Oh, I completely agree, there should definitely be more and bigger rewards for higher-level players. I actually think the developers do an excellent job of balancing rewards and challenges for the different levels of players!

Today I got 3 maps. It was so forgettable that when I got home from work I started DS to take a spin and saw the timer had more than 15 hours on it. I was puzzled, force closed and opened again only to see the timer again. I was about to write here to ask if anyone else had mysteriously lost a spin when I finally remembered that I did take a spin earlier in a hurry and got the maps. :D

Considering that we can get maps for free any day, I think putting maps on the prize wheel is pretty lame. Even a small* amount of food would be better, imo.

Anyway, today when I consider crafting, I now only have 99 pieces again. So my prize has been removed.

I assumed the same thing, Kooky, but it is a strange problem with the wheel and having collection pieces as prizes I suppose. I assume I am not the only one that sits on the max waiting to craft to avoid storage clutter accumulating. :) It doesn't bother me - I'd rather not have the pieces, but clarity so people are aware can never go astray.

So I gather you crafted straight away and then the game had no need to adjust your total as you then only had one piece. That makes sense. I'f I'd crafted, the same probably would have happened to me, but I didn't.

I've mentioned this in another thread and it's not really directly connected with the wheel, but I just got the 100th piece, not by winning it on the wheel but by winning a battle (I had done quite a few battles since I got to 99 but was getting no festive lights). I most definitely don't want that piece.

I have alerted the mods to the current situation. I had no problem with losing the 2 pieces I won, as like you I was sitting on 99 to avoid collecting any more and happily battling away for pillows. There is the underlying and ongoing issue of people winning a Wheel prize they are unable to receive due to other restrictions in the code. It may take the dev guys a bit of time to find a solution that covers both situations.

Hey, I like Maps - I'd just like more of them than 3 - 10 would be better!

Food I can grow, so I'd rather see more maps, less food IF we had to choose - but I like food too!

I think it is a different dev platform. What may be easy to do in one technology, may not be as easy in another. Just thinking out loud, really. :)
