Older Kindle fire update today

I have a kindle fire from 2012. I received an email from Amazon today that it is going to auto update.
Am I no longer going to be able to play these games after that like the newer kindle hdx owners are saying they are no longer able to play them?

Thanks for reporting this! I did check and was told that storm 8 recommends against updating the OS of your Kindle for now.

They have seen reports that updating can cause issues with accessing the games.

I have to update or will lose my other kindle services. If I don't allow the update I won't be able to update it at all after March 22nd.

I updated (before checking on the games) and yes, lots of black screens on Bakery, Restaurant, & Fashion Story games. Bummer.

Is there any news regarding when are we going to be able to play (bakery and restaurant story) on our kindle fire's again? Is Storm8 trying to fix it or are they just done? Missing out on new appliances is no fun! I was not aware of the update which obviously happened automatically. I now constantly get black screens but I do have limited play. Most important I cannot tip my neighbors...this is a problem - mostly for my neighbors of course lol
I really enjoy these games and I hope there will be a solution or at least an explanation soon.

I did check on this and was told that they are not done with Kindle. They are still working on this but there is currently no new information to share right now. Sorry!

I have kindle fire. But in amazon appstore restaurant story isnt here. So I had to use apj server

My husband, AKA hubby, just bought the new Kindle Fire HD so I thought I'd check and see what Bakery and Resto Story would look like on the new device, but when we went to the App Store to try and download the games, the apps were nowhere to be found. Are they not offered on the kindle anymore? What gives? I can pull the apps up for download on my old kindle.

Is there something we aren't doing right? Any help would be appreciated.

The game is still playable on the older kindle hd, just not the newer one.

That's provided you didn't upgrade to the newer Kindle Fire OS. Unfortunately the games are not compatible with the new Kindle Fire OS. Since newer devices come with the new OS, therefore they are not compatible. Hope this clarifies.

I didn't know mine had updated, but I was told to restart my Kindle and that works for a while, but moving from my restaurant to another triggers the black screen again, I guess I'll have to find a new hobby until this is fixed:(

We don't have more news on the fix as of now but we'll post an update here as soon as we have more news. :)
