Cooking 'Goal' Dishes

I'm newer to the game and do not understand why it says "cook 12 steak plate". If I do not see "steak plate" as a recipe for the appliances I have, do I have to buy those dishes or the appliance to cook them on? How would I know which appliance to buy? And is there a list for which appliance has which recipes?

Here is the thread that will tell you about the current goal. There is a clip board in the corner of your game that will tell you what to do and which appliance to purchase. Hope that helps.
