason, but this...was just pure greed on DS's part.

The variations are the biggest indication of an underlying issue with this event. You managed to get the dragon with just under 2,500 while others missed out sitting on 8,000 (and more).

The required level playing field just isn't there.

The coin value was not changing until the dragon evolved.

Ofcourse i understand the frustration for higher level players or those that don't have access to unlimited gold....but it is kinda nice as a low level player to win something nice. Everything else i play on dragon story is like pushing a boulder up a hill. The tourneys and tales are not much fun at all. ☺

Yes they did. I should have gotten it right after I got off work today but it still needs 4 hrs so i wont have it till tmrw night. They should have left it or, at least, left it for the ones who had them on the nest. Changing mid-hatch is messed up but definitely *not* shocking from this company.

I kind of realized it wasn't even worth trying for when two people in my group were over 10,000.

I tried at first with some speed breeding, but next time I will not participate even that far.

Now that I've finished with my rant. I would like to say hi to everyone on the forum and for those who participated in the Skylord event and made a valiant effort to get the dragon, kudos to you. For those who won the dragon, congrats and for those who didn't really like this event like I did, you have my sympathy. To DS developers, all I can say is as compensation for what you put everyone through, you should give a Thank you Dragon to everyone that was on the Leaderboard, regardless of rank and to those who already won their dragons, you don't need to give anything. Just at least something for the participants who should have enjoyed this birthday event for DS.

Also i noticed way earlier today that my Skylord egg was ready to hatch and little bit ago it actually added time to it again!
I'm not sure how much it went up to exactly or when it happened but currently is at three hours before hatching ' again '.
Very weird. Glad i don't need the egg off of the nest pronto.

I was definitely lucky on this one. My skylord is on the nest but i won't be displaying the trophy. Now I'm crossing fingers we all have a good chance of getting that champ. So exciting because it will be my first go at getting one 😁

First off let me say that I was in a good group of people. No one immediately or ever jumped out so far that someone couldn't catch them. My first and second place winners were just over 4000 points and only 26 points apart at the end and I enjoyed watching the leaderboard to see what they were all doing. On my main island I knew early on it would be close and competitive but I was not going to be winning first or even close. I was playing for 7-12th nearly whole time. (I finished 2000 points below them in 8th) I have 1 nest, 1 roost, no gold dragons or Arctic isles but some of my competitors had 2 nests, Arctic and a couple had gold dragons. I don't think anyone bought the fountain! I enjoyed getting my 15,000 apples at the end. My dragons are always hungry! I did breed some new dragons and thanks to a boost at the end got pinata! And I have enjoyed visiting my competitors isles (only 1 responded back). But that's okay. I hope we become neighbors. I play 3 islands and won first on 2 with under 2000 pts I believe, but even though I think this dragon is beautiful and I'm proud I won, I'm leery to put her out because I don't want people thinking I *****ed to get her. I spent 7 gold each island for 1 boost.
If we have this event again they could:
1: Offer Opt-out
2: Use island name and not id (people like their privacy)
3: All milestones should be the same across the board.
4: Perhaps they could have an opt-in if you want to do this type of event sign up week before and they can put you in a more balanced group of players and levels. (Tales and battle arena are optional)
5: If same dragon is award, perhaps exclude prior winners from competition. (I.e. You can only have 1) (I won skylord & I don't mind sitting out so someone else gets theirs)
6: Make the grand prize dragon not only a first place prize but turn it into a milestone as well, if you get a certain amount you automatically get the dragon. I believe Galaxy was around 3900 points so put Grand prize a little higher like 5500 or so. While no one in my group got that many points a lot of groups had multiple players over that. (This may encourage more gold spent on boosts because people would know for sure they could get the grand prize if they reached that goal instead of giving up and getting discouraged when someone jumps out to a huge un-catchable lead.)

Popped in again to see how things were going. my 1st place leader is over 40,000 and our other games have crazy high totals too. We have 5 total games in our house so I took a look at the leaders islands....here's what I found on a couple:

Oh, c'mon, in the second picture you can count 20 pure diamonds, No quetzal, not cruzaders, which are easier to breed since the fails hatch in less than a minute. They are all diamonds. And the level is 95. I did not get my first diamond until I well pass level 100. And they are two different islands. Users have posted other islands with the same pattern. Also stacking diamond habitats in that pattern. I don't. I only have five diamond islands, with 3 diamonds and 2 infinities. The rest of my diamond type dragons are on habitats that can house 3 or 4 dragons. I don't like diamond habitats because you can only house 1 dragon on each.

I revisited and figured it out when I had fully expanded my regular isle (before they opened the new land) as I was wanting something to work on.
Was surprised to see the points come when I finished breeding during the tournament. I've tried utilizing the Arctic Isles during other events (i.e.: Tales goal = breed a fire dragon, but my den is tied up breeding a virtue or some other obnoxiously long breed) but no luck. That may have been the one good thing they did in this event... By not including it in others, they are discounting any value it brings to the game.

Not if it is not available to Android. Period. It currently is not of any value to android devices because it is not available to us.
Android users are a large % of the population.. js.
