I've been playing a game! Have you figured out this week's answer? The answer is: LUCK

Dear players, I've received word from S8 that the Rainbow Gate and the Gold Path were only meant to be prizes and as such they have now been removed from the market.

If you had purchased either of these items, they have not been removed from your game. I'm sorry to be the bearer of bad news...

I'll amend post 2 accordingly. If you have any questions or comments, please let me know by PM so we can keep this thread in tact.

edit to add: Rainbow Gate - you still get the rare drops if you have this now. :)

The Season of Luck Event

Timed / Optional event

The event has expired. So, what does this mean? Here goes.....

This means that leprechaun coins are obsolete. They don't do anything now.

If you have the goal Lucky Magic and you do not have the cauldron, this goal is obsolete. All goals have to be completed before the event expires. The timer on this goal is obsolete. However....

What the Lucky Magic goal does allow for (according to what was posted by S8) is for you to use the cauldron to complete this goal. You must have earned the prizes to complete this goal.

If you were eligible for the community prizes, the leprechaun and the rainbow gate will drop lucky clover and lucky magic for you to use in the lucky workshop. If you have a L5 float, this also has a small chance for both of these items too. It may take you ages to get enough items to do a trade though.

Tips and Notes:
* Starts: 03/03/2016 12PM PDT - Ends: 03/21/2016 4PM PDT
* The total number of Leprechaun Coins is updated as soon as they drop, not when they are collected.
* You get the Lucky Workshop when you have reached the 3rd Individual prize
* You get the Lucky Cauldron when you have reached the 5th Individual prize.
* RESPONSE FROM S8 ON TIME DIFFERENCE WITH GOALS: The Lucky Magic goal has an additional week of time because the items required for that goal are prizes from the event. Users who earned the prizes but didn't place them will have an additional week to complete Lucky Magic.

* The Lucky Workshop/Lucky Trade are permanent prizes! The Lucky Trade will remain available after the event ends - in effect, the trade is as much the 3rd Personal Prize as the workshop itself is :)
* The 4th and 5th Personal Prizes are the only guaranteed sources of the Lucky Clover and Lucky Magic you need to do the Lucky Trade.
* Additionally, the Parade Float Level 5, Leprechaun Gnome, and Rainbow Gate will continue to have an extremely rare chance to drop Lucky Clover or Lucky Magic after the event.

How does this event work?
To get the first individual prize, you need to collect 100 Leprechaun Coins. When you reach the next number shown on the Event screen, the next individual prize opens up for you. Keep collecting Leprechaun Coins to get to the next individual prize.
Once you reach 600 Leprechaun Coins, you are eligible for any and all of the prizes that are earned by the community (shown on the second row.

Help! The Leprechaun Coins aren't going into my inventory!
There is a counter on the top right of screen and all items go there. They do not go into inventory.

Help! I can't see the upgrade button?
if you do not see the upgrade button, click somewhere else on the board and then click back on the Parade Float. The buttons should return. Force close if still not showing.

Does the level of a building we can collect Leprechaun Coins from (Market places, tavern, cottages) have any impact on the number of drops?

Ok, I should be sleeping but I'm too excited! I did my first trade in the Lucky Workshop and it just dropped this Golden Chalice for me and it has a 16 hour timer!!! Excited to see what it drops! :D

This was a prize from the Baron's Tent back in August '15. If it's coded the same, it'll drop 1XP, 50 coins and either a jewel or silver.

no lucky workshop present anywhere

but confusing that this workshop a price.. but takes us to the cottage

I came in with the same question, then went back. The workshop is the 3rd individual prize.

The first two prizes are the moats. For me I am excited. I see this in other people kingdoms and it looks awesome. I can get moats before the goal to unlock them! Yay!!! No idea how I will fit in a moat...maybe once all my cottages are gone again...

1 or none from ponds and 2 from cottages, the time of ponds are 10 minutes and the time of cottages is 4 hours. Both 2x2.
I think that is better a pond that cottage. Is possible to visit a pond 24 times in the same time that visit 1 cottage

I'm not sure that you get a great return on your energy collecting from ponds, and you certainly don't want to check into the game every 10 minutes.

24 energy spent collecting from cottages gives you 48 coins. 24 collections from ponds gives you perhaps 12 drops -- is it just one coin each time? that would only be 12 coins.

It's a balancing act. I have a lot of cottages and will likely focus on them.

Nope...you collect from cottages, among other places/things, to get the leprechaun coins.

Looks like the lucky workshop is the 3rd prize but can't remember how many items need to be collected to get #3.

A little disappointed that wells aren't sources of lucky gold. Does anyone know when the next gem sale will be? I have been toying with the idea of getting a mermaid pond for a while now and this clinches it, but I am 20 gems short.
If you have enough nuggets try to excange for 5 gems, also desert sand adventure brought back 15 gems in 3 days. Also if you have purple cow she also drops gems. Save real money for real things. ;)

I've been getting between 1-3 coins from my ponds...about 50% collection rate. Even if I don't want to check in every 10 min, seems like a better return for my space than other buildings (market 1x/day). Unfortunately there is no room in my queendom for all the cute prizes! Just made another pass over my ponds--13 coins from 14 ponds. I can live with that return (especially compared to 5 for a marketplace once per day). But I'm sure the S8 gods will slow that return rate to a trickle once they get wind of it. (Oh-never mind--I forgot..."They don't control drop rates." lol)

Ehehehe after work hours on Thursdays with an update are fun! But then again, I had just finished redecorating my place, now I have jewelers next to my piggies, cuz I stuck them anywhere I could... Somehow I had 18 in storage. When was the last time we had a timed event that required jewelers? :confused:

You cannot place the Workshop till you get the 3rd indiv prize. I'm updating post 2 all of the time, so keep refreshing your screen/tab if you're keeping post 2 open.

No, it's different. The Mermaid Pond is the same kind of blue, but 3x3 and you can only buy it for gems. There are no goals surrounding it. I checked Lorelei's fountain and got no drops from that.

Anyone else's ratio of float sheets/fringe the same for each float collection?
Have collected from the float 5 times and each time it has been 2 green sheets and 1 orange fringe.
So now I have 10 green and only 5 orange.
Was hoping that it would be the other way round on occasions, ie. 2 orange 1 green.

Going to take heaps longer to upgrade if this trend continues.

I had 2 Rainbow pots in my inventory, chopped one, got a fertilizer and some energy. Not worth the 18 gems I think.

I now have 11 green and 3 orange thingies. I really, really hope that this won't be another event with too uneven drops...

I just ignored my own policy on buying temporary items with gems and bought the Rainbow Arch... It's adorable, and I hope it will help me. 20 gems is not too much I think and I hope it will drop something even when the event is over...

Does anybody know what the Butterfly Hedge drops? And what the collection-time is? I love that one too!

To be honest, I love all the artwork from this event! :o Just really hoping the orange and green thingies won't be a hustle!

I hope they keep those around for a bit. I'm just disappointed they didn't give us any animals we could get for coins like they did with the pink chicks. Or did they and I missed it? They should have at least given us multicolored chicks in Easter egg colors for gold.

If you have enough nuggets try to excange for 5 gems, also desert sand adventure brought back 15 gems in 3 days. Also if you have purple cow she also drops gems. Save real money for real things. ;)

I know, I know. My bottleneck is golden apples, not nuggets. I don't have the cow or the sands adventure yet. I keep waiting to be at a high enough level where this stuff seems to be easier, but I am already 32ish and I am still always scrabbling.

Got 1 green sheet from the collection of one pond before I placed the float

I'm assuming it was a glitch

I pulled out all cottages, ponds and collected and get more from cottages than ponds, but ponds you can collect faster

Getting 1-3 coins per cottage, most were 2
Got 3 from both jeweler
Got 1 from almost every pond, the last pond gave a mermaid scale

My daily trade gave me the orange parts got 7 of them

Moonpies are for Mardi Gras. I usually collect a meal or 2 from St. Paddy parades (Irish stew and smothered cabbage). I thought maybe we needed to have the right veggies to throw from the float. Only thing missing is the onion and potatoes as we also have lemons.

So....am I doing something wrong???? I'm still on the first goal...I've completed "Build the Parade Float" but I haven't completed "Place the Parade Float". When I press the "Place" button it sends me to the Market but I already purchased and placed the float so there is no float in the Market. I tried forceclosing. I tried storing my float and re-placing it again. I'm almost ready to upgrade it to level two but I'm not sure if I should because the goals are not triggering for me. Did this happen to anyone else??

That color difference is probably caused by runoff from the drawbridge. The environmentalists will be picketing your kingdom shortly.

Ok, I am confused about a couple of things.

The final individual prize, the Lucky Cauldron, drops the Lucky Magic which we are to use in the Lucky Workshop. Now it seems odd that the final prize, which presumably you don't reach until very close to the end of the event, drops an event item - the Lucky Magic. Which makes me wonder if the Lucky Magic continues to drop after the event is over, and the Lucky Workshop continues to be functional. Any thoughts?

Also, the event icon in the upper right corner of my screen says 18 days.
My goal, In the Market for Luck, about ugrading the float, also says 18 days.
But my goal, the Lucky Workshop, for getting the Lucky Workshop as the 3rd prize, is listed at 25 days -- a full week after the event is over!
Does anyone else have that time discrepancy on the goals? Is it just an error or does it have some significance?

Very good questions! I really hope the lucky workshop continues to be useful after the event. :o And I too have the time discrepancy. 25 days to get the workshop.....the reward is 10 gems....I wonder if that could mean it will be available as a gem purchase after the event?

I find the count to be okay (314 so far, of course I'm overrun with cottages!), but the materials to upgrade seem to be adding up very slowly. I agree the ponds aren't very reliable. They seem to drop better when I am not maxed on water, but it's hard to use that much water!
They sure are spawning boars though. (Unfortunately for my club making project, my boar tusks seem to have been poached before they get to my kingdom. :rolleyes:)

Just to throw my pond findings in:
First collection 8 ponds = 8 coins (some gave none, some more than 1).
Second collection 8 ponds = 3 coins.
Third collection 8 ponds = 10 coins.
Fourth collection 8 ponds = 5 coins.
Fifth collection 8 ponds = 5 coins.

These were spread out over about 4/5 hours. In my opinion the pond yields are better than the cottages, they're ready more frequently and you get the added bonus of other drops, water, scales, fish, etc.

Don't know if anyone knows yet, and it's probably a stupid question considering how 'platformist' Storm8 is, but are us Andriod players going to get any extra help since (yet again) daily trades are only for IOS??

Thanks to SW and all the helpful players who gem ahead, answer questions (repeatedly), and generally make life so much easier for us lurkers, it's always appreciated :-D

Wow you are much luckier than I am with ponds. I have about a 33% chance of getting a coin and then only one coin never more. I have 30 cottages (yes, looking a little crowded) which give me about 34-36 coins every four hours , for 30 energy. At my current rate of drops with ponds 30 energy would only give me 10 coins. I now only click on ponds when I have a few extra energy not needed for more reliable sources.
Still think this task is doable without being tied to my I pad all day and enjoying the challenge. Let's see how the fringes drop.

I wouldn't be so sad about it if I were you... It's hard to fully participate on low lvl's and you'd probably only end up with a half-finished building. Even reaching the point where you become eligible for the community prizes is very hard for low level players.

When you level up to level two you only have three 3 days to level up to level three if you want the prize of 8 lucky clovers, so you may want to hold off levelling up until you have some extra fringes. Wow that's a mouthful. Hope everyone is having fun with this one. The river is really pretty

The lucky cauldron drops 1 lucky magic every 3 hours, the trade in the lucky workshop need 8 magics to do 1 trade. So we will not able to do lots of trades :p

Not sure if it has been mentioned yet, but I have a separate 3 day timed goal to upgrade the float to lvl 3 after the upgrade to lvl 2. Hope that helps. Not sure I will collect enough green & orange float fringe.

Holy cow! Has any one checked the leprechaun rainbow pots? For 18 gems I received an expansion permit, and more or a sweet feast! This has to be a mistake! It is too generous for storm 8. Lol. I chopped four, oh golden apples and nuggets. Not one out of four was a turd. I am itching to buy more. I need help!

Those are nice.. I think we got them as rewards a few Patty day events ago. Tried my best to save a few but couldnt resist). I see some kingdoms have them out still to this day unless they are new ones but i doubt it. Those guys are maxed on most everything anyway. Xmas trees are easier to save as they are not near as epic as the Rainbow Pots.

I can't remember when an event was actually exciting for me, and was something I enjoy rather than a tedious job to be done with so I could store the junk associated with it. It has been over a year, at least, and possibly two.

Not only is this event seasonally appropriate, but there is a new craft building involved. The story not only makes sense, but it fits in with the Castle Story theme. Gone are the starving orphans and seasonally inappropriate decor. Some of the prizes will become permanent fixtures for many of us. From what I have seen so far the items are not over or undersized, and they are artistically rendered to fit seamlessly into our kingdoms in both form and function.

I am actually setting alarms again to make the most out of the event, something I thought was a thing of the past. I am not sure if it went online on time because I had quit spending update day waiting to get started right away, but there didn't seem to be the usual annoyance with this event coming from my neighbors

It sure looks like S8 finally got their act together with this one. Great job S8!

Just when I quit buying gems and had determined to avoid getting involved in playing these optional timed events, one comes along that is more than worthy of being embraced.

Back to actually enjoying this event. Yay!

the last prize is 3500~! but with my timer saying still 17 days and i'm at 900 coins I couldn't worry! the parade float is by far more challenging if you don't check every three hours.

I barely have 400 coins! I think I need to worry. I'll be so bummed if I can't make it.

I have that now, too. The first goal I didn't get a screen grab of but you had to collect from ponds and collect gold coins. I think it was 10 ponds then 10 coins.

It looks like there's a third goal as well. I hope this is right, anyway - this goal kind of showed up quickly and I passed through the first part pretty fast.

Then there's another one that says "HOW ABOUT A RAINBOW? THAT'S LUCKY, RIGHT? NOTE: YOU DO NOT HAVE TO COMPLETE THE QUEST TO CONTINUE, HOWEVER, THE RESOURCE WILL BE USEFUL"

The goal is to upgrade the parade float to level 3, the reward is 2,400 gold, 7 stars and 8 clovers.

Yay! I just now got my six hundred gold coins and was able to unlock the eligibility for the community prize. For those who haven't unlocked it yet we are already 73% of the way there for the gold path prize! it's also under your decorations tab if you want to look at it.

I did collect the 3th prize the Lucky Worship.. Now the goal say that I have to plant 4 Luckt Clover... But, i cant. This item is still locked by goal..
How can I plat further now???

As post 1 states you have to unlock 4 th individual prize to unlock planting Lucky Clover. Not Sure what you mean by not able to go farther. This only means you cannot plant clover.

I will agree that seems odd to get this goal early. 600 coins early

Aside from the constantness of being "sapped out" (heehee) on sap for paste, this is so much fun. Working on the workshop now, and trying for some more parts to level up the float (I am staying out of sap, growing some acers now, hopefully that'll help...plus my 2 maples). I know the sap trees would be better, and I really wish I had room for some, but between cottages and ponds, no go, lol. Is there any other room efficient way of gathering sap I might be missing? :)

Edited to add...I say it here, go gather from Sir Pigglesworth...and he drops me 3 sap. I would love the option to build him his own glam home, he's given me some really amazing stuff!

I'd normally be fine, but I just got through building Greselda's home, and the Knight's hall. And went about leveling up buildings. Got some acers raised now though...and actually I think I just need a lumin essence to do another dark cave adventure. Couldn't hurt!

I actually have 20 trade tickets, and am seriously considering doing the enchanter's crate trade. But I'd really hate to lose 20 tickets and get nothing back for it.

Getting the float as high and as fast is secret. At least i think so

Toast some farmhouses and build as many needed buildings as possible. They are easy to rebuild

I have my float at level 2. The first page says at level 2 we get 4 float pieces.
Mine is just dropping three float pieces, I just got two green float sheets and one orange fringe which is just 3 pieces.

Is the first page information wrong?
