Looks like our dreams of a fruitful/food dragon have been answered ?!

wow its only 120 food a day.

thats

886,450 food to get a rainbow dragon to level 15

that's 7387 days at 120 food a day or 20 years for one dragon
no thanks for 1600 gold
heading back to nest with dragon head hung low with shame

Hey! Yeah, they added the food one, as well as a map one, and one for extra bombs and one for extra dynamite. :)

I rather see my 7 farms produce more apples and work harder.

I see the math a bit differently. The capacity of the habitat is 200 apples. If you have 1 Fruition at level 15, it earns 25 apples per hour or 200 apples in 8 hours. If you collect 3 times a day (every 8 hours), you are earning 200 x 3 = 600 apples a day. It would still take 1477 days to level your Rainbow dragon up to level 15. Hey, if you had 2 level 15 food earning dragons you could knock it down to a mere 739 days! ;-)

Considering how many apples it would take to get a Fruitition to level 15 (also 886,450 apples) I can't see why it is a good idea at 600 per day. Especially given that it can't be bred, only bought with gold. Now, if it was 2000 or 3000 apples per day, I might consider it. Though probably not.

thanks for the correction I hope I didn't mislead anyone with my partial math

Hi MaribouMay and Farmdrone

I've got a different aspect to consider as well. :D

Let's take any other single dragon - I took Cursed Rose at level 10 who earns 1,280 coins an hour.

For this illustration I used Rushrooms, which cost 26,000 coins for 1 hour's "work" producing 300 apples.

It takes 20.31 hours for Cursed Rose to generate 26,000 coins.

It takes 2,954.83 hours to produce 886,450 apples at a rate of 300 per hour.

Therefore it would take Cursed Rose 60,020.05 hours (20.31 x 2,954.83) to generate enough coins to produce 886,450 apples.

60,020.05 divided by 24 = 2,500 days.

So effectively Fruition gets the job done in a little over half the time.

Admittedly, Cursed Rose is not the best earner in the game, so I also looked at our friend Infinity at level 12, earning 3,720 coins per hour. It would take Infinity 860 days to produce enough coins to grow the same number of apples.

As a VERY rough averaging mechanism, 2,500 + 860 = 3,360 divided by 2 = 1,680.

So in my view, Fruition doesn't do too badly PLUS there is no planting and harvesting required.

But it did confirm my gut feel Fruition was not such a bad deal at all. Plus his usefulness in the Arena can't be ignored. :D

I'm just waiting for a Mrs Fruition!

Will Mr and Mrs Fruition have to be childless? They wont be allowed to procreate.

It must be bedtime; I'm getting silly.

Maybe they can adopt? The poor Gold dragons are destined to a barren life too. Very sad.

Some really interesting analysis of value.

However the fact remains that they cost gold (which for many people is still a rare commodity) and the return is still pretty minimal in relation to how many apples you can generate through your farms.

I am always short of apples and I would have been willing to buy 10 fruition dragons (I have plenty of gold) if they would significantly boost my apple generation.

Belbar22, I don't believe it is appropriate to compare a dragon with a farm, that is why I compared the Fruition output against individual dragons' ultimate output.

We are all short of apples, I think! LOL I know I am!

I'm not even tempted to buy one of these with gold because I can easily grow 300 apples an hour on just one farm. I think they should produce something like 3000 - 5000 apples a day to be worth buying for gold.

Why!!! All I care about is Apple production. LOL. I have been playing almost from the beginning (sad I know) and I don't think I ever gave any thought to individual dragon output even when I was desperate for coins. Now if you could show me why an apple giving dragon has any value as a reasonable source of apples rather than to satisfy my collectors tendencies then I am all ears.

I should just add that I didn't buy fruition at the time, as I managed to ignore my collectors tendencies.

I would like to have this dragon...but I wouldn't mind another farm...I hate odd number things...it's a "Rainman" thing for me!! Plus, I really want some new decorations to craft or buy...I've made all the decor that can be crafted and purchased most of the decor from the market, sans the few items that must be bought with gold...I save the gold for dragons and habitats...I wish they'd come out with some new paths, flowers, or goal related decor...such as shells for tropic habitat...or maybe little trees and bushes that match habitats;)

Thank you very much and I do see your point . Im glad you put it out there for others because I dont like to discourage others . I personally think its still too small amount of food and too high a price considering how many dragons most of us have to get to even level 10. but thanks for putting another perspective out there

No way I'm ever going to spend a ton of gold for such poor output as long as my upgrapes can produce 4200 apples per hr.
I know it requires a solid income of coins, but that comes automatically in time.

Maybe they'll be childless by choice. No regrets, baby! [that is, no babies!] ;)

Sadly, they don't have a choice. They are routinely rendered barren by Storm8 as they pass through the Evolution to level 4. Reproduction disallowed for economic reasons.

The problem with your logic is that you are forgetting a very important aspect, and I'm not even talking about the Gold cost of this dragon just yet. The 886,450 food number comes from how much it takes to get the Fruition simply to pay for itself. So in all that time, all those years, it doesn't make you any profit whatsoever. 886,450 food just to break even. In order to get the randomly selected Cursed Rose to pay for itself, it needs to produce 38,460 apples worth of money. Using the math you've already provided, it would take Cursed Rose 2604 hours to pay for itself at level 10. Just 108.5 days. After that every single day of food production is pure profit. 4 years for Fruition would ever be able to generate a profit for you on its own versus 3? months for the Cursed Rose to produce a profit. It takes 7 years before Fruition begins to make more food than the Cursed Rose.

There are many Dragons that cost around the same amount of food as Cursed Rose and produce even more money, thus more food. Considering the entire point of the Fruition Dragon is to make more food and he does it worse than a good number of the Dragon populace, I'd say it does a really terrible job. And it does it while costing you a lot of Gold, too.
