Would love to visit neighbors without needing facebook kinda boring without it

Yes, the game feels a little dull without it, since you have to pause for hours until the food is ready or ingredients restock... unless you purchase gems/coins/etc. The new "Secret Bakers Club" quest helps a bit, but I still find myself having to be away from the game for long periods of time until I'm able to serve/restock the food items. :(

I love this game and play a lot, but it will get boring soon without the ability to visit neighbors and see other people's bakeries.

Just making recipes, feeding customers and decorating is fun, but without the ability to visit the larger community, it gets stale (no pun intended) pretty quickly.
