Thanks for the reply. I've been frustrated with the tournaments, especially the flash tournaments, being too hard. That last one with the Dr. Suess theme was fairly easy. It's been difficult getting dragons to level 15 and then also needing so much food to use in the dragon tales. I decided to only do this last dragon tales through day 7 where I won the 2nd dragon, and I've finally been able to get my Prime Eternal dragon to level 15. Hopefully that will win most battles.

I don't think list in this tournament is from a former tournament with the same line-up because I've never seen the same list of opponents from previous tourney, the opponents this time are totally all new, IMO, as you can see we have never had "prime dragons" as tourney's opponent before, if I could remember.

Nope. Definitely NOT an I don't care. We have 5 games in our house--levels 61-105--and the dragon levels have varied for the past 3 tournaments. I've had a 6 on one and a 9 on another. Hadn't noticed that before, but now that I'm aware, I see it pretty often. I believe I posted screen shots 'over there' when I first noticed.

Heads up folks: Barbarian had been brutal!! I lost 12 rounds to it. I have never lost so many times against a single opponent, ever. Kite (pink, yellow) saved the day at last. Nothing was touching barbarian, except yellow. So, you guys might consider using dragons that has atleast yellow. Good luck.

To beat Battlesteed (or any champ) I second the Metal idea. My level 9 Won with a bash KO. Use the rarest anything with no strengths&weaknesses (metal, egypt, soccer, olympus) or your favorite rarest dragon that is still level 3 or under. Good luck!

I didn't know what level of Knightmare did you use, but I defeat it with level 1 Knightmare with the first bash hit him critically... Based on the colour type advantage, you can see that Viking's blue colour is weak against Knightmare's purple and Viking's yellow colour is weak against Knightmare's black and pink colour. In conclusion, you should have beaten this beast easily with Knightmare as what I did. This case happened to me fairly often too in regular arena, I learnt from experiences. This seems unfair, but indeed, it happened lot of time. That's why I said randomness and probability played role here instead of colour advantage, rarity, and level. The best thing to do with the champs is grit your teeth, keep healing up your stronger dragons, and keep trying. It may take a bit, but you can do it! Did you try fire yet? Or, perhaps, a dragon that has won multiple rounds for you this tourney (for me, that'd be king, beast or black cat...my results are on page 4, I update it there).

I am stuck on the barbarian right now. Just tried fairytale, also tried diamond and prime eternal.

I beat it with Crusader after losing with Diamond. Good luck!

Fun tournament, and I appreciate that it wasn't a repeat of a lineup from a recent tournament. I've only been playing for 11 months and I was starting to think S8 was becoming lazy with tournaments if they were going to continue the trend of reusing lineups.

I know some were unhappy that I posted the dragons for this tourney from a site that can not be named, but I was just happy to see which dragons we were going to battle, guess you can't make everyone happy.

Gah! Spent the entire day on Barbarian, and I gave nothing to show,for it except a long line at the Healing Spa.

Losses: Infinity 15, Fireflower 3, Infinity 15, Loch Ness 3, Infinity 15, Infinity 15, Metal 10, Infinity 15... all lost. Will try Banshee 13, Diamond 6, Fire 1, and green/yellow combos.

*ran through a few more, but FINALLY won with Banshee 13!

In my island, Battlesteed quite week against my green colour dragon. I beat it previously with Quetzal (Diamond-Green). Yea, I agree, tales dragon are very useful in the arena, they are quite strong, many have helped me a lot and have done well so far in the arena, such as Banshee, Ghost Armor, Maple, Harvest, Zephyr, Astro, Portal, Jack, Dame of Darkness, Dark Crystal, Sorceress, but hey, I didn't know whether you realized it or not, IMO, many of the final prize dragon in tales are not as good as the first and second prize we got in tales... For instance, Ghost Armor and Banshee helped me a lot in the regular arena and tournament as well, but on the other hand, Spirit Queen often lost and she didn't win as much as Banshee and Ghost Armor, that's what I felt though... The exception is Dark Crystal, Dark Crystal is the final prize dragon and he's good in the arena/tournament. Have a great weekend too, Jen. :)

It was me (a she BTW, lol) who used Fuzzy to defeat Battlesteed. It worked very well. My hubby is stick on that one now, he doesn't have any green/white combos.

I also got stuck on Barbarian for a bit. Took 3 tries to beat him. I used my level 3 Spell Dragon. She squeaked by just barely with a hit combo of mbb.

Crusader is a Diamond-Red hybrid. You can try breeding it with Diamond and Fire with very short fails!

Heads up folks: Barbarian had been brutal!! I lost 12 rounds to it. I have never lost so many times against a single opponent, ever. Kite (pink, yellow) saved the day at last. Nothing was touching barbarian, except yellow. So, you guys might consider using dragons that has atleast yellow. Good luck.

Actually steven, the tales dragons are normally useless to me in the tournaments. I just meant, this time they were doing quite well---for this tournament. I'm very happy the past and current tales dragons have been useful to you my friend!! Don't be sorry re: your suggestion not working, seems It happens often when others suggest to help another out. The win doesn't always make sense and other times it's just perfectly clear. I'm just happy when I get through each round! I still appreciate people posting to try and help. Taking just my losses with 25% chance dragons on Barbarian there is less than a 2% chance of the loss streak happening. Add in the other 10% losses and it's much worse.

This happens every tournament and I've had the "problem" dragon be one where I've lost 15+ times with 60% win chance dragons.

Everyone's entitled to their opinion but based on the data over several tournaments and accounts that I have there is something extremely wrong going on. You can make up your mind as to what that is.

I defeated Prime Power with Knightmare 10 bashes. Stuck on Chariot though.

Try anything White Blue start with magic-bash and your third hit whichever did the most damage.
I took him down with Banshee 14(White/Blue ). Many loses to this beast, stuck for over 24 hrs. lost about 20 dragons to that monster.
Don't give up.

Barbarian I got with Dame of Darkness 12 bash, magic. Chariot I got with Beast 13 bash, magic. The first time I beat Chariot in a tournament was for the actual dragon and I used Flametail with two bashes. I would highly suggest a strong black, white, blue combo like Flametail, Archangel, or Siamese to beat him if you don't have Beast. Good luck to all who are still battling. Congrats to those who won. I'm on Taurus and will probably win the the dragon tonight.

Hey Starship...I just want to echo you about Dame of Darkness to beat Barbarian. I also used her, and she kicked butt! She's been quite a handy chick to have around!
Also, I took the advice of others on here and used Fire (15) against Colossal, and it worked (BMM)

Have you tried a high level Forest? I used it to win the Battlesteed tournament and win in this tournament. I used the bash then magic both times and beat it.

Strange enough I had trouble with Taurus of all dragons. Finally got the bull with Lvl 8 Dreamweaver with 2 bashes.

Im headed towards 20 losses on Barbarian. Im a lvl 168 player with almost always several top chance dragons against any tournament dragon. This has happened in each tournament for a long time. If this is S8/TL's way of trying to ***** players out of gold it's going to have the opposite effect.

You sound like you are reciting my life here with tournaments!! I really don't know what I'm doing wrong or different than others but I NEVER win a tournament without gold and they are never easy for me. I have 3 islands all close in lvl 140-130 so it's not like I'm just starting out and don't have much to choose from. I give up on so many tournaments because of this. I don't feel like they are worth the gold unless it's a champ but I had such a hard time with Centurion that I did give up on that one and honestly it is really taking the fun out of this game and quick!! I am stuck on Chariot with a huge line for the spa and it's just starting to get really irritating!! I know we aren't the only ones and S8/TL better realize this before they start losing all their players!! GL to you I hope you are able to finish

Whew, okay. Got Colossal in my storage (my gosh, he is one huge son of a ***! LMAO!). Took him out one shot bash with my Skeletal Knight! :D

Ok all I know this sounds crazy but I read on here in different tournaments and since what did I have to lose at this point but I used Chariot against himself and bmb later down he went lol Mine is only a lvl 9 because he is not my best fighter by any means. It does work at times! Good tip! My infinity beats infinity most of the time. Unicorn on my island does the same. Sure worth a shot when you are stuck. I'm so glad that worked out for you;)

Thank you. That's what I've been doing. I'm level 188 and have many many dragons that should be taking this turkey down. I'm guessing that S8 wanted me to pay for this dragon. I paid for the last Tales because I grew a dragon to L15 instead of the only L14 required because I didn't pay attention. That mistake cost me 175 gold. My Diamond is only L14 and I'm very low on food due to Tales. My Diamond has lost at least 10 times to Char.

I'm with you -- I wanted the Colossal, but really need to build up some gold in case a gold dragon gets introduced sometime soon, so I wouldn't ultimate or speed up, and barbarian just ****ed me. My champs, a lot of the suggestions I saw here, everything. Such is life.

Me too, I had to give up. First Battlesteed, than Barbarian and Chariot. I don't even count how many losses it was. So, sorry, no Colossal for me :( and I can not spend all time battling! I have to sleep, have some real life too :)

Sorry to hear. I have no champs so makes it even tougher. we need another tournament for a champ. the last one I lost due to my internet going out a day after starting and didn't get it back till the Mon. morning after it was over.

I recently decided to bring Immortal out of storage that I was lucky enough to win off the wheel *I usually have absolutely no luck with those * bc I was having a hard time defeating the big boy's :( He helped me immensely. Well my first post after a long time lurking;)
I will say that I eventually finished the tournament with a Colossal Dragon egg in storage. However I am not happy at all and the experience has left me wondering why I continue to play this game.
I flew through the first 19 rounds of the tournament with one loss, then I got stuck on the Barbarian dragon for four days. That is right four days I tried the recommendations in this thread, I repeatedly used my level 15 Diamond and level 13 Battlesteed dragons. I used baby dragons, suggested colours, Aladdin etc all to no avail. .:confused: Then I just kept healing my Diamond and worked my way down my high level Super Rare dragons and finally ****ed it with a Balisk dragon with 13 hours left. The continued loses was beyond a statistical anomaly and shows that this tournament was a matter of luck.
I kept playing as I just wanted to see how close I could get, as the remaining time was during work, and see if I could at least get some gold from match 25 with the Chariot. It took 5 matches before I defeated it and meant I had no chance to get to the end without using up gold. Well the next two were easy and then I had a choice, I had to pay for three matches at least to win this tournament. Do I bight the bullet as I was so close for an admittedly good looking dragon? So I said "Up to 20 gold before I call it quits" or the time will run out.
It took 16 gold to get to the final round and I had lost my Diamond and high level champions. Looking at the chart on the first post I determined the best dragon I had was the King dragon and I had 10 minutes to go.
I managed to do Bash and Magic leaving it still in amber. Do I use Ultimate or just try my luck? Another Bash I won!:D. I then went to collect coins and harvest crops only for the dreaded "Processing" Fruitful dragon running message box to appear. Then I saw the timer back and no dragon in storage :eek::mad: I used the same King dragon, used Magic, then Bash and Magic with the same results....only for the same "Processing" message. 3 minutes left and again King, Bash, Magic and Magic. This time it stuck. :o
So from this experience I believe for the 15, 20, 25 matches the are mostly luck rather than specific combinations of rarity, type and level. How else can baby Fire dragons be successful for some?
Also the results of the match are determined as soon as you chose the type you fight with regardless of your combinations. This is from my experience with the King vs Colossal being exactly replayed 3 times, which of course is not a sufficient sample size to give a robust correlation coefficient. The only thing you can influence is using the Ultimate IMO.
Anyway I will continue with the game at the moment and it will not matter to S8 as I will not pay money for Gold as there really is nothing in the game that makes me want to spend money on it.....anyway that is for another discussion I just wanted to share my experience and let off a little steam.;)

Do you have a Diamond or Champion type dragon? Try Diamond/Diamond hybrids or Champion... If you don't have, try Fire dragon or Red-Yellow/Yellow-Red hybrids, such as Maple, Firestorm, etc. Good luck, hope you beat it soon. :)
