The cost of learning new recipes is getting crazy! I don't want to buy gems again. Spent a LOT of money on them lately. Now I have to save another 200,000 after the 100,000 I just spent to collect vanilla. Crazy! I really like this game, but it's getting to be too much! I hope this new secret bakers club does not cost money, and allows friends.

agree! the latest figures we've got for level 39 (http://forums.storm8.com/showthread.php?88615-BAKERY-STORY-2-Planning-amp-Strategies-to-EARN-COINS&p=1242523&viewfull=1#post1242523) (8mio for shop + 1.35mio for ingredient + 2.67mio for recipe) can drive crazy anyone...

so, as a compromise, i wdn't even mind to have some "gourmet recipes" in home and fancy ovens with "secret" ingredient ("The secret ingredient is... nothing, Po!" (c) lol) that we cannot buy but get from friends' "club" somehow... :)

I got the update!!! I don't know how to post pictures here but you need 2 maps, 6 thank you notes, and $30,000 to build the Secret Baker's Club. Once you have everything it takes 12 hours to build.

today my game doesn't work any more.
in "app manager" menu it shows now version 1.5.1, but it doesn't open.
once i tap the icon, it shows black screen - and then lays down.

the only way for me to enter now - is to use valentine's version, but it doesn't show any clubs etc...

so i hope they will fix it for android till tomorrow, so i can participate too :)

For android players who can't see the update( i hope you guys get it as soon as possible!), the board on the wall has replaced that unstoreable memory of macarons picture. Im so sorry storm8 for all the times I asked you to fix that "bug!" I'm so happy with this update.

Also, we can now buy a new mixer and home oven using the keys from the club- no gems needed!

The dock was always there, but they now updated the pictures for the stores on the other side and made it so that we can scroll over and view the whole river. So I think we will have cruises soon too!

Is anyone having trouble with game freezing or shutting down device when trying play. Only happening since this update

Thank you ms. kooky, yes, I found this night wht to do.
Strange was that the game didn't update automatically as usual.
So I went to Google PlayStore -> my apps, and tapped "update" against usual BS2 version (Vale version doesn't have this update).
After this, I saw in preferences that the game has version 1.5.1 now.
And it stopped to open. Anytime I tried - black screen and then closed.
So I just deleted the game from device, and re-installed from Google PlayStore again.
Now it works.

You can use the bronze key to exchange for decorations under Keys tab.

I don't remember seeing any discard or refresh button for new orders. Maybe we have to wait for the timer to run out before we can get another order? If so, guess I'm in trouble too lol. Btw is it locked or unlearnt?

Aww... :( I guess I'll have to wait till tomorrow to get a silver key to unlock the secret gourmet ingredients. Hopefully they will fix it so that the program does not ask for unlearned recipes, I'm assuming they dont have a refresh because they dont want people to keep refreshing until they get easy recipes for this kind of thing..

So, the day really switches at certain time for everyone, and doesnt depend on when you delivered previous bunch...

This is very odd. My secret baker just finished building. I tapped to open it, and the screen showed I had 17h 59m left to fill all the orders. I started baking some of them, but some required ingredients that needed time to refresh. So I logged out of game and came back in 10 minutes later and saw that the timer is now only 2h 25m left !!!!

How can they do this??!!

This pic shows the timer just 10 minutes after I opened the new building! It's misleading if the timer starts with 17h, then 10 minutes later switches to 2h!! Please fix this! Or are we meant to keep our games open for the entirety of the 17h in order for the timer not to jump around and display numbers randomly??!!

Um..not sure about this. My order asks for 3x Apple dumplings, which need apples which take 1.5 hrs to restock. So I'd need 4.5 hrs at least to bake 3 Apple dumplings. But the timer shows only 2h left. So I won't be able to make it :(

Something is wrong with the timer. Please see my post above. It jumped from 17h 59m to 2h 25m within the space of 10 minutes when I logged out of game

I just got 2nd bunch (was ready abt half an hour ago) and the timer is again 18hrs.
So it depends only on when you open yr orders.
And key rewards are random. Sad :(

nop, nothing affecting. it's permanent (core) update.
you get standard version updated to 1.5 (ios) / 1.5.1 (android) - and if you lvl 14 or higher, you can do this.
timed only bunches of orders, nothing more.

Yep. Very excruciating 12 hr wait. Grrrr....

I waited it out. Then eagerly opened the new building, the timer showed I had 17h 59m to fill all the orders. Then I logged out of game, came back in 10 minutes later, the timer changed to 2h 25 mins. Grrr... It's expired now. Now it's another excruciating wait for 4 hrs for it to refresh. Grrrr...

If the timer glitches on me again, I'll pull my hair out. Grrrr....

I got frosted chocolate brownies twice in a row. I really dislike that recipe because it drinks up all my milk (well the icing does). Hopefully I'll have better luck tomorrow.

I didn't complete yesterday's orders because to be honest, I completely forgot about it! :rolleyes: I can see that I'll enjoy this feature and it's a nice little addition to the game. It reminds me of the daily quests in RS2.

Grrr! I should have read this before getting that little suitcase with the gourmet ingredients. Now I have gourmet ingredients taking up space in my pantry and I can't cook with them because to learn the new recipes you need more keys which only come from completing the "Secret Bakers Club" quests. :mad:

I've completed 2 orders and got 2 bronze keys (I think, not sure). So I yet to receive 3 silver keys to unlock the recipe

Please don't exchange [KEYS] for any gourmet ingredients unless you have either 3 silver keys or a gold key, otherwise you'll just be wasting your storage capacity :(

The keys seem to be random drops. I'm not sure what shows in your game but the Designer Mixer costs 5 gold keys.

Ok, about to work on my second secret baker order.... and I also have 3 to go orders waiting... and one side quest (lol) All of which need a total of about 20 something butters, 12 coffee beans, 9 apples, and all those ingredients that sloooooowwwww down the game for someone with limited restock. Thank you ms. kooky, yes, I found this night wht to do.
Strange was that the game didn't update automatically as usual.
So I went to Google PlayStore -> my apps, and tapped "update" against usual BS2 version (Vale version doesn't have this update).
After this, I saw in preferences that the game has version 1.5.1 now.
And it stopped to open. Anytime I tried - black screen and then closed.
So I just deleted the game from device, and re-installed from Google PlayStore again.
Now it works.

Yep. Very excruciating 12 hr wait. Grrrr....

I waited it out. Then eagerly opened the new building, the timer showed I had 17h 59m to fill all the orders. Then I logged out of game, came back in 10 minutes later, the timer changed to 2h 25 mins. Grrr... It's expired now. Now it's another excruciating wait for 4 hrs for it to refresh. Grrrr...

If the timer glitches on me again, I'll pull my hair out. Grrrr....

Same thing happened to me... I purposely did not tap my box until last evening so that the twelve hours timer could work over night and I would have more time during the day to fill the orders...
So when I opened the box this morning I had a 17+ hours timer and was pleasantly surprised that the recipes I had cooked last night (after starting the box with its 12 hours timer) seem to have counted... Then when I returned I few minutes later to check what else I had to bake the order had expired!!! And I now have a waiting period of several hours before I even get the new order :mad::mad:

The case is not a permanent thing that you buy, it is that you purchase one and it gives you 6 ingredients direct to your pantry, as if you just bought a cart of groceries or such.

I'm finishing my third order in about 15 minutes. Yes it does count towards the next order if you precook something. Just make sure you leave it on the stove. Don't serve it until the next order becomes available. Did that last night. I wish I had 12 butters right now >.<

Aha. Got it. Thanks for answering :) So I can go ahead and unlock it. I thought as soon as you unlocked it the ingredients were automatically put in your pantry.

Just to make sure I don't mess up, I usually cook 2 of each item since the quests usually require (if I remeber correctly) between 2-6 of each.... so with 2 of each you're safe. frankly speaking, i am totally satisfied with this kind of development.
i'm sure u wd agree that all the learning/unlocking costs we faced so far up to leve 40 - just leaves no more reasonable space to expand moneywise.

I agree! One bronze key seems totally fair for the ingredients. Will take a long time to get the stuff for the recipes, but after you get it, it should be very rewarding.

I haven't opened marco's bazaar as yet so maybe that is making a difference? I haven't got any orders as yet for anything I haven't unlocked.

I've been asked for scones(2), fruit blintzes(2), apple dumplings(2), croissant(2), brownies(3), mocha frappe (2), Turtle cappuccino (2), cupcakes (3), macarons (5), sugar cookies (6), strawberry cakes (3?).

I cashed in both of my bronze keys, so now I have 10 gormet ingredients sitting in my inventory and taking up space.. The wait time for gormet ingredients is only 30 seconds, so you don't have to worry about waiting.

My only issue is that I'm stuck (like others have mentioned).. It wants me to serve mini donuts, which I haven't unlocked and don't really plan on unlocking any time soon. I'm going to stop cooking a lot of recipes until this is fixed bc I don't want to level up and increase my odds of getting another request that can't be filled..

I haven't won a sliver key yet and it's been three days

Should have been the first key that we got
not really. i guess the rarity of the key is based on its names:
bronze - common, silver - rare, golden - very rare.
so we just have to bake&wait, lol )))
i have 3 bronze keys for now. had 4 bunches to deliver, but one of them "gone with the wind", as it required too much coffee beans. i cdn't accumulate it, so that bunch was lost.

My first order with a recipe I haven't learnt yet...Apple cider. The clock is still ticking down. 18 hrs is a very very long long long time to wait for it to end :(

It just seems rather odd to me that a lot of planning and thought has gone into making this new feature of the game. It's very obvious that a ton of programming was done to the game. They must have planned this for a while, then programmed it, then tested it...before releasing it to us.

And yet. They missed this very crucial point??!!

Or maybe it was intentional?

The food doesnt go to the Bakers' Club like our To Go Orders or FS2 trains so I guess that's why it doesnt give us anything. We are only required to bake and we get to keep the food on our counters. But yes some coins or ingredient would be nice.

Heh...it took me about a month to get the 4.6 mil for the fryer. I wish it was just a week! It will be probably another month before I can unlock all of the recipes at this rate.

but out of wht u said, it looks like 5 ingreds per key.

so here is wht we have to find out:

- does the quantity of ingredients per one key depend on level?

- is this quantity random too (like mix of ingreds)?


(and btw, ms. lainey, cd u pls advise: when you bought that appliance for 1 silver key - did u get it instantly built or it took some time to get it out of box?)

For what i can see I need 5 GOLD KEYS to get the ONLY item I want which is another mixer. The mixer is always the machine ineed and i am waiting on. But how do i get the GOLD keyss?? I just fill more of those very demanding orders and HOPE to get some gold keys? Because with the cost to buy the appliances and the cost to learn new receipe i can only imagine that it will take 1 YEAR to get 5 gold keys. Please make this easier to undestand if the keys are random because i filled some very hard receipe and got a stupid bronze key. Then by cooking so many crapy recipe i have slowed down in earning money. I don't mind hard work but i need to see the end in sight and not just cook and cook for stupid bronze useless keys.

I think the number of gourmet goods depends on your level. I only got 4 goods with my first key. But I can make the souffle and it would be ready in 8hrs or I can use my other bronze key and see what ever ingredients I get.

Ok I couldn't wait, lol. I learned the souffle. Good news, you don't need a key(gold/silver) once you have learned the recipes. You just need the ingredients. I have pictures and I will upload when I can.



Until I can get the pics loaded, the souffle gives you 10 coins per serving.

i guess the names of keys talks logically about their rarity. wht wd be the point if all keys were dropped with same probability rate? :)

however, i wdn't say that bronze keys are so useless...
you just need to wait to get at least 1 silver (for gourmet goods appliance) and 1 golden key (to learn any gourmet recipe) - and you get wonderful opportunity to cook 10coins dish permanently... and you need many-many bronze keys to buy ingredients to do that.

i'm sure that for the guys who are, for example, at level 14 right now, it will be much easier to build up coins for moving faster through the levels, than it was for us who didn't have this opportunity being lower levels couple of month ago...

but if we are talking about market items only, then of course you are right: bronze keys looks useless.

well, these recipes are looking really wonderful! :)

first, they give good rewards for novice!
(for example, jelly donuts from fryer - give only $8'000 / at level 33.
but to be able to get $15'000 at level 14... sounds outstanding!)

and second, they give nearer to 10 coins per plate
like no other recipes - because they require no coins to buy half of ingredients!
(for example, same jelly donuts give actually not $7 per plate,
but $6.64 first, and max - $6.66 when mastered to artisan level).

sounds reasonable, especially in view that all other gourmet ingreds are already available by your level (the last one is tahitian vanilla, that comes at level 23).

i'll collect several more notes from the forum regarding the rarirty of ingredients, and will amend that post in guide respectively.

The first silver key gets you suitcases. After that silver keys unlock the secret recipes.

Gold keys unlock secret recipes.

All keys can also be traded for special merchandise.

I agree. How does it make sense that we are asked to make receipe we didn't learned yet? I mean I cant make caramel apple pie since i dont have enough money to buy the melting pot and learn it. Seriously people its hard enough to get all the items cooked in time and then see the 4hrs wait time and know that i will be doing 18 more hrs to get a new batch of demands since i know i cant do anything about this group that is asking to bake something I can't. Not fair people!! Please fix it i love this game but the cost of appliances and learning receipe. The many problems like having to delete and entire item from the pantry and now this asking to cook things you didn't learn is making me not enjoy it as much

yes, we can see exp on pop-up when learnt, but also when we serve the dish from counter - it drops exp and we we catch the blue star from it, it's signed with qtty of exp we got.

I do like the game but to be honest with this update it has made it too hard. Unless you play it all the time to achieve all the tasks in the allotted time is impossible for me. And then you get stuck because the new items are in my delivery box. Can I suggest you either make the tasks easier or you get rid of the time limit at least that would make the game playable and enjoyable again. I'm sure I'm not the only one who's thinking this.

You can learn the cheesecake recipe with 3 silver keys, or buy decor

Yeah that would be really frustrating! I'm on level 24 and didn't get too much recipes yet so I'm able to make every recipe (I guess except coconut vanilla latte). But it's really unfair being on higher levels and be unable to learn recipes because it's all really expensive :< I'm not looking to level up at this point lol

Don't forget the constant use of the mixer. I'm having trouble finding what to throw in there because everything that I need to make for the event and the secret club requires the stinking mixer. It's extremely hard when you only have one mixer.

Secret bakers....seriously I've done 6 rounds now and keep getting the same [] key. SUPER FRUSTRATING now, seems silly but I'm just getting bored which stinks, i cant even use thrm to make recipes cuz id need a different key to learn the recipe that uses the ingredients. That means wait 4 hours plus all the time it takes to make the several hour long recipes. Then getting the same broze key i already have 6 of. I don't have the money to really throw into playing, is that what we are expected to do? I love this game but I'm getting sick of waiting 2hrs for butter, doing multiple rounds of to go but getting coins or other lackluster drops. Expanding at this point seems impossible, 130,000 coin to make pb balls....jeez. I do download and play games that win me gems but it's not a fun way to play.

If the to go orders and secret baker recipes overlap they will count to both, so don't worry! It's actually better because you can **** two birds with one stone, so to speak.

Two of my go to orders now require two of the secret baker recipes. Since I also keep getting the same key, I'm out of luck to do much of anything for a while now.
I think you can refresh to go orders and get other recipes, it only takes 10 min

Could someone let me know how you can remove some items (not all) from the pantry. For example I have loads of thank you notes but I don't want to remove them all just some.

nothing like this so far.
1) you can only remove things when your pantry is over 90% full
2) you can only remove ALL qtty of item you choose.

Don't forget the constant use of the mixer. I'm having trouble finding what to throw in there because everything that I need to make for the event and the secret club requires the stinking mixer. It's extremely hard when you only have one mixer.

totally with you on that, and what is more frustrating is that after you are done!
Reward is BRONZE KEY which I already have 6!

I'm wondering about the ratio of key drops - does 10 bronze, 2 silver, 0 gold sound normal?

I always get the low drop rates in quests and never any rewards (gem or otherwise) in my "hey why don't Ya try this game!!!!" goals, so I'm wondering about the key drops too, since I haven't been able to unlock ANY recipes yet. :(

My common sense told me that unlocking the ingredients would be first, but no silver yet !

The keys are random. There is no way of telling when or what cycle it will happen

the keys rarity depends on their names :)
so far, i've got 6 bronze, 2 silver and 1 golden.
but the first thing seems to have keys to _learn_ recipes, otherwise there is no sence to get ingredients.

I personally am trying to learn recipes first which will help bring in money, and then save up for the mixer. On the other hand, a lot of these events that we get require the mixer a lot so that is a hard decision.

The more you level up, the more money it cost to unlock ingredients/recipes so keep that in mind.

I would suggest unlocking a recipe and saving your coins or gems for a second mixer. It will take an incredibly long time to save 5 gold keys. You won't get them frequently.

Personally I would go for the mixer since it is much more difficult to get the gold keys or earn gems. And you can only get a 2nd mixer using these. Although unlocking the recipes definitely fetch more coins faster, you can earn those coins gradually and eventually. Besides with a 2nd mixer, you can...
- still earn more coins than current
- save your 75 gems
- progress faster for your events.

Definitely unlock recipes... they take long to cook but they're worth it.

Id learn one recipe (possibly two so u can make use of all the ingredients) and then get a mixer

Got the preview of my next baking assignment, looks like of the 6 slots, three are filled with pies (2 lemon, 1 Apple, prob 2 times each) 2 slots filled with cakes and the last slot is Jelly Donut which I still don't have unlocked. I guess I'll give this one a pass - that's ALOT of pies! And me with 1 pie maker :P. At least a had a few that didn't have an unlearned recipe, all of mine it seems have required sets of 2 different cakes and 2 different pies - the regular recipes I've got that take the longest and need the most homemade ingredients.

Yes, the same item can be required twice in one order. I have Fancy Chocolates in my order now.

Oh yeah, definitely. It's asking for lemon meringue pie in two slots, for a total of 4 LM pie bakes, and then 2 bakes of Caramel Apple Pie in another, so 6 bakes of pie altogether. But hey, at least I didn't get the Caramel Apple Pie with Apple Cider and Apple Dumpling this time LOL, so that's something!

No, it counts to only one of them. Once you complete one of them, it will start to count towards the other.

This baker's club needs some serious work. Double recipes, recpies that take up precious timed event ingredients, and unlearnt recipes- looks like they only want us to complete one order a week!

I'm going to be honest that for me the Secret Bakers Club, along with the vast discrepancy between experience points and coins earned has made this game pretty much unplayable now, which is a bummer because I really enjoyed it.

I am on level 34 and still haven't earned enough coins to learn the apple pie. I just used up all my coins on the melting pot (which is a dumb tool if this game is to be based in reality. caramel is made on a stove-- much more so than a cherry cobbler for that matter but I digress). I'm earning almost every exactly 100,000 coins per day. The secret bakers club has not given me a single order I can complete since the first day. It has featured apple pie every time, and now it is featuring both apple pie and donuts. In order to learn apple pie, buy the fryer, unlock the chocolate, and learn donuts, it will cost me close to six million coins. That will take me 60 days to earn. But I can't really do anything in the meantime.

I have tons of food, about 100,000 servings of each high plate value recipe is on my counters, and I don't have any goals left that don't include unlearned recipes. My to go orders always include gourmet bakers club recipes. Even the one recipe I learned, I can't make without keys, which I can't earn until I earn 6 million freaking coins. I know you can refresh to go orders, but the last one I refreshed four times and got a gourmet recipe each time so that's pretty annoying. And if there was something to do in the meantime I'd be all for it. I would play and participate in goals and challenges, but the even the chocolate challenge has a pretty crappy prize and just creates a bevy of low value plates to dilute my earnings.
So I'm stuck.


It just seems like a design flaw. Maybe the patrons come and go too slowly- I shouldn't have $500,000 worth of lemon meringue pie on my counters! And then adding this bakers club component has just made all those issues worse-- it's just highlighting how slowly the coins accumulate. I'm basically 4 levels ahead of my coin production and so something that would keep me interested for the two months it will take me to learn those two recipes. But since I can't participate, it just makes me annoyed!

Agreed!! I think all of these things are meant to slow the coin production down and then hopefully we buy more gems in frustration! I wish I hadn't trading any good for key because they take up precious space! I just deleted about 20 coupon tickets!
