Notes on Goal
- The Good Ol' Glimmermouth update unlocks at Level 25 on both iOS and Android

- Update is a quest chain which introduces a new set of crafts, the top of which is the new Cook With Glimmermouth recipe in the Kitchens!

- There are two ways to Go Fishin'! One with Plain Bait, and one with Super Bait. Super Bait will get you the most Glimmermouth, but Plain Bait will always get you one :)

- When you Cook With Glimmermouth, you turn one Glimmermouth into a hearty helping of multiple fish-based food products!

- There is also a new building, the Bait Market, which costs 200 gems and unlocks during the quests.

* The Bait Market will always drop one Super Bait, plus a small chance of dropping something extra.
* You do not have to purchase the Bait Market to progress the goal.
* If you buy it within 3 days of completing the quest it costs 170 gems as you get 30 gems back.

- When you craft Bait in the Magic Forge, you will either get a drop of plain bait or super bait.

Building Requirements:
Bait Market optional gem purchase resource building (Level 25+) (2x2) limit x Can/not be sold
Info: a market especially for bait. Has a higher chance to drop super bait instead of plain bait, and a small chance to drop a glimmermouth.
Collection time: 14 hours
Speed up: 28 gems
Drops: one Super Bait, plus a small chance of dropping something extra
Cost: 200 gems (+30 gems back with goal)

Goals:
A giant fish, you say? What a marvel! Catching one will require the proper equipment. First off, the bait! Perhaps you are familiar with this old adage: "Use small fish to catch a bigger one!'
1. Fish Tale
* Catch a blue fish 0/1 (fish) check mermaid ponds, ponds and rustic wells
Rewards: 1650 coin, 6 xp

Once we have prepared all the necessary equipment, we will be able to embark on our very first Royal fishing Trip! Is it not exciting, Young Ruler?
2. Old Fisherman Thomas
* Craft some bait 0/1 (go) Bring the blue fish to the magic forge
* Craft a fishing pole 0/1 (go) The workshop makes these from sugar cane
* Craft a fishing net 0/1 (go) Bring rope to the workshop to make this!

3. Good Ol' Glimmermouth

* Catch Glimmermouth 0/1 (get)
Rewards: 1650 coin, 6 xp

Completing step 3 triggers goals 4 & 5.

The Bait market will provide us with a steady source of Super Bait. If we're lucky, they may have a second bait to spare, or even the occasional Glimmermouth!
4. The Bait Market timed optional 3 day goal.
* Place a Bait Market 0/1 (get) (200 gems)
Rewards: 30 gems, 3 xp

Wow, this fish is gigantic! You got this from a nearby lake? I bet this one fish can mke us lots of meals!

I have some story line about giant fist in the lake and instructions to catch a blue fish.... Assuming this must be core story since we are in the middle of a timed event?

No timer in either goal so far
first step, catch a blue fish, check mermaid ponds, ponds and rustic wells
2nd step
craft some bait in forge
craft a fishing pole in workshop
craft a fishing net in workshop

bait - 1 blue fish, 5 piles of seed and 1000 coins, 1 hour, speed up 4 gems
fishing pole - 1 sugar cane, 3 silver and 1 living wood, 5 hours, speed up 20 gems
net - 5 rope, 5 iron ore, 3 stones, 6 hours, speed up 24 gems

I was excited about the blue fish looking like Dory until I realized we'd be making bait out of her. :(

So the fishing adventure will always be there and will the multiple fish based product be used in the future task?

PrincessCupOButter

Don't see the crafting for Super Bait.. I assume this is unlocked later?

The craft in the magic forge will drop either a plain or a super bait.

I agree. I was hoping for something completely new, but at least there are new things to craft and collect. I do hope breaded fish sandwiches are included in the drops....that's the only fish dish I really need at this point.

...and this may be a lil silly thing but... Don't we already pull a new fishing pole out of our back pocket every time we collect from a pond or well? LOL!

PS. S8 likes diff kinds of fish almost as much as they like fountains, LOL

Well here in the US we will not give in to the millimeters and the centimeters... the Dewey Decimal was enough of a fight... totally changed the way we never go to Libraries anyway.. Metric System would cause riots I am sure

indeed! :):):) SW

I see both adventures in my keep.

So 1st adventure is for one glimmermouth and the 2nd is for multiple glimmermouth...,same 4 hour timer. Is this correct???

Never mind I see 1 adventure requires regular bait and multiple fish adventure requires the super bait. It's been a long tiring day...lol.

Yahoo!!! :)

Congrats!

My fishing luck is still very poor - the blue fish don't seem to like my ponds at all. I was able to catch 3 before going to sleep last night and now I'm back to 0 after making 3 baits. Oh well! It's not a timed goal and I'm catching a good number of lucky coins from the ponds!

I've made 3 baits so far (that blue fish seems very hard to catch in my realm!) and got 2 regular baits and 1 super bait. I guess that was pretty lucky at least!

Can we get some clarification please. If we choose to not purchase the Bait Market will we still be able to collect Blue Fish and have the ability to craft Baits. Having this information will be a major determining factor if I purchase this building.

Baits are crafted, blue fishes are fished.

also a new recipe in Kitchen.. Cook with Glimmermouth

Monster fish are tough. Gotta cook 'em slowly!

Or is the Bait Market just a faster way to get needed items to perform the cooking of Glimmermouth and we still get the Blue Fish to drop in fashion they are now.

This :D The Bait Market is there to provide an extra little boost, you can still do all the Blue Fish fishin' and Bait makin' you like ^^

Also looks like the info card for the Bait Market needs to be updated - it's one guaranteed Super Bait + small chance of something else :) I'll get on that~

Congrats!

My fishing luck is still very poor - the blue fish don't seem to like my ponds at all. I was able to catch 3 before going to sleep last night and now I'm back to 0 after making 3 baits. Oh well! It's not a timed goal and I'm catching a good number of lucky coins from the ponds!

I too am not having a good fishing day. Got about 7 yesterday; today is nada.

It seems "cheaper" just to make the drops forthright. It would only be worth it if you had the bait shop, and even then it would depend on how many fish you get from the super bait to cut back on how many nets and rods you need. The fish products generally aren't that valuable anyway.

I use the various fish meals from the kitchen to make the relevant feasts / go on adventures, however I have never found it to be a problem to make enough of them - unlike for example, the ingredients of a sweet feast, which I find a complete pain to make. I am nearing the end of the story line (Blythewood Faeries part 1) so unless something happens in the next few chapters, then I am thinking this is not really worth the 170 / 200 gems....?

According to Post #1

After you complete step 3

Feast thine eyes upon mine bait, pole, and net, O Glimmermouth and tremble before My Liege!
3. Good Ol' Glimmermouth
* Go Fishin' 0/1 (go)
* Catch Glimmermouth 0/1 (get)
Rewards: 1650 coin, 6 xp

You will then get the goal to purchase it with Gems.. 200 gems but you get 30 back by completing the purchase. So its basically discounted 30 gems.

Thanks, I was a little impatient. It just showed up after the quest was completed

Is it possible to craft super bait without the new fish market? Yes :) you craft Bait in the Magic Forge and you get either a drop of plain bait or super bait. From my own observation, super bait drops are super rare!

Also does the first fish market play into any of this? No, unrelated it would seem at this stage and has slightly different drops.

Just curious what do majority players think of spending 170 gems (assuming you get 30 back) on bait market. Has anyone done the new adventure with super bait? Does it drop anything other than glimmer mouth? You can easily craft the simple bait... Would love to hear from fellow players:)

I lucked up and got a super bait from my forge. I sent off the adventure and got only 2 glimmermouth instead of the one. Someone earlier in the thread reported 4, which would make me feel like the process was worth it if it were consistent and if you had the bait shop to ensure a super bait for every mission. It definitely isn't worth it for just 2. I'll just make the fishy products I need myself.

Hello... I have decided to share my information and suggestions...

-SUPER BAIT CLARIFICATION: To craft super bait without the new Gem onry shop. You can craft in the magic forge an option which supposedly has a chance to drop super bait instead of plain. There are NOT TWO (2) different options for crafting, they both come from the same craft option.

-PLAIN BAIT CLARIFICATION: I have crafted all 100 seeds I had in inventory in the forge, and obtained only plain bait. (I have 21~) Not one single super bait came from the Magic Forge. No more materials to make more lol... Doesn't seem like it has a reasonable droprate, however, it also seems useless. (The super bait) because what comes next doesn't make much sense...

-CRAFTING GLIMMERMOUTH: After I crafted the Glimmermouth, what came out was a "Smoked Fish Sandwich" described as "Food for Hungry Travelers" and that's it,

-BAIT MARKET: Don't get the bait shop, seems like a giant waste of gem... the end item from all this is the ability to craft fish based feasts randomly with a glimmermouth, and the bait shop doesn't make it any easier at all... This whole thing doesn't seem very well planned out... (FISH MARKET seems like a better choice, as it drops ingredients so you can craft the feast you are aiming for, and those craft times are much shorter than glimmermouth craft. Also some take less resources, lol... Also it's only 120G instead of 200G. If you're going to spend 200G, might as well get a 2nd Wizard school...)

I hope this information can help someone....

I'm not spending 200 gems on the thing. I'm more interested in finishing up the challenges I have open and getting that rainbow arch. I wish that one wasn't dependent on others - I think most have run out of steam and are no longer going for the coins.

I got a super bait drop from the forge. But went fishing with regular bait and got one glommerfish which I used to cook in the kitchen. Didn't get anything from all that because I'm maxed on all fish related foods. I mainly did it to get the goals out of my goal book. I'm holding on to my super bait as a souvenir.

I've crafted 13 baits and have twice received super bait. So it does come up in the magic forge. I don't typically go on adventures that require fish based foods, but I'll likely keep crafting bait just to use the plethora of blue fish I'm getting from my frequent pond collections.

I have made 17 baits. 14 came out plain and 3 came out super (only recently). I have tried each in the adventure. The plain bait gave one fish and the super bait gave three. Only tried to cook one glimmermouth. It gave me several items but I rarely use the items I received so unless they have new quests coming up that use a lot of fish it does not seem worthwhile to me to buy the bait market. I prefer the banquet table from Thanksgiving that at least drops an entire feast every other day.

Edit: the more I think about the bait shop, I am changing my mind. I'm not sure if it really gains anything. Because fishing with plain bait does accomplish the same thing-it just might take longer. Not worth the gems imo.

See there's lots of things I don't have that cost gems (cabbage hut, I'm looking at you!) and I'm trying to save up gems and hoping they go on sale. I bought the bait shop, largely because I like the way it looks. On my main account I have had 2 super bait from the magic forge and none from my other account.

Experience tells me that if there is a new adventure, then pretty soon we are going to need to have/give a large number of glimmermouth, super bait and/or bait and probably the various fish items that go with them so I am just building up my supplies just in case.

I like to be prepared because it is so much less stressful.

I considered buying the bait market, then realized that my limiting fishing resource is not bait but nets. Each net takes 5 ropes, that's 15 wool. With only 3 sheep I was lucky to get 15 wool in an entire day. Besides I am in the middle of Sparring Pit quest line, and need wool for the dummies. So I bought 2 more sheep instead.

You are right, conservatories are great for seeds and fertilizer. I have 9 churning non stop to produce seeds or fertilizer depending on the needs, no better source. With 2 hours refresh they have a good drop rate. Only negative point, they are RP buildings (compound cap of 43) taking 3x3 space.

Hey everyone!

Sorry I'm late to the update ><

-The Good Ol' Glimmermouth update unlocks at Level 25 on both iOS and Android, and is a core update, here to stay!
-Update is a quest chain which introduces a new set of crafts, the top of which is the new Cook With Glimmermouth recipe in the Kitchens!
-There are two ways to Go Fishin'! One with Plain Bait, and one with Super Bait. Super Bait will get you the most Glimmermouth, but Plain Bait will always get you one :)
-When you Cook With Glimmermouth, you turn one Glimmermouth into a hearty helping of multiple fish-based food products!

-There is also a new building, the Bait Market, which costs gems and unlocks during the quests. The Bait Market will always drop one Super Bait, plus a small chance of dropping something extra.

I just want to say thank you to the game developers for providing new and permanent crafting. Thank you, thank you, thank you:o Just give me one or two new permanent fish dishes to make -available in the cooking camp as well!- and you'll get another thank you:) Lol, maxed on all dishes, like many other players are:p:rolleyes:

You have to give the buildings a bit of a chance. I go through 10 collections and then if nothing good pops up I stick them in storage. I don't think I've ever gotten anything worthwhile off the petting zoos.

Not sure if any body brought this up ,I did look but didn't find any thing !! There should be more resource for seeds,, may be the faerie bulb they should add seeds too , I have 4 faerie gardens and 4 consevrorties out , they don't drop every time

Do you have a faerie flowerbed? I think you get one in one of the fairy quests and can buy them in the market (80 gems)... mine regularly drops seeds.

Great we have new adventures to go on but why do they not drop some energy like the other adventures? Sure it's only a 4hr fishing adventure but if you take into account the time for making rod/net and bait you would think it would at least give us a few extra energy?? Just a thought lol😊

Hahahaha yea considering it takes a lot longer than 4 hours to acquire all the requirements to do adventure and all you get is a fish which you then need a 1 day crop of carrots to do anything with and if you happen to be maxed on fish dishes its a real waste of time IMO

Yes the chance if a few gems and some box items in the adventure would make me buy the bait hut and do this adventure. Otherwise, since Im maxed out on fish dishes, there is no reason for my kingdom to use this.

But admit it, like myself, you too are working on maxing fishing poles and nets. Just in case there is a famine.

Is the Bait Market worth buying if you have the enough gems to afford it?

I'm working on them; not because I expect a famine, but sooner or later we'll get a quest that requires all the fishing equipment....

Honestly this has to come down to be your own decision. I have purchased it but have only gone on the adventures a couple off time simply because you have to craft pole net bait(if u don't have market) that takes hours, then the adventure is 4hrs and you only get fish dishes!! Who knows what they have lined up in the story but no doubt this bait will be needed for something!!

I'm not seeing what you get out of this challenge. I've sent knights fishing and I've made the stew but I get such little rewards it doesn't seem worth the effort. Has anyone gotten something good like gems or rare drops from this?

You only get fish based dishes. That's it. Although for me it's a good reward, as I'm not maxed on any of those dishes, so I usually get 6. And I finally have something to do with all those ropes :D

Repost

I have news!

I asked S8 if we could change the placement of 'Cook with Glimmermouth' in the kitchen out of the dessert section and up a little bit with the other fishy crafts. Today that has happened! "Cook with Glimmermouth" appears under Mercury Feast now with the other recipes that have fish in them.

Is it just me or is it hard getting enough boar tusks to go on the feral lands adventures too often. I hardly get any dire boars. Which makes the glimmermouth less useful other than for smoked fish sandwiches.
